Chp. 11: Reunion
Cy Household
June 20, 2020
The next day at Cy's house, Cy was in bed on top of Bonnie, currently having sex. The iPhone on the nightstand next to the bed began to vibrate, catching Cy's attention.
"Oh, for fuck sake," he groaned in annoyance.
He took the phone and answered it, while thrusting himself in and out of a moaning Bonnie.
"What?!" Cy asked into the phone.
"Yo Cy. Did you hear what happened in the city?" a man asked through the phone.
"No. What?" Cy asked.
"Jacket and his n**** friends were seen fighting one of those robot things from the attacks. They've gained city wide attention, man!" the man explained.
Cy stops his sexual pleasures with Bonnie, much to her annoyance.
"That's a problem. Jacket might take advantage of this. And he'll use this to tear us down!" Cy said.
"What do we do?" the man asked.
"We find him, and do whatever it takes to silence him! And I don't care how it's done! I want him dead!" Cy shouted.
Cy hangs up the phone and tosses it aside, before continuing to thrust himself inside Bonnie.
"Yeah! Who do you belong to?" Cy asked.
"You Cy! Fuck this bitch's pussy!" Bonnie moaned in pleasure.
"Once Jacket is gone, it's easy street for us!" Cy said, still thrusting.
"Your dick is much, much better than that shit head!" Bonnie moaned. "Keep fucking me!"
John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County
Meanwhile inside the hospital, Jesse and Jacket were walking down the hallway heading towards Teresa's room. The two hadn't said a word to each other since their battle with the white Merlot Android. Soon Jacket broke the silence between them.
"So... how've you been?" he asked.
"Fine," Jesse bluntly answered.
Jacket sighed before speaking again.
"Jesse, this ain't normal for me to say this but... I'm sorry," he said.
Jesse stopped in his tracks as Jacket took notice and stopped and turned around to face him.
"I should have listened to you, Jesse. I helped rob a bank, Bloody Mary abandoned me when the job was done and when that robot attacked, and I almost got killed in the process. In all honesty after everything that's happened, I should have died because of my stupidity," Jacket said.
"But I saved you," Jesse said.
"And why did you?" Jacket asked.
"Because you are my friend, Jacket. And friends look out for each other, man," Jesse answered.
Jacket paused for a moment before smiling and patting Jesse's arm.
"You're a crazy son of a bitch, my n****," Jacket said. "Anyway, why are we in the hospital?"
"I'm just visiting someone here," Jesse answered.
"Your friend that Cy ran over?" Jacket asked.
"Yep," Jesse answered while popping the 'p.'
They then proceeded to walk down the hall and soon stopped at a door. Jesse opens the door and he and Jacket walk inside. They saw Teresa laying on her bed, watching the television. Jacket widened his eyes in shock upon seeing Teresa before quickly gaining a neutral look.
"Hey, Teresa. I'm back," Jesse greeted.
"Hey, Jesse," Terresa replied.
She turned her head and noticed Jacket behind Jesse.
"Jesse, who's that?" she asked.
"This is my friend, Jacket," Jesse introduced.
Teresa sat up from her bed and slowly stepped out of her bed. She slowly walked past Jesse and approached Jacket.
"Ornell?" Teresa asked.
"Hey, Teresa," Jacket said.
"Ornell?" Jesse asked, not understanding what's going on.
"Is that really you?" Teresa asked.
Jacket looked down with a solemn look on his face. Teresa then tightly hugged Jacket, sobbing uncontrollably. Jacket slowly hugs Teresa back as he tries to hold back his tears.
"Ornell. Thank God you're okay," Teresa cried.
"Okay. I'm confused. You two know each other?" Jesse asked.
"Yes. She's my sister," Jacket answered.
Jesse grew a stunned look on his face, staying silent for a moment until he finally spoke.
"WHAT?!"
"Don't act so surprised. I did tell you that I had a sister at one point," Jacket said.
"Well yeah, but I didn't expect it to be Teresa!" Jesse said. "What happened?"
"Ten years ago, our parents had gotten arrested for possession of illegal drugs and they lost all legal parental custody over us, and we got sent into foster care," Teresa explained.
"And like I said, our actual parents weren't exactly great. They were more focused on getting high off of their asses instead of taking care of us," Jacket added.
"The foster home was no better. Ornell was always bullied most of the time and the caretakers rarely intervened. And months later, he ran away. And I haven't seen him since," Teresa said.
"Damn, Jacket," Jesse said.
"Why do you keep calling him Jacket by the way?" Teresa asked Jesse.
"That's his nickname. He was a gang member," Jesse answered as Jacket glared at him.
"HE'S A WHAT?!" Teresa screamed.
She turned her head to face his brother as he widened eyes with a gulp. Teresa then slaps Jacket across the face. He yelped out in pain as he rubbed his cheek.
"A gang member? That's where you have been all this time?!" Teresa angrily asked.
"To be fair, Jesse did say 'was.' As in, no longer," Jacket said, raising his hands.
"Doesn't mean you can go around doing drugs, stealing money, and killing people, you idiot!" Teresa shouted.
"Jesse did want in so he and I can go after the guy that ran you over," Jacket said, pointing at his friend.
"Excuse me?!" Teresa asked, turning her head at Jesse.
"Jacket, you rat bastard," Jesse hissed at Jacket as he gave a smug look.
Teresa then slapped Jesse across the face as he cried out in pain.
"Are you out of your mind?!" she asked.
"I can explain," Jesse said.
"Explain then!" Teresa demanded.
"I was just upset that you were hurt and even worried that you would have died. And Jacket was after his ex-partner and was also the one who ran you over. So we both agreed to find and kill him," Jesse explained.
"Jesse, you didn't have to go on a kill spree just for me. And besides, I feel like there's something else behind all that," Teresa said. "So what is it?"
"It's because... It's because..." Jesse struggled to speak.
"You love her, don't you?" Jacket cuts in.
Jesse was silent as he bowed his head.
"Jesse... is that true?" Jacket asked
Jesse nods in response to Teresa's question. He turned to face Jacket.
"How did you figure it out?" he asked.
"The way you talk about her gave me the idea that you might have feelings for her," Jacket answered.
Teresa stepped up to Jesse as she placed her hand on his cheek.
"Jesse, I..."
Suddenly, bullets were shot through the window. Just as the shots were about to strike at Teresa, Jesse activated his semblance as everything around him slowed down. He grabbed onto her and gently laid her down to the floor down to the floor before the bullets could tag her. As Jesse deactivates his semblance, Jacket dives down to the floor and crawls his way to the window. The firing soon stopped and Jacket peered his head over the window sill and to his shock saw Cy and Bonnie out in the parking lot with a lot of members of the Black Disciples.
"Come on out, Jacket! We know you and your n**** friend are in there!" Cy called out.
