Author's note: Last chapter. And Izuku is the one told this time.

Yes, I did research on the friendliest cat breeds. And no the address and phone number are not real (to the best of my knowledge)

I have a few more fics in the work, so I should start posting them soon. I hope everyone enjoyed this story, and anything I may post in the future.

Chapter 6- Eri tells Deku

Eri had learned a lot since living with Aizawa, Mic and Shinso. She had learned about holidays, and cats, and that talking about nightmares helped.

She had finally got control of her curse, too - no, not her curse. Deku called it her quirk, and had always corrected her gently when she got it wrong.

They wanted her to start going to a normal school.

Mic had taught her all her grade-appropriate lessons, teaching things in a way that made them fun and easy to understand. He seemed happy when Eri smiled or laughed at his lessons. He taught her that it was okay to ask questions or ask for help - and not just for big things: tying her shoelaces, picking out hair ribbons, even things she knew she could do alone, but didn't want to do. Slowly, but surely, she began asking others for help as well.

She loved seeing Mic smile whenever she asked him something. He never got angry. He would beam. Telling her to lead the way,, and do his best to help her in her task. When he was too busy, he would apologize, and usually arranged to do it later.

Aizawa taught her how to control her quirk and, surprising as it was, how to relax. Sometimes, in the beginning, she was too scared to even talk about her quirk let alone try to turn it off. Aizawa would see this, and he would do it for her.

He would sit beside her, repeating calming techniques until she had her heart rate back under control. And when his presence didn't help, he would call Deku.

Deku would come to wrap her in the scrap of Le Million's cape that she still had, telling her how safe she was, until eventually Aizawa could help her reel her quirk in. Deku was one of only two people she was comfortable being touched by. It still left her shaking sometimes, and Aizawa would listen if she asked him to just turn the quirk off.

But Aizawa still worked with her. He helped her calm down, to not get stuck in the nightmares or flashbacks. Last week, when she had rewound a flower to a seed, he had asked if she'd prefer a cake or cat in celebration. There was such a wide smile on his usually straight face that Eri had had to smile, too.

She had even seen him smirking when Deku the Human had met Deku the Cat for the first time. Deku the Human had turned so red that even Shinsou hadn't been able to hold in a laugh as he swung an arm over Deku's shoulder.

With all the breathing exercises came a sense of peace, and with Aizawa's busy schedule came naps. Naps that anyone was allowed to share. They could curl up near or on him and just drift for a while. Eri had lost count of the number of times Izuku would bring her back from the park to Aizawa and Mic curled up together asleep on the couch and Shinsou with his headphones in, listening to a video game.

Aizawa insisted that taking a moment for yourself to simply do nothing was sometimes exactly what was needed. With all of his numerous jobs and lack of sleep, relaxation was important. Some people found it in exercise, some in baking. Aizawa was fond of naps, which was good, because he really did need them. Eri found that she enjoyed puzzles and trips to the park with Izuku and Mirio. They pushed her higher on the swings than Aizawa and Mic ever would.

Shinso taught her how to make friends. She knew he distrusted people, and had recognized the similarities they shared even when she first arrived. He was closed off, biting remarks to keep people away, a wall of silence to not incite (That word had been on a spelling test) more violence. But Eri had wiggled her way in, and slowly he started to talk about friends at school, about opening up and being met with acceptance and warmth and gentle teasing. His friends asked for his help instead of assuming it would be given as payment for their friendship. He talked about Denki and Midoriya, how they had smashed down his walls and made it known that they were in his corner. Eri didn't always understand what he meant in all his talk about friends, but she liked that he was happier now.

She loved seeing her brother go from straight faced to smiling, loved hearing him make sarcastic comments down the phone, loved hearing him groan about having to fetch Midoriya from the gym because the "Mini Tank" didn't know when to quit. She loved the picture on his lock screen. It was Deku, Denki, Shinso and him all squished together, smiling, with Shinso's cheeks noticeably flushed. The home screen picture was of her holding Deku the Cat.

Deku taught her important things about school: How to tell if you could trust someone, how to keep under the radar, good places to avoid other people, and how to make sure teachers marked her fairly. She asked if he had to do that at UA with Aizawa, and he had told her about how he couldn't use his quirk when he was a kid. Everyone had been mean to him because of it. No one believed in him, no one thought he could be a Hero. The things he taught her, he said. were how he had survived school.

"Did your mom not help you?" Eri had asked, She had met Deku's mom. Deku had once told her that while All Might was his favourite registered Hero, his mom was his personal hero.

"She didn't know. But when I told her, she helped then. And I'm getting better at knowing when to tell her I need help," Deku had reassured her, "Just like you can tell me if you ever need to use any of the things I taught you today."

She nodded, and they went to the park so he could teach her how to do the monkey bars.

So Eri started school with all the skills she thought she would need. She wasn't fully correct.

There were more people than she was used to. It made her skin itch. She longed for Mirio's cape to wrap herself in. The teacher wasn't as fun as Mic, and taught a lot faster. She couldn't take breaks to think when she got confused. It was jarring, and hard. But she kept trying, because Izuku smiled wide whenever she told him about her day, and Shinso gave her big hugs when she told him she might try and make friends with one of the boys. He had laughed after she told him his name was Kota, and said he had to go call Izuku. Aizawa and Mic put her first test on the fridge, telling her that they were proud of her. And while she didn't like school she didn't dread going.

That was until she met Himari.

She and Kota were playing heroes, arguing over who got to be Deku, when a bigger girl walked up to them. She wasn't very nice. She told them to stop talking about a hero that didn't exist and "play right". She was in her last year of elementary school, and Eri didn't like her. She and Kota liked being Deku. He was the best Hero, and he did exist. They decided that they would take turns playing as their favourite Hero after school instead. But every recess, the girl was back. Neither of them wanted to play with her but when they had tried to tell her that, she had pushed Kota to the ground. Now Eri really didn't like her.

The next time it happened, she tried to be brave like Deku, and stand up for Kota. But then the girl had pushed her instead, and it only got worse from there. Since they had made it clear they didn't want to be her friend, she started being mean. She made fun of them for their quirks, and for being orphans. She had even thrown a rock at them the other day. Eri didn't like school anymore.

Deku the Cat was the only one who knew. The others had been so happy that she was doing well, she couldn't bring herself to tell them. Until one night, when she was sitting on the kitchen floor petting Aizawa's cat, Glue. Glue was a very affectionate Birman cat that had been covered in glue when Aizawa found her and brought her home. It turned out that she loved sticky things, and Aizawa was beginning to accept that his nice, white cat was never gonna stay nice and white.

Glue was curled up in her arms as she dreaded going back to school tomorrow. Shinso, Denki, and Izuku laughed as they walked through the front door, quickly followed by Deku the Cat, meowing as he ran to greet them.

"It looks like Deku likes you, Deku," Denki teased.

"Don't let Eri hear you shortening it," Shinso said, "His name is Deku the Cat, she was specific about that." Eri heard him drop his shoes and power up his gaming console.

"I still can't believe she named a cat after you, man," Denki said.

She heard a heavy thud as someone flopped onto the couch.

"It was surprising, but I'm honoured as well." Deku said, throwing the little ball that Deku the Cat had recently learned to play fetch with.

"Where is she?"

"She might be here, since we only missed dad by a few minutes, or she might have gone with him. He just needed to grab those tests to finish marking." Shinso explained. Eri heard the starting music of one of his games.

"If she was here, she would have followed Deku the cat to Deku the Hero." Denki said, laughing as the ball jingled again.

"Stop teasing! If you're going to put your feet in my lap, you need to move. Izuku still needs to sit down once he's pacified the cat." Shinso said, and Denki let out an indignant noise.

"I can't move, Mango's sitting there."

"She weighs seven pounds, you can move her."

From her hiding place, Eri smiled a little. She liked listening to the three boys bicker, they were funny together.

She heard the video game start as she kept petting Glue. She remembered what Deku had told her before she started school: That she could tell him anything. And as she listened to Denki and Izuku and Shinso laugh together, she realized that that was what friendship sounded like.

She and Kota hadn't laughed together since Himari had showed up.

"I'm gonna tell Deku on her," Eri whispered down to the cat. Then she stood up and headed towards the sound of their voices.

-

"You've been bothering Kota and Eri," Himari heard from behind her.

She turned around to Deku, in his full Hero gear. The rabbit head covering was replaced with a glowing green screen in front of his eyes, able to call up information on the screen with a voice command.

"No I hav - "

"Yes you have," Deku cut her off, "I have proof, your teachers have proof, and your dad has proof. You have been very mean to them. You hurt them. That's something that I, as a Hero, can't just ignore. You do know what Heroes do, right?"

Deku's face was neutral. This was a person only a few years younger than him.

Himari's face paled.

"I… I…"

"I help to make sure that people are happy and safe. And I care a great deal about Kota and Eri's safety and happiness. So you will leave them and anyone smaller than you alone, or I will be back," Deku threatened. He turned and took a few steps towards the edge of the playground before stopping to look back, "And to prove I can: Address: 304-1068, Kurosawa. Number: +8182-555-9687. Currently failing English and Science, with a B in Art. Leave Eri alone, or I will be back, and Eri's parents will be with me, Seki Himari." Then he turned back to Mirio and continued on past their minor patrol detour.
