Chapter 16: Time

While all of this was happening, the Seelie Queen was sat in her bed chambers, anticipating the return of her daughter. Magnus may have made a deal that she was not allowed to contact Lily but he said nothing about Lily contacting her. The Queen felt that the time for their reunion was near, 5 years she had been waiting and she would wait another 5 as long as it meant that she got her daughter and her weapon.

See what Magnus didn't realise when he agreed to help her create the baby he so desperately wanted, was that he had helped her climb the ladder of power. With Lily at her side, no one would dare challenge her and her powers, it was only time until Lily came to her senses and returns to the Faerie Realm, to become princess and the most treasured and deadly weapon in their collection.

"But what if she loves Alec and Magnus too much to leave them? What if she doesn't find out that she's adopted? Will she ever find me? What am I saying? I gave her that bracelet and that charm is so full of magic that she is bound to find me and when the time is right the bracelet will let me know and I can talk to her. What a fool Magnus is for not trying to find out more about that bracelet! Ha" the Queens thoughts were so jumbled up that she only just won that argument.

Lily was sat on her bed, playing with the doll Jace had got her for her birthday. She sat there twirling the delicate yellow hair round her fingers, staring off into space, thinking about what happened two days ago with the book. "It was a complete accident but it felt so good to let it out! Why did everyone look upset when it happened? Are they mad at me?" Lily sat there thinking about this until she realised that she had tied the hair up in knots around her fingers, a mixture of yellow and lilac. Then the door opened with a small creak and Lily looked at the door but no one had come inside. Lily sat there like a statue, too scared to move and then Chairman Meow jumped up on the bed and Lily gave a little squeak of fright. Chairman Meow looked up at her as if he was apologising, Lily gave him a little scratch behind the ears and this made him purr like a lawn mower, loud and content.

There were times where he would let her dress him up whenever she was upset and needed cheering up. Over the years the two had built a special bond, one that not even Magnus had with the cat. It was as if the two were on the same wave length and this could be because they were near the same age.

Lily stroked the cat's silk-like fur, when all of a sudden the bracelet she had since she was born started to tingle and grow warm. Chairman Meow gave a little hiss and ran out of the room, smelling slightly of burnt fur. Lily stared at the bracelet, like it was a foreign object.

The Queen shuddered with the feeling of power that had just appeared and started to caress her skin like an invitation. "It's time!"
