"Hey baby," Mom smiled at me once she noticed I was walking into the kitchen, where she and Callie were standing by the island.

"Liv!" Callie smiled.

"Hi." I smiled back. "I'm bored." I said, sitting down at the island. I had been watching tv in my room. But, that got boring. Especially because it was something I did often. Mom and Callie had the day off today, so I wanted to see what they were doing.

They were both huddled around Callie's laptop, hugging and all pressed against each other.

They're always all over each other. I'm used to it by now.

"I don't know how entertaining this is," Mom laughed. "Wedding planning." She said after a moment, tucking some hair behind her ear.

I shrugged. It was something other than TV.

"Wanna hear what we have so far?" Callie asked, excitement in her eyes.

"Sure," I nodded. Why not? They both seemed super excited, so I was eager to hear what they were planning.

Callie jumped in excitement, then leaned down a little to look at her laptop. "We want it to be small."

"Just close friends and family." Mom added.

"I don't want the hassle of all my extended family. Plus, some of them might ruin it. Better to just keep it to ourselves." Callie explained further.

"I think that's nice."

Some members of Callie's extended family were rather rude when we met them. So, it made sense to keep it small and not invite them. No drama on the wedding day- we're not trying to recreate a rom com here.

Then, Callie looked at Mom. "What if we do it outside?"

"Outside where?" Mom asked.

"I dunno. Somewhere outside."

Mom nodded slowly, "We could find a smaller venue."

"Yeah!" Callie typed something, and then looked back at Mom. She pointed to something, and nodded her head toward me.

"Oh yes!" Mom smiled.

I raised an eyebrow, not getting it. Clearly they were silently communicating.

I thought that was pretty cute. They could 'read each other's minds.' In a way, I guess.

Just proved how close they are, and I'm really glad Mom has that with someone.

I watched as Mom detangled herself from Callie, and came over to me.

"I have a very important question!" She turned me in the chair so I was facing her. Her expression was giddy and filled with excitement.

"Oh?" I didn't know what to expect.

She smiled even more, "Olive, would you be my maid of honor?"

"Me?!"

"Of course!" Mom said quickly.

"Oh." I totally didn't expect that. I don't know why. It's not that crazy of a question. I guess I kind of forgot she needed a maid of honor.

"What kind of answer is that?!" Mom laughed.

I giggled. "Yes, Mom, I would love to."

She asked me. That made me feel... good. I don't know.

I was a little surprised, I think.

She immediately hugged me tightly, and I hugged back. "Yay! This is great!" She kissed my head before pulling away. "Aw, you're the best!"

I giggled some more. Mom's excitement was sweet.

She looked at Callie, wrapping her arms around me again. "This is my stunning maid of honor!" She announced.

Callie's eyes met mine, and she smiled at me. I returned the smile, feeling Mom squeeze me again before going back around the island.

"Type that!!! Here let me... Zona has a maid of honor- Olive!" Mom spoke as she typed, beyond excited by this declaration. Her eyes were wide open, shining brightly.

I love seeing her happy.

I giggled.

"What? This is exciting!" Mom looked up at me.

"Very exciting. I'm gonna ask Aria soon." Callie said.

"Aw!! Wait are you guys gonna have like... a flower girl? And isn't there a ring thing too?" I asked.

They looked at each other, then both nodded.

"We want to ask if Lexi could be our flower girl and maybe Elijah be the ring bearer." Callie said.

"Michael might have to walk with him. He's so little!" Mom added on.

"That's gonna be so cute!" I knew Lexi would be excited to take on that task. It would probably be the highlight of her life. Throwing flowers around in a pretty dress. That's so Lexi.

"Right?!" Callie agreed.

"I would like to have Teddy and April stand with me, too." Mom said after a few moments.

I figured she would want that. They were like her sisters, and usually people had their sisters stand with them. I knew April and Teddy would be crazy excited when Mom asked.

"Like bridesmaids?" Callie asked.

Mom nodded.

"Of course!" Callie typed that down. I didn't get the whole typing everything. Were they really going to forget?

I guess it's just a way to organize it. Makes a little bit of sense. Not really,

"What about you?" Mom looked at Callie.

"Oh, Addison and Cristina. Thousand percent. Hopefully Addi can make it up."

"She lives in LA, right?"

"You have a friend from LA?!" I knew of Cristina. Callie went out with her sometimes. I had never met her, though. But, I have never heard of Addison.

Callie laughed, "I do, yeah. She's an OB! She moved down there a few years ago."

"That's really cool."

"You like beach areas, huh?" Callie asked.

"I love the beach." It was true. The beach was my favorite.

"Me too." Callie smiled.

"I think that would be awesome!" Mom said. "Hopefully she can make it."

"I'm sure she'll try her best," Callie nodded. "We really have to think about themes and stuff. What colors we want."

Mom sighed. "God. Yeah. This is a lot." She laughed.

"We can take a break." Callie suggested. "Why don't we go hang out by the pool?"

Mom looked at me.

"Me too?"

"Obviously!" Mom said.

"Oh. Cool, sounds fun!" I needed something to do today. All my friends were busy. Plus I loved the pool. "Now?"

Mom and Callie both nodded.

"I'll go get changed!" I headed off to my room to change, excited to go lay by the pool and swim.
