About twenty years after the clone wars which the Jedi ended by killing the Sith Lord Sidious after outing him as the Chancellor of the republic and the Clones' aging process was slowed down a message came to the Temple. A request to come to the Chancellor's office to discuss a new planet's request for trading with the republic. A strange thing to have requested a Jedi's presence for, but Obi-wan accepted and representing the Council.

It was now strange for the Jedi to come to the offices of the Senate, since they insisted on separating from the will of the Government after the fiasco so many years earlier having a battle with a Sith Lord through the halls. Stepping into the Office where it began Obi-wan could feel Mace Windu tensing and sent a wave of reassurance though the force to him. The latest Chancellor, Bail Organa smiled at them, "Thank you for coming."

Taking the seats he had indicated, "If it hadn't been you asking we wouldn't have." Obi-wan spoke for both of them as he continued, "What is strange about this trading request?"

Looking at them over his hands Bail answered, "It's from Dathomir." Both men reacted, Mace Windu reaching for his 'saber calmly while Obi-wan rocked back a bit in shock.

"Dathomir," Mace repeated and Obi-wan could feel the strain on the older man. There was also the pain of a shatterpoint looming, he had known the other Master long enough to be able to tell. Leaning forward, "We should probably see the request."

Bail pushed it across the desk, "I thought that too." He waited while the other two studied the transmission and spoke when they had finished, "As both Darth Maul and his brother were last reported to be there I thought it would be best if I gave this over to you." Then with a smile that didn't hide the strain, "Along with a request to check if they are serious about wanting to have a peaceful agreement."

Nodding Obi-wan picked up the pad with transmission on it, "Can we take this?"

Bail waved a hand, "I have three copies besides that one." Keeping his voice conversational, "You'll let me know what the council decides?"

Giving him the old smile Obi-wan answered, "Of course." Mace was happy to let Obi-wan do the talking in this case. His experience with Maul and his brother Savage made him better able to judge it here. Besides, the sense of a shatterpoint was growing, and he didn't want to aggravate it.
