I don't own any of the characters seen here.
He got his answer from the mouths of three teenagers, apparently from a world of endless war, where many new ways of waging such had been developed. He had to learn more about this place himself if such war was coming to his world and to his students. Indeed, it seemed it already had.
"So, tell us more about these stone warriors." These teenagers from another world and his students had apparently already faced them in battle together and been forced to flee. So, they'd come here to him for counsel. Splinter feared he wouldn't have as much to give them as they desired.
A teenager with blue hair and determined expression, who looked almost human save for his longer, pointed ears replied, "They only obey their leader, a guy named Kraang."
Leonardo met the other youth's gaze. Spreading his hands, he took the initiative. Splinter remained silent and watched his prize pupil do so proud of him. "Who is this Kraang?"
The same guest who'd answered him, answered Leonardo's question as well. "The supreme war-lord of Dimension X, man, only he got exiled to another universe."
Ours ... So, another place's problems had become theirs, another's enemy their own. But perhaps they now had allies from such as well. He was appreciative of his students' hospitality to these strangers, who seemed to be on their side against shared enemies now. They seemed impetuous and defiant, but perhaps such was needed to face these foes!
The teenager with red hair and sunglasses added. "And his body got split man and now he's just this waaaaay out brain."
Splinter pondered, Yes, strange, new foes indeed ...
Leonardo turned and pointed to his fellow turtle in orange. "You said you saw some kind of brain, when we were facing the mousers, Michelangelo."
His pupil grinned at this vindication. He crossed his arms as he replied to Leonardo. "Ho, you bet your sweet shell I did."
Splinter understood Michelangelo's elation somewhat. He felt a bit of vindication himself now. He had long watched his old pupil Saki and had thought he knew him well. Then he had begun to doubt himself recently.
Saki had always been a clever, eager pupil, but he had never seen in him an eager love of science matched by Donatello. His brilliant student in purple had astounded him so many times, he'd come to expect it. He had not expected Saki, though, to come up with such things as the mutagen or technodrome he had unleashed on them. Now he knew it was not only Saki he and his students were contending with, but another from a world filled with such technology. He was more glad now than ever before for Donatello's gifts to combat all this new weaponry.
While all this was frightening, he was relieved what he thought he'd known about his old enemy was still true. Saki was clever, ruthless, and willing to do anything dishonorable and embrace new things to win, but he had not a mind and genius to match Donatello's. He had been depending upon another for spectacular inventions. He stated as much now to himself and the others around him. "So that is where the Shredder has been getting his advanced technology to build a means back to his home dimension." As he spoke his confidence at being right drained away in the face of the danger he, his students, and even their universe, now faced.
Donatello turned to one of the teenagers from this different universe while putting his fingers up to his green mouth the way he did whenever he was thoughtful and concerned, "Uh, how many of those stone warriors does this Kraang have in Dimension X?"
As he asked this, the teenager from Dimension X with blue hair was shaking. The one with red hair replied for him as he did. "Like zillions man."
April gasped from this teenager's side. "Then he's going to bring them here and conquer our universe."
Yes, Splinter thought, this is what he had feared. Saki, what have you done to us, our whole world, in your mad passion for power? He would sacrifice his own, whole planet, indeed, his whole universe, for his power-hunger?
The blue-haired teenager from Dimension X declared from where he stood next to the sitting, and only girl teenager from Dimension X there, "Neutrinos," He pulled the girl neutrino up to stand at his side as he proclaimed, "we've got to stop Kraang!"
Raphael declared raising an arm as he did, "Turtles, we've got to help them do it!"
April added with furrowed brow, "Great, but how?"
Raphael answered from his place in the circle they had now formed, perhaps in unconscious solitary, Splinter conjectured, "We find this freak and push him back through the portal to Dimension X!" He pointed to the ceiling to emphasize his "point."
Michelangelo then stepped into it and up to the orange-haired, blue-eyed girl from Dimension X across from him. "Don't worry Kala, we won't let anything happen to you."
The girl clasped her hands in front of her in response as she gazed up into Michelangelo's face with a smile and adoring eyes. Splinter gave a soft one of his own as he watched them both.
