Leah and Loki walked the long route back to their chambers just enjoying each other's company. Leah had her arm wrapped around Loki's which meant that Loki was able to keep Leah close against his body as they walked. Neither of them said anything but the smiles upon their faces said how happy they were. Leah occasionally glanced up at Loki, seeing how happy he was, which made her smile further feeling a huge warm feeling within her. She just remembered the broken man she met and everything they had been through had all been worthwhile for moments like this. Even making the choice between her friends and brother was worthwhile to see the man she so deeply loved this happy. They took their time walking through one of the gardens when Leah finally spoke up with the one thought that returned to her mind.
"What will happen now with the wedding?"
"What do you mean little one?" Loki frowned looking a little confused at her obviously not understanding what she meant.
"I mean with me being pregnant again, that is not going to cause any problems is it?" Leah expanded her question knowing that obviously with Astrid, them having children it wasn't that much of an issue but considering they were classed as royalty there may be things she needed to know.
"It will go ahead as it always was going too." Loki smiled down at her looking confident about the matter which reassured her that it was fine. "It is not like they can claim you're a virgin because of our daughter." Loki seemed amused by this statement. "I cannot see there being an issue you being pregnant when we wed. What did the healers say?"
"Not much, I was there for Helena really, she was worried something was wrong." Leah shrugged thinking about her friend and wondering how she was doing knowing she needed to check on that. "I must check on how she and her baby are." She glanced to Loki to see he did not look that concerned if anything slightly irritated with her that she was not checked over herself. "Plus Astrid was there too so I didn't want her to worry."
"You need not concern yourself with your handmaiden another can always be fetched." Loki told her seriously which made her stop walking and look at him horrified by what he said. She thought he would know how much Helena meant to her considering that she had been the one that Leah spent the majority of her time with. Surely he would know that they were more than just mistress and servant, that they were at least friends.
"No. I only want Helena, I trust Helena." Leah stated knowing that she needed to make her point clear. After she promised Helena her job was secure she did not want to let her down. "We are keeping her. Plus Astrid adores her."
"And when she gives birth." Loki added looking down at her seriously. "She will need time to care for her child not ours. Her own family needs will be more, therefore she will be unable to perform the duties that she is required to do."
"Then maybe we will do more than we do already." Leah replied staring into his green eyes seriously knowing that she needed to be firm in her words. "Please Loki do not appoint me another woman, I promised Helena her job was secure. Please love, do not make me let a friend down." She looked up at him with her big silver orbs begging him with her eyes. "Please."
"I will consider it." Loki sighed shaking his head at her smiling slightly obviously amused at her persistence in the matter.
"Thank you." She smiled back at him. "Oh Astrid is talking too, she called me Momma this afternoon."
"Really." Loki looked down at her grinning now; she could see the swell within him of how proud he was about it. "I can't wait to hear that."
"She is a bright little girl." Leah shrugged thinking about her as they began to walk again a happy smile spreading across her own face. "She takes after her father in that department . I am just glad she gets my good looks." She glanced up at him mischievously, biting her lip slightly looking to Loki who was chuckling at that comment
"Are you trying to wound my ego little one?"
"I would not know what you mean." Leah giggled at him.
"Are you suggesting I am not handsome?" Loki continued playing along with her joke.
"I was only saying." Leah began laughing "That I think I am the better looking out of the two of us."
"Really." Loki drawled before he scooped her up into his arms and held her bridal style in his arms as Leah shriek laughing out loud. Her lungs almost exploding from the laughter that came out of her mouth.
"Loki." Leah cried out between fits of laughter.
Loki's lips quickly crashed down against hers she just wrapped her arms around his neck still giggling at his actions and their joke. Slowly Loki pulled back looking at her seriously keeping her in his arms comfortably.
"You are beautiful Leah." He whispered in her ear.
"And you are handsome." She sighed brushing one of his long black strands of hair behind his ear looking at him seriously. "I still think all of this is a dream, that you are you now not that angry man I met on Midgard. Not the one who held me hostage. You have changed so much since I have gotten to know you. You seem happier."
"I am happy for the first time in centuries." Loki looked at her smiling. "You have made me that way little one, you made me think differently, I do not know how else to explain it but all I do now is to prove myself to you and our daughter."
"Thank you." Leah kissed him softly on the lips trying to let all her love for him flow through that one kiss even though she knew it was impossible.
They just spent a minute kissing each other with need and love. Her heart pounded as she knew that she loved Loki more than she could possible describe or had ever imagined. There was some laughter which they ignored before someone called to them.
"Put your bride to be down brother."
They pulled apart from the kiss looked up to see Thor smiling as he walked towards them. Loki gently set her feet to the floor but keeping his arms wrapping them tightly around her.
"Brother." Loki nodded greeting him.
"I was coming to speak with Leah actually." Thor told them as he stopped before them. "I was going to ask if you wanted to be in the observatory as Jane arrives back to Asgard for a while to attend your marriage?"
"Of course." Leah smiled back at Thor. "When does she arrive?"
"Tomorrow morning."
"We need to go to the healers tomorrow little one." Loki muttered glancing down at her still smirking, she knew that he wanted to make sure everything was going okay with the pregnancy so far.
"Healers?" Thor frowned at the pair of them obviously not knowing the news about her pregnancy yet.
"Leah is carrying another child." Loki smiled up at his brother, Leah could hear how happy Loki was about it now compared to earlier. She just smiled and nodded as Thor looked to Leah with surprise. "We are going to be a large family by the look of things." Loki added.
"Congratulations." Thor beamed looking a little shocked and pleased at the same time. "We must organise a feast to bless the child's health."
"A wedding and a feast, really?" Leah laughed at Thor's suggesting glancing over to Loki who seemed to be thinking along the same line as his brother. "Surely that is too much for a short space of time?"
The men both chuckled at her, she really didn't understand the need for the number of feasts which were held. Leah glanced at the two men standing with her rolling her eyes, their need to drink with friends was obviously very important.
"I will leave you too, congratulations." Thor placed a kiss on Leah's hand making laugh before he pulled Loki into a brotherly embrace. "I will find you tomorrow Leah."
"Okay." Leah nodded smiling at the thought of having a normal person to speak to and run ideas pass before the wedding.
They made their way back to the chamber seeing that the Queen was sitting by the fire with a sleeping Astrid. The Queen looked up at them as they entered, Leah just smiled at the sight before her. Astrid looked so peaceful in the Queens arms. She knew the bond which Astrid had with the Queen was special, she was just pleased that Astrid had someone like that considering Leah never experienced having a grandmother in her life.
"So you two have spoken by the smiles on your faces." The Queen pointed out.
"Yes." Leah nodded glancing at Loki who seemed completely fine about his mother knowing the situation already. "Has Astrid been alright?"
"She ate the rest of her meal, we read a story together, played before she fell asleep here." The Queen explained "She is a clever girl."
Leah just nodded before gently lifted the unconscious child out of the Queens arms and heading in to the bedroom , where she lay her down within her cot.
"Really." She heard Loki said loud enough to hear which made her think and wonder what was going on in the other room.
Leah just frowned slightly as she tucked Astrid into bed before stepping out of the bedroom to see Loki hugging his mother. Whatever had just been said it had pleased Loki, she just smiled at the pair of them together. Loki loved his mother dearly even after all that had happened, for some reason the bond between them had never broken down. Leah had always wondered why but had never questioned it as she knew Loki would not want to discuss that if he was unwilling to talk about why he would still not call Odin father. As the pair of them pulled away, the queen looked up noticing Leah standing in the door way beaming at her.
"The wedding has been brought forward it will now be within the week. Odin thought it would be a good idea to keep your pregnancy a secret at least then we are setting an example." The Queen explained looking at Leah. "Ideally we would prefer this to be the first child but Astrid is too perfect to think about it like that."
"Oh." Leah stared at the Queen wide-eyed feeling slightly shocked that she would say such a thing. She knew however she was marrying into another world and another way of living and she had to accept. She still thought though it was slightly backwards considering how advance they were meant to be and how much sexual activities seemed to go on. "That is…" She looked to Loki who was smiling broadly. It was not how she imagined it was going to be, considering how much planning that seemed to be needed and how much they actually had done. There were still big parts like a bridal gown and traditional parts yet to be done. "Amazing news." Leah added sound pleased but feeling a little reluctant, she knew it was making Loki happy which was one of the things that mattered to her.
"I will leave you two." The Queen smiled at them giving Loki another hug and kiss before doing the same with Leah. Loki then guided his mother out of their chambers before shutting the door a large smile on his face.
"That is good news is it not?" Loki glanced at her
"Just a little surprising." Leah muttered glancing at him trying not to upset him at all. "I didn't expect it after what you said earlier. I mean there was another three weeks to go till we were going to marry any way, I just didn't expect it to be brought forward like this."
"But you're happy?" Loki frowned, Leah could see the worry that entered his eyes.
"Of course." Leah nodded trying to reassure him.
"I mean Odin think it's for the best." Loki shrugged going over to the table and pouring himself and Leah a goblet of wine before handing it to her. "And I cannot complain about that decision. Not that I would for once."
"When will you forgive Odin?" Leah frowned holding on to the goblet but not drinking any of it, not particularly feeling in the mood for wine now she knew she was pregnant. "I mean he is trying." She just watched as Loki seemed to ignored her comment, she just sighed knowing he was still not ready for that conversation with her. She just placed the goblet down before letting out a yawn and sighing. "I am heading to bed."
"I will join you in a minute." Loki said looking to her. "I have some work to do before bed."
Leah went back into the bedroom checking on Astrid before she changed into her night-gown and climbed into bed. She felt happy and relaxed which made resting come easier as the moment her head hit the pillow she was asleep.
