The parting of the ways

Alyssa clung onto the railings of the Tardis as the Doctor raced around the consoles, making it fly to the Dalek mothership where Rose was being held captive.

"What will they do with her?" she asked.

"I don't know and I'm not going to stand there and find out, that's why we're saving her" the Doctor replied.

"We've got incoming!" Jack warned as the Daleks launched a deadly missile attack on the Tardis but Jack had managed to set up a ginat forcefield around them just in time to stop the missiles from blowing them to smithereens "the extrapolator's working. We've got a fully functional forcefield. Try saying that when you're drunk."

" And for my next trick" the Doctor announced as he made the Tardis materilise around Rose and a Dalek that was nearest to her and he told Rose to get down as the Dalek aimed it's weapon at the Doctor but it's shot missed as Jack blew it up with his large gun machine.

"You did it" Rose said as she got up and ran over to the Doctor, hugging him " Feels like I haven't seem you in years." Alyssa leaned against the railings and smiled, happy to have Rose back with them.

" I told you I'd come and get you" the Doctor told her.

"Never doubted it" Rose replied as she pulled herself from his hug.

"I did. You all right? " the Doctor asked.

"Yeah. You?" Rose asked.

"Not bad, been better" the Doctor replied as Alyssa walked over to them with a cheeky smirk and her amrs folded.

"Ahem, didn't you forget someone?" she asked and Rose chuckled, pulling the younger girl into a hug.

"I'm so glad you're okay" she said.

"I've had one heck of a day you won't believe, I got trapped on this game show that was like Big brother but it was for kids" Alyssa explained "the Doctor came a saved me though."

"Well I'm glad you're okay" Rose said.

"Hey, don't I get a hug?" Jack asked as he came walking to Rose.

" Oh, come here! " Rose said as she walked over to Jack.

" I was talking to him" Jack said, pointing at the Doctor before laughing and pulling Rose into a hug "Welcome home."

"Oh, I thought I'd never see you again" Rose replied.

"Oh, you were lucky. That was just a one shot wonder" Jack said as he let go of Rose and picked up his huge gun " Drained the gun of all its power supply. Now it's just a piece of junk." Alyssa walked over to the now destroyed Dalek and looked at it. She didn't feel scared by it now that it was just a blown up Giant pepperpot but she found them a little more intimidating when they're alive.

"You said they were extinct. How comes they're still alive? " Rose asked as she joined Alyssa to take a look at the dead Dalek.

"One minute they're the greatest threat in the Universe, the next minute they vanished out of time and space" Jack explained.

"They went off to fight a bigger war. The Time War" the Doctor replied grimly.

" I thought that was just a legend" Jack pointed out.

"I was there. The war between the Daleks and the Time Lords, with the whole of creation at stake. My people were destroyed, but they took the Daleks with them. I almost thought it was worth it. Now it turns out they died for nothing" the Doctor explained with the same grim expression on his face.

"There's thousands of them now. We could hardly stop on" Rose pointed out.

"What are we going to do now?" Alyssa asked.

"No good stood round here chin wagging. Human race, you'd gossip all day. The Daleks have got the answers. Let's go and meet the neighbours" the Doctor said with a grin, clapping his hands together as he ran to the doors despite Rose warning him not to go outside and when he opened the door, they were greeted by three Daleks.

"Exterminate! Exterminate! Exterminate! " the three Daleks yelled, shooting their lasers at the Doctor but they missed due to the force filed that was surrounding the Tardis.

" Is that it? Useless! Null points" the Doctor said to the three Daleks before turning to his three companions "It's all right, come on out. That force field can hold back anything."

"Almost anything" Jack pointed out.

"Yes, but I wasn't going to tell them that. Thanks" the Doctor pointed out as Rose and Alyssa stepped out of the Tardis with Alyssa holding tightly onto Rose's hand.

"Sorry" Jack replied as the Doctor turned round to face the Daleks with a threatening look on his face.

"Do you know what they call me in the ancient legends of the Dalek Homeworld? The Oncoming Storm. You might've removed all your emotions but I reckon right down deep in your DNA, there's one little spark left, and that's fear. Doesn't it just burn when you face me? So tell me. How did you survive the Time War?" the Doctor asked.

"They survived through me" a deep booming voice said from behind them and the four of them turned around to see a giant Dalek like apparatus which held a giant mutant creature inside a glass tank that was attached to the middle.

"Rose, Alyssa, Captain, this is the Emperor of the Daleks" the Doctor pointed out, his voice shaking.

"You destroyed us, Doctor. The Dalek race died in your inferno, but my ship survived, falling through time, crippled but alive" the Emperor boomed as Alyssa clung tighter to Rose's hand, feeling really nervous.

" I get it" the Doctor pointed out before the Daleks told him not to to interrupt but he tunred to them with a smirk " I think you're forgetting something. I'm the Doctor, and if there's one thing I can do, it's talk. I've got five billion languages, and you haven't got one way of stopping me. So if anybody's going to shut up" his smirk quickly transfomred to look of anger "IT'S YOU" he then turned around to face the Dalek Emperor " Okey doke. So, where were we?"

"We waited here in the dark space, damaged but rebuilding. Centuries passed, and we quietly infiltrated the systems of Earth, harvesting the waste of humanity. The prisoners, the refugees, the dispossessed. They all came to us. The bodies were filtered, pulped, sifted. The seed of the human race is perverted. Only one cell in a billion was fit to be nurtured" the Emperor explained as Rose, Jack and Alyssa all stood there listening with looks of pure discust on their faces.

"So you created an army of Daleks out of the dead" the Doctor pointed out.

"That makes them half human" Alyssa pointed out with a sickened expression on her face.

"Those words are blasphemy" the Emperor boomed, making Alyssa squeal and jump back a little.

"Do not blaspheme" the Daleks all chorused multiple times.

"Everything human has been purged. I cultivated pure and blessed Dalek" the Emperor stated and the Doctor looked at it with a confused expression.

"Since when did the Daleks have a concept of blasphemy? " he asked.

"I reached into the dirt and made new life. I am the God of all Daleks! " the Emperor declared.

"Worship him. Worship him. Worship him" the Daleks chanted.

"They're insane. Hiding in silence for hundreds of years, that's enough to drive anyone mad. But it's worse than that. Driven mad by your own flesh. The stink of humanity. You hate your own existence. And that makes them more deadly than ever" the Doctor said before he and the other three turned to head back into the Tardis "We're going."

"You may not leave my presence" the Emperor roared and the Daleks started shooting their lazers at them but the Doctor and his companions all got back into the Tardis.

"Is he okay?" Alyssa asked, pointing at the Doctor who was leaning against the doors of the Tardis.

"I think he's probably grieving for his people" Jack explained " the Daleks did kill them and I think seeing them again must have brought back memories." After a couple of minutes. the Doctor tunred around and ran back up the ramp.

"Right we need to head back to the game station, warn them that the Daleks are planning to invade the station" he stated as he set up the controls and getting in contact with the staff and telling Lynda to get everyone off the station as quickly as possible.

"But what if they're already there" Alyssa pointed out " it might be too late."

"Not if I've got anything to do with it" the Doctor replied as the Tardis landed back on floor Five hundred and the four of them stepped out with the Doctor warning them about the invasion "turn everything up. All transmitters full power, wide open. Now! Do it!."

"What does this do? " Pavale asked.

"Stops the Daleks from transmatting on board. How did you get on? Did you contact Earth? " the Doctor said.

"Well, we tried to warn them, but all they did was suspend our license because we stopped the programmes" Pavale explained.

"And the planet's just sitting there, defenceless" the Doctor stated before he noticed that Lynda was still there "Lynda, what're you still doing on board? I told you to evacuate everyone."

"She wouldn't go" Pavale said.

" Didn't want to leave you" Lynda pointed out.

"There weren't enough shuttles anyway, or I wouldn't be here. We've got about a hundred people stranded on Floor Zero" Pavale explained before looking on the system and saw that the Daleks were now heading for them "Oh, my God. The Fleet is moving. They're on their way."

"Right, we best get to work then" the Doctor stated before he ran towards the conduiteand began pulling wiring out from then "Dalek plan. Big mistake, because what have they left me with? Anyone? Anyone? Oh, come on, it's obvious. A great big transmitter. This station. If I can change the signal, fold it back, sequence it, anyone?."

"You've got to be kidding" Jack pointed out.

"Give the man a medal" the Doctor replied.

"A Delta Wave? " Jack asked and Doctor yelled the same as Jack had just said, throwing his arms up in the air.

"What is a Delya wave?" Alyssa asked raising an eyebrow in confusion.

"A wave of Van Cassadyne energy. It fries your brain. Stand in the way of a Delta Wave and your head gets barbequed" Jack explained.

"And this place can transmit a massive wave. Wipe out the Daleks! " the Doctor pointed out.

"ZZZap, bye bye daleks" Alyssa added with a victory punch in the air and Jack couldn't help but giggle at her playful nature.

" Well, get started and do it then" Lynda said.

" Trouble is, wave this size, building this big, brain as clever as mine, should take about, oh, three days? How long till the Fleet arrive?" the Doctor asked.

"Twenty two minutes" Pavale said, looking at the scanner and the Doctor continued to pull more wiring from the conduit whilst the others gathered around the scanner.

"We've now got a forcefield so they can't blast us out of the sky, but that doesn't stop the Daleks from physically invading" Jack explained.

"Do they know about the Delta Wave? " pavale asked.

"They'll have worked it out at the same time" Jack replied before continuing "So, they want to stop the Doctor. That means they've got to get to this level, five hundred. Now, I can concentrate the extrapolator around the top six levels, five hundred to four nine five. So they'll penetrate the station below that at level four nine four and fight their way up. "

"Who are they fighting? " Pavale asked.

"Us" Jack replied.

"And what are we fighting with?" Pavale asked.

"The guards had guns with bastic bullets. That's enough to blow a Dalek wide open" jack explained.

"What about the girl" the staff woman said, gesturing to Alyssa "she can't fight, she's just a kid."

"She can help me, Rose I could use your help too" the Doctor shouted from across the room and both Alyssa and Rose went towards the Doctor to give him a hnad with the conduit.

"Right, now there's four of us" the woman pointed out.

"Then let's move it. Into the lift. Isolate the lift controls" Jack said and pavale and his staff ran off as Lynda went to the Doctor.

" I just want to say, er, thanks, I suppose, and I'll do my best" she told him.

"Me too" the Doctor replied shaking Lynda's hand before she ran off to join the others and Jack walked up to them.

"It's been fun, but I guess this is goodbye" the american said.

" Don't talk like that. The Doctor's going to do it. You just watch him" Rose pointed out but Jack took her by the cheeks and looked right at her.

" Rose, you are worth fighting for" he told her before kissing her on the lips and Alyssa made a few fake retching npises, telling them to get a room but Jack turned to her with a cheeky smirk " don't think you're getting out of this young lady." He then chased the giggling Alyssa around the room before catching her but the little girl didn't try to break free, she gave him a hug to wish him good luck.

"Don't worry about me squirt" he said before setting her back down to the ground and walking towards the Doctor "Wish I'd never met you, Doctor. I was much better off as a coward." He then kissed the Doctor before saying a final farewell to the three of them and then leaving.

"Bye Jack" Alyssa said, waving after him.

"He's going to be all right, isn't he?" Rose asked with a worried tone in her voice.

"Of course he will, Jack's a big boy, he can take care of himself" the Doctor replied. Rose sighed and sat down on the floor as Alyssa joined her, pulling her knees up to her chin and wrapping her arms around her legs.

"Suppose" Rose muttered and the Doctor looked at her, asking her what she had just said but Rose pointed out that she said nothing.

"You said suppose" the Doctor remininded her.

"You did, I heard you" Alyssa added.

"No, I was just thinking. I mean, obviously you can't, but, you've got a time machine. Why can't you just go back to last week and warn them?" Rose suggested.

"As soon as the Tardis lands in that second, I become part of events, stuck in the timeline" the Doctor explained.

" Yeah, thought it'd be something like that" Rose replied.

"There's another thing the Tardis could do. It could take us away. We could leave. Let history take its course. We go to Marbella in 1989" the Doctor suggested.

"You mean like a holiday?" Alyssa asked.

"yeah you could say that" the Doctor replied.

"Yeah, but you'd never do that" Rose pointed out.

"No, but you could ask. Never even occurred to you, did it?" the Doctor asked as Alyssa smiled at him in reponse.

"Well, I'm just too good" Rose replied as the machine across the room began making a beeping noise.

"The Delta Wave's started building. How long does it need? " the Doctor wondered as he and the two girls got up and ran over to the scanner.

" Is that bad?" Rose asked and the look on the Doctor's face said it all "Okay, it's bad. How bad is it?." With out any warning, the Doctor turned around with a huge grin across his face.

"Rose Tyler, you're a genius!" he said, planting a kiss on her and it made Alyssa cringe "We can do it. If I use the Tardis to cross my old timeline. Yes!." The three of them then ran inside the tardis and stood around the console with the Doctor telling Rose to hold down one of the panels.

"What's it do? " she asked.

"Cancels the buffers. If I'm very clever and I'm more than clever, I'm brilliant, I might just save the world. Or rip it apart " the Doctor explained.

"I'd go for the first one" Rose pointed out.

"Make that double for me" said Alyssa.

"Me too. Now, I've just got to go and power up the Game Station. Hold on!" the Doctor said before running out of the tardis, leaving Rose to hold onto the panel and with out warning, the doors suddenly closed and the engines started up.

"Rose, what's going on?" Alyssa asked, her voice shaking slightly.

"I don't know" Roe muttered before yelling to the Doctor "Doctor, what're you doing? Can I take my hand off? It's moving." She then let go of the panel and ran towards the doors, trying to open them but they were locked.

"We're locked in" Alyssa pointed out and the two girls began banging on the doors.

"Doctor, let us out, let us out" they both yelled.

"What's he done?" Alyssa asked, she was shaking now and nearly in tears, it wasn't like the Doctor to do something like this.

"I don't know Ally" Rose told her in a gentle tone before they heard a voice from behind them.

"This is Emergency Programme One" the two girls turned around to see a holographic Doctor standing by the console "Rose, Alyssa now listen, this is important. If this message is activated, then it can only mean one thing. We must be in danger. And I mean fatal. I'm dead or about to die any second with no chance of escape. "

"No" Rose whispered, eyes filling up with tears and Alyssa had already burst into tears. The little girl was now sliding down onto the floor, keeping her tear filled eyes on the Holo-Doctor.

" And that's okay. Hope it's a good death. But I promised to look after you, and that's what I'm doing. The Tardis is taking you home" the hologram explained.

" I won't let you" Rose mumbled as Alyssa sobbed behind her.

"And I bet you're fussing and moaning now. Typical. But hold on and just listen a bit more. The Tardis can never return for me. Emergency Programme One means I'm facing an enemy that should never get their hands on this machine. So this is what you should do. Let the Tardis die. Just let this old box gather dust. No one can open it. No one'll even notice it. Let it become a strange little thing standing on a street corner. And over the years, the world'll move on and the box will be buried. And if you want to remember me, then you can do one thing. That's all, one thing. Have a good life. Do that for me, Rose. Have a fantastic life and take care of Alyssa, maybe you can help her get back home" the hologram said before disappearing and Rose was now really upset.

"You can't do this to me" she sobbed before running around the console, trying to work the controls "You can't. Take me back! Take me back!."

"Rose" a scared little voice said from behind her and Rose turned around to see Alyssa slumped onto the floor, tears running down her cheeks.

"Oh Ally" Rose said, running over to the younger girl and pulling her up into a hug "it's ok, it's ok."

"Why did he do that?" the child asked, her voice sounding muffled from Rose's chest.

"I think he was saving our lives, I just wish we could go back and help him" Rose explained. The two girls then walked out of the tardis to see that it had taken them back to the powell estate where Rose lived. Both girls, leaned against the Tardis and didn't notice Mickey running up to them until they heard his voice.

"I knew it! I was all the way down Clifton Parade, and I heard the engines. I thought, there's only one thing that makes a noise like that" he said before noticing that Rose was nearly sobbing " What is it?" Rose didn't say anything, she just turned around a hugged him, in tears.

"The Doctor sent us back" Alyssa said, drying her eyes.

"What do you mean?" Mickey asked her as he still comforted Rose.

"He's fighting some evil robots called the Daleks three thousand years in the future" the little girl explained "he sent us back so that we'll be safe."

"Well I'm sure he probably did the right thing" Mickey reassured her before turning to Rose "I said I'd meet your mum down at the cafe, why don't you both come along, take your mind of things."

"I'm not hungry" Rose mumbled.

"Me neither" said Alyssa.

"Come on Rose, your mum hasn't seen you since you went off with the Doctor, she'll be happy to see you" Mickey pointed out before he and the two girls went to meet Jackie at the cafe and when she saw Rose, she ran over to her daughter and flung her arms around her.

"Oh my Rose, what are you doing here, where's the Doctor?" she asked.

"He sent us back, me and Alyssa" Rose pointed out "he is fighting for us right now way off in the future, two thousand years and he's dying mum, he's dying." Jackie then saw the small twelve year old girl standing next to Mickey and asked why she was still with Rose and the Doctor instead of her parents.

"I can't find them" Alyssa said in a small voice "the Doctor promised to look after me until I find them." Alyssa was now confused, was still a realistic dream caused by the knock to her head from one of them intruders who broke into her house the night she was having her Doctor who marathon, whatever it was, she had been involved in all the episodes of the first series and now began to wonder if she'll dream about herself being involved in future episodes.

"The Doctor made me promise to take care of her until we can find her mum and dad" Rose said as Alyssa came to stand next to her.

"The Doctor did say something about her not being able to find her mum and dad, how did she get separated from them in the first place?" Jackie asked.

"I was at home, my mum and dad had gone to a work party and these two men broke in and tried to break into my dad's safe but I jumped out of hiding and told them to get away from it and they chased me upstairs. I think one of them hit me over the head and then the next minute I'm waking up in the Doctor's tardis with no clue how I got there" Alyssa explained.

"Why didn't your mum and dad get a babysitter, how old are you, ten?" Jackie asked.

"I'm Twelve" Alyssa pointed out.

"I'm sorry but no offense, you are quite small for your age" Jackie pointed out gesturing to Alyssa's small stature "but never mind that, I'm starving, let's get something to eat." The four of them then went inside the cafe and Jackie got them all fish and chips but neither Rose or Alyssa were hungry, they were both still worried about the Doctor but Jackie was happily talking away.

"Have you been to that new kebab shop?" she asked "it's becoming quite popular and it's gone up market, this place. They're doing little tubs of coleslaw, now. It's not very nice. It tastes a bit sort of clinical."

" Have you tried that new pizza place down Minto Road?" Mickey asked.

"What's it selling?" Jackie asked.

" Pizza" Mickey replied.

"That's nice. Do they deliver?" Jackie asked before noticing that Rose wasn't eating anything "Oh, Rose, have something to eat."

"Two hundred thousand years in the future, he's dying, and there's nothing I can do" Rose replied, not making eye contact with Jackie.

"Well, like you said two hundred thousand years. It's way off" Jackie pointed out.

"But it's not. It's now" Rose pointed out, now making eye contact with Jackie "hat fight is happening right now, and he's fighting for us, for the whole planet, and I'm just sitting here eating chips."

"Listen to me" Jackie snapped making Alyssa jump "God knows I have hated that man, but right now, I love him and do you know why? Because he did the right thing. He sent you back to me."

"But what do I do every day, mum? What do I do? Get up, catch the bus, go to work, come back home, eat chips and go to bed? Is that it? " Rose asked, her eyes now beginning to fill with tears.

" It's what the rest of us do" Mickey pointed out.

"But I can't!" Rose snapped.

" Why, because you're better than us? " Mickey asked sarcastically.

"Stop it" Alyssa snapped but Jackie shushed her.

"No, I didn't mean that" Rose replied "But it was. It was a better life. And I don't mean all the travelling and seeing aliens and spaceships and things. That don't matter. The Doctor showed me a better way of living your life. You know he showed you too. That you don't just give up. You don't just let things happen. You make a stand. You say no. You have the guts to do what's right when everyone else just runs away, and I just can't ." She then got up and ran out of the cafe.

"Rose wait" Alyssa said, getting up to leave but Jackie stopped her.

"She'll be okay" She told the young girl.

"But She's my friend, I can't leave her, I need to see if she's ok" Alyssa pointed out before sprinting out of the cafe to find Rose who was sitting in a play ground on the powell estate.

"Hi" Alyssa said as she came and sat down next to Rose.

"What are you doing here?" Rose asked.

"I came to see if you were ok" Alyssa replied.

"I can't sit around here, I need to get back, I need to help the Doctor" Rose stated.

"He isn't going to die is he?" Alyssa asked, her voice quivering "he can't." Rose pulled the younger girl into a hug as she burst into tears.

"It's going to be ok, we'll figure out a way to help him" she reassured her.

"But how can we if the Tardis won't work" Alyssa replied as Mickey arrived and Rose asked him how he had found her.

"You always come here when you want to have a sulk" Mickey as he sat down next to Rose "or do you think I forgot." Rose didn't even chuckle or smile at Mickey's remark and he asked her if she was still thinking about the Doctor.

"I can't help it, he was the best thing that ever happened to me" Rose replied "ever since I met him, my life has changed completely."

"Look" Mickey told her gently as Alyssa wiped her eyes, listening silently to their conversation "You can't spend the rest of your life thinking about the Doctor."

" But how do I forget him? " Rose asked, pulling her knees up to her chin.

" You've got to start living your own life. You know, a proper life, like the kind he's never had. The sort of life that you could have with me" Mickey suggested as both Rose and Alyssa noticed the words BAD WOLF written on the tarmac in the play ground.

"Oh my god" Alyssa whispered as Rose noticed the same words written on the wall across from them.

"Over here. It's over here as well!" Rose yelled as she ran over to the wall with Mickey and Alyssa following behind her.

"That's been there for years. It's just a phrase. It's just words" Mickey pointed out.

" I thought it was a warning" Rose pointed out "Maybe it's the opposite. Maybe it's a message. The same words written down now and two hundred thousand years in the future. It's a link between me and the Doctor. Bad Wolf here, Bad Wolf there. "

"But if it's a message, what's it saying?" Mickey asked as both Rose and Alyssa began running out of the play ground.

"It's telling me I can get back. The least I can do is help him escape" Rose yelled out. Without hesitation,Mickey followed after them and found them at the Tardi, both of them inside.

"Rose is going to tell the Tardis to take us back" Alyssa announced, beaming as Mickey entered the Tardis.

"There is no way you can do that" Mickey pointed out "how are you going to manage it?"

"All the Tardis needs to do is make a return trip. Just reverse" Rose pointed out.

" Yeah, but we still can't do it" Mickey insisted.

"The Doctor always said the Tardis was telepathic. This thing is alive. It can listen" Rose said.

"It's not listening now, is it? " Mickey pointed out.

"That's because it's sleeping" Alyssa said, putting her finger to her lips and making a shushing noise.

" We need to get inside it" Rose explained "Last time I saw you, with the Slitheen, this middle bit opened, and there was this light, and the Doctor said it was the heart of the Tardis. If we can open it, I can make contact. I can tell it what to do. "

"Rose" Mickey said with a hint of disappointment " If you go back, you're going to die."

"That's a risk I've got to take, because there's nothing left for me here" Rose pointed out.

" Nothing?" Mickey asked and Rose shook her head " Okay, if that's what you think, let's get this thing open."

"But how are we going to get it open?" Alyssa asked.

"Just wait here you two, I have just the thing" Mickey said before rushing out of the arrived a little while later in his yellow car along with a long chain and Jackie.

"Why is my mum here?" Rose asked.

"She insisted on coming" Mickey said as he got out the chain.

"What are you going to do with that?" Alyssa asked.

"Well if I hook this around the console and connect it to the back of the car, I could drive the car and it might use some force to pull the console open" Mickey explained.

"Good plan Mick-a-roo" Alyssa stated as he got in his car and slowly began to drive forward, trying to pull the console open.

"Faster!" Rose yelled "it's not moving."

"Come on Mickey" Alyssa yelled. the chain unfortunately came off the console without opening it up and Rose kicked it in frustration. Jackie then came into the Tardis and Rose asked her what she wanted.

"I just wanted to have a chat with you" Jackie pointed out.

"If you came here to talk me into staying then you're wasting your time" Rose said as she sat on the pilot's chair.

"But you can't spent the rest of your life with the Doctor" Jackie said "It was never going to work, sweetheart. And the Doctor knew that. He just wanted you to be safe."

"I can't give up" Rose pointed out.

"Lock the door. Walk away" Jackie advised as Alyssa started feeling her eyes tearing up again, she was now becoming more and more worried about the Doctor.

" Dad wouldn't give up" Rose pointed out.

"Well, he's not here, is he? And even if he was, he'd say the same" Jackie pointed out.

"Look you guys, I'm going to go sit in my room for a while and let you guys be alone" Alyssa announced.

"You ok, you're not sick are you?" Rose asked, feeling the little girl's forehead. but she just shook her head and said that she wanted to take a little nap.

"Okay" Rose said and Alyssa went further into the Tardis to her bedroom that the Doctor had made for her when she first arrived. The room was a set up like a bedroom that was suitable a Twelve year old girl. Alyssa collapsed onto her bed which was in the center of the room, curled up into a ball and closed her eyes. She woke up a few minutes later and she could hear the Tardis engines so she swung her legs out of bed and ran out of her room, down the corridor and into the control room where she saw Rose, staring into a a bright light and she immediately recognized it as the same light that transformed Margeret the Slitheen back into an egg.

"Rose, what are you doing" she yelled but Rose didn't answer her, she was transfixed onto the bright light and the Tardis suddenly came to a halt, the doors flying open and Alyssa raced out, straight back into the game station and she found the Doctor being surrounded by Daleks.

"Doctor" Alyssa said with a big grin and when he saw her, he was surprised.

"Alyssa?" he asked.

"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS, EXTERMINATE HER" the Dalek emperor who was on a huge screen at the end of the room barked.

"EX=TER=MIN-ATE" One of the Daleks yelled, aiming it's laser gun at Alyssa but the Doctor quickly pulled her out of the firing line.

"What are you doing back here?" he asked.

"I think it was Rose" Alyssa said, pointing to Rose who was stood at the Tardis entrance, surrounded by a bright white light and she slowly stepped out.

"What've you done?" he asked as Alyssa covered her eyes, protecting herself from the bright light.

"I looked into the Tardis, and the Tardis looked into me" Rose said but her voice didn't sound like her normal self, her voice was more goddess like.

"You looked into the Time Vortex. Rose, no one's meant to see that" he said, shocked and what Rose had just done.

"This is the Abomination!" the Emperor said.

"EX-TER-MIN-ATE" a Dalek shrieked, shooting at Rose but she put her hnad up, stopping the beam from the Dalek's gun, making it reverse back.

"I am the Bad Wolf. I create myself. I take the words" she said, making the words BAD WOLF that was written on the wall, making them fly away in different directions "I scatter them in time and space. A message to lead myself here."

" Rose, you've got to stop this. You've got to stop this now" the Doctor warned her "You've got the entire vortex running through your head. You're going to burn."

"No" Alyssa yelled.

" I want you safe" she replied in her goddess like voice "My Doctor. Protected from the false god."

"You cannot hurt me. I am immortal" the Emperor informed but Rose turned her head up to look at the screen.

"You are tiny. I can see the whole of time and space. Every single atom of your existence, and I divide them" she said before raising her hand and using her new powers to make one of the Daleks in the room turn to dust "Everything must come to dust. All things. Everything dies. The Time War ends." The Doctor and Alyssa both watched as more Daleks turned to dust and the Emperor was becoming agitated.

"I will not die. I cannot die!" he yelled before turning to dust and the Doctor looked up at Rose.

"Rose, you've done it. Now stop. Just let go" he told her.

"How can I let go of this? I bring life" she said and unbeknownst to them, Jack who had been exterminated by the Daleks earlier was brought back to life.

"But this is wrong! You can't control life and death" the Doctor told her.

"But I can. The sun and the moon, the day and night. But why do they hurt? " she asked, her eyes now begining to fill with tears.

"The power's going to kill you and it's my fault" the Doctor replied, almost crying himself.

" I can see everything. All that is, all that was, all that ever could be" Rose said and the Doctor stood up and looked at her straight in the eye.

"That's what I see. All the time. And doesn't it drive you mad?" he asked her.

"My head" Rose sobbed.

"Come here" the Doctor replied, pulling her towards him.

" It's killing me" she sobbed, now terrified.

" I think you need a Doctor" the Doctor said as he pulled her towards him and Alyssa watched as he planted a kiss on her lips, transferring the golden energy from her eyes and into his until she fainted in his arms. He then layed her gently onto the floor and exhaled the energy back into the Tardis, closing the doors and Alyssa stood up, walking towards where Rose laid.

"Is she going to be okay?" the little girl asked.

"She'll be fine, she's just unconscious" the Doctor replied, putting a hand on her shoulder "well, best we better get going." He then lifted Rose from the floor as Alyssa opened the Tardis doors and the pair of them walked inside and the Doctor placed Rose on the floor gently with Alyssa sitting next to her. A little while later, she began to come round and Alyssa's face lit up.

"What happened? " she asked groggily, slowly pulling herself up into the sitting position.

"Don't you remember?" the Doctor asked.

" It's like there was this singing" Rose pointed out.

"That's right. I sang a song and the Daleks ran away" the Doctor announced with a huge grin.

"yeah, his singing was so bad that it terrified the Daleks and they all ran off, screaming for their mummies" Alyssa giggled.

" I was at home. No, I wasn't, I was in the Tardis, and there was this light. I can't remember anything else" she said and the Doctor turned to the two girls with a Chuckle.

"Rose tyler and Alyssa Benson" he said "I was going take you to so many places. Barcelona. Not the city Barcelona, the planet Barcelona. You'd love it. Fantastic place. They've got dogs with no noses. Imagine how many times a day you end up telling that joke, and it's still funny."

"Then, why can't we go?" Rose asked.

" Maybe you will, and maybe I will. But not like this" the Doctor pointed out.

"You're not making sense" Rose said as she slowly got to her feet.

" I might never make sense again. I might have two heads, or no head. Imagine me with no head. And don't say that's an improvement. But it's a bit dodgy, this process. You never know what you're going to end up with" the Doctor said before he doubled over in pain and both the girls ran to him.

"Doctor" Rose said, looking at him with concern.

"Stay away! " he warned them.

"But what's going on, what's happening?" Alyssa asked him.

" I absorbed all the energy of the Time Vortex, and no one's meant to do that. Every cell in my body's dying" he explained.

"Can't you do something?" Rose asked.

"Yeah, I'm doing it now" the Doctor replied "Time Lords have this little trick, it's sort of a way of cheating death. Except it means I'm going to change, and I'm not going to see you again. Not like this. Not with this daft old face. And before I go."

"Don't say that" Rose interrupted.

"Rose, Alyssa, before I go, Just want to tell you that you were both fantastic, Absolutely fantastic. And do you know what? So was I." Suddenly, a golden burst of energy emitted from the Doctor's body as he underwent regeneration and pretty soon the golden energy vanished and in the Doctor's place stood a different, younger looking man with spiky brown hair.

"Hello. Okay" he said and his voice had changed too, he now had sort of a London accent instead of a north and he was feeling his teeth "new teeth. That's weird. So, where was I? Oh, that's right. Barcelona." The Tenth Doctor then grinned at Rose and Alyssa who looked at him with confusion.

"I have a feeling that this one is going to be really cheeky" Alyssa pointed out.

"I couldn't agree more" Said Rose as the new Doctor continued to grin at them.
