'm so sorry for the delay! Something very sad has happened in my family, so I hope you can forgive my lack of writing. Also, I've changed my Pen Name! Once again thank you to everyone who has reviewed, favourited and followed! Without further ado, here's the next, perhaps slightly shorter, oneshot! (It's a little angst-y!) - Becca xo

Confused

"He loves her, doesn't he?" Stella said to Frank. They were sitting at the computers in a darkened HQ, looking over footage of Dan and Zoe in action, checking up on the team's progress. Frank turned his head to look at her face which was illuminated by the computer monitor. "It's so obvious, the way he checks how she's doing during the fight, he wants to protect her..." She faded off. Frank just let her talk to herself, because he knew exactly what she was thinking.
Spy's weren't supposed to love. It was a distraction, plain and simple. Being a spy means you're always on guard, and having feelings for a team mate, looking out for them as well as yourself, was a huge risk. Frank and Stella knew better than anyone what hell that could be.
"Stella," he started, "they're only young, there's nothing serious going on..."
"Oh there is and you know it! Zoe might not realise it yet, but Dan has and he's fallen head over heels for her!" She said, standing up from her chair.
"Stella calm down, there's noting we can do, it'll just hurt them more if we split them up, you know that..."
"Now you're making it personal..." She muttered, crossing her arms defensively.
"Just hold on a second, this has nothing to do with us. We lost an entire team - our friends! You and I both know that we couldn't handle it!" He said, raising his voice and standing up too. It seemed as if the weeks of tension, the ignoring of their relationship, if you could call it that, was finally beginning to build up, and they were ready to let it out.
"You could have at least called me..." Stella faded off, sounding quite hurt.
"If that's what all this is about, I got the impression you didn't want me too." He stated.
"Oh really," she got defensive again, "why the hell was that then?"
"You were cold towards me. I saw you strutting around MI9, head in the clouds like nothing happened. You flirted with Stark right in front of me! You let him take you out even though I know you hated it, just to get a reaction!" Frank finished.
"Well it obviously worked," she began, "what you just said is an example of that. But it appeared to me that you were coping in your own little bubble too! You got on pretty well, busied yourself with your work! I stopped thinking about you in, two, maybe three months, tops!"
"Ah, that's a lie, you still did!" He said.
"I did not! You said so yourself, I let Stark take me out!" Stella yelled back, starting yet more bickering.
"Stark was a distraction, you wanted me jealous Stella Knight!" Frank was trying to get a reaction from her now, and he could see it was working.
"I did no such thing!" She replied pulling herself to full height. Even though Stella was in heels, he towered over her.
"Oh really?"
"Yes really. You and your stupid shirts and gadgets and... And..."
She was running out of excuses. Truthfully she never hated any of those things, they were what made Frank, Frank. And said agent had become rather close to her during their heated argument - Stella was feeling closed in.
"Shirts and gadgets? Is that really the best you've got?" He said with a smirk. Now he knew he was getting to her.
"I've had enough of this," she said finally, before quickly grabbing the front of his blazer and bringing his lips crashing down on hers.
His hands instinctively rested on he hips as her arms flew around his neck, bringing him as close as humanly possible.
But as quickly as it had began, Stella pulled back.
"Wait, no" she said, lowering her arms to her side and straightening herself out, "we can't... I-I have to go... Yes. Sorry. Got to go," she finished abruptly.
Frank was speechless, one minute she was all over him and the next she was leaving?!
Stella quickly grabbed her bag and made for the lift without so much as a goodbye, leaving Frank utterly confused.
"What the hell just happened..." He muttered to himself.
