Chapter 20: The Arranged Marriage

The next day, Pierre woke up and saw Stephanie by his side. He kissed her softly, and she woke up. "Morning," she sleeping said.

"Morning," Pierre answered her.

The two of them got up and got dressed for the day. Stephanie heard her cell phone ring. "Hello," she said without checking the caller ID.

"Cupcake, please don't hang up. I want to say that if you are truly happy, then I will leave you alone," Morelli begged her.

"I am really happy, Joe, and I hope someday you can find that same happiness. I do have one question if you don't mind me asking." Stephanie waited for Morelli to give her the okay to ask the question plaguing her thoughts. "Why are you still after me, even when you know I am married?" Stephanie asked him.

"Your mom told me what she and Janice were going to do. I told her not to do it, but your mom was very stubborn, sort of like you. She said that I should stay with Barnhardt. So I gave up on your mom and decided that I will be happy," Joe told her.

"Well, I think you made a good choice," Stephanie told him. "I have to go, but we will talk soon," Stephanie said and then hung up.

"Was that Morelli?" Pierre asked his wife.

"Yeah, you heard the conversation?" Stephanie asked her husband as she looked at him with a sparkle in her eyes.

"Yeah, are you really happy with me?" Pierre asked

"Yes, I am very happy with you. I love you, Pierre. We are going to raise this baby girl together. I do have a question for you, and that is if when the time presents itself, do we want to make her a big sister?" Stephanie asked him with a smile on her face.

"Well, how about we see how much trouble this one will be for us for a little while," Pierre said, shaking his head. "Now, I have to get to work. So we can get a new house." He kissed his wife and left the apartment.

He got to his office at Rangman and went into it. A few minutes later, he heard a knock at his door. "Great, what does he want?" Tank said to himself. "Come in," Pierre said.

"Pierre, it is good to see you," Peter said.

"Peter, I know you are Ranger's lawyer, so why are you here?" Tank asked him.

"Ranger wants you to have full control of Rangeman for a while," Peter told him and then handed the new contract that would hand over control of Rangeman to Pierre.

Pierre looked at the paperwork, saw it was good, and signed it. He then handed the paperwork back to Peter.

"Okay, I will process the paperwork and then give you a call when it gets filed," Peter said before leaving Tank's office.
