The Grass Evaluation
One day, the Striaton City Gym Leader Cilan invited me to Lostlorn Forest for a friendly rematch. I accepted. My friends Hilda and Rosa tagged along.
He called out a Maractus, and I called out my Chandelure. Chandelure outmaneuvered Maractus and knocked it out with only one Flamethrower attack.
He sent out a Ferrothorn. Chandelure outmaneuvered Ferrothorn and knocked it out with one Flamethrower.
He called out a Whimsicott. I recalled Chandelure and sent out my Scolipede. Scolipede and Whimsicott were about evenly matched in speed.
Scolipede knocked out Whimsicott with a single Poison Jab move, but not before getting hit and confused by Whimsicott's Hurricane move.
He sent out a Lilligant. Although still confused, Scolipede managed to outspeed Lilligant and knock it out with an X-Scissor move.
He called out a Serperior. I recalled Scolipede and called Chandelure back out. Serperior easily outmaneuvered Chandelure and hit it with a Dragon Pulse attack.
This didn't do much. Chandelure struck back with a Flamethrower and knocked Serperior out.
He sent out a Simisage. I recalled Chandelure and sent Scolipede back out. Scolipede outsped Simisage and knocked it out with X-Scissor.
"You're very strong," he said.
