A/N: Welp, by popular demand (Of two people), Accidentally in Love With a Warlock chapter four!
It had been about 11:50 when I arrived at Maggie's place. I was a bit early, but I knew she probably wouldn't mind. After reading her message, I was unable to fall asleep for more than two hours at a time. She was keeping me up, and I had to go as soon as possible.
With just a simple change from my pajamas into my best outfit - a silky black tank top courtesy of Jacie, skin-tight white jeans that Isiah made me wear, and ankle-high boots -, and I was out the door. As a Shadowhunter, I have had many awesome experiences, but this outweighed the other drastically. My feet shook as I stood on her porch, waiting while butterflies zipped around violently in my stomach. I brushed one lock of my black hair onto my shoulder, then adjusted my ponytail until it felt right. I smiled as I heard laughing from inside. Maggie must have been celebrating Leianne being gone, and invited me. That had to be it.
Just as I knocked on the door, Maggie pulled it open as she held an opened bottle of wine. "Come in! The party is rocking!" She stated, hiccuping lightly as she pushed the door back so I could walk in.
Instantly she put an arm on the small of my back, looking down at me as she inspected my outfit. I blushed, then looked at hers. Torn purple jeans, over-sized metallic legwarmers, and a corset top. Her brown tendrils of silky hair were tied into a high bun, a few curls hanging to the sides of her head. After a few moments of silent staring, Maggie pulled me over to the couch and sat me down. I smiled as she rested her thin arm behind me, and pulled me closer. We both stared at each other until she leaned in close and kissed me gently on my lips. I tensed up, and I sat with my shoulders brushing my neck very lightly. My eyes remained big, and I could feel my heart race wildly in my chest.
Maggie gave a happy little smirk and ran her long, tanned fingers against my collarbone, making me giggle a bit. We both started to cuddle close together as she rested her forehead against mine. This sudden show of affection made me feel giddy inside, and I couldn't help but get into it.
She ran her fingers through my hair and pulled me into another kiss. I smiled into it, feeling her heart race against mine. This is what she was like while drunk? Well, it would explain what happened in the club.
However, my bubble of happiness burst horribly when I heard the door slam against the wall of Maggie's loft. Leianne appeared at the stairwell, glaring and baring her teeth. Maggie immediately stood up, her fists clenching tightly at her sides. I watched the two start talking. Well, more arguing than talking.
"Why the hell are you here, Leianne?!" Maggie asked, her voice shaking.
"Maggie, I'm going mad without you. If you dump that Alexandria bitch, I won't drown myself in the East River!" Leianne threatened, accusing Maggie with her index finger. The two then went head-to-head.
"Look, if you really think your life is worthless, go ahead. I shouldn't be the cause of your suicide. After all, you are amazing." Maggie was lying so obviously that I almost had to chuckle. Leianne bit her lip angrily and turned to me.
"I'm not done with you, bitch! You had better kill yourself, too! You are a lesbian, and that's totally unnatural and gross! I know that Maggie has a bigger thing for bi girls than lesbians!" She added, hitting me hard in the gut with her insults. I backed into one of the walls, feeling tears well up in my eyes. I knew I couldn't trust her, but what if she was right? What if Maggie preferred bisexual girls to lesbians?
I looked up at the warlock who now was rushing over to me. I was weak, and it was so embarrassing I could swear my family had been secretly ashamed of me for years. Just from how often I remembered crying, being depressed, and considering suicide when I was younger. My cuts proved that I was weak, and that I really wasn't fit for someone as strong as Maggie. Just by how she carried herself you could tell that she was confident. I admired that quality about her, and I almost refused to look away as she told off Leianne once again.
"Alexandria is a much better person than you ever could be, Leianne. She's sweet, kind, and considerate, unlike you."
The werewolf girl glared, and lunged at Maggie. Just before she could ram her into the wall, I jumped, throwing myself in front of her. All of those days training in the Institute actually did pay off!
However, the result was less than what I actually wanted. Leianne started scratching me up once she was on top of me, and created a long gash in my shoulder. I glared as I felt the blood seep out. The crimson liquid began staining my black tank top, and dribbling onto the glittery marble floor beneath me. My head started pounding. I felt for any bleeding, but found none. Maggie's gentle, warm hands now rested on either of my cheeks as she looked down at me. It reminded me of the time Spiderman was hanging upside down and kissed Mary Jane. I gave a light giggle as I imagined Maggie doing that to me.
She didn't look happy, however. Her eyebrows arched, and her eyes seemed to be burning with rage.
"You! I want you out now! Go drown in the Atlantic Ocean, for all I care! Just leave, and never come back into my sight again!" Maggie warned in a very serious voice as she continued to comfort me.
My eyes glanced around her face until I noticed something. A little tear, slowly running down her cheek. Had Leianne hurting me really make her that upset? Could she even comprehend this while drunk? She was probably used to it, I assumed.
Leianne glared, and stormed out of the loft. She didn't speak another word until the door slammed shut with a violent thud. From behind the door, we could hear her screaming profanities. I let it fade into nothing as Maggie started to stare down at me again. Her slit pupils met mine, and I could tell just from her gaze that she was going to cry. I raised my arm weakly and wiped away the tear that had been streaking her cheek with my pale, shaky fingers. She gave a happy little smile as more tears replaced the one I just brushed away. Black mascara started flowing with her tears, and she opened her mouth to start speaking.
"Alexandria, I'm so sorry I had to get you involved in this. . ." She tried helping me up as I could feel my wound throb hard. I let out a little whimper as she rested one hand over the wound.
Her eyes closed while she fixed me. I could feel surges of energy rush through me as she sighed and kept working. Never once did my eyes close.
Maggie pulled her hand away a few moments later. The blood had stopped flowing, and the gash was now a pinkish-red scar. She now was helping me stand up, resting her hands on my waist as she pulled me up. "You're going to be resting on the couch. I'm going to go lock the doors and windows, and you stay put. If you see or hear Leianne, call me."
She wiped away her tears and sniffled lightly as she walked down the stairs to the front door.
I stared up at the ceiling. While this hadn't been my ideal date, it had been close enough. Maggie had proved that she cared for me, and I was happily ready to start a relationship with her. Or, at least make out with her with no regrets.
However, I could feel this pang in my stomach. Did Maggie prefer other bisexual girls to lesbians? I sighed as I watched her return up the stairs, and start locking up the few windows in her loft. She looked at me and gave a smile. I swallowed hard as I felt my palms get clammy.
"Maggie. . .?" I asked in a timid voice.
She came closer, and sat down next to me. Her eyes were filled with worry, and I couldn't help but frown a bit. I hated seeing her like this, but I could admit, she was still beautiful while looking worried.
"Yes, Alexandria?" Her voice was smooth as always. I could feel myself get a bit jealous.
I swallowed hard, staring at her tired eyes before responding. "Do you like bisexual girls more than you do lesbians?"
She furrowed her brow, and tilted her head. "Were you really listening to Leianne? Sweetie, she knows nothing about what kind of girls I like. She didn't even know that I didn't like her for most of our relationship. Though, to answer your question, I like both. Are you a lesbian, though? Is that why you're worried?"
I awkwardly shrugged as she then pulled me into a deep embrace. My arms went straight to her shoulders, and I wrapped them around loosely. I buried my face into the crook of her neck and smiled while she gave me a kiss on the top of my head. She laughed and rubbed my back gently, beginning to run her hand around my hips. I blushed as I felt her heartbeat pulsating into my chest. She gave a smile as she rested her hands on my face and adjusted my head so I was facing her. We both smiled at each other and started kissing again. My body instantly heated up as she touched and grope every part of my body through my clothes. Every kiss sent my heart aflutter, and every single whisper sent chills down my spine. Each sensation sent through my body felt better than the last. We both smiled as she started to pull off her shirt.
It was just then that we heard howling and growling.
"COME OUT AND NO ONE GETS FUCKING HURT!"
