Misao fled through the rooms, terrified. They had taken it. She had felt it.
What did they do to my painting? I thought I kept it safe, locked up...
She stopped, then looked around.
"Why..."
Why did they take it? What are they going to do to it? I guess...I'd better find it...
She closed her eyes, and pictured the "gallery".
A bird's-eye-view of it came to her, and she scanned the area where the others had been split up.
Aki?
Then she found them.
Misao opened her eyes and started running again, this time with lighter footsteps, as if she were happier.
She reached the door to the brown space and opened it.
Peering inside, she saw that no one was there. Sighing, she walked forwards, still not finding anyone.
Turning back to the door, Misao saw that there was no longer any door there.
What? Why...?
Gritting her teeth, Misao spun around to face the other door.
She heard voices coming from the next room.
With a manic grin on her face, Misao pulled out a sharp knife and started slowly moving towards the door.
"It's Misao's painting!" Madotsuki said, looking at the others as she spotted a painting on the wall.
The painting was of a schoolyard, people in the background, one of which looked a lot like Aki. There was a big rip in the canvas.
"Let's get rid of it!" Ellen exclaimed.
"No," Aki whispered. "not Misao."
"But...Fine. Let's leave it, then." Madotsuki sighed.
Suddenly, Ellen heard what sounded like a faint footstep.
She whipped around, glaring at the door.
I swear it moved.
"Guys..." she whispered. "I heard someone in that room..."
Aki gasped and Madotsuki shivered.
Suddenly, the door creaked open a little.
"Guys!" Ellen yelled, pushing them out of the way, over to a gap in the floor.
They all stood on the edge of the gap, terrified.
The door burst open, and there stood Misao, grinning crazily, holding an extremely sharp knife in her hand.
"Misao!" Aki yelled, trying to move forwards.
Ellen caught her arm and held her back.
"Ellen! Let...me...go!" Aki snapped, trying to pull her arm free.
"Don't go near her," Madotsuki muttered.
Misao advanced on them, her eyes bulging. "Now I can finally get my revenge!"
Ellen squeezed her eyes shut and waited for it to be over.
Misao...
"Misao, no!" Aki yelled, but Misao ignored her, and held the knife above her head, ready to strike.
Misao ran towards Aki, still grinning. "Revenge!" she cackled, plunging the knife down-
But Aki darted quickly out of the way, straight into Ellen, who nearly toppled backwards into the blackness.
Misao's knife had gone too far forward. She lost her balance, and fell into the gap, screaming.
"Where does that lead...?" Madotsuki asked.
Aki shook her head, panting and gasping. "M-Misao...no..." she whispered.
"She'll be fine," Ellen said. "She's a painting. The only way to kill her would be to get rid of her canvas, right?"
"Right..." Madotsuki said thoughtfully.
"Let's do it." Aki murmured. "Let's destroy her canvas."
