Blaine sprinted around the corner and came to an abrupt stop, heaving for breath. It had only been a couple of weeks since the infection was released into the public, but to Blaine it felt like years. He walked slowly down the street wielding his new-found weapons, knowing that he was capable to stop any zombies that he came across. Blaine smirked as he remembered when thought it would have been hard to retrieve but, since everybody in Ohio was either cowering in their homes or already infected, it had been easy to collect what he needed from a local store.

He felt a little bit bad for the people who were waiting for the end in the arms of their loved ones, but he shook it off. Those people had someone, Blaine had no one to help or comfort him. "Cowards" Blaine muttered to himself as he neared the end of the street. Blaine suddenly heard a soft moaning and the sound of feet beating off the pavement. He turned to the sound, he didn't know that Zombies could run but instantly smiled as this would make his life a little more interesting.

But his joy left him as soon as he saw a teenage boy run out from the end of the street. The boy looked exhausted as he ran into the street that Blaine was standing on. Blaine saw the tiny pack of Zombies coming up the end of the street, chasing the boy. Blaine pulled out a scythe from his bag as the boy ran straight past him.

As the Zombies came closer, Blaine heard the sound of the boys footsteps stop and he knew the boy had stopped to what Blaine fight off the Zombies. The first Zombie that came closer to him and Blaine swung the scythe at the Zombies arm. He saw the dark infected blood ooze out of the Zombies wound but it didn't fall off like in the movies.

Blaine tried to pull out the scythe but it would budge. The Zombie pushed Blaine to the ground with one shove and Blaine knew that this was it. Over the noise of the Zombies moans of pain, He heard the sound of footsteps coming towards him. Blaine felt a hand pulling him up from the ground. Blaine turned around and he saw he was face to face with the boy. "Don't just stand there! Run!" The boy shouted at Blaine as he grabbed his hand and pulled him back along the street Blaine walked down.

They turned the corner and knew that they had a bit of time to stop for breath. "What's your name?" Blaine asked as he tried to catch his breath.

"Kurt" The boy said back as he looked around their surroundings. Kurt turned and looked at Blaine "Yours?" Kurt asked.

"Blaine" He replied as he heard the faint sound of moaning and they both knew it was time to run.
