Dragon's Edge

When Stormfly landed on the Edge's stable to find the usually filled stable, empty. Astrid found it strange. She jumped down off the Nadder's saddle to find if anyone was here. She went down the many ramps to find the Great Hall, Forge, Huts, everything deserted. She gripped her axe listening to Stormfly's silence. Something had happened and she has no idea what is going on. All she knew it that the lying Dragon Master was gone with the only lead to Hiccup. Now her options were to wait for their return, return to Berk, or investigate the slim lead she has left. Astrid walked among the rows of huts trying to figure out which one was the Dragon Masters. After many minutes of walking, she found a black painted hut with a wooden Night Fury head on the top.

Astrid smiled as she opened the door to find very little different than the guest huts. The only difference was the clutter. She walked over to the desk and found several books on top. She grabbed one called How to Train Your Dragon. She opened it and was surprised at the knowledge it held, but as she stared at the drawings of the dragons, she noticed a chilling familiarity. Maybe Hiccup drew them for the Dragon Master. She thought as put the book down and grabbed another. She opened it to see drawings of Berk. Drawn with Hiccup's skill. As she turned the pages, it turned to the huts of Berk, the celebrations of the Great Hall, then to familiar drawings, Astrid has only seen in Hiccup's books on Berk. Pictures of when she was younger facing against dragons and Vikings. Much like Hiccups. She leaned against the desk thinking about the impossible. It couldn't be true.

Drago's Stronghold

Hiccup and the Dragon Riders were high above the clouds while the fleet of ships sailed below. The Rider just dropped the warships of Hiccup's combined Alliance fleet. This is a fight he's been waiting for. Drago was within reach. He looked around him to see Riders old and new ready to bring an end to Drago. When the icy stronghold came into view, Hiccup raised his hand, stopping the Riders. This was it. The battle would begin and he will get revenge for his father's death. He dropped it and every dragon went for a dive. Many dragons fired at the icy structure breaking it down upon the fleet below. But when the ice fell, all they saw was empty waters. No ships or dragons. Just ice and water. They landed on the ice that remained and Hiccup jumped off of Toothless before falling to his knees. This was his chance and now it's gone.

"What should we do Hiccup?" Heather asked behind him. He stood up to face his men.

"Send scouts to search the area. Drago's fleet couldn't have gone far." he ordered desperate to find Drago.

Valka's Mountain

Valka walked clumsily into a cave after the brutal battle. She held pressure on the wound Drago gave her. So much went wrong in mere moments. He opened fire on the mountain, the dragons attacked, then she led the Alpha to the battle. She led to her defeat. The madman had his own Alpha and she gave him what he needed. Now all dragons will fall under his control. Her mission out in this wilderness has failed. She wanted peace for her son so she left him on Berk where he would be safe. Now there was nowhere safe. When she reached the cave with her supplies, she began to seal and bandage the wound. She might not be as good as Gothi, but she had to prepare to warn her old home.

Dagur the Deranged flew South when the Dragon Master gave the order. Drago slipped through their fingers and the Berserker wanted a good fight. With him was his sister Heather the Unhinged. Their flight was long and uneventful, that was until they reached a mountain of spike ice with burning ships surrounding its ocean. The two flew around the mountain to see that an enemy had laid siege against it. But what surprised them the most, was the corpse of a massive dragon. The like of which neither Berserker has ever seen. Whatever killed it must be more powerful and larger. The two glided down and landed next to massive war machines with Northern Alliance markings. They went and inspected the field listening to the silent wind. That was until they heard the bashing of a hammer on wood. The two Riders jumped down drawing their weapons. Heather had her double bladed axe while Dagur had his old axe. They walked forward with their dragons behind. They spotted a strangely armored warrior trying to repair a ship. Dagur noticed the armor was leather, fabric, and wood. No or at least very little metal.

"Who are you?" Heather asked and the warrior stopped the repairs, stood up slowly in pain, and turned. Dagur could only imagine their surprise seeing two dragons behind two Vikings.

"So Drago left men behind. I'm surprised." the muffed warrior replied and both Vikings looked at each other before lowering their weapons.

"What did Drago want here?" Dagur asked.

"You're not with Drago?" the stranger asked surprised.

"No, we're part of an alliance fighting the crazy man and coming from me, that's saying something." Dagur answered and Heather punched his arm.

"What did Drago want from here?" Heather asked and the warrior took off their strange helmet revealing a woman.

"He wanted his Bewilderbeast to challenge the Alpha." she answered pointing to the massive dragon corpse. "And he got what he wanted. Drago now can control any dragon he wants with ease.. Now I need to warn my family of Drago."

"We can help with that, but we got to tell the Dragon Master." Dagur remarked and the woman raised an eyebrow.

"It's a stupid name his foes made to describe him." Heather added as she climbed on Windshear.

"Then what should I call him?" Dagur asked as he climbed on Sleuther.

"Dragon Trainer. He isn't ready to reveal who he is under the helmet yet." Heather answered helping the woman on the Razorwhip. "And what should we call you?"

"Valka."

Berserker Island

Drago had expected the Berserkers to welcome him. But instead, he discovered a few defenders riding dragons. That is until his Alpha commanded their beasts leaving them in the waters. The Alpha fired its icy breath destroying the catapult towers before marching to the village itself. The Berserkers moved into formation on the ground now that their dragons are under Drago's control. He watched as they shuttered from the sight of the Alpha. He waved his staff and aimed at the village. The beast fired its breath consuming the traitors. Soon the rest of the island was ice and empty of all life. He waved his staff yelling before pointing to the direction of the Dragon's Edge. According to the Grimborn's maps. The dragon marched forward before swimming in the deep water. He smiled thinking of the devastation he will bring.

Drago's Stronghold

Hiccup tossed a rock into the water waiting for the scouts to return. The fleet was drifting in the ocean waiting for a target. Everyone was waiting for a fight, but they won't get it for now. All they can do is wait and hope Drago didn't get too far. He got up when he heard the first of the scouts returning. To his delight, Heather and Dagur were the ones to return, but he noticed they weren't alone. An armored warrior was with them. The armor was different from the Northern Alliance, which meant Drago may be on the attack. He rushed to them as they jumped down. "Who's this?"

"Valka she's a friend, but Drago has an Alpha." Heather answered and Hiccup raised an eyebrow under the helmet.

"Alpha?" he asked.

"The Bewilderbeast. The King of Dragons. Drago used his submitted dragon to kill the Alpha and now there is nothing that can stop him from taking every dragon." Valka answered under her helmet. At the name, Hiccup remembered the stories of his mother and how he missed her.

"Is there a way we can fight its control?" he asked.

"Distract it and to blind the senses of a dragon. Unless the dragon has enough willpower." she answered.

"What do we do Dragon Trainer?" Dagur asked and Valka stepped forward.

"I need to warn my home. I left them years ago and they need to know what is happening." Valka interrupted and Hiccup nodded.

"Where is your home?" he asked.

"An island called Berk." Valka answered and Hiccup's heart nearly stopped. Heather turned to him knowing what it could mean.

"Valka Haddock?" he asked softly and she raised an eyebrow.

"Yes, why?" she asked and Hiccup took off his helmet. There was silence as she studied his face. She slid her finger over his scar before backing up. "Hiccup?"

"Hey mom." he replied and the two hugged. For the first time in his life, he had a mother. Sure most people would be angry and yelling, but not Hiccup. He's just glad to know she was alive after all this time.

"Wait Hiccup as in Hiccup Haddock? The heir to the island of Berk. Wow did not see that coming." Dagur remarked as the two let go. Hiccup turned to the brother and sister.

"Heather send the fleet to the Edge and make sure the other scouts head there as well. Dagur go to Berserker Island and bulk the defenses. Make sure all of the Dragon senses are blinded. We can't let Drago get any more dragons." Hiccup ordered and the two Berserkers climbed on their Dragons before launching into the sky. He turned to his mother and put his helmet back on. "Let's return to Berk. I got a lot of explaining to do."

The Dragon's Edge

Astrid sat on the edge of a wooden bridge trying to come up with reasons why Hiccup can't be the Dragon Master. Stormfly rested to her right while the Viking thinks in vain. Hiccup Haddock, son of Stoick the Vast was the Dragon Master. She just wondered how. She remembered the stories he told and she knew they were true, but she didn't know how he could hide it from Berk. She felt like the biggest fool of all time. The silence of the Edge was disturbed when Stormfly woke up and flew off. Astrid stood up wondering where the Deadly Nadder was going. In the distance was a large flock of Dragons. She thought Hiccup and his Riders were back. But the massive dragon swimming below them told a different story. She backed up wondering what to do. Stormyfly was gone and she didn't know what was coming. But the massive dragon fired a liquid substance freezing a cliffside. She ran as the ice grew closer to her and jumped off the bridge, grabbing a ledge leading to the docks before she was encased in the ice. She managed to get herself on the ledge and rushed down to the dock. All the while listening to the dragon encasing the outpost in ice. There we no boats, so she was prepared to swim. When the dragon arrived, it towered over her and she saw a man on the left tusk. It looked down at her as the man climbed down onto the dock. Astrid gripped her axe preparing to join the fallen in Valhalla.

"Only one left to defend the legendary Edge? The Dragon Master is a fool." the man greeted and Astrid charged only for Stormfly to fly down growling at her. The Viking stopped, caught off guard at the Nadder that cared her for. She heard the man laugh and knew he had something over the dragons. Then it clicked. This was Drago Bludvist. The man who killed Chief Stoick.

"You killed my old Chief." Astrid replied harshly.

"I killed many Chiefs. The price for fighting back." Drago remarked. "Now tell me what you know of the Dragon Master."
