Chapter 4 – Devil Boys & Holy Maiden
Kuoh Academy - Occult Research Club - 4:27 A.M
As the sun rose on Kuoh Academy, we see Hikaru currently in the shower with a towel around his waist to protect his dignity. Right behind him was Rias who pressed her breasts against his back. The red-haired girl glided her fingers across Hikaru's chest before laying her hand against his left pectoral. Rias' entire body then began to glow in a red light as Hikaru could feel some of his strength coming back to him and the soreness from his injuries fade.
'So this is how Rias healed me when I died. Even though it's unorthodox, it does the trick. Though my healing factor already did most of the work before I got in the shower.' Hikaru thought to himself. "All set." "Thank you." Rias was finished healing Hikaru as he stepped out and put on some clothes. The boy saw Kiba and Koneko watching Akeno who was wrapping bandages around Issei's injuries. Because Issei doesn't have a healing factor like Hikaru, the brown-haired boy will have to heal the old fashioned way with rest.
"Even with your healing factor, there's still going to be some after-effects from the holy bullet and blade of light so take it easy right now." Rias said to the black-haired boy who nodded, still feeling some soreness where his injuries were. "You two were lucky we managed to reach you in time before the Stray Exorcist killed you." Rias said from the shower.
"Stray Exorcist? Are they like Stray Devils?" Issei asked before flinching as Akeno continued to wrap the bandages. Kiba decided to explain. "Stray Exorcists are exorcists who were exiled from the church either due to their bloodlust or were insane to begin with. With nowhere else to go to, most Stray Exorcists join with Fallen Angels." Hikaru looked at the blonde-haired boy with a glare.
"Are you saying that Asia is like them, because she isn't. She tried to protect me and Issei and you all saw what that Freed asshole did to her." Hikaru replied. Kiba could only close his eyes. Rias then came out of the shower with a yellow towel covering her body.
"We're not saying anything other than you two are Devils and for some reason, that girl is the servant of a Fallen Angel." Rias walked towards her desk, still in only her towel as everyone looked at her. "Those are the facts, Issei and Hikaru." Issei tried to argue but his words died in his mouth as Hikaru looked towards the floor in frustration.
Kuoh Town - Park - 7:27 A.M
The sun was high in the sky as it shone its rays on Kuoh. We then go to a certain park where Hikaru is currently doing one-handed pull-ups on the monkey bars, on his 45th rep. "46...47...48...49... gaaah!" Hikaru lost his grip and fell down on his butt. The boy soon got up with a face of resolve. "Let's try this again..." Hikaru then entered a jumping pose, prepared to leap up to the monkey bars and continue his pull-ups. However, a familiar voice called out to him.
"Hikaru." The boy looked to the voice to see it was Issei, now dressed in a long-sleeved red shirt, dark blue jeans, yellow shoes and a yellow overcoat. "Mind letting me go?" The brown-haired boy asked, Hikaru realizing he wanted to try and do some pull-ups.
The black-haired boy nodded, Issei giving Hikaru his overcoat and grabbed onto the bars. Issei then pulled with all his might, doing one pull-up. He then began to do a second but his left hand slipped. The boy refused to give up and tried doing a one-handed pull-up but his grip ran out. Issei soon fell down on his butt, similar to Hikaru. "That completely sucked. I'm just too weak right now..." Issei muttered to himself before seeing Hikaru's hand out to him. The brown-haired boy took the hand and was pulled up by Hikaru.
"Thanks..." Issei said. "No problem." Hikaru put his hands in his hoodie pockets. The two teens then began thinking about Asia, flashes of last night going through their minds but Issei and Hikaru shook them away.
'I promised Asia I wouldn't give up on her and I'm still holding onto that.' Hikaru glared at the ground. Issei was thinking something similar to Hikaru. 'I'm not going to bitch out now. We need to save Asia from that psycho priest and the Fallen Angels.' A female voice then called out to the two boys.
"Issei-san, Hikaru-san, is that you?" The two boys looked towards the voice to see it was Asia, alive and perfectly well. She was currently dressed in her normal nun clothes. Birds could be heard chirping as the three looked at each other.
""Asia?"" The two boys said at the same time, the blonde girl blinking in surprise and confusion.

The scene then cuts to the sun as the music plays

Hikaru is currently walking as he stares into the horizon before continuing then the scene cuts to Issei looking towards the sky before looking down with eyes of determination

Hikaru, Issei, Rias, Akeno, Kiba, Koneko and Asia are all walking together and making small talk

Hikaru is staring forward until Eclipse Driver appears on his right hand while Light Exceed Buster appears in his left hand

The scene then cuts to the ORC preparing for combat

All the members of the ORC are fighting unknown enemies with Kiba cutting them down, Akeno using her lightning, Issei fighting with the Boosted Gear, Rias using her Power of Destruction, Koneko punching them with her Rook strength, and Rassei protecting Asia by shocking them and finally Hikaru slicing with Light Exceed Buster and striking them with Eclipse Driver

A bright red flash of light then shines on Hikaru and a dust cloud appears as red eyes shine through

Sirzechs, Serafall, Ajuka as well as Sona and her peerage are quickly shown

Hikaru and Issei are shown screaming to the heavens

Static occurs then fades as a young boy sitting on the side of the street is looking down before his eyes harden

The boy gets up and starts running as the scene ends on a white flower dripping with a bit of blood

Kuoh Town - Restaurant - 7:45 A.M
Asia looked in confusion at the menu laid out for her, Issei and Hikaru having no problem due to being Japanese and already knowing the language like second nature. Hikaru soon flagged down a waiter to take our orders.
"So, what will you be all having today?" The waiter asked as he pulled out his notepad. "Can I have a regular hamburger with some fries and a Sprite?" Issei asked. "Same as him but an orange soda instead." Hikaru asked for the same food but with an orange soda. The waiter wrote down the orders and looked at Asia.
"And for the young miss?" The waiter politely asked the girl who was still having troubles picking the food. Hikaru looked at the scene with a small smile and he decided to help Asia out. "She'll have the same as us with a Sprite." Hikaru said, the waiter nodding and writing the order down. The man bowed and headed towards the kitchen to give the orders. Asia moaned in sadness.
"Ohhhh, I can't even order a hamburger right." The blonde girl said, Issei and Hikaru chuckling at her reaction. Issei decided to take some initiative. "Before coming here, what kind of foods did you eat Asia?" Issei put his hand to his cheek, Hikaru nodding. The girl looked sheepish at the question.
"Well, at the church I was raised in, I generally ate bread and soup along with some pasta foods." The blonde foreigner said, Hikaru taking note of that so that when he and Issei rescue Asia from the Fallen Angels, Hikaru can make something she'll enjoy. It didn't take long for the waiter to come back, now with Hikaru, Issei and Asia's food and laid it on the table for them.
"I hope you enjoy." The waiter bowed and headed to another table. Asia looked at her food, wondering why there weren't any utensils. Issei and Hikaru just took some fries and began eating them, Hikaru also drinking some of his soda. The two boys then noticed Asia's predicament and smiled at her like two big brothers.
"You eat the fries like this." Hikaru picked up the aforementioned food and ate it in one bite, chewing and swallowing. "And this is how you eat a hamburger." Issei said, grabbing his burger and taking a huge bite, enjoying the taste. Asia looked in awe. "So that's you're supposed to eat it." The blonde grabbed one of her fries, eating it and humming in delight.
"It's so yummy!" Asia excitedly said. She then took her hamburger and bit into it, taking a piece smaller than what Issei ate. "And this is even yummier!" Asia took a second bite and closed her eyes, Issei and Hikaru chuckling at how childish Asia was, like an actual kid learning how to read for the first time. The three teens soon started eating together.
"So, Asia, what made you decide to go to the park?" Hikaru asked the girl, Asia looking away in sadness before looking at her friends with her winning smile. "The weather's very nice today, so I thought I'd go out and get some fresh air." Asia said, her right index finger clenching and twitching. Hikaru was the only one who noticed that detail.
"Then, when I saw the two of you, my day got even better." Asia said with her smile still in place, but it was smaller than before.
Issei then put his left fist into his right palm. "You know what?" Asia looked at the brown-haired boy in surprise. "Seeing as how you're free, why don't we all hang out together?" Issei smiled. Hikaru smiled at what Issei was saying. "Yeah, we can show you all the landmarks that Kuoh has to offer, seeing as how you're foreign." Hikaru winked at Asia, the blonde girl's eyes widening at their responses before blushing and agreeing. "Sure!" She said with a smile.
Kuoh Town - Arcade - 8:17 A.M
A montage began playing of Hikaru, Issei and Asia all playing games at the arcade, first starting with a racing game. Asia was at one of the booths with Hikaru and Issei giving her tips. Soon, they went over to a fighting game, Issei losing while Hikaru managed to win against Asia, the girl smiling.
They then went to a dance platform game, Asia playing while Hikaru and Issei cheered her on. The three went over to the photo booth and took some pictures, some funny, some happy. As the trio was walking around, Asia noticed something that caught her attention. The blonde girl went to one of the crane games, looking at a plush. The plush was actually a small black dragon with a white belly, red eyes, and happy expression, its hands open in a hug.
"Is something wrong?" Issei asked Asia who jumped in shock. "O-oh! Yeah, I'm alright, nothing to worry about." Hikaru then looked closer at the plush, noticing its similarities to Bahamut. "How dare you?! I am not some kind of animal toy for humans to play with!" The black dragon indignantly said, Hikaru chuckling at his reaction.
"So, do you like stuffed animals?" Hikaru asked Asia, the blonde girl jumping in embarrassment. "N-no! I mean, I don't really need them or anything...well kind of. Yeah, I do like them." Asia looked down in embarrassment, her veil covering her eyes. Issei and Hikaru looked at each other and chuckled, the black-haired boy headpatting Asia who looked up in surprise.
"It's fine to want something once in a while. Why don't I get it for you?" Hikaru went to the controls of the crane game and inserted a yen coin, the game turning on. Hikaru expertly maneuvered the joystick as the crane moved. The crane was now right on the dragon plush as Hikaru pressed the button for the crane to move down and open. The crane took a good hold of the dragon's head, Hikaru moving back the crane so it was now on the hole where the prizes come out.
"Come on, come on..." Issei silently cheered Hikaru on as he didn't want to interrupt his flow, Asia watching alongside Issei. Hikaru pressed the button again and the crane released, dropping the dragon plush into the hole. "Yes!" Issei fist-pumped the air as Asia looked on with a smile. Hikaru grabbed the dragon plush and gave it to Asia, who pressed it hard against her chest.
"Thank you for winning me this, Hikaru-san. I'll treasure it for the rest of my life!" Asia closed her eyes and gave a bright smile, Hikaru smiling back at the girl. "Not a problem. Let's keep going around now." Hikaru brought his hands in a 'come on' gesture as he walked, Issei and Asia following him. Asia turned around the plush and hugged it even more, which would make anyone watching the blonde girl and the plush 'aww' at the cuteness of the scene.
"This really is special...even if it's just for today. Thank you, Hikaru-san." Asia muttered, walking a little faster to catch up with Issei and Hikaru.
Kuoh Town - Park - 8:39 A.M
As a soda can was dispensed out of a vending machine, Issei picked the can up for him to drink, Hikaru and Asia already having some drinks with Asia holding the plush she named 'Karu', after the last part of Hikaru's name, underneath her hip.
"You know, I can't remember having as much fun as I did today in the past." Asia said, taking a sip of her drink. "Really, I'm glad because I had an awesome time too. Ghrk!" Issei opened up his soda and began drinking it until his shoulder injury acted up again, making the brown-haired boy twitch in pain. Asia came up to Issei worried.
"You alright, man?" Hikaru asked. "I'm fine, but that seriously hurt." Issei clutched his shoulder. Asia only looked at the brown-haired boy's shoulder. "It's your wound from last night." Asia said. Issei nodded. "Yeah, it stings a little bit." The trio then walked to a different area where there aren't many people. They found a bench and sat down on it, Issei taking off his overcoat.
Asia then activated her Sacred Gear and placed her hands around Issei's shoulder, the green light shining as Asia healed Issei's injury. Hikaru looked at Asia's focused expression. 'She can't be like them, no matter what anyone tries to say. Why would she even heal Issei in the first place if she wasn't kind-hearted?' Hikaru rambled in his mind.
Asia soon finished up with Issei's shoulder and smiled. "All done. Does your leg hurt too?" "Yeah, a little bit." Asia then moved on to heal Issei's leg injury, getting up from the bench and crouching down so she can hover her hands over the injury. It only took a few seconds before Asia finished healing Issei's leg. "Is that good?" The blonde-haired girl asked the brown-haired boy. Issei got up from the bench to see how he feels.
"Yeah, it feels a thousand times better, amazing. And check out these awesome moves I have now!" Issei rotated his shoulder, completely fine before jogging in place a little bit. Issei turned to Asia with a smile. "Thanks so much, Asia." The blonde-haired girl smiled, thankful she helped out her friend. The trio of teens then sat back down on the bench.
Hikaru then decided to ask Asia a question. "Hey Asia. That power you have...is it a Sacred Gear?" The black-haired boy said, the blonde-haired girl's eyes widening at the question. Issei agreed, really wanting to know what was Asia's power. The foreigner nodded. "Yes, it is. Its name is Twilight Healing, the power I was given from God." Once she said the word that must not be said in a Devil's presence, Issei and Hikaru slightly flinched.
"Do you two want to know how I received it?" Asia questioned the two, wanting to get whatever was making her sad off her chest. The two boys nodded, prepared for anything because even if Asia will have a horrible backstory, she'll still be their friend. Asia took a deep breath and exhaled.
"When I was a baby, I was abandoned by my parents." Issei and Hikaru's eyes widened at this revelation. "They left me in front of a church in a small town in Europe. I was told that when I was found, I would never stop crying." An image was shown of Asia as a baby crying in front of a church's doors. "The sweet nuns raised me up to be a kind girl. Then, one day when I was around 8, a small puppy that was hurt found its way into the church where I lived. I prayed and prayed for God to help the poor thing. That was when a miracle happened." Another image was shown, this time it was an older but still younger Asia clasping her hands in prayer as her Sacred Gear activated for the first time, healing the puppy's wounds and the animal licked Asia's face, the girl laughing and smiling.
"Because of my Sacred Gear, I was immediately taken to a larger church. Men and women from all over the world would come to visit when they were either injured or sick and I was told to heal them all. The idea that I had this great power that could help a lot of people made me really happy. I finally had a purpose." A third image was seen, this time it was Asia in a cleric's clothes as she recited a prayer to everyone in the church hearing. "But one day, I found someone who was in very bad shape and had fallen." a fourth image appeared, which had Asia discovering the injured man she spoke about, the male having bat-like wings.
A fifth image was shown, this time it was Asia screaming and covering her ears as four males dressed in church clothes scream at her while the previous four images were shown as well. "I was able to heal the man, but he wasn't a man at all."
"This girl has the power to heal Devils!"
"Demon!"
"She's a witch! Burn her at the stake!"
The memory soon faded as we see Issei and Hikaru staring at Asia in concern. "They said anyone who had my power was nothing but a heretic, so I was exiled and ran away." Hikaru clenched his hands enough to draw blood.
'Those bastards...simply because she decided to heal a Devil and was capable of it, that means she's a 'witch'? What a load of bullshit...' Hikaru thought as his mind began going on. Issei and Asia unknowingly snapped himself out of it with their conversation. "That's just awful. So after running away, you decided to join the Fallen Angels?" Issei said, Asia nodding and looking towards the sky.
"Yes. But I'll never forget who I am. I perform my prayers and do my best to live a good life." Asia then had a slight frown on her face. "They're just awful. They do so much horrible things meant in the name of God." The blonde girl looked down, Issei and Hikaru looking at her with eyes of sympathy. "All this suffering must be a test of my faith. But if I manage to overcome these trials, someday I know, my hopes and dreams will come true. Well, that's what I think anyway." Asia said.
"So just what are your dreams?" Hikaru asked, Asia clenching her plushie even harder. "To make lots of lifelong friends that truly care for me. To learn what they like to eat, play and just generally care for one another." Tears began running out of Asia's eyes, Hikaru and Issei surprised at this. She then looked at the two boys with a smile.
"Honestly, I'd be happy to have just one friend." As Asia looked forward, the water of the fountain rippling, Issei and Hikaru's hands both clenched. Hikaru got up from the bench as Asia looked at him in confusion. The black-haired boy stood in front of the blonde-haired girl. "Is something wrong?" Asia asked. Hikaru just stood in place.
"I don't give a damn of what people say, we're your friends Asia." Hikaru says to the blonde foreigner who gasped. Issei stood up too. "That's right. I mean, how could we not be after everything that's happened today? We took you out to eat and we had fun at the arcade. If that doesn't make us friends, I don't know what will." Issei said. Asia just looked at the two boys in shock.
Hikaru and Issei smiled at Asia. "It's true. We all got to know each other a lot, wouldn't you say? And I got that stuffed animal for you as well, as a token of our friendship. And we both care for you, right Issei?" The black-haired boy said as Issei nodded in agreement. Asia looked at the two boys before her eyes watered and she smiled. "But we can't. I care for the two of you too, but we just can't." Asia shook her head and wiped away her tears.
"It's forbidden, the two of you and I don't want cause you both any trouble." Asia tried to say that they couldn't be friends but she was failing. Issei and Hikaru walked over to Asia. "I'm getting sick of people trying to tell you what you can or can't do. Because, no matter what anyone says, the one that decides if you can achieve your dreams is you and you alone." Hikaru said some of his father's words to Asia. The black-haired boy pulled up Asia from the bench.
"Really?" Asia sobbed out. Issei and Hikaru nodded their heads. The blonde-haired girl closed her eyes and smiled. "Thank you. Thank you so much, you two." A foot then stepped onto the water, black feathers falling. "Well, isn't that sweet? It's so sweet it's nauseating." A male voice said.
Issei and Hikaru's eyes widened as the two turned around, seeing Dohnaseek standing on the water in the pool, smirking at the three teens. "Son of a...it's Dohnaseek." Hikaru muttered, getting ready to fight and end this man's life once and for all.
"Sir Dohnaseek..." Asia said, taking a step back. Hikaru and Issei had Asia hide behind them so she wouldn't get attacked. "Got to admit, you have some luck if you managed to escape Freed. He's a complete lunatic, but good at his work." The trench-coat wearing man said. His eyes then hardened in a glare.
"Don't even think about running, Asia." The man said with hatred. Asia flinched but spoke. "Begone! I want no part in the evil you're planning to do, especially with you controlling the other angels like puppets!" Asia revealed. Hikaru's eyes widened, remembering the blue-haired Fallen Angel that attacked him and Issei and how she seemed off.
"I ran away from him. I'm sorry but I just couldn't stand being around them any longer." Asia apologized to the two boys, who just smirked. "Don't apologize." Issei said. Hikaru nodded. "Yeah, if anything, it was a good thing that you ran away. You don't belong with those has-been Angel reject killers!" Hikaru yelled. Hikaru then looked at Dohnaseek.
"So what in the hell do you want Dohnaseek?" The fallen man just smirked. "You two don't need to worry, it's not you I'm concerned with. But I do suppose I could finish what I started long ago." Dohnaseek said as Hikaru and Issei's eyes widened at the man was implying. Dohnaseek then summoned a blue light spear.
"Let's see what you two have to offer me in a fight." Dohnaseek then changed the light spear's shape into a sword. "A sword of light? Fuck..." Issei muttered. The fallen male smiled and spoke. "Whenever I fight someone, I always want to see what they have to offer in power." Issei then swung his arm.
"Sacred Gear!" Issei's bulky gauntlet manifested itself on his left arm, Hikaru following with Eclipse Driver. Issei smiled at his success of summoning his Sacred Gear. "It worked!" Dohnaseek looked at Issei's arm before beginning to laugh.
"HAHAHAHAHA! Oh, you must be kidding, that's all you have?" Dohnaseek, wiping away tears of laughter. Issei just looked on in confusion. "When I got the mission to kill you, I thought you would have some rare Sacred Gear, but that's just a Twice Critical!" Dohnaseek began laughing again. "Hold on, a Twice what?" Issei asked the fallen man.
"Also known as the 'Hand of the Dragon', it's only able to double its user's power temporarily. You may as well just deactivate it, it won't do you any good." Dohnaseek explained what Issei's Sacred Gear was, the brown-haired boy staring at his gauntlet in shame. "So that's all it does?" Issei muttered. Dohanseek then turned to Hikaru.
"As for you, you have the Black Dragon Emperor's Gauntlet, Eclipse Driver. It boosts your power with exponents, certainly a terrifying power when used correctly." Dohnaseek explained Hikaru's Sacred Gear as the black-haired boy. "I don't need your explanations, got it? Don't listen to this guy Issei, he's just trying to mess with you." Hikaru tried to assure Issei he wasn't that worthless, but the brown-haired boy just stared down.
"My superiors said that you were a Devil to be watched out for with your Sacred Gear. That was why I ordered Raynare or as you know her, Yuuma Amano, to lure you into a date and kill you. But that bitch backed out at the last second, so she needed to be punished." Dohnaseek said, Hikaru and Issei's eyes widening at this guy hurting Yuuma.
""Bastard!"" The two boys yelled out, glaring at Dohnaseek with hatred. "Let's get this over with!" Issei raised up his 'Twice Critical', ready to fight. Dohnaseek just glared at the two boys as if they were nothing to him. "If you think you can take me down, then you're sorely mistaken. Just give me the girl, take whatever's left of your pride and leave." Dohnaseek ordered the two boys who stood where they are.
"Like hell we are! Besides, we owe you some payback after trying to kill us two times!" Hikaru pointed at Dohnaseek, Eclipse Driver activating and boosting the black-haired boy's power by 40. Issei and Hikaru stepped forward. "If we can't protect our friends, then what good are we?!" Asia gasped at the two Devils' exclamation. Issei prepared his Sacred Gear.
"Double my power! Come on, show me what you're made of, Gear!" Issei's gauntlet began to shine in as a light emanated from the green gem.
"Boost!" The gauntlet called out, Issei feeling his power increasing. "It's working, I can feel the power!" Two light spears then pierced Issei and Hikaru's stomachs, the two boys completely caught off guard due to Issei's Gear. Blood gushed out of the two wounds as Issei and Hikaru fell to the ground in pain.
"Issei-san, Hikaru-san!" Asia screamed, dropping her plushie and running to the two injured boys who were holding their wounds. "Damn it..." Issei mumbled. "We got caught off guard..." Hikaru muttered, spitting out a bit of blood. "Nice catch there. Looks like your gear can't get the job done. If I were you, I'd be prepared for that." Dohnaseek mocked Issei and Hikaru, the boys glaring at the man.
A green light began shining from the side as Hikaru and Issei looked towards it. It was Asia, using her Sacred Gear, Twilight Healing. "What are you doing?" Issei asked. "I'm healing you two." Asia said with a face of determination, first beginning with Issei as the wound began closing up.
'Amazing! The pain's almost all gone.' Issei mentally said in awe. Asia finished up healing the brown-haired boy as she moved onto Hikaru, his wound lightly healing thanks to his healing factor and with Asia's help, the wound fixed itself almost immediately. "Thanks Asia." Hikaru thanked the blonde-haired girl as he stood up.
Dohnaseek laughed at the scene. "Come now, Asia. Be a good little girl and come with me. Your healing power will be infinitely more useful for our kind than what their Sacred Gears can offer." Asia hid her hands. "I knew it! You're only interested in me due to my Sacred Gear." Dohnaseek then made a huge spear of light, much larger than what Issei and Hikaru have seen.
"Why don't we make a deal? Agree to come with me, then I won't murder your little friends." The trio of teens just glared at the man. "Screw you asshat, she isn't going anywhere!" Issei got up and ran forward. Dohnaseek then vanished, black feathers left in the spot where he once was. Hikaru's eyes widened as he looked in the air, Dohnaseek flying and preparing to throw the spear.
"Get cover!" Hikaru yelled as he summoned Light Exceed Buster, Dohnaseek throwing the large spear. Issei pushed away Asia from the spear as Hikaru cut the light weapon in half. The two halves just hit the ground and shone brighter before exploding, engulfing Issei and Hikaru in a large eruption of light, sending the two boys screaming into the water.
As the light dimmed out, Asia looked up and stared at Issei and Hikaru, the two boys drenched. "Hikaru-san, Issei-san, no!" The blonde girl screamed. Hikaru and Issei tried to get up but they fell back into the water. "Son of a bitch, I've never seen a light spear that large and powerful..." Hikaru mumbled. Dohnaseek then landed next to Asia, who flinched away.
"I chose to spare their lives." Dohnaseek said. "If I wanted to, they would already be dead. Your friends gone, nothing but ashes." As Dohnaseek said this, Asia's face changed to a scared expression, realizing that her only friends, the people that cared for her even if they were Devils, were this close to death's door. The blonde girl looked down, her hair shadowing her eyes.
"Fine...I'll go with you." Asia muttered as she stood up. Hikaru and Issei just watched, crawling in the water to get to Asia. Dohnaseek walked behind Asia, his wings curling around their bodies with his hand on top of the blond girl's head. "That's a good girl. After we perform the ritual, all your worries and troubles will vanish forever. And I think I'll be seeing you two again soon." Hikaru and Issei got back up and ran towards Asia and Dohnaseek.
""ASIA!"" The two boys yelled out, extending their gloved hands out towards the blonde-haired girl. Asia just looked at the two with a smile and tears in her eyes. "Goodbye, you two. I'll miss both of you." Hikaru and Issei's eyes widened in surprise, Dohnaseek taking this chance to vanish with Asia, leaving only a few black feathers. Hikaru and Issei fell down to the ground, still soaking wet.
"No...why couldn't I save her?" Issei muttered. Hikaru just got up, not caring about the coldness of the water. He walked out of the pond and noticed two things left behind.
The plush Hikaru got for Asia and the photos of Hikaru, Asia and Issei. The black-haired boy picked the items, his drenched hair shadowing his eyes.
Hikaru's hands then clenched the items and plush he was holding.

Asia is smiling and has her hands in a prayer, her Sacred Gear shining.

Akeno fixes her ponytail, electricity sparking around her.
Kuoh Academy - Occult Research Club - 6:57 P.M
*SLAP* *SLAP*
As Koneko raised a chocolate donut to eat, the white-haired girl was startled when two loud slaps rang through the room. It was Rias who slapped Hikaru and Issei if the red hand-marks on their face were anything to go by. The red-haired girl stared at the two boys with a glare.
"Let me say this again. If I say don't, then you don't." Rias put her hands on her hips. "You two need to forget about Asia. You are members of the Gremory family now." Rias looked at the two boys with Issei looking away while Hikaru has his hair shadowing his eyes.
"Fine. Then it's about time you release us from your household." Issei said, deciding for Hikaru as well while the black-haired boy still made no sound. "Because I refuse to stand by and let her go." Issei turned his head, staring back at Rias.
"I'm sorry but I can't do that." Rias said. "Of course not. I'm your precious Pawn while Hikaru is your Vanguard, can't live without your most important pieces." Rias stared at the two with another glare.
"That's enough, Issei." The brown-haired boy stopped with his ranting. Rias then began to speak. "Pawns are important. They're not the weakest piece in the game, far from it." Koneko looked towards the scene as Rias sat down on her desk. "Do you two remember when I told you my Evil Pieces have the same attributes as their chess characters?" Hikaru nodded while Issei spoke in confusion. "Yeah, but what can a stupid Pawn do?" As he said that, an image of a chess board appeared with pieces on it.
The scene then zoomed in to a pawn as it absorbs a rook, knight, bishop and queen. "In this chess game, quite a lot." Rias said. "If a pawn advances deep enough into enemy territory, it can promote to all other pieces except the king." Issei began thinking about what Rias said. "So eventually, I can have the same powers as everyone else?" Issei asked.
Akeno then walked into the room, holding it open as Koneko walked up to talk to her. "Yes, but only if the master declares the area enemy territory, say for example, the Fallen Angels' church." Issei stared as his hands, in awe of how he could have everyone else's powers. "Now then, let's talk about your Sacred Gear." Rias changed the topic to Issei's Sacred Gear.
"Yeah, it doubles my power, right? Dohnaseek was the one who said that." As Issei spoke, he was cheerful before dimming down due to the mention of Dohnaseek, Hikaru's hands clenching at that man's name. Rias then put her hand on Issei's head, the brown-haired boy surprised at what she was doing. The red-haired girl had a smile on her face.
"Just feel it. Any Sacred Gear works by responding to the user's feelings. Or, to put it differently, the stronger the user's emotions, the stronger your Sacred Gear will become." Rias said. Issei just had an open mouth at this. "I...I didn't know. That's amazing." He simply said. Hikaru then began turning around and heading to the door.
"Hikaru, where are you going?" Rias asked the black-haired boy. He simply turned his head, his hair still shadowing his eyes. "I'm going out to clear my head. You don't need to call me, I'll be going back home." Hikaru said with complete confidence, Rias allowing him to exit the room as Akeno walked towards the red-haired girl.
The black-haired girl then whispered something to Rias, Issei not hearing a thing from them. As Akeno spoke, Rias nodded. The red-haired girl soon began walking, Akeno following her. "Something just came up. Akeno and I will need to step out for a moment." Issei turned around to Rias.
"Wait, I still have some questions." The brown-haired boy said. Rias just continued to walk. "Just remember. Even if you're promoted, no matter their ranking, one Devil cannot stand up to multiple Fallen Angels." A teleportation circle manifested itself underneath Rias and Akeno as the two vanished in a crimson light. Issei just looked on, his fists hardening.
"We'll just have to see about that, won't we?" The brown-haired boy muttered. Issei then began walking toward the door, his mind and heart made up on saving Asia. "You're still going?" Kiba called out to Issei. The brown-haired boy stopped. "Yeah. And I'm not going to let you stop me." Kiba just looked on with his signature smile.
"You might get killed." The blonde boy said. "I'm fine with that, as long as she comes out safe." Issei muttered. Kiba closed his eyes. "That's very brave of you. Stupid too. It's suicide." Kiba and Koneko at Issei as the brown-haired boy turned to the two members.
"Look, this is none of your business!" Issei yelled before stopping in confusion, hearing a clinking sound. It was Kiba, summoning his sheathed sword to his hip as he held the grip. "I'm coming with you." The blonde Knight said. Issei was still confused. "Wait, what?"
"Weren't you paying attention? Buchou said if you can get in that church, you can promote." The blonde boy said. "Uh..." Issei just made a sound of confusion. "But she also said you wouldn't be able to do it without some back-up." Kiba explained as Issei stared. "Yeah." That was all he said.
"So we're going to come and support you and there's no way in hell we'll let you go in without us, so just save your breath." Kiba said, Koneko right behind with her emotionless expression. "Koneko too?" Issei asked, the white-haired girl unfazed. "Nothing else going on, so might as well." That was probably the most words Issei ever heard Koneko say.
The three then headed out to the abandoned church.
Kuoh Town - Abandoned Church - 7:23 P.M
As Issei, Kiba and Koneko headed to the church, a girl could be seen in the forest surrounding the abandoned holy building on a branch. She wore a gothic Lolita attire which was a black dress with white frills, a large black bow on the front with a green oval gem on the collar, white thigh-high socks and black shoes. She also had a large black bow in her blonde hair which was styled into twin-tails.
The girl had blue eyes but similar to the Fallen Angel that Issei and Hikaru fought, they were emotionless, no light in them. The blonde girl looked around, searching for anything strange. Her attention was then brought to a bright crimson light to the side of her.
It was Rias and Akeno, appearing out of a teleportation circle. "Targets found." The blonde girl jumped down from the branch and stared at the two female Devils, her eyes emotionless.
"This girl is certainly cute, wouldn't you say?" Akeno said with her hand to her face. Rias just looked on with a smirk. "My servant sensed that you were here standing guard, which means your people must be worried about an attack." The girl didn't respond, just lifting up her hand.
"Eliminate." She said, a pink light spear appearing in her hand and gripping it. Rias and Akeno's eyes narrowed at the girl, wondering about her strange demeanor. Rias' eyes glowed before closing. "I see. It's mind control. One of your fellow kind must be controlling you." The red-haired girl said.
"You're not any harm to us, in fact, the person controlling you must be forcing you to do this." Rias' eyes then opened. "I may be a Devil, but I'm not without mercy." The red-haired girl then prepared her Power of Destruction as Akeno made some lightning.
The scene then cuts to the entrance of the church as Issei, Kiba and Koneko hid behind the trees and bushes, observing the entrance for any enemies. "Oh man, can you feel that?" Issei asked, referring to the large presence of Stray Exorcists in the church. "No kidding, there must be a ton of exorcists inside." Kiba said, his hand on his sword, ready for a fight.
"I'm starting to feel a bit glad you guys came with me." Issei sheepishly said, a sweat drop falling from his head. Kiba just closed his eyes and smiled. "Well, I mean you, me and Hikaru are friends, right?" The blonde boy's eyes then hardened into a glare. "The truth is I don't exactly like Fallen Angels. I honestly hate them." Kiba's eyes glared more, Issei surprised at the so-called 'perfect' Kiba having hatred for people.
"Well hey, don't hate all the Fallen Angels. I mean, Yuuma didn't want to kill me so all Fallen Angels can't be evil, right?" Issei asked the blonde boy who just looked at the brown-haired boy. "No promises." Kiba simply stated. Koneko then got out of the bush she was hiding in and walked to the church door.
"Wait, Koneko! Don't just walk out." Issei asked the white-haired girl who just kept walking. "No need to hide. They know we're here." Kiba and Issei headed the steps as Koneko raised her leg, kicking the door open. At that moment, a large pillar fell in front of the door, blocking the trio's way as large clouds of dust engulfed them.
"*COUGH COUGH*, what was that?" Issei asked as he waved the dust away. Koneko raised a fist and thrust it forward, punching the stone pillar and obliterating it. Issei, Kiba and Koneko then walked in. A large beam of red light then shone throughout the church. "What the?!" Issei yelled, covering himself with his Sacred Gear-covered hand.
As more dust blinded the trio, Issei and Kiba waved it away as they saw what caused the large beam. "Huh? Hikaru?!" Issei yelled out, seeing the black-haired boy with his Eclipse Driver gripping Dark Exceed Buster. There were also 6 small floating orbs in the air surrounding Hikaru.
Kuoh Town - Abandoned Church - 7:05 P.M - 18 minutes before
As Hikaru ran down the path to the abandoned church, he began thinking about what Rias said before. '"Yes, but only if the master declares the area enemy territory, say for example, the Fallen Angels' church." Issei didn't notice it at first because his head was still clouded, but why would you say that Rias? You don't want your Peerage to go out on a mission that doesn't involve us for our safety, so then...this must have been allowed by higher-ups.' Hikaru came to the conclusion.
"Bahamut, are you listening?" Hikaru asked, speaking out loud because he's currently heading to a place that no one goes to anymore, therefore he doesn't need to speak in his mind.
"Yeah, I'm here. What do you need?" The sealed dragon said. "Buchou said that Sacred Gears respond to the user's feelings, meaning the more powerful the feeling, the more powerful the Sacred Gear will become." Hikaru stated, Bahamut humming in his head.
"I already have an idea on what you plan on doing, saving that nun, but enlighten me on how you will save her." Bahamut asked, laying down on his theoretical arms.
"I want you to channel the determination and resolve I have for saving Asia, powering up Eclipse Driver and Exceed Buster. Can you do that?" Hikaru asked. "Normally, I would only be able to just focus all your energy into my Sacred Gear, but seeing as you have two, it's possible I can act as a circuit, sending the power to both of your Gears." Hikaru gained a smirk at this.
"Okay then, Drive 100!" "Drive!" The black gauntlet announced its call as Hikaru sped up due to the power increase.
"More!" "Drive!"
"Come on, I can take it!" "Drive!"
"Go to the limit!" "Drive! Drive! Drive! Drive! Drive! Drive! Drive! Drive! Drive! Drive!" Eclipse Driver kept calling out as Hikaru sped up even more, leaving tracks as he run.
On the 35th call, Eclipse Driver called out a new phrase. "Ignition!" The very second that call was announced, Hikaru felt a surge of power wash through him, he felt like he could take on anything. "This time, I'm taking them down!" Hikaru said to himself, bursting through the church as multiple Stray Exorcists jumped away from the door.
One of the exorcists had a cloak covering him as he took out two light swords and smirked. "You came into the wrong house, Devil scum!" The man rushed forward, preparing to slash at Hikaru. But it wasn't meant to be as the black-haired boy vanished from sight.
"What the...where did he-ghrkkk!" As the man spoke, an unimaginable pain came from his chest. The stray Exorcist looked down to see a black sword coming out of his chest, right where his heart is. The sword was then pulled out and his head was sliced off.
All the other exorcists looked on in shock and fear as a geyser of blood spurted out of the headless body. The bleeding soon stopped as the body fell to the ground. The person who committed this act was Hikaru, completely drenched in blood as he then used magic to clean the red liquid off. The boy then said one word.
"Die."
Six strangely designed drones came from Dark Exceed Buster as it turned into a thinner version of itself. Hikaru then rushed forward, stabbing his sword into an exorcist's throat. The drones moved away from Hikaru as they fired laser beams at the exorcists, some dodging and others getting hit as they fired and slashes at Hikaru, the boy dodging all the bullets and cuts.
"Come on, is that all? Those blasts are nothing more than bug bites." A random exorcist said, as the lasers the drones fired weren't lethal. Hikaru smirked. "Oh, trust me. Great things come from small beginnings. Plasma Chain!" Hikaru yelled out as he vanished in a red light. All of a sudden, a red bolt of lightning appeared and traveled at lightning-speed, shocking and killing all of the exorcists who were tagged by the drones' lasers.
"The hell?!" An exorcist said before her eyes widened as she was stabbed from behind in the abdomen. Hikaru vanished once more as the drones fired, tagging all of the remaining exorcists.
"Plasma Chain!" The same bolt of lightning appeared as Hikaru cut down the remaining tens of exorcists inside, the black-haired boy completely pristine. However, all the firing from the drones, the exorcists' light swords and guns, along with Hikaru's extreme-speed slashes, damaged a large pillar as it began falling down. Hikaru looked behind, not caring for the pillar. He then looked back forward.
"Well, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Promotion, Rook!" The black-haired boy yelled out, a red light shining from him as a faded image of the Rook piece appeared and centered around his body before breaking into small orbs of light.
The pillar then broke behind Hikaru as Issei, Kiba and Koneko walked in, the two boys waving away the dust from the broken pillar. Issei then noticed Hikaru.
"Huh? Hikaru?!" Issei yelled out, Kiba and Koneko also noticing the black-haired boy who just turned around to them and said one word with a smile.
"Yo."

The marble then exits out of view while a stone wall showed three people, one with white feathered wings, another with bat wings, and one with black feathered wings all preparing to fight each other

The scene then cuts to Hikaru leaning against a wall before moving to show Rias with her wings out and smiling and Issei talking with Asia

The ORC is shown to be fighting a large Stray Devil, with Rias, Akeno, and Asia providing support while the four fighters ran towards the stray

Kiba uses Sword Birth to pierce the stray's left arm and legs while Koneko and Issei fought it head on

Hikaru then charges, preparing to slash the stray with the demonic shadow roaring behind him

The screen flashes white before showing the boy from before looking up to the sky as it cycles between the sun and moon

The sun and moon cycle before coming together into a solar eclipse with the sky turning blood red as the marble from before starts bouncing and rolling again

We then see glimpses of what appear to be monsters and humans fighting before the marble exits out of view to show humans fighting against the three figures from before
