The Bug Boss
One day, former Team Skull Boss Guzma invited me to Lush Jungle for a friendly rematch. I accepted. Lillie and Selene tagged along, although they were a bit creeped out by all of the Bug-type Pokémon skittering around.
He called out a Golisopod, and I called out my Alolan Raichu. Although Raichu easily outmaneuvered Golisopod, Golisopod used a First Impression attack to get the jump on Raichu and knocked it out in one hit.
I sent out my Midday Form Lycanroc. It easily outsped Golisopod and hit it with a Rock Slide move. This both did a fair amount of damage and made Golisopod flinch. Golisopod's Ability Emergency Exit activated and returned Golisopod to its Poké Ball.
He called out a Vikavolt. Lycanroc outmaneuvered Vikavolt easily and knocked it out with only one Rock Slide.
He sent out a Ribombee. I recalled Lycanroc and sent out my own Ribombee. Our Ribombee were evenly matched in power and speed. They exchanged Dazzling Gleam attacks and Psychics until his Ribombee was knocked out.
He called out an Araquanid. I recalled Ribombee and sent Lycanroc back out. Lycanroc outsped Araquanid easily and knocked it out with one Rock Slide.
He sent Golisopod back out. Lycanroc easily outmaneuvered Golisopod and knocked it out with Rock Slide.
"You're a tough one. I'll give you that! I have fun battling you, even if I can't beat you down," he said.
A few minutes later, two Ultra Wormholes appeared. A Buzzwole came out of the first wormhole, and a Pheromosa emerged from the second wormhole. I had to use my entire party just to battle Buzzwole and Pheromosa. I chucked only a few Beast Balls at Buzzwole and Pheromosa before I caught them.
The following day, he helped me train with my Buzzwole and Pheromosa. He then invited me back to Lush Jungle for a Bug type-only rematch. I accepted. Using only Buzzwole, Pheromosa, and Ribombee, I beat his whole team.
"You destroy everything you can reach, kid. When everything, and I mean everything, is gone, then you'll finally see it. That's when you'll see something new," he said.
