For Dipper it felt like the night was calling him. Its voice moved into his ear quietly, seductively but subtley urging him to leave his room and explore what was in the woods. He was a man (well not exactly but you get the point) of mystery, and there was plenty of it there. He was far from someone who had nerves of steel but he resisted. As the words and urges to get outside surrounded him the young boy swatted them away like they were mosquitoes. But they would not give up. In a swarm they ran towards Dipper, backing into a corner. As they leaned into the boy he heard one word that made it feel like time itself had stopped.

"Wendy."

As soon as that word was uttered Dipper felt like his entire body had shut down, sweat pouring like a river. Jolting up he found himself in his room, Mabel playing with Waddles across from him. Breathing heavily Dipper sat there, trying to gather back a sense of comfort as he sat there panting. Taking in a deep breath he felt air rush over him, calming him like a mother. Thoughts ran through Dipper's head miles a second and he knew he had to get them out before he felt suffocated. Sighing he turned to Mabel, her attention gleefully focused on Waddles, and began to speak.

"So Mabel... you know today's the full moon right?"

Putting down her prized pig Mabel looked at Dipper, a confused expression on her face.

"Yeah, why?"

Without warning Dipper fell on his bed, a blank yet worried look on his face.

"Well... the past couple of full moons, Wendy just left. No warning, no acknowledgement, she just runs out and comes back stressed. I think there's something weird going on and I..."

Before Dipper could finish he felt a finger pressed against his mouth and turned to see his twin sister tsk'ing at him.

"Bro, are you seriously still into Wendy?" asked Mabel.

To say that Dipper's cheeks went red would be an understatement, they looked like they were so hot that they could melt off his face. Dipper did not deny that he still had some feelings for Wendy after what they had gone through, but it had evolved into a more platonic feeling. But this did not stop Dipper from seeming as awkward as possible.

"Wha-what? No, no no no. This is... a mystery, yeah! There's something going on with Wendy during the full moon and I need to find out, that's all it is" Dipper said, a painfully awkward attempt at hiding things through a smile appearing on his face.

"Ooh maybe she's a werewolf. Normal mystery shack girl by day, but at night... a vicious monster!" Mabel replied with enthusiasm.

Dipper only rolled his eyes in response.

"Look, that's probably not it. If there was a werewolf in Gravity Falls we probably would have seen it by now. Its probably something unexpected, and that's why I need to find out what's going on with her.

Mabel raised an eyebrow and took him by the shoulder.

"Ok, what you need to do is talk to her. Tell her she's great, get her happy, then BOOM! You tell her your mystery stuff, ask her what's going on, the business. Great, huh?" said Mabel, a big grin on her face.

Dipper nervously stood back but at the same time admired his twin's confidence.

"Yeah I'll... I'll do that" replied Dipper.

With that Dipper took to sprinting, determined to talk to Wendy and get to the bottom of things, adrenaline rushing through. On the other side of the room Mabel was content with simply rubbing Waddles on her face.

Leaving his sister behind Dipper made to the stairs, determined to get to Wendy and ask her what was going on. It would be a simple question, nothing intense or aggressive. Taking deep breaths Dipper tried to make himself calm, knowing that this was for the mystery. Running down to the stairs Dipper made it to the shack, and saw a familiar redhead sitting at the counter, but Dipper noted there was something off with Wendy. While she usually sat there casually tonight her fingers were tapping the desk wildly, a look of fear on her face, one that increased when she sensed the boy across the room.

"Oh god not now" Wendy said to herself.

Oblivious to the teenager's inner struggle Dipper walked over to Wendy, an awkward smile on his face.

"Hey Wendy so uh... there's something I need to ask you and..."

Before Dipper could finish a voice he knew all too well cut in.

"Look Dipper I'm sure you don't mean anything but now's not the best time, I just... I need to go" said Wendy.

"Yeah but its about the full moon and..."

"DID YOU NOT FUCKING HEAR ME?" Wendy yelled in response.

Breathing heavily Wendy's face was full of fury, anger building in and clawing at her mind. However as soon as she saw Dipper standing there, eyes wide, she knew she had gone too far. A terrified expression showing Wendy began to back away, horrified at what she had.

"Oh god I'm so sorry I didn't... I need to go" said Wendy, desperation in her voice

"Wait Wendy I..." piped in Dipper.

"Please just..." Wendy began

Wendy sighed, and her expression turned to one of defeat.

"...There's something inside me, and I need to let it out. Just... just let me do this. I'll explain tomorrow" said Wendy.

Dipper could barely get anything in before Wendy interrupted him almost a second later

With that Wendy ran off, a determined expression on her face. Seeing the redhead scream and then flee left Dipper with a wide mix of emotions.

"Ok , this might be worse than you thought. But you can still find out what's going on just... follow her. Yeah that seems like a good idea" Dipper said to himself before slapping himself in the face.

"Wait no it isn't, its... argh I gotta, for the mystery" said Dipper, his face taking on a serious expression.

As much as he wanted to leave it there he knew he had to find out what was happening, he simply wouldn't be able to get out of his mind if he didn't do this now. Pushing down all feelings of resistance Dipper took in a deep breath and took on the first few steps out the door and into the woods, determined to find out the moody teen's secret.

As Dipper pondered this Wendy ran as fast as she could, going at almost lightning speed. A million thoughts a second ran through her mind, all telling her she had fucked up. Dipper's terrified face was engraved into her head, and the guilt began to gnaw away at her. Sweat pouring like a river she ran into the one spot she needed during a time like this: the forest. With nothing but determination to be as far away from the shack as possible the redhead ran as fast as possible, going from tree to tree until she didn't even know were she was anymore. Gasping for breath Wendy knew what was happening and wanted to prepare. Looking up she saw the sign of what was to come: the full moon. Gazing with wide eyes she let out her arms and eventually closed her eyes, waiting for the change to begin.

Unbeknownst to her the bushes behind her began to ruffle, and out pulled a familiar boy with brown hair. Having ran to catch up with the speedy teen Dipper began panting, although not loud enough to give away his location. Looking around he immediately saw Wendy, standing like she was in a trance. As Dipper went closer he could immediately tell something was off. A wave of intensity and nervousness hit him, sweat threatening to pour, and this only worsened when he saw what Wendy was going through. It almost seemed like there was a light coming from the moon that shone on Wendy, and almost immediately it took effect. As soon as this happened Dipper saw one thing that immediately made him reconsider how far he would go: Wendy taking off her clothes. Indeed Wendy was taking them off one at a time, starting with her shirt. Wanting to be the better man Dipper shut his eyes and did so until he heard a shout. Looking at Wendy she was topless but he did his best to look at her head, and only her head. However this proved to be difficult once Wendy got down on all fours, clutching her stomach in pain. Focused in Dipper saw Wendy's lower jaw began to elongate, and what seemed like new teeth forming, but he did not expect what happened next: Wendy's entire body began to restructure, and he could hear bones cracking. As her legs and arms elongated what took him completely by surprise was something that was happening at the very back: out of nowhere a small appendage began to grow from the back, and as it grew it took a more line-like shape, growing in length, size, and fluff, until suddenly a tail burst out.

"What the..." Dipper said to himself.

Suddenly the changes became even more apparent. Even though Wendy had longer appendages and a reforming jaw she appeared fairly human, until with a loud scream something changed. Teeth and claws began to form, each poking out and eliciting a shrill scream from Wendy. However something even more strange began to happen. Her smooth white skin looked like it was being taken over by something, as red fur spread across her body, starting on her back. As Dipper began to back away the sight of hair covering Wendy's ears, eventually reforming to have two red wolf ears on the top of her head, confirmed what Dipper was thinking: Wendy was turning into a werewolf.

As her body structure became more canine Wendy's screams seemed to die down, although a look of discomfort shone through as her face restructured to giver her a snout. Looking at her now paw of a hand Wendy tried to scream, but instead it came out as a howl. Eventually Wendy stopped and became silent, head bowing down, but it was clear changes were still occurring. As Dipper stood in horror from a distance he saw Wendy rise up, and he was terrified of what he saw. Signs of Wendy's humanity were almost nonexistent, with the eyes, body, and teeth of a predator. Although she could stand upright she had a beastly quality to her, her eyes and fangs showing a beast that could rip something apart in seconds. While she was very clearly nonhuman, she could still stand upright, although the fur, paws, and tail made it clear she was more animal than man. As the transformation had reached its endpoint Dipper felt hopeless, as he saw nothing of the girl he had pined for. Suddenly, moving her arms to the side, the she-wolf let out a victorious howl, showing her nature under the full moon. With that, Dipper knew his only option was to run.

"Oh god, Wendy's a werewolf. Ok, you've read about werewolves, how do I get out, think!" Dipper thought to himself.

Thinking things through the boy came to a conclusion: hide behind the tree until the newly turned werewolf went away and then run back to the shack. Since werewolves were known to be vicious beasts confronting one head on would practically be a death sentence, even if it was someone close to him. Knowing the woods Dipper eyed the luscious green area in front of him, looking for a path he could use to get back to the shack, and sighed in relief once he found one. However, there was still the problem of the werewolf behind him, and her heavy breathing and growling showed she was still very much an active threat. Breathing heavily Dipper gripped the tree like his entire life depended on it. Hearing a squeak Dipper turned around, and saw an adorable chipmunk. He felt like he could hug it, its eyes staring into him.

And then Wendy pounced.

Like a vicious predator the she-wolf's jaws bit directly into the chipmunk's neck, blood spraying like a fountain. As Dipper stared in horror the beast dug in, eating the chipmunk like it was a four course meal. Leaving no corner uneaten the she-wolf feasted, savoring each bite of the chipmunk. As Dipper looked at the carnage in front of him he felt utterly hopeless. This was not the girl he knew, this was a vicious beast with murder on its mind.

"I'm doomed" he thought sadly to himself.

However these thoughts quickly turned to determination. He needed a way to get back to the shaft so he wouldn't be stuck in the woods with a murderous werewolf all night. Turning quickly he failed to notice the leaf in his path. A crunch was heard, but nothing massive, that is if you don't have a human/animal hybrid with enhanced hearing behind you. Unfortunately Dipper was not so lucky. Hearing an odd noise the she-wolf's ear perked up, determined to track what could possibly be a future meal. The newly turned she-wolf raised then its head up, detecting an unfamiliar scent. The one she was detecting wasn't an animal, it was a man, albeit a pup at most. As the she-wolf's protective nature began to settle in it put its nose to the ground, sniffing the area, determined to find the pup. Slowly picking up the scent the she-wolf began to move closer and growl, frightening Dipper. Thoughts ran through his head a mile a second, going by too fast for him to even think of any rational solution. Then it felt like time itself had stopped as an idea came clearly into his head:

Run like hell.

As dangerous as it might be Dipper knew he needed to get away, so he settled with it. Taking in deep breaths he began to sprint, already feeling that the wolf was nearing him, which made him run faster. As the wolf began to give chase Dipper ran faster than he had ever ran before, never looking back. Footsteps beating as fast his heart Dipper could feel his entire body tense, with survival being the only goal. Determined to get to a safe haven he ran without even keeping track, trees zooming by as he went with the full moon both illuminating his journey and serving as a reminder of why this was even happening. As he ran deeper he could feel himself getting closer to the shack, but he could not keep up for long. Feeling a sense of urgency he breathed rapidly, stopping to catch his breath. Just as he was about to keep going something happened that made him stand still: a snort and the feel of hot breath on his back. Turning around his eyes widened in horror as standing in front of him was another beast. Unlike Wendy this was much bigger and wider, with brown fur covering the entire body and an anatomical structure that looked more man than canine. The face consisted of brown floppy ears, an extended snout, eyes full of malice, and a muzzle stretched in a permanent growl with powerful fangs showing. As Dipper saw the beast glaring at him he stood there, unsure what to do. Soon a thought came into his head and he decided to try contact.

"Uh... hi. I need to be somewhere so if I could just go..."

The beast paid no response, just standing there and staring him down. Seeing no other option Dipper began to walk back, wanting to get out of the situation. What started as a walk started as a sprint, and he ran just as fast as he had before. Knowing the mystery shack was in reach if he ran fast enough Dipper sped through, focusing only on the path. However through this he failed to notice the brown beast running behind him until he heard a growl. Turning around he saw the beast, and let out a scream. Not looking a rock laid in front of him appeared and his foot took a crash. Falling down Dipper's face was one of horror and panic as he faced an impact.

"No no no!"

The boy's cries amounted to nothing as he soon fell face down, pain rushing through. Turning over with tears streaming down Dipper reflected, and horror came into his mind. He was cornered by an unknown beast, surely this made him a goner. As he laid there so many thoughts and regrets came to his mind. He'd never solve any more mysteries, his family and friends would go on a search only to find his corpse, and Wendy would feel an everlasting sense of guilt if she knew she had a hand in his demise. Blood dripping from his nose Dipper felt defeat, knowing this was it. He could feel himself fading, and he cursed himself for even going outside. As he sat there in pain he saw the beast, its eyes showing no mercy.

"Great, this is how I die" Dipper thought to himself.

As the beast circled him Dipper closed his eyes, accepting his fate. Just as he closed he felt a searing pain through his arm, and he let out a bloodcurdling scream. Opening his eyes he saw a bloody bite mark on his arm and it didn't take a genius to figure out what was going on. Fearing the worst he prepared to be eaten but something unexpected happened: the beast merely let out a howl and ran away. No finishing him off, just one bite and leaving the boy on the ground. This didn't necessarily change his state as he still sat there unable to move and could feel himself blacking out. As he felt his consciousness fading he simply sighed, knowing this was the end. With one last breath before he would go under he hoped there was promise in the afterlife. And with that, everything went black.

Meanwhile the beast's howl reached the ears of the she-wolf, and recognized a pained aura as that of the pup. Determination coming to treat it like it was her own the she-wolf ran on all fours, fury filling her knowing the beast had crossed into her territory. Feeling the moon guide her she let out a howl, letting any other creatures know that she was coming and to leave if they knew what was good for them. Running gracefully she finally made it to the woods, and sniffed around to see if there were any other predators, growling to make sure they got the message. As soon as she saw it was all clear her directive became clear as she saw the injured pup lying, blacked out and bloody. Sympathy rushed over her, some semblance of memory coming to her seeing the pup in its damaged state. As something akin to a whine left its mouth the she-wolf picked up the pup with her mouth, her jaw strength able to carry the pup like it was nothing. As it walked away it felt sympathy for the pup, noticing the mark on its arm. Knowing what that meant the she-wolf felt sorry for the pup, the human inside her almost coming in. Despite that the animal remained intact, although its goal was to bring the pup to its natural space. Reaching the woods the she-wolf felt a sense of pride, having safely moved the pup. Noticing its state the she-wolf grabbed the chipmunk remains and put them into the pup's mouth, wanting to make sure it was fed. As soon as she saw the pup swallow she relaxed, knowing her work was done. Since it had no need for sleep at the moment the she-wolf set into a defensive motion, standing in a threatening stance, growling to signal its intentions of making sure nothing hurt the pup. This continued for a few more hours until eventually the she-wolf recognized the pup as safeguarded and closed its eyes. The wolf had done well.

The next morning Wendy woke up as she did the past few mornings, naked and dazed. A quick dip in the lake to clean off and grabbing the pair of clothes in her past Wendy felt used to her routine, but one look changed her entire perspective. Looking next to her she quickly became horrified as she saw what was next to her: a young boy with a strong scent of lycanthropy.

"Oh god... I got to him. Stupid curse I... agh! Fuck fuck FUUUUUUUCK!" screamed Wendy.

As she began to sob a range of emotions hit Wendy like a truck, but guilt dominated her subconscious. Her inner mind was berating her for getting careless and having a casualty in the process. However she began to calm down and feel a sense of realization as her memory of the events and Dipper's scent: she hadn't bitten, and it wasn't a werewolf that did. Although she knew the transformation would not be ideal for him she still felt a sense of relief that he wouldn't turn into a complete monster like she had. Sighing her focus turned to getting him back to the shack and hopefully a hospital. Eyes filing with determination she ran to the shack, Dipper in her arms. Racing as fast as she could in her human form Wendy reached the shack and panted with her not quite returned to normal tongue out in front of Stan, Soos, and Mabel, all of them quickly focusing on the injured boy in front of them. Mabel was the first to react, running over with a look that had a mix of terror and sadness.

"DIPPER!" Mabel screamed, gripping her twin in her arms.

As Mable enwrapped herself into her brother Wendy looked at the others with complete seriousness.

"He's not in serious condition but he needs to go to the hospital, probably just for the day. Look, I did something stupid and he came after me, I'm sorry. I take full responsibility and I'll watch over him, I promise. Just, go without me" said Wendy.

As Stan and Soos looked at Wendy with surprise she walked off, wanting to collect herself after the events of the previous night. Thanks to her senses she heard Soos and Stan picking up Dipper, and she hoped to god he would be ok. To herself she made a vow to protect him, knowing what she would have to help him go through, and by god she WOULD be there to help him get through with it. With that she left, although not without knowing that everything had changed.
