The Christmas invasion part 2
After the Doctor had passed out, Mickey and Rose lifted him up and carried him back into the flat and put him back to bed whilst Jackie and Alyssa went back into the front room. Jackie switched the tv on as Alyssa sat on the sofa just as Mickey walked in and told jackie he was going to his flat to bring his laptop round.
"What for?" jackie asked.
"To see if I can find any infomation about this Pilot fish thing that the Doctor was talking about" Mickey replied before he left.
"Do you think he's going to be ok, the Doctor?" Alyssa asked as Jackie sat down in one of the arm chairs.
"I don't know" Jackie replied.
"He seemed to be in pain" the little girl replied, clearly upset as Mickey came back in and placed it on the table.
"Jackie, I'm using the phone line. Is that all right? " he asked.
"Yeah. Keep a count of it" Jackie replied as Rose came out of her bedroom after sitting with the Doctor " It's midnight. Christmas day. Any change? "
"He's worse. Just one heart beating" Rose pointed out as the news came on and Jackie, Rose and Alyssa stood in front to take a look whilst Mickey went to his laptop.
"Scientists in charge of Britain's mission to Mars have re-established contact with the Guinevere One space probe. They're expecting the first transmission from the planet's surface in the next few minutes" the reporter announced before another man in a research lab came on the tv.
"Yes, we are. We're, we're back on schedule. We've received the signal from Guinevere One. The Mars landing would seem to be an unqualified success" the man in the research lab announced.
"But is it true that you completely lost contact earlier tonight?" the news reporter asked.
"Yes, we had a bit of a scare. Guinevere seemed to fall off the scope, but it, it was just a blip. Only disappeared for a few seconds, She is fine now, absolutely fine. We're getting the first pictures transmitted live any minute now. I'd better get back to it, thanks" the man said.
"Here we go, pilot fish. Scavengers, like the Doctor said. Harmless. They're tiny. But the point is, the little fish swim alongside the big fish" Mickey announced as Rose and Alyssa walked over to take a look whilst Jackie stayed watching the tv.
"Do you mean like sharks?" Rose asked.
"Great big sharks. So, what the Doctor means is, we had them, now we get that" Mickey pointed out.
"Something is coming" Alyssa said, remembering what the Doctor had warned them before he passed out "How close?."
" There's no way of telling, but the pilot fish don't swim far from their daddy" Mickey explained.
"So, it's close?" Rose asked just as Jackie announced that there was some sort of weird rocks on the tv and Rose looked over to the tv to see an Alien with red eyes and a skull like face on the tv.
"That's not rocks" Rose pointed out nervously as the news continued.
"This image is being transmitted via mission control, coming live from the depths of space on Christmas morning" the reporter announced.
"That's a real life Alien" Alyssa whispered.
" The face of an alien life form was transmitted live tonight on BBC1" the news reporter announced on the tv.
"On the 25th of December, the human race has been shown absolute proof that alien life exists" an American news reporter announced.
"These remarkable images have been relayed right across the world" another news reporter announced.
"Do you think they're coming here?" Alyssa asked " is this what the Doctor meant by something is coming, could it be them?"
"I don't know" Rose replied.
" Rose. Take a look. I've got access to the military" Mickey said as Rose walked over to the laptop to have a look, followed by Alyssa "They're tracking a spaceship. It's big, it's fast, and it's coming this way."
"Coming for what, though? The Doctor?" Rose asked.
"I don't know. Maybe it's coming for all of us" Mickey replied as he showed them an even bigger picture of the Aliens that were shown on the tv "Have you seen them before?"
"No" Rose replied as one of the Aliens began to speak and neither Rose or Alyssa could understand what they were saying " I don't understand what they're saying. The Tardis translates alien languages inside my head, all the time, wherever I am."
"I can't understand them either" Alyssa replied " I could understand what Aliens where saying before, but now I can't."
"So, why isn't it doing it now?" Mickey asked.
"I don't know. Must be the Doctor. Like he's part of the circuit, and he's, he's broken" Rose said before going to her room to look in on the Doctor and was joined by Alyssa. She saw him laying unconcious in Rose's bed.
"You should get some sleep" Rose told her "you must be exhausted."
"Come to think of it, I am pretty tired" Alyssa replied before taking a look at the Doctor again "he's really bad isn't he?"
"I'm afraid so" Rose told her gently, putting am arm around her shoulder "you should go lie down for a while." Alyssa nodded and walked into the front room, curled up on the sofa and fell asleep. She was woken up a few hours later by Rose talking to someone outside and she got up from the sofa, walked to the front door to see Rose speaking to a woman who's husband seemed to be walking off as if he was in a trance.
" He won't listen. He's just walking. He won't stop walking! There's this sort of light thing. Jason? Stop it right now! Please, Jason, just stop" the woman said as he went after her Husband and Alyssa looked over the side to see more people walking as if they were in a trance.
"What's going on?" she asked.
"I don't know, it looks like them Aliens are controlling people" Rose pointed out.
"Then how come we havn't been affected?" Alyssa asked.
"I don't know, it only must affect certain people" Rose replied before the two girls went back into the flat and Alyssa switched the tv on to see Harriet Jones sitting in Buckingham palace with an announcement to make.
"Ladies and gentlemen, if I may take a moment during this terrible time. It's hardly the Queen's speech. I'm afraid that's been cancelled" she said before speaking to someone in an ear piece "Did we ask about the royal family? Oh. They're on the roof. But, ladies and gentlemen, this crisis is unique, and I'm afraid to say, it might get much worse. I would ask you all to remain calm. But I have one request. Doctor, if you're out there, we need you. I don't know what to do. If you can hear me, Doctor. If anyone knows the Doctor, if anyone can find him, the situation has never been more desperate. Help us. Please, Doctor. Help us. God help us." As Alyssa continued to watch the tv, she could hear Rose sobbing and saying that the Doctor was gone and that he left them. The little girl could feel her eyes filling with tears but she quicky brushed them away right before all the windows in the flat shattered and Alyssa jumped to her feet having escaped serious injury from the shattering glass.
"What's going on?" the youngster asked.
"I'm not sure, let's take a look outside" Mickey suggested and the four of them went outside along with many of the other people who had been unaffected by the Aliens mind control to see a huge Rock like space ship flying over them.
"Oh my god" Alyssa pointed out, eyes widening.
"Come on, we need to get out or here right now" Rose pointed out before running back to the flat with Mickey, Jackie and Alyssa not far behind. When they got back to the flat, they all went into Rose's room and she pulled the sheets of the still comatose Doctor.
"Mickey, we're going to carry him" Rose told Mickey before turning to Jackie and Alyssa "Mum, get your stuff, and get some food, Alyssa give her a hand. We're going. "
"Where to?" Alyssa asked.
"The Tardis. It's the only safe place on Earth" Rose replied.
"What're we going to do in there? " Mickey asked.
" Hide" Rose replied as though it was the most obvious thing in the whole situation.
"Is that it?" Jackie asked.
"Mum, look in the sky. There's a great, big, alien invasion and I don't know what to do, all right? I've travelled with him, and I've seen all that stuff, but when I'm stuck at home, I'm useless. Now, all we can do is run and hide, and I'm sorry. Now, move" Rose pointed out. Jackie and Alyssa then went into the kitchen to gather up some food whilst Rose and Mickey both lifted the Doctor out of bed and carried him out the door.
"Okay, I think we have everything" Jackie pointed out "let's go." She and Alyssa then followed Rose and Mickey out the back door with Jackie carrying half a dozen carrier bags.
"Mum, will you just leave that stuff and give us a hand?" Rose asked when she saw all the bags her mum was carrying.
"It's food! You said we need food" Jackie pointed out.
"Just leave it!" Rose told her sternly. The four of them walked into the courtyard and into the Tardis where Rose and Mickey placed the Doctor on the floor.
"No chance you could fly this thing?" Mickey asked.
"Not anymore, no" Rose replied.
"Well, you did it before" Mikcey stated as Alyssa sat on the pilot chair, bringing her knees up to her chin.
"I know, but it's sort of been wiped out of my head, like it's forbidden. Try that again and I think the Universe rips in half" Rose inquired.
"Ah, better not, then" said Mickey.
"Maybe not" Rose agreed.
"So, what do we do? Just sit here? " Mikcey asked.
"Looks like it, there's nothing we can do now" Alyssa pointed out as Jackie came in with a flask.
"Right, here we go. Nice cup of tea" she said as she poured herself a cup.
" Mmm, the solution to everything" Rose said sarcasticly and Jackie gave her an annoyed look.
" Now, stop your moaning. I'll get the rest of the food" Jackie said before leaving to get some more supplies.
"Tea. Like we're having a picnic while the world comes to an end. Very British" Mickey said in a joking manner before investigating the little tv screen on the console " How does this thing work? If it picks up TV, maybe we could see what's going on out there. Maybe we've surrendered. What do you do to it?"
" I don't know. It sort of tunes itself" Rose pointed out as Alyssa jumped down from the pilots chair and kneeled down next to the Doctor and the group where unaware that the Tardis was now being beamed up to the Spaceship. Just then, there came an odd pattern on the scanner and Mickey was investigating it.
"Maybe it's a distress signal" he pointed out.
"A fat lot of good that's going to do" Rose said, leaning against the console with a sullen expression.
"Are you going to be a misery all the time?" Mickey asked, getting a little annoyed.
"Yes" Rose replied matter o factly. Mickey rolled his eyes at her as Alyssa came walking towards them, tucking a loose strand of hair that had fallen from her ponytail behind her ear.
"You should look at it from my point of view, stuck in here with your mum's cooking" Mickey stated.
"Where is she?" Rose wondered, realizing that Jackie was taking her time " I'd better give her a hand. It might start raining missiles out there."
"Tell her anything from a tin, that's fine" Mickey said.
"Why don't you tell her yourself?" Rose asked.
"I'm not that brave" Mikcey pointed out.
"Oh, I don't know" Rose said as she stepped out of the Tardis and it didn't take long for Mickey and Alyssa to hear her scream so the two of them ran out of the Tardis to find themselves on the Spaceship, surrounded by the Aliens they had seen on the tv and one of them had hold of Rose.
"Get off! Get off me! " she yelled before breaking free and then telling Mickey to close the door. She then stumbled into Harriet Jones who held her in a hug.
"Rose. Rose! I've got you. My Lord. Oh, my precious thing. The Doctor, is he with you?" Harriet asked.
"No. We're on our own" Rose said. Harriet then let go of Rose and walked over to Alyssa who was standing with a nervous expression.
"Alyssa, it's okay" she reassured her, pulling her into a hug as the leader of the species who had now revealed themselves as Sycorax began speaking and one of Harriets Aids was translating what it was saying into english.
"The small girl, She has the clever blue box. Therefore, she speaks for your planet" he said.
"What me?" Alyssa asked, now more terrified than ever.
"yes you, step up right now and speak for your planet or your friends will suffer" the Aid translated.
"But she can't" Harriet protested "she's just a little girl."
"I've got to, what choice do I have" Alyssa said "if I don't, then they might hurt you guys and I don't want that."
"Don't do it Ali" Rose whispered to her.
" Someone's got to be the Doctor" Alyssa pointed out before she nervously made her way further into the ship, trying to act brave but was clearly nervous "I, er, I address the Sycorax according to Article Fifteen of the Shadow Proclamation. I command you to leave this world with all the authority of the Slitheen Parliament of Raxacoricofallapatorius, and er, the Gelth Confederacy as er, sanctioned by the Mighty Jagrafess and, oh, the Daleks! Now, leave this planet in peace! In peace. " There was a silence before the Sycorax burst into laughter and Alyssa was looking at them with a confused expression as the leader began speaking again with the Aid translating.
"You are very, very funny. And now you're going to die" he said as the leader made his way towards the small girl.
"Leave her alone!" Harriet yelled.
"Don't touch her" Mickey yelled.
"Get away from her" Rose yelled but the three of them where held back by more Sycorax as the leader began circling Alyssa, speaking further as the Aid translated.
"Did you think you were clever with your stolen words? We are the Sycorax, we stride the darkness. Next to us you are but a wailing child. If you are the best your planet can offer as a champion" the Aid said but he no longer needed to translate what the leader was saying as he was now speaking in English.
" Then your world will be gutted" he hissed "And your people enslaved."
"Hold on, that's English" the Aid pointed out.
"You're speaking English, I can understand you" Alyssa said.
"I would never dirty my tongue with your primitive bile" the leader stated.
" That's English. Can you hear English?" Rose asked Mickey who nodded in agreement.
"I speak only Sycoraxic!" the leader hissed as Mickey pulled Alyssa away from him to safety.
"If I can hear English, then it's being translated. Which means it's working. Which means " rose inquired as everyone looked over at the Tardis and the Doors opened to reveal the Doctor, standing there and grinning away.
"Did you miss me? " he asked and the leader cracked a whip at him but the Doctor caught it before it could strike him and ripped it from the leader's hands "You could have someone's eye out with that." He then strolled into the Sycorax spaceship like he owned the place, grinning away still and Alyssa giggled silently at him.
"How dare" another Sycorax hissed as it wnet to strike the Doctor but he also grabbed the weapon from it and threw it to the ground.
"You just can't get the staff. Now, you, just wait. I'm busy" the Doctor said before Going over to his companions "Mickey, hello! And Harriet Jones MP for Flydale North. Blimey, it's like This Is Your Life. Tea! That's all I needed, a good cup of tea! Superheated infusion of free radicals and tannin. Just the thing for healing the synapses. Now, first thing's first. Be honest, how do I look? "
"Different" Alyssa replied.
"Good different or bad different? " the Doctor asked.
"Just different" Rose replied as Alyssa nodded in agreement.
"Am I ginger?" the Doctor asked.
"No, you're just sort of brown" Rose told him and the Doctor made a noise of disappointement as he began pacing up and down.
"I wanted to be ginger. I've never been ginger. And you, Rose Tyler, fat lot of good you were. You gave up on me. Oh, that's rude. That's the sort of man I am now, am I? Rude. Rude and not ginger" the Doctor said as he contiuned to pace up and down.
" I'm sorry. Who is this?" Harriet asked Rose, gesturing to the new Doctor.
"I'm the Doctor" he replied.
"He's the Doctor" Rose pointed out and Alyssa nodded in agreement.
" But what happened to my Doctor? Or is it a title that's just passed on?" Harriet asked as the Doctor approached her.
" I'm him. I'm literally him. Same man, new face. Well, new everything" he explained.
"But you can't be" Harriet replied, looking at him with general confusion but the Doctor walked up to her, looking her straight in the eye.
"Harriet Jones, we were trapped in Downing Street and the one thing that scared you wasn't the aliens, it wasn't the war, it was the thought of your mother being on her own" he explained making Harriet gasp in shock when she realized it was actually him.
"Oh my god" she said.
"Did you win the election? " he asked.
"Landslide majority" Harriet replied.
" If I might interrupt" the Sycorax leader hissed and the Doctor turned around to face him.
"Yes, sorry. Hello, big fellow" the Doctor greeted walking towards the leader with a huge grin.
"Who exactly are you? "the leader demanded.
" Well, that's the question" the Doctor replied as he grinned continuously.
"I demand to know who you are" the leader growled.
"I don't know" the Doctor replied, imitating the Sycorax's voice before going back to his normal voice "See, there's the thing. I'm the Doctor, but beyond that, I just don't know. I literally do not know who I am. It's all untested. Am I funny? Am I sarcastic? Sexy? Right old misery? Life and soul? Right handed? Left handed? A gambler? A fighter? A coward? A traitor? A liar? A nervous wreck? I mean, judging by the evidence, I've certainly got a gob. And how am I going to react when I see this" he then made his way to the front of the ship, towards a big red button "a great big threatening button. A great big threatening button which must not be pressed under any circumstances, am I right? Let me guess. It's some sort of control matrix, hmm? Hold on, what's feeding it? " he opened a base under the button and put something on his finger, something red "And what've we got here? Blood? " he paused to taste it "Yeah, definitely blood. Human blood. A Positive, with just a dash of iron. Ah, but that means blood control. Blood control! Oh, I haven't seen blood control for years. You're controlling all the A Positives. Which leaves us with a great big stinking problem. Because I really don't know who I am. I don't know when to stop. So if I see a great big threatening button which should never, ever, ever be pressed, then I just want to do this. " He hit the button with his companions yelling at him not to.
"You killed them!" Harriet's aid pointed out.
"What do you think, big fellow? Are they dead? " the Doctor asked the Sycorax leader.
"We allow them to live" the leader replied.
"Allow? You've no choice. I mean, that's all blood control is. A cheap bit of voodoo. Scares the pants off you, but that's as far as it goes. It's like hypnosis. You can hypnotise someone to walk like a chicken or sing like Elvis. You can't hypnotise them to death. Survival instinct's too strong" the Doctor explained.
" Blood control was just one form of conquest. I can summon the armada and take this world by force" the leader declared.
"Well, yeah, you could, yeah, you could do that, of course you could. But why? Look at these people. These human beings. Consider their potential. From the day they arrive on the planet and blinking step into the sun, there is more to see than can ever be seen. More to do than. No, hold on. Sorry, that's The Lion King. But the point still stands. Leave them alone! " the doctor said, trying to reason with the Sycorax leader.
" Or what? " the leader asked.
"Or" the Doctor said, grabbing a sword " I challenge you" the rest of the Sycorax laugh "Oh, that struck a chord. Am I right that the sanctified rules of combat still apply?"
" You stand as this world's champion" the leader said.
" Thank you. I've no idea who I am, but you just summed me up" the Doctor said as he took off his dressing gown and threw it at Rose.
"He isn't going to fight that thing is he?" Alyssa whispered.
"I think he is" Rose whispered back.
"So, you accept my challenge? Or are you just a cranak pel casacree salvak? " the Doctor asked, raising his eyebrows and his remark had made the leader make up his mind and challenge the Doctor to a sword fight.
" For the planet? " the leader asked.
" For the planet" the Doctor declared before the pair of them engaged in a sword fight.
"Look out Doctor" Alyssa yelled as the Leader went for the top of his head which he managed to duck and watching the sword fight, the humans could see that the Sycorax leader was a more experienced fighter and the doctor was retreating up a tunnel.
" Bit of fresh air?" the Doctor asked, pressing a button which opened a door, leading to the outside of the ship with the Doctor and Sycorax leader heading outside, still engaged in a swordfight, Rose, Alyssa, Harriet and Mickey followed and watched as the leader had driven the Doctor back to the edge and hit him on the nose.
"Stay back" the Doctor warned as the others moved to help him "Invalidate the challenge and he wins the planet." Suddenly without warning, the leader brought his sword down, chopping the Doctor's hand off, causing it to fall down to the Earth, along with his own sword.
"Ouch, oooooh" Alyssa stated when she saw his hand being chopped off.
"You cut my hand off" the Doctor pointed out, surprisingly calm.
"Ya! Sycorax! " the Leader cheered as the Doctor slowly pulled himself to his feet.
"And now I know what sort of man I am. I'm lucky. Because quite by chance I'm still within the first fifteen hours of my regeneration cycle, which means I've got just enough residual cellular energy to do this" he stated before he grew himself a new hand as everyone looked on in shock.
" Witchcraft" the leader said.
"Time Lord" the Doctor corrected.
" Doctor!" Rose yelled, throwing him a new sword and he caught it perfectly with his new hand.
"Oh, so I'm still the Doctor, then? " he asked.
"No arguments from me! " Rose pointed out.
"Me neither" Alyssa stated.
"Want to know the best bit? This new hand? It's a fighting hand! " the Doctor cheered before he and the Sycorax leader continued with their swordfight but this time, the Doctor had managed to disarm the leader and thumped him in the abdomen twice, causing him to fall close to the edge and the Doctor stood over him, pointing his sword.
" I win" the Doctor declared.
"Then kill me" the leader stated, knowing that he was defeated.
"I'll spare your life if you'll take this Champion's command" the Doctor said "Leave this planet, and never return. What do you say? "
"Yes" the leader said and the Doctor thrusted his sword closer to the leader's neck.
"Swear on the blood of your species" the Doctor warned.
"I swear" the leader said.
" There we are, then. Thanks for that. Cheers, big fellow" the Doctor said before moving his sword away and walking towards his companions.
"Bravo! " Harriet cheered.
"That says it all. Bravo!" Rose declared.
"Bravo Doctor" Alyssa yelled, jumping up and punching the air.
"Ah, not bad for a man in his jim-jams" the Doctor said as Rose helped him back into his dressing gown "Very Arthur Dent. Now, there was a nice man, hold on, what have I got in here? " he pulled out a satsuma "A satsuma. Ah, that friend of your mothers. He does like his snacks doesn't he? But doesn't that just sum up Christmas? You go through all those presents and right at the end, tucked away at the bottom, there's always one stupid old satsuma. Who wants a satsuma? " As the they walked back into the ship, no one noticed the Sycorax leader getting back up on his feet and wnet to run at the Doctor with his sword but he threw the satsuma over his shoulder causing it to hit the controls and a piece of wing opened up, causing the Sycorax leader to fall to his death " No second chances. I'm that sort of a man." The group walked back inside the ship where the doctor was now addressing the rest of the Sycorax race.
"By the ancient rites of combat, I forbid you to scavenge here for the rest of time. And when go you back to the stars and tell others of this planet, when you tell them of it's riches, it's people, it's potential. When you talk of the Earth, then make sure that you tell them this. It is defended" he warned them before he, Rose, Alyssa, Harriet, Mickey, Harriet's aid and the Tardis where beamed back to Earth.
"Where are we? " Rose asked.
"We're just off Bloxom Road. We're just round the corner, we did it! " Mickey cheered.
"Wait a minute, wait a minute" the doctor said as they watched the Sycorax ship fly away until it was completely out of site.
"Go on, my son! Oh, yeah!" Mickey yelled as Rose jumped on his back whilst Alyssa jumped around, cheering.
"Yeah! Don't come back!" Rose yelled.
" It is defended!" Mickey yelled.
"Go on you suckers, don't come back, woohoo" Alyssa cheered. Whilst the three of them cheered, Harriet walked up to the Doctor.
"My Doctor" she said with a grin.
"Prime Minister" the Doctor replied with a grin and the pair of them hugged.
"Absolutely the same man" Harriet said before looking up at the sky "Are there many more out there?"
"Oh, not just Sycorax. Hundreds of species. Thousands of them. And the human race is drawing attention to itself. Every day you're sending out probes and messages and signals. This planet's so noisy. You're getting noticed more and more. You'd better get used to it" the Doctor said just as Jackie arrived.
"Mum" Rose said, running towards her and it didn't take long for the Doctor to notice.
"Oh, talking of trouble" he said as he walked towards Jackie.
"Oh, my God! You did it, Rose! Oh!" Jackie said when she saw that the Doctor was now up and about.
"You did it too! It was the tea. Fixed his head" Rose pointed out.
"That was all I needed, cup of tea" the doctor replied with a grin.
" I said so" Jackie pointed out before looking at the Doctor "Is it him, though? Is it really the Doctor?" she asked before she noticed Harriet " Oh, my God, it's the bleeding Prime Minister!."
"Come here, you" the Doctor said and all five of them hugged.
"Are you better?" Jackie asked.
" I am, yeah" the Doctor replied.
"And he's amazing" Alyssa pointed out.
"You left me" Jackie said.
" I'm sorry" Rose reply before noticing green light beams, firing into space, blowing up the Sycorax ship "What is that? What's happening?"
"That was murder" the Doctor yelled, marching towards Harriet and her aid with fury in his eyes.
" That was defence. It's adapted from alien technology. A ship that fell to Earth ten years ago" Harriet explained.
"But they were leaving" the Doctor snapped.
"You said yourself, Doctor, they'd go back to the stars and tell others about the Earth. I'm sorry, Doctor, but you're not here all the time. You come and go. It happened today. Mister Llewellyn and the Major, they were murdered. They died right in front of me while you were sleeping. In which case we have to defend ourselves" Harriet pointed out.
"Britain's Golden Age" the Doctor said.
" It comes with a price" Harriet replied.
" I gave them the wrong warning. I should've told them to run as fast as they can, run and hide because the monsters are coming. The human race" the Doctor explained.
"Those are the people I represent. I did it on their behalf" Harriet pointed out.
"Then I should have stopped you" the Doctor said.
"What does that make you, Doctor? Another alien threat?" Harriet asked.
"Don't challenge me, Harriet Jones, because I'm a completely new man. I could bring down your Government with a single word" a now furious Doctor warned.
"You're the most remarkable man I've ever met, but I don't think you're quite capable of that" Harriet pointed out.
"No, you're right. Not a single word, just six" the Doctor said.
"I don't think so" Harriet said.
"Six words" the Doctor warned.
"Stop it" Harriet said.
"Six" the Doctor said again before going over to her aid and whispering in his ear " Don't you think she looks tired?" He then turned around, walked back towards the other four and walked away with them as Harriet called after him, demanding to know what the Doctor had said to her aid. Later that evening, Jackie, Rose, Alyssa and Mickey where in the flat, having Christmas dinner whilst the Doctor was in the Tardis, choosing a new outfit. He came back a half way through the dinner, dressed in a brown pinstriped suit, a long brown coat and sneakers.
"Care to join us?" Alyssa asked, pulling up a chair.
"Of course" the Doctor said as he sat himself down and everyone was now pulling crackers and generally having a good time until Rose pointed out that Harriet was on the tv. Everyone turned around and indeed, Harriet Jones was on BBC news.
" Prime Minister, is it true you are no longer fit to be in position? " a Man off camera asked.
"No. Now, can we talk about other things? " Harriet asked.
"Is it true you're unfit for office?" the off camera man asked.
" Look, there is nothing wrong with my health. I don't know where these stories are coming from. And a vote of no confidence is completely unjustified" Harriet pointed out.
"Are you going to resign? " the off camera man asked as the phone rang and Jackie went to answer it.
" On today of all days, I'm fine. Look at me, I'm fine. I look fine, I feel fine" Harriet insisted.
"It's Beth. She says go and look outside" Jackie said as she walked out of the kitchen.
"Why?" Rose asked.
"I don't know, just go outside and look. Come on, shift" she told them and everyone got up, grabbed their coats and ran outside to see that it seemed to be snowing .
"Oh, it's beautiful" Rose said before she looked up and saw streaks of light flying across the sky "What are they, meteors?"
" It's the spaceship breaking up in the atmosphere. This isn't snow, it's ash" the doctor explained.
"Not so beautiful then" Alyssa pointed out.
"This is a brand new planet Earth. No denying the existence of aliens now. Everyone saw it. Everything's new" the Doctor explained.
"And what about you? What are you going to do next? " Rose asked.
"Well, back to the Tardis. Same old life" the Doctor replied.
"On your own?" Rose asked.
"Why, do you and Alyssa still want to come?" the Doctor asked and the two girls nodded "are you both sure, it's just that I thought you both didn't want to come anymore because I changed."
"Yeah, I thought, because you changed you might not want us anymore" Rose pointed out.
"Oh I would love you both to come" he said.
"You're never going to stay, are you?" Mickey asked.
"There's just so much out there. So much to see. I've got to" Rose said.
"Well, I reckon you're mad, the three of you" Jackie pointed out "It's like you go looking for trouble."
" Trouble's just the bits in-between" the Doctor said as he ran over to Jackie, putting his arm around her " It's all waiting out there, Jackie, and it's brand new to me. All those planets, and creatures and horizons. I haven't seem them yet! Not with these eyes. And it is going to be fantastic." He then lifted Alyssa onto his back and held his new hand out, gesturing for Rose to take it.
"That hand of yours still gives me the creeps" she pointed out but she took it anyway.
"So where are we going to go first?" Alyssa asked.
"Er, that way. No, hold on. That way" the Doctor said as he pointed up to the sky.
"That way? " Rose asked and the Doctor nodded with a grin.
'Well, that way sounds fine to me" Alyssa agreed as the three of them looked up at the sky, looking forward to their next set of adventures.
