"I can't believe the wedding is today." Isa said as she followed me out to Callie's car.

"Me either. It's kinda crazy." I unlocked the car and opened the trunk "Okay Mom said the bright blue ba- there." I reached up, grabbing said bag.

"Perfect!" Isa exclaimed.

I nodded, closing and locking the car- Mom had asked us to run out and get a bag for her. Apparently it had her curling iron in it, and she had forgotten it in the car.

As we walked back toward the porch to go inside, I looked at the time on my phone.

"Liv, can you do that braid thing to my hair?"

"Only if you help me curl mine."

"Deal." Isa laughed.

"I'll do yours now, after I give this to my mom." Isa and I rushed into the house, going into the bathroom, where Mom was getting ready.

"Oh you got it! Perfect!" Mom stopped putting on makeup to take the bag from me. "Thank you girls!"

"Yeah. I'm gonna give Callie her keys and then help Isa with her hair. Then she's gonna help me with mine."

"Sounds good. You guys can do that in here, if you'd like. Keep me company. Teds and April just left to pick up the food for later."

" 'Kay. I'll be right back," I looked at Isa. "You can stay here."

With that, I rushed off to give Callie her keys back, seeing that she was sat in front of a mirror in one of the bedrooms, also doing her makeup.

"Keys! You look pretty!" I set the keys on the dresser.

"Thanks Liv," She paused to flash me a smile. "Got what you needed?"

"Yeah. Mom was freaking out because she forgot that she left her curling iron in the car."

Aria laughed, "Poor Arizona, she's nervous."

I nodded at that- she was totally nervous. Not in a bad way- she just wanted the event to go well.

"Apparently Teddy and April just left to get the food." I figured Callie would want to know.

"Oh great! I think my parents are setting up all the chairs."

"They are." Aria confirmed.

"Okay. I gotta go get ready."

Callie nodded, and then I made my way back to the bathroom.

"Callie's parents are setting up the chairs outside. Isa sit over here." I motioned for her to sit on the toilet so I could braid her hair- she's taller than me, I need her to sit.

"Oh great! I hope it's not too windy- I don't want anything blowing away." Mom commented.

Isa sat down, and I started on her hair.

"It's not windy out, you're all good." I told Mom.

She smiled, then went back to her makeup.

I did Isa's hair, Isa did my hair. Eventually Teddy and April got back and started to get ready themselves.

Isa and I stayed in the bathroom with Mom still.

As Mom was brushing through her hair, I came up next to her.

"Are you nervous?"

"A little. I mean..." Mom sighed, placing the brush on the counter. "I'm not nervous about marrying Callie. I know that I want to marry her. I'm just nervous... because this is my first real wedding."

I tilted my head.

"Do you remember when I married my ex?" Mom asked.

I shook my head. I didn't remember them actually getting married.

Mom laughed a bit, "You were like... four. But, my point is, it was at the court house. We repeated the stupid vows while you were running around the room exploring. So, it wasn't a wedding."

I nodded my understanding.

"I guess I'm just nervous because I want this to be good. The wedding. The marriage." She admitted.

"It will be good, Mom." I told her.

"I know, honey." She plugged the curling iron in. "It's just..." Her voice trailed off.

"The past comes back to bite you sometimes." I said.

She nodded, "Yup."

I gave her a reassuring smile, "It's okay. Today is a good day. The wedding will go great."

"Thanks Olive." Mom smiled.

"Should I go check on outside? See if anyone needs help?"

"If you'd like." Mom started to section off her hair.

"I'll send April and Teddy in to keep you company. Isa, let's go?" I glanced at my best friend.

She nodded, standing up and taking my hand before we headed out into the chaos of everyone getting ready for the ceremony.

I occupied a lot of the time before the ceremony by helping get things ready.

The food, the chairs, the flowers.

Isa and I both worked to make sure everything was perfect.

Mom and Callie deserved a perfect day. I wanted them to have that.

As for Isa's reasoning, well, she was just doing whatever I did.

Time passed rather quickly because of how busy we were. I was shocked when I looked at my phone and saw it wasn't too long until the ceremony. Which meant I needed to get changed into my dress.

The whole beach wedding thing was a great idea. It was a beautiful day, and the views were just incredible due to the clear skies.

Mom and Callie had rented a little archway thing to serve as their altar area. And that archway was covered in flowers for them to stand in front of after they walked down the aisle. They had picked one solid color- baby pink. But, when it came to the flowers, they had done an array of pastels.

Funny enough, it tied in well. Personally, I thought it looked beautiful.

Not even hours had passed and I was standing right to the side of that archway, watching Mom walk down the aisle, little Lexi in front of her throwing pink flower petals all over the place.

Mom looked beautiful, truly.

For a second I thought I would cry. Like some sort of proud Mom or something, but switched roles. Proud daughter. I didn't cry, though. I do have some self control, I swear.

Lexi had to walk back down the aisle to throw flowers again for Callie's appearance, which was just as grand and beautiful. Plus this was when they saw each other's dresses.

I noticed both of them smiling big at each other, and the second they were close enough, they were both whispering how beautiful the other looked. I was sure I was one of the only ones to hear that. I smiled and kept it to myself. My own sweet memory of Mom and Callie. Of Mom being loved by Callie, of Mom loving Callie.

Love love love.

Honestly, I didn't realize how boring weddings were. The whole speech about love and how important marriage is. The classic vows you hear on every single movie that has ever existed.

Don't get me wrong, it was great. But in the most boring way possible.

I was just grateful when the end was finally in sight.

Callie said "I do." When prompted with that long speech about til death do you part.

Mom did the same when it was her turn.

And then they kissed- everyone 'aw'ed them, even me.

Then, Callie looked at me, "Come here, you" She said, her smile big.

I stepped closer, and they both hugged me. White poofy material got all in my face, but I didn't really mind.

In that moment I felt... happy. That's a basic word. I use it a lot. But, it's true.

"Congratulations, guys." I said, proud to be the first of many to congratulate them.

Mom squeezed me tighter, and then so did Callie.

Big, big hug. A special hug.

This. This was it.
