Ch. 6

Shaba's optics slowly opened to darkness with a slight blue glow emanating from the wall panels of her private quarters. She felt strangely comfortable and for the first time since her imprisonment on the Decepticon warship, Shaba didn't have any nightmares. It was wonderful, the femme was sick of seeing those damn 'Cons every time she closed her optics. She then slowly sat up in her berth and immediately, noticed the lack of pain and friction around her interfacing area. Ratchet was truly a medical master, performing a painless and seemingly flawless procedure even with the inferior technology of this primitive world.

She then thought of this place, Earth, with its simplistic looks and organic nature. To Shaba, humans were disgusting creatures, but they also possessed a high degree of intelligence, especially the elder ones such as Special Agent Fowler. However, the thought that she and the Autobots had to answer to him angered the femme. 'How dare you question Ratchet' Shaba thought bitterly when they were confronted by the liaison earlier.

Also, the alternative form that Shaba chosen was a concern to the human. Shaba's processors sought information on the military of the country that the Autobots resided in, The United States of America. This country was one of the most powerful in this world, but it was not without enemies. Just like Autobots and Decepticons, the nation of China was a main threat to this country and military matters were a closely guarded secret. That did not concern Shaba, though. She did not care in the least about humans' problems and Fowler was just an annoyance to the Autobots.

The femme yawned as she got to her feet and stretched her limbs, then walked out into the corridor and towards the main control room. Immediately, she heard the deep baritone vocalisers of Optimus Prime and smiled. Shaba had only seen the Autobot leader once, but he had an immediate calming and reassuring affect. Optimus Prime was the anti-Megatron.

The Prime gave a warm smile as he saw Shaba emerge from the dark corridor. Ratchet was at his side while Arcee, Bumblebee, and Bulkhead were moving energon crates into the storage room. Shaba walked up to the pair of mechs. "Hello, Optimus Prime. Again, thank you for rescuing me after I was left for dead by those Decepticons. And Ratchet, you are wonderful. I haven't felt this great in a long time" Shaba complemented.

"Anything to help a fellow Cybertronian in need. You were very fortunate to have escaped the Nemesis as you are the first to ever escape from there that I can recall." Optimus replied.

Ratchet nodded "I'm glad that you feel better, Shaba. I also noticed slight damage and scuffing around your neck joints. I take it that you were also restrained for prolonged amounts of time." The CMO replied, vocalisers darkening.

Shaba shut her optics tightly "Yes, Ratchet. Megatron would constantly have me chained up in his quarters or in the brig. He also placed a collar around my neck that would shock me if I misbehaved or wasn't working fast enough for his liking. He also had Soundwave monitor me so I was under constant watch. And Soundwave-", Shaba couldn't finish, shuddering in cold fear.

The Decepticon Communications Officer frightened her almost as much as Megatron himself. He never displayed any emotion and did not care whatsoever about his fellow Decepticons except forMegatron. Soundwave was extremely loyal and obeyed every one of Megatron's orders without a nano-second of hesitation. The creepiest thing, however, was that Soundwave did not speak at all, not one word. Yet, Megatron seemed to always understand his Second-in-Command.

"Ah yes, Soundwave" Ratchet began, frowning. "Strangest Cybertronian I ever knew. It is said that Soundwave fought Megatron when both were gladiators in Kaon many, many Vorns ago, and it was the closest that Megatron had ever come to losing a match. Soundwave, however, required extensive repairs after permanently damaging his face plates and vocalisers. But, after that, Soundwave never left Megatron's side." Ratchet continued.

Shaba's optics widened a bit, her processors recalling the Decepticon leader telling her that tale. He had scars from that particular battle as well, including one on his lower back. It was rather sensitive, that area, as it wasn't covered by the thick armor plating that covered most of his frame. He had ordered her many a time to rub that area because it was quite sensitive to touch and it pleasured him greatly.

Optimus was listening intently to the conversation and frowned when Shaba described her condition when she was imprisoned. On the outside, the Prime always seemed calm and collected. Inside, however, he was seething. How could Megatron, his onetime friend, become such a heinous monster? His processors would always recall the event that ultimately ended their longtime friendship.

Optimus had traveled to Kaon to seek the ex-gladiator to discuss matters of Iacon politics, a topic which was further and further splitting their relationship apart. Optimus hoped that he could just sit down with Megatron and iron things out. The newly titled Prime was confident that his words would ease the tensions between them.

He could not have prepared himself for what he saw when he entered Megatron's dwelling.

A femme, a young vagrant of the streets of Kaon, was splayed out on the floor in the sitting area and noticeably raped. Her frame bore deep gashes all over and much of her frame was covered in pale pink transfluids along with a copious amount of energon; she was most likely already offlined with having lost that much energon. Before Optimus could even check, Megatron emerged from his washracks, walking ever so casually until he looked up and saw the Prime. Optimus gasped in shock at Megatron's appearance. Once sapphire blue optics were now tinted an evil crimson and his once smooth denta were now filed into jagged points, purely for reasons of intimidation.

That was just the very beginning of the reign of Decepticon terror. The next time Optimus Prime met Megatron, it would be on the battlefield in what remained of Iacon.

The Prime just shook his head at the vivid memory. Shaba was quite fortunate that Megatron had allowed her to live instead of just being an object of temporary pleasure only to be later discarded like trash. The femme vagrant that he came across was definitely not the only one to succumb to Megatron's sick and depraved lust. He often took prisoners during raids on Neutral territories, femmes for his pleasure and mechs for torture as well as biological weapons testing.

This happened all over, but the most heinous things were saved for the Cybertronian capital, Iacon. The Council and other politicians were captured and either killed instantly, forced into slavery, or forced to work in the mines of Kaon, like Megatron once did. He wanted them to feel his suffering while they lived the good life and took great pleasure while he sat upon a throne, waited on by the enslaved Iaconians.

'I must remain strong' the Prime thought, immediately clearing his processors. He had to for the others, especially his young scout, Bumblebee, who had already endured so much at the hands of the Decepticons; they had even taken his vocalisers. Also Arcee, who endured equally, losing not only one, but two Autobot partners in battle. Optimus had to be there for them, for all of the Autobots. Optimus Prime was the only hope of ever defeating the Decepticons and returning home to Cybertron.

Megatron walked the corridors of his warship, the Nemesis. Vehicon drones in his path quickly jumped aside and snapped to attention, rendering their leader a sharp salute. Rank was a thing that was rigidly established and rules were brutally enforced. Fortunately for Megatron, the Vehicons were simple-minded and obeyed orders without question or hesitation. The downside was that being simple-minded meant low intelligence, but it was a suitable tradeoff. They had their own mass-quarters and washracks on the lower decks, as well as a communal mess/rec hall.

There was also strict rank segregation on the Nemesis. High-ranking officers such as Soundwave and Knockout had their own personal quarters and washracks. Soldiers, such as Breakdown, had much smaller quarters and shared washracks with the Seeker Armada. Megatron did make one exception, Breakdown was granted access to Knockout's medbay and quarters as the two seemed to work quite well together. He also knew that their relationship went deeper than that, but that was not of concern to the Decepticon leader, as long as they remained loyal and obedient to him and the Decepticon cause.

The Warlord missed Shaba's presence on the Nemesis and regretted her absence, especially when he was in the mood for pleasuring. Self-satisfication was just not the same, though Megatron had fresh memories in his processors now that he could recall when he desired.

And the memories were indeed many as Megatron smiled to himself, now entering his private washracks and firing up the hot water jets. He had easily lost count of how many times he had 'faced that young aerialist. Many times, it was unceremoniously pinning the femme down on his berth and having his way. Other times, it was in the brig, with Shaba bound in chains, or right here in his washracks with her back pinned against a wall, her slender legs wrapped tightly around his waist. "Mmmmm" Megatron growled deeply, his optics slowly closing. Frag, he missed that femme. Then, he gave a cruel smirk. Shaba wouldn't be gone for long.

Not long at all.

Meanwhile, the Autobots were still dealing with an ever worsening energon shortage. Now Shaba had even begun to assist with the scouting for the precious element that was scattered on Earth so long ago. It seemed like every single sizeable reserve had been claimed by Megatron and placed under heavy Vehicon guard while labor drones mined the energon and brought it up to the Nemesis. They were all heavily armed and a vastly outnumbered Autobot team would be hard-pressed to find an easy way through their defenses.

"We must begin to challenge the Decepticons, there is no other alternative" Arcee pleaded to Optimus after returning once again empty-handed. Shaba, who had accompanied her friend, only nodded in agreement, though she was less willing to engage in physical combat. However, Arcee had been teaching Shaba basic maneuvers and Ratchet had outfitted the femme with two forearm-mounted blasters that he managed to find in storage. He also reinforced some of her armor plating on her more vulnerable areas without compromising the stealthy appearance of her alt-mode.

"Optimus, I will do whatever I can to help" Shaba added, agreeing with Arcee. "Whether it's by performing aerial recon or front-line battle" she continued.

The Prime nodded towards the pair of femmes. "I thank you both for your courageous efforts. I will summon the rest of our team to discuss strategies-" Optimus paused, bright blue optics slightly narrowed.

"Megatron will learn that the Autobots will never succumb to their evil ways. We will fight to the end" he finished, giving Arcee and Shaba a reassuring look.

Optimus then turned from the femmes to Ratchet, who had brought up satellite imagery of one of the nearby mines, although one with not a substantial amount of energon, it was guarded by only a handful of Vehicons and there were no mining operations in progress.

"This is our best bet, Optimus" Ratchet said, pointing to the image on the large monitor above them. "I count six Vehicon soldiers, that's it. However, we should act quickly as reinforcements will likely show up once they detect any threat to the mine" the Autobot CMO continued.

Optimus nodded "Agreed, my old friend. I will contact Bumblebee and Bulkhead. We must make our move and not a moment too soon"

The predawn air was still over the remote mountains. A mist hugged the ground outside of a lush forest. Not a soul stirred for miles.

Not a human one, anyway.

A lone Vehicon soldier stood sentry at the entrance of a gaping cavern in the mountainside, his sensors scanning for any sign of possible Autobot intruders. The young mech remained vigilant despite having not detected as much as a cyber-mouse since being assigned this energon mine. However, Lord Megatron demanded absolute obedience to his orders and this soldier would never disobey his Master.

Nor did the other five Vehicons, who just like sixth, would never waver from their directive to protect this energon mine even with their own sparks. Vehicon soldiers knew that they were expendable assets within the Decepticon regime. It was embedded in their programming since the day they were brought online. Every order given by Lord Megatron or conveyed through Soundwave was to be followed without a nano-second of hesitation. The only time a Vehicon responded otherwise was if the order came from anyone else other than the Decepticon Commander or his SIC.

High above the mountain, Shaba scanned the terrain below. Detecting the six Vehicons, Shaba contacted Optimus Prime via secure com link, who were closing in on the location in their vehicle modes.

::Got six Vehicons on the ground, scanning only. We got them:: Shaba commed.

::Copy, Shaba, we're moving in:: Optimus replied.

The aerialist maintained her current altitude, now circling the mountain. She could now see the other Autobots closing in on the Vehicons, Arcee and Bumblebee were leading the assault, followed by Bulkhead and Optimus.

The Vehicons immediately detected the Autobot intruders on their scanners and readied their blasters, forming a semicircle around the entrance of the mine. The mech in charge of the mine security detail commed a request for backup to the Nemesis.

"Let's GO!" Arcee cried out to Bee. The pair, in vehicle modes, then revved their engines and jumped over a small ridge, transforming in midair and letting loose a barrage of blaster fire upon the Vehicon soldiers. Two of them were knocked off their feet while the others hastily returned fire.

Optimus and Bulkhead rumbled around the other side of the mountain, then transformed and opened fire as well when the Vehicons were in sight. They were taken by surprise and now all six were slowly retreating back towards the mine entrance.

The Autobots pressed, further suppressing the Vehicons. "Surrender this mine now and I will allow you retreat" Optimus ordered sternly, his azure blue optics narrowed.

The six Vehicons looked at each other for a moment, then the detail leader looked the Prime square in the optics and scoffed. "You will go through us to get to this energon. We are willing to die for the Decepticon cause, Prime!" the mech replied

"Very well then. You leave me with no choice, Decepticon. Autobots, take this energon mine" the Prime ordered. Everyone opened fire once again, the Vehicons were taking on damage now even though they were doing everything they could to protect the mine while they waited for reinforcements to arrive.

Shaba still circled the mountain, observing the battle below. Then, she picked up something on her sensor nets rapidly approaching from the South. "Scrap" she muttered before opening up a com link with Optimus.

::Optimus, we have company. Jet Vehicon squadron incoming::

::Copy, get down here with us. You will never stand a chance against them in the air:: Optimus replied.

::Yes, Sir::

The femme quickly descended, transformed and landed behind the ongoing battle. The least she could do was add to the Autobots' firepower so they could get past the Vehicons and into the mine to grab whatever energon they could get a hold off and bridge out before the reinforcements arrived. Jet Vehicons were highly trained in flight maneuvers and combat. They were not to be taken lightly and even Optimus knew that the small band of Autobots would be easily outmatched by them.

Shaba slowly approached, then joined Arcee, firing away at two Vehicons that they had managed to separate from the other four. Arcee, however, was losing patience with just standing there. The expert of close-quarters battle then deployed her twin wrist blades and went right at one 'Con's faceplates, letting out and angry cry while doing so. The Vehicon was taken by surprise and hesitated just long enough for the agile femme to land a devastating blow, a blade slicing into a main energon line in its neck. The Vehicon immediately fell to the ground and quickly bled out.

Arcee wasted no time, evading fire from the other Vehicon, who was busy exchanging fire with Shaba. The two femmes converged in on the mech before Shaba landed a crippling blow to a knee joint, sending the soldier to the ground. Arcee quickly finished him off. "Let's go, Shaba!" Arcee then yelled, motioning to the entrance of the mine. The ebony-armored femme quickly followed Arcee into the mine.

Optimus and the others immediately ceased their fire and followed the two femmes into the mine. They saw that mining operations were wrapped up and the energon was already crated and ready for transport, though they had to be quick about this. Arcee did not waste any time, she had three crates and commed Ratchet for a groundbridge.

Shaba ran out ahead, suppressing the remaining Vehicon fire. The Jets were quickly closing in, giving the Autobots barely another minute before they arrived. "Go, go, GO!" she cried out to the others back in the cave as soon as the groundbridge appeared just outside the entrance.

Bumblebee joined Shaba, holding the Vehicons at bay while Arcee, Bulkhead, and Optimus carried enough crates as they could and rushed through the groundbridge. Bumblebee then motioned for Shaba to follow them through.

"No, Bee, I got this" Shaba replied, insisting that the Autobot scout go through ahead of her. She kept cover, though, before following him through the bridge. Bumblebee then disappeared through the bright green portal.

Shaba was right behind him. She turned to fire upon a Vehicon that was lunging for her, hitting it directly in the chest.

The femme stopped, wanting to admire her more than decent aim. A bright flash of green light caught her optic. Shaba turned in the direction of the light. Her optics then widened in terror.

A Decepticon Spacebridge.

A large frame slowly emerged. Highly polished silver armor and spikes. The appearance was all too familiar for the young femme, who suddenly found herself unable to move. She just stared up in shock at the emerging figure.

Megatron.

"Well now, I knew it would not be long at all"

Everything then went black.
