~ CXI: The wedlock of Laicolasse & Aduialeth ~

Ithilien, 3021 TA, December 21st

Marriage has never been about a ring or a piece of paper. It was not something that was endured, but rather something that was enjoyed. Unique union of two hearts beating as one, each willing to sacrifice for the happiness and well-being of the other. Marriage was the lifelong link between soulmates, the gift bestowed upon one another.

Now that Legolas' memories were returned, he was a whole being. They might finally strengthen and complete their link. After their wedding ceremony, Legolas and she promised to fulfill the connection. Now, it was essential that their wedding ceremony concluded in peace and unity.

It was an early afternoon wedding in the middle of winter. The place faced the awe-inspiring sunset in front of the Ithilien halls' entryway. At the conclusion of each seating aisle, Elanor draped fragrant candles and flowers from bare tree branches. As far as the eye could view, the aisle was lined with fall leaves that were slightly damp so they wouldn't break when walked on.

Their union was strengthened by the snow and ice that created it. The love that was traced via the flames was the most challenging. A few years ago, their union would have been prohibited. This marriage would never be accepted by the Elvenking. Their offspring would have been living evidence of their wickedness. They were not so dumb as to anticipate approval. They would pave the way for others who came after them. They were companions in laughter, levity, and serious discussion. It would have been simple for them to withdraw from society, but they never did. Their home was filled with music, affection, and the affection of family and friends.

Companions, from other regions, friends of old. These wedding rituals welcomed Humans, Dwarves, and Elves. The king of Gondor would exchange vows with the couple and declare their marriage. Gimli was selected as the groom's best man. Arwen, Éowyn, and Tauriel were the finest attendants of the bride. The first seats were occupied by Arwen, Faramir, and Éomer, the twin brothers of the bride. And so many more companions, as well as the rest of the Ithilien populace.

Elessar had requested that everyone rise. Elladan awaited Xena so he could accompany her down the aisle and present her to Legolas. The day before, the twins and the Elvenking engaged in a heated argument about who would lead the Bride down the aisle. Elladan was the ideal candidate, given that he was her elder brother and a close relative. And both Xena and Elladan adored the concept. On the other hand, Thranduil was as self-centred as ever. He would not grant such an honour to Elladan.

In fact, she has just become a highly significant figure in his whole realm. As it was the maiden who was pregnant with his grandson. If Legolas had not intervened, the discussion would have continued. Consequently, the wedding would be cancelled. Xena was delighted in seeing Thranduil's efforts to convince Elladan to accept his wishes. She would never end their discussion.

The wedding dress was the next issue to arise. The seamstress laboured for at least a month to create the most exquisite bridal gown, using the best materials and stones. Made for a queen, it was an extremely exquisite and hefty bridal gown. Xena had faith in her and did not try on the dress until a week before the wedding. A major mistake. The seamstress and Xena did not only argue. Xena almost called off the wedding. She would never consent to wear such a bridal gown. The seamstress took exception to this. It was her masterpiece. Even Legolas acknowledged that it was her most accomplished job.

Xena and the Elvenking both concurred for the first time. This wedding gown was not Xena's. When Thranduil displayed his wife's bridal gown, thankfully, the dispute ended. The sole piece of the Queen's personal property that he concealed. Then, Thranduil presented Xena with the White Gems of Lasgalen. Thranduil informed Xena, "Those gems once cost my queen her life. I pray they bring you all the luck she could not find." Xena realized that Thranduil cared about her and loved her as much as he loved his son.

Unique was the wedding gown worn by the princess. It was created centuries ago by the Elves. It was composed of silver-veined leaves and lace. The coat was lightweight and kept her warm. It had a low waist, was gathered to her toes, had long elf-like arms, flared lace, and only displayed her shoulders. The hue was a combination of silver and white, and the gown was knitted with silver outlines in various patterns. Her hair was styled in loose, thick curls, and she wore a silver circlet. A circlet and the White Gems of Lasgalen accentuated her beauty.

Elladan praised her for her continued existence. And she extended her hand to Legolas with dignity. Telling him how content he was in that relationship. There she stood by Legolas. This time, she seemed much more brilliant than Legolas. The Ellon was wearing his silver circlet with great pride. As always, his beautiful blonde hair was flawless. He was dressed in a long, robe-like outfit made of silver and silk. It matched Xena's wedding dress. Under his robe, she had silver leggings that were almost concealed by the cloth. He was dressed in silver boots. The happiest grin he had ever shown was on his face.

The pair stood before Aragorn, who had begun the ritual. He felt fortunate to be a member of that union. This wedding was anticipated by many. It was a significant surprise. That they succeed in falling in love, accepting their emotions, and even having children.

It was almost dusk since it was late in the day. Beginning on the first day of winter, the hues of the sky were more than breathtaking. The placement of the ornamentation, the text, and everything else was exquisite. The bearer of the rings approached and offered them. The King of Gondor put silver elfin rings on each of their fingers. He questioned "If anybody has a problem with the marriage! Speak now or eternally remain silent." Thranduil remained still for a minute, causing everyone to go silent. He reasoned that he would just cancel the wedding. Aragorn only grinned and said "With the authority bestowed upon me, I now declare you husband and wife. You are permitted to kiss the bride."

Legolas leaned in and kissed Xena, but she did not wait and leapt over him, enveloping him and embracing him more passionately. Everyone applauded them. The arena was filled with shouts and applause as the groom brought his wife down the aisle toward the reception. For the meal to begin. Following the guests, the large tables were quickly filled. Finally, loud music was playing. Others were eating and drinking while others are dancing. As usual, the hobbits began drinking and dancing. Making Ithilien as boisterous as the Shire was. Couples were dancing, conversing, and appreciating the occasion.

Elladan and the Elvenking engaged in a drinking competition. In all honesty, no one really knew who won. The married couple spent most of their time caring for their kid and discussing potential names for him with their visitors and friends. The celebration lasted till morning. However, neither Xena nor Legolas could be located. They retired to their bedroom and finally solidified their relationship. On their wedding night, their 'fëar' discovered each other. It took them some time. Nevertheless, the trip was worthwhile.

Dawn discovered the married couple in their son's bedroom, all three of them sleeping on the child's bed. Today, they believed that the Valar had positioned them for happiness. They had traversed darkness and suffering, but suddenly there was a glimmer of hope. Obviously, they were aware that their existence would not be simple. Legolas had been terrified as long as he had been in Middle-earth. He had already heard the calling, and he would soon wish to sail away from Middle Earth. Xena was experiencing her own personal darkness. And she would wish to find tranquillity.

However, they decided to remain in Middle-earth and assist their family and friends for the time being.
