It had been two months since Yeoman Elanore Berenice Troi first beamed onto the U.S.S Enterprise and so far things were going very well. Working with Captain Kirk had become a comfortable position and one she no longer dreaded or felt nervous about. Captain Kirk appreciated her work and Elanore would often come in to his office in the morning to find a fresh mug of tea on his desk and his seat vacant, the data pads she had given to him the night before signed off and neatly stacked.

Of course the day's she came in to find a new haphazard stack of data pads on his desk and several other's beeping at her with new messages buried under a tonne of miscellaneous paper, she knew that the 'away mission' they had been on the day before hadn't gone to plan or that something was outstanding that the Captain hadn't informed her of.

Today was one of those days.

Elanore grimaced at the mess before her and the lack of tea in her system before moving around the Captain's desk and perching comfortably in his chair. If she was going to deal with this mess, then she was going to do it in comfort. She spent the next two hours organising the papers on his desk, running through the beeping data pads first and replying to the necessary dispatches, some being set aside for the Captain's eventual perusal and sign off and the others being important memo's that Elanore sent out to the appropriate channels throughout the ship, before setting them down in a neat pile with small post it notes attached to each individual stack with instructions on what needed to be done.

Elanore was so caught up with her work when the door to the Captain's Ready Room swept open she jumped, composing herself quickly before keeping her eyes down, continuing to read the latest dispatch on the data pad perched on her crossed legs.

"Captain." Yeoman Troi greeted simply, not looking up from her work.

"How on earth did you know it was me!" Came Kirk's playful reply.

"Because you're a heavy breather. And this is your ready room. Sir." Elanore responded, still not looking up from what she was doing.

"Well, I'll be damned. My Yeoman has a sense of humour!" Captain Kirk retorted and finally Elanore raised her eyes to meet her Captain's before retorting, "I certainly wasn't joking, sir."

The smile on Kirk's face fell quickly before he grimaced and muttered, "You suck."

"I assure you, I do not." Elanore said in a bored manner, trying her hardest to concentrate on the data pad in her lap but finding it hard when the Captain of the Enterprise insisted on joking around with her.

"You know, you sound like Spock sometimes. It's very unattractive." Captain Kirk retorted and Elanore looked up at him and raised her eyebrow.

"See! You even raise your eyebrow like a damn Vulcan!" Kirk continued pointedly, sliding down into the seat opposite Elanore and swinging around in the chair.

"I'm sorely offended." She said, unable to keep the corners of her mouth from turning upward in amusement. Jim only snorted and rolled his eyes, swinging once more in his chair before responding, "Sure you are."

"Sign this." Elanore finally said, glancing up briefly and handing him the data pad she had been reading.

"Yes ma'am! What's this about?" Jim queried, his voice still slightly amused at the bossy nature of his extremely attractive Yeoman.

"It's a dispatch from the Federation to confirm that all shore leave must be cleared by an Admiral before going ahead. Basically you're signing it to say you've read and understand those obligations." Yeoman Troi explained, not even looking up from the second pad she held in her hands, chewing her lip thoughtfully as she read.

"Done! What's next?" Jim stated, placing the pad back onto his desk before leaning on it with his head in his hand.

"Admiral Hewlett sends his congratulations on your promotion to Captain. I've written a brief response of thanks and I just need your signature here." Elanore continued to explain, shoving the next pad into Jim's hand abruptly before placing another stack of six pads in front of him and tearing away the post-it note she had written.

"Correspondences from the Federation detailing changes to section protocol, waste management and food preparation. They've been forwarded on to the appropriate departments so you don't need to read them. Just sign that each has been viewed by yourself and then we're almost done." Elanore said, all business as usual and the only one seemingly able to resist Captain Kirk's flirtatious bickering and smouldering smile. Kirk had to admit it annoyed him sometimes.

"These are private Captain's dispatches. You'll need to review these yourself. And that's it." Yeoman Troi said with a tired sigh, placing the two last pads in front of Captain Kirk before rubbing her stinging eyes and sitting back in his chair.

"What would I do without you!" Jim finally said, looking up from the last pad he had signed and smiling adoringly up at her.

"Crash and burn, most likely." Elanore retorted, her lips curling up into a smirk again before Captain Kirk scoffed and got up from his chair.

"I am sorely offended!" He said in mock affront, clutching a hand to his heart.

"Sure you are."
