Leah sat in her and Loki's bedroom only a month after their wedding. She was alone looking out of the window smiling, even though her eyes felt heavy and her body weak after the night that had just been. Loki had gone to speak with Thor and his father telling them the news. Which gave Leah a moment alone with their new born son in her arms, the news which Loki had gone to give. A little surprise to all considering that he had come suddenly and early by the size of her small bump the day before. However Leah could not hold that against her little boy, he was perfect in every way to her. She looked down at him as he slept peacefully in her arms, her mind drifted back to how the night had begun.

"Your my wife and my children's mother. It is my job to protect you little one." Loki turned to her looking exhausted from the conversation they were currently in the middle of. "Give it a few weeks and once the baby is born you can go and visit your brother as often as you like. I just do not want you going into Labour down there or put into a situation that I cannot do anything about."

"Look at the size of me." Leah leant back in the chair rubbing her small round abdomen, feeling the baby bump underneath her fondly. "I was three times the size of this when Astrid came, I do not think that I am due any time soon."

"I will not take any chances." Loki shook his head at her. "We will go down together then and congratulate your brother on his marriage to that woman."

"Her name is Natasha." Leah added.

"Trust me, he will understand, plus how could you show your face with all of them there." Loki glanced at her. "Both of us are banished from Midgard, surely it will not be a welcoming party their waiting for either of us."

Leah let out a sigh, she knew that he had a very good point with that. Natasha had not spoken to her since she choose Loki over them. She would hardly think her friend would welcome her back with open arms, her opinions on Loki was worse than Clint's were. She just crossed her arms over her bump and sat there silently knowing that he was right. She could hear Loki let out a sigh before sitting down beside her and placing a hand on her growing bump.

"He will understand." Loki said reassuringly. "He knows the risk. We will visit once the baby is born and once you have recovered from the birth. I do not want to lose you over anything Leah, it's the only reason I am saying no."

"I understand." Leah nodded turning to look into his green eyes. "I will explain all of it to him and say we will visit after."

Loki just placed a kiss on her forehead before leaving her to carry out some work. Leah knew he was right and that it was the best thing for them to do. She however also felt that she was letting her brother down in a way.

Leah went to bed falling to sleep, getting all the rest she could while the Queen looked after Astrid. She slept peacefully till late in the evening when she woke pain coursing through her body. She could barely move. Pushing herself up into the sitting position she could feel the dampness of the sheets, around her. She took a couple of deep breaths trying to slow her erratic heart beat and get her head around what was happening when the urge to push came.

"No, no, no, no." Leah cried as she realised that she was in labour. It was far to early, she was so small and was still growing. She looked around knowing that she was alone, no one was due to come for a while. The Queen was looking after Astrid for the night, Helena finished early these days to look after her baby daughter and Loki could work till the early hours of the morning. Panic set in as she realised that she was on her own through this. Listening to what her body was telling her she pushed, tears streaming down her face.

After a good couple of pushes Leah could feel what felt like the baby's head between her legs. She took the moment to rest between contractions. She heard the door open to the chambers between her panting.

"Help." She screamed.

Loki ran into the room seeing the sight before him, his eyes widened and mouth slackened. Leah just stared at him sobbing as he stepped over to her taking her hand.

"One more push Little one." He told her looking at her seriously. "For our child."

Leah just nodded as the next contraction came she pushed clinging onto Loki's one hand as he helped guide their child out. She collapsed back as the contraction dwindled and her energy was completely spent. There was a couple of seconds of silence which made her heart drop.

"L..Loki." She sobbed.

"He is taking his time." Loki stood up rubbing the child in some blankets however she could hear the panicked tone of his voice. "Its okay".

Leah just stared at Loki as he worked on their son still there was a cough and a cry, which made her cry even louder. Loki gently wrapped the little boy up in dry blankets handing him to Leah.

"Our son." He smiled

"Don't do that to me." Leah scolded the little boy before looking up at Loki. "Thank god you came back."

"You did everything alone." Loki smiled at her brushing the damp hair off her face and kissing her softly on her lips. "Rest for a moment I will get the healers to come immediately. You did so well." He stood up before leaving her alone with their son.

Leah just sat there staring at the baby in her arms as he breathed in and out. He was perfect in every little way. Leah leant back in the chair she was sitting in still feeling utterly spent after the nights drama but happy at the same time. The door opened and closed but she didn't bother turning to see who it was as she heard the conversation which made her grin.

"Your mother is still very tired and your little brother is very small so you need to behave and be gentle." Loki said sternly as he appeared holding Astrid's hand as she grinned at her mother nodding.

Loki picked up the little girl letting her have her first glance at her little brother, the little prince. She stared for a couple of minutes just frowning at him taking everything in before smiling slightly.

"What's his name?" Astrid asked looking at both her parents.

"We haven't named him yet sweetie, it takes time." Leah smiled at her daughter. "But just remember he is always going to be your little brother. So you need to love him and look after him for us. Can you do this as a big sister."

Astrid just stared at Leah for a moment before nodding enthusiastically. Loki set her down as she ran off to the other room. Leah scooted to one side of the seat letting Loki sit down beside her as she began to lean into him.

"So names." Leah glanced up at him. "I think you should name him as if you had not come back when you did. I think today we would have been grieving today instead."

"Never worry about things like that." Loki shook his head wrapping a protective arm around her. "I will always be here to protect you." He then fell silent for a moment watching his son sleep peacefully. "Lif. It means life."

"Appropriate." Leah nodded looking down at her son. "Lif."

Loki just pulled Leah further against him as he placed a kiss on her lips careful not to disturb the sleeping baby. Astrid then returned with some toys which she thought her little brother may want. Loki just pulled her up on his lap. Leah looked at all of her family smiling to herself, she had never thought that on meeting Loki the first time that he was her soul mate and the man she would love forever. But after all they had been through together, even when they had fought, the signs had all been there. They had loved each other from the moment they met and with all the changes they had made and sacrificed for each other, the love had always been there within their hearts.

This was the last chapter. Eek. Sorry it had taken so long, it has been one of the hardest chapters to right and you wouldn't believe how many ending I have made but I thought this was appropriate to introduce the new member of the family before finishing this story. Thanks for all the reviews and comments. They have been a great help. Glad you have enjoyed. Thanks. x
