Me: Yay! Before the story continues, I'd like to dedicate this chapter to Heartless demon wolf, because he gave me a lot of ideas for this and the last chapter, right Thalia?
Thalia: Well, yea, but have you read one of his stories?
Me: Yes. So?
Thalia: On one of them, he made me have *
sex* with Percy.
Me: Suck it up, master. He's awesome, and a pretty chill guy! No more disclaimers. 1) Too many. Duh, I'm not Rick Riordan.2) How could I even claim I made PJO with "By Rick Riordan" in huge letters on the cover? Common sense, people. Plus, I don't own The Wizard Of Oz. I wasn't even born yet.

I ran towards the mechanical thing. It was 20 feet tall, easy. I checked that Percy was doing good, because, made of straw, it must be pretty hard to fight. But he was managing. He had Anaklusmos out. He looked like a scarecrow tired of ravens, so he decided to murder them instead. I heard Evalyn cry out. I turned and saw that the beast had grabbed Evalyn and was crushing her. I needed a distraction. Great. Only 20 seconds into the fight, and already Evalyn managed to get herself captured. She's not all people say she is.

"Hey, stupid! Come get me, you big menzo!" I don't know what that means, but Evalyn's twin brother Ivan gets angry when she calls him that, so it seemed like an appropriate word. And it worked, because it dropped Evalyn like a rag doll, and headed towards me. Then I realized that I just replaced Evalyn on the Endangered Teen list. Then I saw Percy jump at it and get it's attention. Evalyn ran to me.

"Thanks, but I could handle it." Uh-huh. "Anyway, I have a plan. We have to tear it's head open and shoot a lightning bolt at it and then, hopefully, shorting it out. You catching my drift?"

"Yes. Let's do it." I ran towards it once again. I had no idea how to tear it's head open, but I trusted her. Then I looked at her and she mouthed Get ready.I had no idea what she was talking about untilI had no time to think about it anymore, because the monster was in the process of swooping it's big ugly hand at me. Then I saw Evalyn raise her sword, and scream "Come on, dad, don't let me down now!" Then she said, "Rise, my subjects! Riiiiiise!" Then, dead corpses rose from the ground, and got behind her. Impressive! She cackled, (I swear, she seems more and more like a witch) and turned to the monster.

"Now, you will face my army of…" She turned. She had an army of….."Bunnies! "Percy asked. This is a haunted forest, people! I expected more human corpses, you know? The monster looked confused but it didn't last long. It swooped one arm towards me.

I braced myself, but then something strange happened. Time- slowed- down. I took advantage that its hand was near the ground and jumped on it and ran up to the head. Then, with a deep breath, I jammed Sparky into the head.

Unbelievable. I only managed to make a small, circular hole, barely the size of a penny. Then time sped up again and the beast grabbed me by my shirt and threw me off. I landed on my face. It hurt. A lot.

"Estupido! No one throws my friend onto the ground and gets to enjoy it!" It was Evalyn. I rolled onto my back and saw her brown eyes flash red. Ok, to be specific, her left eye is hazel, and the right is brown. I don't know why, so don't ask. So her eyes flashed red, then black, and stayed black. And her voice changed.

"Do you know who I am? I am Evalyn Cruz, Slayer of the Mighty Kraken, and Protector of Haven of the Fairy Folk." She was talking gibberish to me. Then she seemed to realize that her voice had sounded like Darth Vader, and cleared her throat. Then she jumped into the air and like a jet, flew straight up until she disappeared into the fog. Then, like a drill, she fell with her fist aimed straight at its head. There was a loud BANG! and Evalyn slipped off the monster, onto her knees she dropped, and passed out. Super strong one second, weak enough to pass out the next. Way to go, Evalyn. I noticed, though, that she had made my penny-sized whole roughly the size of a soccer ball. Big enough for, say, a lightning bolt to slip inside and short out your circuits.

So I did what I was supposed to: I called down a bolt that would make Zeus proud with a yell, and sent it into the mechanical giant. It started spasming violently, but Percy really helped out by jumping on it and stabbing the thing's "brain" until it dropped suddenly. On Evalyn. Percy seemed to realize this, too, because we both ran towards the beast. We tried to roll it off my best friend, but it wouldn't budge, not even a millimeter. This thing was a problem, whether it was dead or not. I couldn't help think, Oh, no. if she dies, that make it fifteen times. And it's gonna be my fault for not pulling her to safety.

I tried and tried to push off the mechanical monster, but it was just too dang heavy. I turned to Percy. "Keep trying to push. I'll look for help," I said. Without waiting for him to reply, I turned and ran randomly to the left of me. I don't know how I was to find help in the middle of a scary forest, but I was desperate. Lots of people depend on Evalyn to come home after this: Ivan, her twin bro, her boyfriend Horace, Nico (who is clueless about a lot of things), and her other brother,7 year-old Fernando, who can't even pick up a sword.

Then I felt like I was being watched. Someone ducked in the shadows. I ran where I saw it and found… Tyson! Good old strong, Cyclops Tyson! Tyson, who could move huge monsters if he wanted to. I ran up to him. He was holding a small remote and a guilty expression was on his face. It didn't take a genius to know what that remote does. Or once did. He was about to say something, until I said "No need to explain, I know you didn't know it was us, but I really need you to help me!" He followed me wordlessly to the clearing where Percy was trying to push off the thing.

Tyson reached the monster and immediately started to push the monster off. He did it so easily, I couldn't help it but to feel impressed. Once he was done, I ran around to where I could see Evalyn. How would she look like? A pancake? Or past recognition? I was about to find out.

She looked better than I expected, except for the scarlet lines running from both sides of her lips. I was so happy, I fell to my knees. But Percy and Tyson looked surprised. "What? What's wrong?" I asked.

"Don't you see it, Thalia?" Percy asked. I shook my head. "Look closely at her, Thals." So I did. I didn't see anyth- ohhhhhhhhhh! I should have noticed from the beginning! Evalyn was three and a half feet too short. Her hands were missing some scars, and her face was rounder. Her eyes seemed larger, even if they were closed. In other words, my best friend was a 3 year old again.
