School reunion
Alyssa sat in the classroom along with other students. A couple of days ago, she, the Doctor and Rose had gone undercover in this school as there had been some strange things going on and Rose's boyfriend Mickey thought it would be a good idea to find out what was going on so the Doctor was posing as a teacher, Rose was posing as a dinner lady abd Alyssa was posing as a student. She was about to yawn in boredom but stopped when the Doctor came walking in, sporting a pair of specs and set a briefcase down on the desk.
"Good morning, class. Are we sitting comfortably? " he asked with a grin before picking up a marker pen and began writing physics on the white board " So, physics. Physics, eh? Physics. Physics. Physics! Physics. Physics, physics, physics, physics, physics, physics, physics. I hope one of you is getting all this down. Okay let's see what you know. Two identical strips of nylon are charged with static electricity and hung from a string so they can swing freely. What would happen if they were brought near each other? " a boy with glasses who was sitting next to Alyssa shot his hand up "Yes, er, what's your name?"
"Milo" the boy replied.
"Milo! Off you go" the Doctor told him.
"They'd repel each other because they have the same charge" Milo said rather quickly and Alyssa was quite amazed at how smart this boy was.
" Correctamundo! A word I have never used before and hopefully never will again. Question two. I coil up a thin piece of microwire and place it in a glass of water. Then I turn on the electricity and measure to see if the water's temperature is affected. My question is this. How do I measure the electrical power going into the coil?" the Doctor asked and Milo shot his hnad up again whilst the rest of the studnets looked bored.
"Someone else" the Doctor said but saw that none of the other students were eager to answer his question, only Milo was "No? Okay, Milo, go for it."
"Measure the current and PDs in an ammeter and a voltmeter" Milo said in the same fast tone as Alyssa stared at him with her mouth open.
" Two to Milo. Right then, Milo, tell me this. True or false. The greater the dampening of the system, the quicker it loses energy to its surroundings" the doctor told the smart young boy.
"False" Milo replied rather quickly.
"What is non-coding DNA? " the Doctor asked as Alyssa still looked at the boy next to her open mouthed.
"DNA that doesn't code for a protein" Milo replied straight away without thinking of the answer.
"Sixty five thousand nine hundred and eighty three times five? " the Doctor asked, now begining to grow suspicious of this young boys cleverness.
"Three hundred and twenty nine thousand nine hundred and fifteen" Milo answered very quickly again.
" How do you travel faster than light?" the Doctor asked.
"By opening a quantum tunnel with an FTL factor of thirty six point seven recurring" Milo answered very quickly again and this time, the Doctor's jaw had dropped. After the lesson was over, it was now lunchtime and most of the students where having chips. Alyssa was sitting with the doctor, both of them eating chips.
"What was with that boy in that class, I've never seen anybody that smart in all my life" Alyssa pointed out.
"I know, it's kind of unusual how a boy of that age can be that smart" the Doctor pointed out as Rose came over to their table, dressed in a dinner ladies uniform.
"Two days" she complained "Two days, we've been here."
"Blame your boyfriend. He's the one who put us onto this. And he was right. Boy in class this morning, got a knowledge way beyond planet Earth" the Doctor said, referring to how smart Milo was.
"You eating those chips?" Rose asked, pointing to the plate of chips that the Doctor had in front of him.
"Yeah, they kind of taste different from normal chips" Alyssa pointed out, pulling a face.
" I think they're gorgeous" Rose pointed out as she pinched a chip from the Doctor's plate and ate it "Wish I had school dinners like this."
"It's very well behaved, this place" the Doctor pointed out.
"What are you talking about?" Alyssa asked.
" I thought there'd be happy slapping hoodies. Happy slapping hoodies with ASBOs. Happy slapping hoodies with ASBOs and ringtones. Huh? Huh? Oh, yeah. Don't tell me I don't fit in" the Doctor replied with a grin as the Dinner lady in charge came walking over.
"You are not permitted to leave your station during a sitting" she told Rose in a stern manner.
" I was just talking to this teacher and this student" Rose said, gesturing to the Doctor and Alyssa, the pair of them giving a little wave.
"They don't like the chips" Rose told the head Dinner lady.
"The menu has been specifically designed by the headmaster to improve concentration and performance. Now, get back to work" she told Rose sternly before walking off. Rose sighed and shortly followed.
"See? This is me. Dinner lady" she said disaprovingly, gesturing to her outfit.
" I'll have the crumble" the Doctor teased.
"And I'll have the jam roly poly with banana custard" Alyssa teased also.
"I'm so gonna kill you both" Rose chuckled as she headed back to the kitchen. Later, Alyssa was hanging around in the school corridors, trying to catch any teachers or students acting suspiciously when she heard a voice from behind her.
"Arn't you supposed to be in your lesson young lady?" Alyssa turned around to see a dark skinned teacher stood behind her, his eyes glaring right into her.
"Sorry sir, I got lost, I'm new here" Alyssa replied, her voice shaking.
"I suggest you better find your next lesson before Mr. Finch catches you" the teacher said in a sinister manner before heading down the corridor. After he had vanished out of sight, Alyssa ran into the girls toilets and took out the phone that the Doctor had given her as a christmas present.
"Rose, it's me" she whispered "I think the Doctor must be right, the teacher's round here are sure acting weird. Okay, so we're still meeting after school tonight to investigate any alien activity. Okay, well I better go, i'm late for my next lesson." She then switched the phone off, placed it in her pocket and quickly slipped out of the girl's toilets. Later that evening, the Doctor, Alyssa, Rose and Mickey snuck into the empty school and the empyness made it look a little creepy.
"Oh, it's weird seeing school at night. It just feels wrong" Rose pointed out " When I was a kid, I used to think all the teachers slept in school."
" All right, team. Oh, I hate people who say team. Er, gang. Er, comrades. Anyway, Rose, Alyssa, you two go to the kitchen. Get a sample of that oil. Mickey, the new staff are all Maths teachers. Go and check out the Maths department. I'm going to look in Finch's office. Be back here in ten minutes" the Doctor told the three of them before heading off down the corridor and Rose looked at Mickey with a worried expression.
"You going to be all right? " she asked him.
"Me? Please. Infiltration and investigation? I'm an expert at this" Mickey replied before turning to leave, only to come back again "Where's the Maths department? "
" Down there, turn left, through the fire doors, on the right" Rose told him, pointing out the directions as Alyssa giggled.
"Thank you" Mickey replied heading back down the corridor again as Alyssa walked up to Rose.
"So why do we need to investigate this oil stuff?" Alyssa asked as the two girls headed towards the kitchens.
"Because they've been using them on the chips. Do you remember when you had them chips at dinner, did they taste a little funny?" Rose asked her.
"Now that you've come to mention it, they did taste a little different than ordinary chips, I didn't really like them" Alyssa replied "do you think it was something to do with Aliens?"
"Well the Doctor reckons so, that's why he wants us to investigate it" Rose explained to her. When they got to the kitchen, Rose took out some oil from a giant can at the end of the room and placed it in a small tub.
"is this what was on the chips?" Alyssa asked, looking at the oil with disgust. It didn't look like ordinary chip oil, it was all thick and gloopy.
"I think so" Rose replied "and this stuff doesn't look human." Suddnely, the two girls heard heard a screeching nad they both looked up to see a large shadowdy figure flying overhead.
"What was that?" Alyssa asked, her voice shaking.
"I don't know. I think we should find the Doctor and tell him" Rose inquired.
"Good idea" Alyssa replied. The two girls then ran out of the kitchen and down the corridor when they heard a loud pitched scream.
"What was that?" Alyssa asked as the Doctor came running in the opposite direction, accompanied by a woman with brown hair.
"Did you hear that?" Rose asked the Doctor before noticing the woman that was stood with the Doctor "Who's she?"
"Rose, Alyssa, Sarah Jane. Sarah Jane, Rose and Alyssa" the Doctor said, introducing his two companions.
"Hi. Nice to meet you both" Sarah Jane said, shaking hands with the two girls before turning to the the Doctor "You can tell you're getting older. Your assistants are getting younger."
" I'm not his assistant" Rose pointed out and alyssa looked at her as though she was asking "what's your problem?"
"No? Get you, tiger" Sarah Jane pointed out before they headed in the direction where the scream was coming from and found Mickey stood in a classroom, stood in front of an open cupboard and on the floor were rats in vacuum bags.
"Sorry! Sorry, it was only me" he said, indicating the screaming they had heard "You told me to investigate, so I started looking through some of these cupboards and all of these fell on me." He pointed to the rats in the vacuum bags on the floor around them and Alyssa looked a little creeped out by them.
"Oh, my God, they're rats" Rose pointed out as the Doctor investigated them "Dozens of rats. Vacuum packed rats."
"And you decided to scream" the Doctor said to Mickey in a teasing manner.
"It took me by surprise! " Mickey defended.
"Like a little girl? " the Doctor teased as Alyssa leaned against the wall, arms folded and giggling.
"It was dark! I was covered in rats! " Mickey defended again as the Doctor continued to tease him.
"Nine, maybe ten years old. I'm seeing pigtails, frilly skirt" the Doctor teased.
"Hello, can we focus?" A rather impatient Rose asked "Does anyone notice anything strange about this? Rats in school? "
"Well, obviously they use them in Biology lessons. They dissect them. Or maybe you haven't reached that bit yet. How old are you?" Sarah Jane asked Rose.
" Excuse me, no one dissects rats in school anymore" Rose pointed out in quite a rude manner "They haven't done that for years. Where are you from, the dark ages? "
"Anyway, moving on" the doctor stated before Sarah Jane and Rose could get into an arguement "Everything started when Mister Finch arrived. We should go and check his office." The group then headed down the corridor and Rose was still questioning Sarah Jane.
" I don't mean to be rude or anything, but who exactly are you? " she asked.
"Sarah Jane Smith. I used to travel with the Doctor" Sarah Jane replied.
"Oh. Well, he's never mentioned you" Rose pointed out.
"Oh, I must've done. Sarah Jane. Mention her all the time" the Doctor pointed out but Alyssa stated that she didn't recall him ever mentioning Sarah jane before.
"What, not even once? He didn't mention me even once?" A shocked Sarah Jane asked as Rose and Alyssa headed further down the corridor.
"Ho, ho, mate. The missus and the ex" Mickey chuckled, placing a hand on the Doctor's shoulder "Welcome to every man's worst nightmare." When they reached Mr. Finch's office, the Doctor began to use his Sonic screwdriver on the locked door.
"Maybe those rats were food" the Doctor inquired.
"Food for what?" Alyssa asked as he managed to get the door open. Just then a shocked expression came across the Doctor's face.
"Rose, you know you used to think all the teachers slept in the school? Well, they do" he stated and the others looked in to see giant batl ike creatures hanging from the ceiling.
"Are those the teachers?" Alyssa asked.
'No way" Mickey stated before he ran for it and was soon followed by the others and when they got back outside, he stated that he wasn't going back in.
" Those were teachers" Rose pointed out.
"I thought they seemed odd" Alyssa piped up "the way they looked at you with their eyes."
"When Finch arrived, he brought with him seven new teachers, four dinner ladies and a nurse. Thirteen. Thirteen big bat people" the Doctor explained.
" Come on? You've got to be kidding! " Mickey said.
"I need the Tardis. I've got to analyse that oil from the kitchen" the Doctor explained.
"I might be able to help you there. I've got something to show you" Sarah Jane said rather excitedly, pulling the Doctor over to her car as the other three followed behind. When they reached her car, she opened the boot, pulled back a blanket to reveal none other than the robot dog, K9.
"K9" a rather happy Doctor said as soon as he saw the tin dog "Rose Tyler, Mickey Smith and Alyssa Benson, allow me to introduce K9. well, K9 Mark Three to be precise."
"Why does he look so disco? " Rose asked.
"Oi! Listen, in the year five thousand, this was cutting edge" the Doctor told her before turning to Sarah Jane "What's happened to him?"
" Oh, one day, he just, nothing" Sarah Jane pointed out, shrugging her shoulders.
"Well, didn't you try and get him repaired?" the Doctor asked.
" Well, it's not like getting parts for a Mini Metro, Beside, the technology inside him could rewrite human science. I couldn't show him to anyone" Sarah jane pointed out as Alyssa came over and began stroking K9 as if he was a real dog.
"Did he use to be your tin Dog?" she asked the Doctor.
"Yes he did" the Doctor replied, patting the little girl on the shoulder before turning to K9, talking to him as if he was a real dog " Ooh, what's the nasty lady done to you, eh? "
"Look, no offence, but could you two just stop petting for a minute?" Rose asked, getting slightly impatient "Never mind the tin dog. We're busy." Sarah Jnae drove them to a local cafe and they took K9 inside so the Doctor could try and fix him. Mickey, Rose and Alyssa were stood at the till, the two girls had brought themselves a carton of chips.
" You see, what's impressive is that it's been nearly an hour since we met her and I still haven't said I told you so" Mickey said, indicating to Sarah Jane.
" I'm not listening to this" Rose pointed out as she paid for her and Alyssa's chips.
" Although, I have prepared a little I was right dance that I can show you later" Mickey teased and Alyssa turned to him and pointed out that Rose wasn't interested.
"All this time you've been giving it, he's different, when the truth is, he's just like any other bloke" Mickey told Rose as the three of them sat down.
"You don't know what you're talking about" Rose told him.
"Maybe not. But if I were you I'd go easy on the chips" Mickey warned her but Alyssa stated that they didn't taste like the ones from the school.
"I wonder why hen ever mentioned Sarah Jane" Rose wondered.
"Maybe he didn't get round to it" Alyssa pointed out before looking at Rose suspiciously ' you're not jealous are you?"
"Why would I be Jelous?" Rose asked her.
"No reason, just the way you were acting" Alyssa pointed out "you seemed pretty hostile around her when we first met her."
"I was just shocked that's all" Rose replied "because he had never even once mentioned her during our travels with him." Just then they heard an excited giggle coming from the doctor.
"Oh, hey. Now we're in business" he stated and Rose, Alyssa and Mickey got up and walked over to the table where he and Sarah Jane where sitting at to see that they had now got K9 working.
" Master" the tin tog said, looking at the Doctor who was beaming away happily.
"He recognises me" he said happily.
"Affirmative" K9 replied.
"Amazing" Alyssa said, clearly amazed by K9 "I've never seen a robot dog that can talk like a person."
"Rose, give us the oil" the Doctor said, putting his hand out and she handed him the little tub of oil.
"I wouldn't touch it, though. That dinner lady got all scorched" Rose warned him.
" I'm no dinner lady. And I don't often say that" the Doctor replied as he rubbed the oil onto K9's prope which was in the middle of his head "Here we go. Come on, boy. Here we go."
"Oil. Ex ex ex extract. Ana ana analysing" K9 stated as both Alyssa and Mickey looked at him with amused expressions.
"Listen to him, man. That's a voice" Mickey pointed out with amusement in his voice.
"Careful. That's my dog" Sarah Jane warned him as K9 finihsed scanning the oil.
"Confirmation of analysis. Substance is Krillitane Oil" the robot dog informed.
"They're Krillitanes" the Doctor stated.
"Is that bad?" Alyssa asked.
" Very. Think of how bad things could possibly be, and add another suitcase full of bad" the Doctor pointed out.
"And what are Krillitanes?" Sarah jane asked.
"They're a composite race. Just like your culture is a mixture of traditions from all sorts of countries, people you've invaded or have been invaded by. You've got bits of Viking, bits of France, bits of whatever. The Krillitanes are the same. An amalgam of the races they've conquered. But they take physical aspects as well. They cherry pick the best bits from the people they destroy. That's why I didn't recognise them. The last time I saw Krillitanes, they looked just like us except they had really long necks" the Doctor explained.
" What're they doing here?" Rose asked.
"It's the children. They're doing something to the children" the Doctor replied with a pretty disturbed expression on his face.
"You mean those in the school?" Alyssa asked "oh no, you don't think they'll get me do you?"
"Now I won't let that happen" the Doctor told her, looking at her. After they finished in the coffee shop, The Doctor and Rose where talking whilst Sarah Jane was putting K9 back into the boot of her car whilst Mickey and Alyssa were talking to her.
"So what's the deal with the tin dog? " Mickey asked.
"The Doctor likes travelling with an entourage. Sometimes they're humans, sometimes they're aliens, and sometimes they're tin dogs. What about you? Where do you fit in the picture? " Sarah Jane asked him.
"Me? I'm their Man in Havana. I'm the technical support. I'm" Mickey stated before realizing " Oh, my God. I'm the tin dog." He then slumped off and Sarah Jane focused her attention on Alyssa who was still standing in front of her.
"So, are you Rose's little sister?" she asked her.
"No, I'm another assistant. The Doctor found me in his Tardis" Alyssa explained.
"What were you doing in there, where you hiding from something?" Sarah Jane asked her and Alyssa began explaining how she was at home watching her favourite tv show when two men broke into her house to steal some money from her dad's safe but she tried to fight them off and they hit her over the head which resulted in her waking up in the Tardis with no idea how she got in there just as Rose and the Doctor joined them. Suddenly a ginat bat creature swooped over them, causing them all to duck but it didn't attack anyone, it just flew off into the sky.
"Was that a Krillitane? " Sarah Jane asked.
"I think it was" the Doctor replied.
" It just flew off. What did it do that for?" Rose asked and the Doctor stated that maybe it was just trying to scare them. The next morning, they all arrived at the school and Alyssa who was not wearing the uniform this time insisted that she wasn't going to be posing as a pupil as the teachers gave her the creeps.
"Okay, well you, Sarah Jane and Rose can go to the Maths room" the Doctor said " Crack open those computers, I need to see the hardware inside. Here, you might need this." He tossed the sonic screwdriver over his shoulder and Sarah Jane caught it.
"Mickey, surveillance. I want you outside" the Doctor told him and Mickey wasn't very happy about that.
"Just stand outside? " he asked.
"Here, take these you can keep K9 company" Sarah jnae said, tossing him her car keys and he was left standing outside by her car whilst the others continued inside.
"Don't forget to leave the window open a crack" the Doctor advised him.
"But he's metal! " Mickey pointed out, talking about K9.
" I didn't mean for him" The Doctor replied with a cheeky grin and Alyssa couldn't help but giggle at him a little.
"What're you going to do? " Rose asked the Doctor as they entered the building.
"It's time I had a word with Mister Finch" the Doctor stated before he headed in the direction of the swimming pool while Rose, Alyssa and Sarah Jane headed towards the Maths classroom. When they arrived, Sarah Jane began to scan the computer wires with the Sonic Screwdriver.
"What are you scanning for?" Alyssa asked curiously, leaning over to take a look.
"I need to see if there's any Alien activity" Sarah Jane replied as she struggled with the screwdriver "Oh, it's not working."
"Give it to me" Rose said and Sarah Jane handed her the screwdriver.
"Used to work first time in my day" the older woman said matter o factly.
" Well, things were a lot simpler back then" Rose pointed out as she scanned the wires and Alyssa was now getting the feeling that the two women were about to have some kind of debate.
"Rose, can I give you a bit of advice? Sarah jane asked.
" I've got a feeling you're about to" Rose said with a sigh.
'So, what am I supposed to do then?" Alyssa asked with boredom but the other two paid no notice as they were about to get into a debate about the Doctor.
"I know how intense a relationship with the Doctor can be, and I don't want you to feel I'm intruding" Sarah jane told her.
"I'll just sit here then shall I?" A pretty annoyed Alyssa asked, sitting down on one of the chairs and watched in boredom as the Rose and Sarah Jane had their conversation about the Doctor.
"I don't feel threatened by you, if that's what you mean" Rose replied, not noticing how fed up Alyssa seemed.
" Right. Good. Because I'm not interested in picking up where we left off" Sarah Jnae pointed out.
"No? With the big sad eyes and the robot dog? What else were you doing last night? " Rose asked, clearly getting suspicious now and Alyssa was now getting the feeling that Rose was Jealous.
"I was just saying how hard it was adjusting to life back on Earth" Sarah Jane pointed out.
"The thing is, when you two met they'd only just got rid of rationing. No wonder all that space stuff was a bit too much for you" Rose pointed out with a hint of sarcasm.
" I had no problem with space stuff. I saw things you wouldn't believe" Sarah Jane implied.
"Okay" Rose challenged with her arms folded "try me."
" Mummies" Sarah Jane pointed out.
" I've met ghosts" Rose implied.
"La la la la la la " Alyssa sang in boredom, swinging the chair side to side.
" Robots. Lots of robots" Sarah Jane pointed out.
"Slitheen, in Downing Street" Rose argued.
" Daleks!" Sarah Jane practicly yelled.
" Met the Emperor" Rose replied in a smug manner.
"Anti-matter monsters" Sarah Jane implied.
"Gas masked zombies" Rose yelled.
"This is boring" Alyssa sighed, spinning around on the chair, humming to herself.
"Real living dinosaurs" Sarah Jane pointed out.
" Real living werewolf" Rose argued back.
"The Loch Ness Monster! " Sarah Jane praticly yelled before the pair of them started laughing at how silly the pair of them sounded.
" Listen to us. It's like me and my mate Shireen" Rose chuckled and Alyssa now seemed relieved that the pair of them had stopped bickering like a pair of school girls "The only time we fell out was over a man, and we're arguing over the Doctor. With you, did he do that thing where he'd explain something at like, ninety miles per hour, and you'd go, what? and he'd look at you like you'd just dribbled on your shirt?"
" All the time" Sarah Jane replied before asking if he still stroked bits of the Tardis.
"Yeah! Yeah, he does" Rose chuckled and it wasn't long before Alyssa decided to join in with the little giggle.
"We're like, do you two want tob e alone" Alyssa giggled as the Doctor entered the room.
"How's it going? " he asked and the other three were now laughing and pointing at him.
"What? " he asked with confusion "Listen, I need to find out what's programmed inside these" he indicated to the computer cables but the other three were now in hysterics "what, stop it." Just then they heard chattering outside and Sarah Jane looked to see a bunch of Students waiting outside.
" Think they must be wanting to come in here for lessons" Sarah Jane stated.
"Rose, answer the door, tell them that this classroom's out of bounds" the Doctor instructed and Rose did so, sending the pupils away as the Doctor attempted to get inside the CPU with the screwdriver.
"I can't shift it" he said with a frustrated tone.
" I thought the sonic screwdriver could open anything! " Sarah Jane pointed out.
" Anything except a deadlock seal" the Doctor replied " There's got to be something inside here. What're they teaching those kids? " Just then, strange symbols came up onto the computer screens and Sarah Jane was the first to notice them.
"You wanted the programme? There it is" she told the Doctor, showing him the symbols.
"What are they?" Alyssa asked.
"Some sort of code" the Doctor replied before a look of shock spread across his face " No. No, that can't be. The Skasis Paradigm. They're trying to crack the Skasis Paradigm."
"The Skasis what?" Alyssa asked.
"The God maker. The universal theory. Crack that equation and you've got control of the building blocks of the universe. Time and space and matter, yours to control" the Doctor explained.
"What, and the kids are like a giant computer? " Rose asked.
"Yes. And their learning power is being accelerated by the oil. That oil from the kitchens, it works as a, as a conducting agent. Makes the kids cleverer" the Doctor stated.
"But that oil's on the chips. I've been eating them" Rose pointed out.
"Oh no, so have I" Alyssa piped up.
"What's fifty nine times thirty five?" the Doctor asked.
"Two thousand and sixty five" both Rose and Alyssa said at the same time. Alyssa squealed and covered her mouth whilst Rose said "oh my god."
"But why use children? Can't they use adults?" Sarah Jane asked.
"No, it's got to be children. The God maker needs imagination to crack it. They're not just using the children's brains to break the code, they're using their souls" the Doctor pointed out as Mr. Finch entered the room accompanined by other members of staff and the Doctor stood protectivly in front of the three females.
"Let the lesson begin. Think of it, Doctor. With the Paradigm solved, reality becomes clay in our hands. We can shape the universe and improve it" Mr. Finch declared, smirking in a sinister manner which gave Alyssa the creeps.
"Oh yeah?" the Doctor asked "the whole of creation with the face of Mister Finch? Call me old fashioned, but I like things as they are. "
"You act like such a radical, and yet all you want to do is preserve the old order? Think of the changes that could be made if this power was used for good" Finch told him.
"What, by someone like you?" the Doctor asked.
" No, someone like you" Finch replied "The Paradigm gives us power, but you could give us wisdom. Become a God at my side. Imagine what you could do. Think of the civilisations you could save. Perganon, Assinta. Your own people, Doctor, standing tall. The Time Lords reborn."
"Doctor, don't listen to him" Sarah Jane advised.
" And you could be with him throughout eternity" Finch told the Doctor's three companions standing behind him "Young, fresh, never wither, never age, never die. Their lives are so fleeting. So many goodbyes. How lonely you must be, Doctor. Join us. "
"I could save everyone" the Doctor said, thinking about the idea of saving his own people.
"Yes" Finch replied
"I could stop the war" the Doctor pointed out.
"No" Sarah Jane said "The universe has to move forward. Pain and loss, they define us as much as happiness or love. Whether it's a world, or a relationship, everything has its time. And everything ends." The Doctor then threw a chair at the big screen at the front of the classroom breaking the signal before telling the other three to run out as Finch and the other teachers screamed in pain. They ran down the corridor and ran into Mickey who was running in the opposite direction accomapnied by K9 and a boy named Kenny who was a pupil at the school and had been unaffected by the krilitane oil from the chips as he wasn't allowed to have them.
" What is going on?" Mickey asked as they heard the krilitane screeching down the corrdior and began pursuing the group who were now running for thier lives and ran into the canteen as Finch who remained in his human form followed them in with the krilitane who were in their natural form.
"Are they my teachers?" Kenny asked, staring at the large bat likie creatures and alyssa turned to him with a scared expression on her face and nodded.
" We need the Doctor alive. As for the others? You can feast" Finch told the krilitane who began swooping down on the Doctor's companions.
"Get away" Alyssa yelled, fending one of them off with a chair as it lunged at her "get back." Suddenly there was a red beam which was shooting at the Krilitane and it was revealed to be K9.
"K9?" Sarah Jnae asked in suprise.
"Suggest you engage running mode, mistress" K9 said as he shooted the Krilitane with his laser beam and the group got to their feet and began to run.
"K9, hold them back! " the Doctor yelled.
" Affirmative, master. Maximum defence mode' K9 said as he continued to shoot at the Krilitane whilst the Doctor sealed the doors. The group had now taken refuge in the Physics Lab.
"It's the oil. Krillitane life forms can't handle the oil. That's it! They've changed their physiology so often, even their own oil is toxic to them. How much was there in the kitchens? " the Doctor asked.
"Loads of it, barrels full" Alyssa replied as they heard the Krilitane outside battering on the door.
" Okay, we need to get to the kitchens" the Doctor infomred before turning to Mickey "Mickey."
" What now, hold the coats?" Mickey asked sarcasticly.
" Get all the children unplugged and out of the school. Now then, bats, bats, bats. How do we fight bats? " the Doctor pondered as the Krilitane burst through the doors, ready to attack. Alyssa squealed in fright and Kenny set off the fire alarm, causing the krilitane to hold their ears and screech in pain, allowing them to escape but Finch pulled the wires from the walls and told the Krilitane to go after them. Whilst Mickey went to unplug all the children, the rest where running towards the kitchens just as K9 arrived around the corner.
"Master" the Robot dog informed and the Doctor was petting him on the head.
" Come on, boy. Good boy" the Doctor said as they ran into the kitchen and gathered around the vat of krilitane oil.
"Thats where the oil is" Alyssa informed, pointing to the vat "there must be loads of it in there." The Doctor then began to use his Sonic screwdriver on the barrels to try and open them but it wasn't working.
"They've been deadlock sealed. Finch must've done that. I can't open them" he informed.
" The vats would not withstand a direct hit from my laser, but my batteries are failing" K9 informed.
" Right. Everyone out the back door. K9, stay with me" the Doctor informed, sending Rose, Alyssa, Sarah Jane and Kenny out whilst he stayed behind with K9.
"Do you think he'll stop them?" Kenny asked "I wouldn't want to go back to school if my teachers are Aliens from out of space."
"Oh he will, the Doctor's stopped loads of Aliens and saved the world before and i don't think he'll fail this time" Alyssa replied just as the Doctor came running out and sealed the door shut with the sonic screwdriver.
"Where's K9? " Sarah Jane asked as he came running towards them.
"We need to run" the Doctor told her, pulling her away as she asked what he had done with K9 as Mickey came running out of the building along with the other kids just as the building exploded and all the school kids cheered. Rose and Alyssa high fived as a girl asked Kenny if he had something to do with the school exploding whilst the Doctor looked at Sarah jane apologeticly.
"I'm sorry" he told her.
"It's all right" Sarah Jane replied, trying not to cry "he was just a daft metal dog. It's fine, really." This time she really did burst into tears and the Doctor comforted her.
"Did K9 do this?" Alyssa asked "he sacrificed himslef to save everybody?"
"Yeah, yeah he did" the Doctor replied, patting the girl on the shoulder. The next day, the Doctor had succeeded in repairing K9 and told him to stay hidden behind the Tardis so that he could suprise Sarah Jane who arrived a little while later and the Doctor invited her into the Tardis.
"You've redecorated' she pointedo ut when she got a glimpse of the Tardis's interior design.
"Do you like it?" the Doctor asked, a cheeky grin plastered across his face.
"Oh, I, I do. Yeah. I preferred it as it was, but er, yeah. It'll do" Sarah Jane pointed out.
"I love it" Rose inquired.
"So do I" Alyssa agreed.
"Hey, you what's forty seven times three hundred and sixty nine? " Sarah Jane asked Rose who said that she had no idea cas the oil had now faded.
"Don't ask me neither because I don't know" Alyssa replied "I think the oil's faded from me too."
"Well we're about to set off, do you want to come?" the Doctor asked Sarah Jane.
" No. I can't do this anymore. Besides, I've got a much bigger adventure ahead. Time I stopped waiting for you and found a life of my own" Sarah Jane insisted.
"Can I come? No, not with you" Mickey asked looking at Sarah jane before turning to the Doctor " I mean with you. Because I'm not the tin dog, and I want to see what's out there."
"Oh, go on, Doctor. Sarah Jane Smith, a Mickey Smith. You need a Smith on board" Sarah Jane suggested.
"Yeah Mickey's awesome" Alyssa stated.
"Okay then, I could do with a laugh" the Doctor agreed and Mickey and Alyssa high fived before he asked Rose if it was okay.
"No, great. Why not? " Rose muttered sarcasticly.
"Well, I'd better go" Sarah Jane said as Rose walked over to her.
"What do I do? Do I stay with him?" she asked.
"Yes. Some things are worth getting your heart broken for. Find me, if you need to, one day. Find me" Sarah Jane told her before leaving the Tardis.
"Do you think we'll see Sarah Jane again?" Alyssa asked.
"I'm sure we will" The Doctor reassured her "we might bump into her again one day."
"I hope so, she was nice" Alyssa pointed out.
"Yeah, she is" the doctor told her before turning to the other two "right, shall we get going then." He then set the controls and the Tardis began to fly off for more adventures.
