Chapter 3

Author's note: Hello again. Sorry it's been a while. Anyway, it took me a while to figure out where the story was going to go, but I think I got it now. I'll try to post more frequently. As per the usual, I don't own Rosario + Vampire, or any of the characters. Enjoy!

Scene Break

"How could you sell me out like that," Tsukune accused as he nervously pacing on his side of the room. "You gave her my blood for crying out loud!"

Tsukune and Kurumu, being siblings, shared their own room, and were currently fretting their dilemma. "Look, Tsukune, I don't like this any more than you do, but she threatened to expose you if I didn't agree", Kurumu pouted. "Besides, it's not so bad. I mean, it shouldn't hurt too much."

Tsukune stopped his pacing to stare at his sister in disbelief. "That's . . . You're . . . It's . . ." Unable to form a coherent sentence, Tsukune groaned in disbelief and collapsed on his bed, feeling defeated. Kurumu sighed at this display, and sat down on her brother's bed next to him, gently stroking his scalp.

"Hey, it's okay, Tsuki," she cooed. "Things will get better." At these words, someone came knocking on their door. Kurumu got up to see who was there, and was shocked to see the girl from class today. The one who had been running away.

"Tsukune," Kurumu called. "I think it's for you." Surprised to have a visitor, Tsukune rose to his feet and went to the door. "Yes, how can I-" The rest of his sentence died in his throat as he took in the full beauty of his fellow classmate. Standing in the hall, looking slightly abashed, was the pink-haired beauty from class, looking just as attractive now as she had when Tsukune first laid eyes on her. As he took in her figure-her exquisitely long legs, her shapely hips, her flattering midsection, her gorgeous pink hair, her enchanting face-, he couldn't help but drool a little.

"H-h-hi, h-how can I h-h-help you," the poor, mostly average boy stammered, trying not to get a nosebleed. He mostly succeeded.

"Oh, hello," the pink-haired girl replied pleasantly, smiling at her peer. "My name is-"

"Akashiya Moka. I remember," Tsukune interjected, stumbling in his self-consciousness. "I, that is, I remember you entrance, I mean!" At that point he decided to stop speaking, as every word came out wrong.

Blushing a little, the girl –Moka- replied, "Yeah, sorry about my sister. She can be a little . . . extreme." Feeling a knee-jerk reaction to comfort the girl in front of him, Tsukune immediately brushed off the incident with "Oh, don't worry about that. It was just a little misunderstanding." This time the words came out as he'd hoped that they would, and he breathed a sigh of relief knowing that he hadn't embarrassed himself twice in a row.

Moka suddenly brightened, exuding joy to the point that it was all little Tsuki could do to keep from blinding himself with her brilliance. "Oh, good, I'm glad we can put that little matter behind us," she said, a big smile gracing her features. "I'd hate to start off the school year by rubbing someone the wrong way."

Swiftly changing topics, Moka asked, "So, since you're in these dorms, you must have a sibling living with you, are they here? I'd love to meet 'em."

When Tsukune didn't say anything, or move for that matter, Kurumu took it upon herself to unstick his brain. "*Ahem* Hi, nice to meet you. I'm Kurumu, Tsukune's sister." As she went over to greet Moka face-to-face, she elbowed her dumbstruck brother in the ribs, successfully breaking him from his trance.

With a grunt of thinly masked pain, Tsukune straightened himself up, then stepped to the side of the doorway. "Would you care to join us? We don't know that many people here, and would love to make a new friend." His invitation did strike Kurumu as just a little bit forward, but since she was banking on using the room for 'nefarious' purposes, any excuse he had to be out of the dorm regularly was a plus.

"Sure! I'd love to," Moka agreed, stepping into the room. Tsukune, ever the gracious host, offered the guest a drink, which she politely declined. Tsukune grabbed a cola for himself, then sat on his bed, which was set against the wall perpendicular to his sister's.

"So, are you a vampire like your sister," He asked, opening his can simultaneously. Blushing a little, Moka replied, "Yeah, our whole family is." With a sigh, Moka replied, "It's pretty violent."

Tsukune was startled, not expecting such a gentle person to come from such a home. Maybe her psychotic sister, but not this beautiful teen. But, of course, he more than others knew that looks could be deceiving. He was banking on it to survive, after all.

Kurumu, of course, simply nodded her head, easily accepting this. "Makes sense. With that much power in one place, it's a wonder the house is still standing."

With a chuckle, Moka replied, "It's been rebuilt several times." With another chuckle, she added, "Half of the repairs were Kokoa's fault, though."

"What's your sister's problem," Tsukune asked. "If I didn't know better, I would never have guessed that you two were related." Kurumu perked up at this comment, suddenly intrigued.

With a blush, Moka looked away, murmuring, "She's just a little . . . edgy. It's a family thing." Her hands idly played with her skirt hem, discomfort clear in her body language.

Tsukune, not wanting to see his new friend suffer, quickly changed the topic. "Ah, well I'm sure she'll work it out with you soon enough. *yawn* After all, she's got you to look up to."

Noticing the yawn, Moka stood up, brushing imaginary dust off of her blouse. "Thank you so much for the hospitality," she uttered, a benign smile on her face. "But I really must be going now. See you both in home room!" With a cute wave, she left the room, walking down the hall towards her own.

Tsukune sighed, laying back on his bed with the thoughts of Moka floating almost tangibly before his eyes. Kurumu chuckled as she walked to the shared bathroom. Her brother, hearing the subtle noise, quickly snapped to full attention, a deep blush on his face. He knew that chuckle anywhere.

"Don't you dare try to play matchmaker again, Kuru," he said sternly, trying to head off the confrontation before it was too late.

"Won't have to," said succubus replied from the bathroom before turning on the sink. "It'll be hard to keep you two apart, I can already tell."

Now Tsukune blushed furiously, his words completely backfiring. "It's not like that," he protested as he steeled onto his bed.

"Whatever," came the reply as Kurumu walked back into the room in her PJ's. "She's totally got the hots for you." She turned the light out before crawling into her bed, sliding under the covers.

With a sigh, Tsukune turned on his side, sleep not far from him. It won't matter, he thought. Not with Kokoa involved.
