Thirty mins later Ingrid was collecting her tips and her coat snow walked up to her with Emma in tow. What do I owe you? don't worry about it that soup was a day old it's on the house now let's get going. they walked out of the diner snow was ready to walk and looked to Ingrid for directions. But when she looked over, she saw her walking to a strange carriage. She joined her new friend. You have your own carriage? How wonderful that will make the night easier. Ingrid looked to snow with confusion. Do you mean the car? Oh, Ya a car said snow I knew that. Of course, you did said Ingrid it's been a long day for both of us. Ingrid walked over to the driver side of the car and opened the door. I have a car seat for Emma. I keep various car seats with me out of habit. do you want to buckle her up or do you want me to? Not knowing what a car seat was she was worried to put Emma in it. Ingrid saw the fear in her eyes.
You can sit in the back with her if you want, I know cars aren't everyone's thing. Snow breathed a sigh of relief and said yes that would be perfect. Snow walked over to Ingrid and handed Emma over and watched her buckle her in. it didn't look to hard hopefully she would get a hang of it soon and she wouldn't have to ask for help. They drove in mostly silence not because they didn't have anything to say but because Ingrid saw the wonder and excitement in her eyes everything looks new to her, and she didn't want to spoil it.
Traffic was light so they made it to Ingrid's place in good time. Emma was fast asleep still so Snow waited for Ingrid she didn't want to wake her. Ingrid opened the door and unhooked the car seat form the base and pulled her out of the car and shut the door snow got out her side she closed the door and walked over to the other side she took the car seat from Ingrid. Lead the way said snow.
They walked to Ingrid's apartment. Snow noted that it was way smaller than what she was used to. but then again everything is smaller when you grew up in a palace. Ok so the grand tour. This is the living room and over here is the kitchen the bathroom is right off the kitchen the rooms are down the hall the first one on the left is the guest room where you will be staying the room on the right is my room, and the last room is my office. your home is lovely. thank you. snow started to yawn I think I'll turn in for the night okay said Ingrid ill prep the crib and ill grab you some pajamas. thank you said snow after snow and Emma turned in for the night Ingrid turned in also.
snow woke up the next day. she looked around and saw that it was all real her and Emma had escaped the enchanted forest. she was stuck here without charming for the next 28 years. snow didn't get much more time to think because Emma started crying. she walked over to Emma and picked her up and started bouncing her. Emma calmed down and snow put her down. sweet Emma I'm going to make breakfast. snow went to the kitchen, but she couldn't figure out how any of it worked. so, she got a bowl of yogurt. As she finished Ingrid came into the room.
Oh, good morning, Ingrid did you sleep well? If I'm being honest, no I didn't. oh, why not? Well, I was up most of the night thinking about how I can help you. did you come up with anything? Yes, first you need to rest up. Then we need to get you knew identities. So, your mother-in-law can't find you and we need to get you a job. What are you good at
Well, I grew up rich so never really had to work. but I like being outside! Practicing archery, riding my horse. Then I got married had Emma. Then you know the rest. Ok then. well, we could try a camping store. Or work at a horse sanctuary. Ok what about Emma? Where is she going to be when I'm working? Oh, we can put her in daycare. Have someone else watch her? Do you feel comfortable doing that? No but I guess I'll have to get use to the idea of it. if you don't feel comfortable. We can try and find you a job that lets you take Emma with you. what about a daycare? You teach and watch kids all day. Snow thought about it for a bit. Ya, I think I can do that. How do you apply for a job? We will worry about that latter.
How about today you and I prep for Halloween this weekend. We can make caramel apples. NO apples! Oh, are you allergic to them? Ya something like that. Ok we won't do apples. But we have to go shopping for a Halloween costume. Emma would make a cute pumpkin! Ok Ya that sounds fun. Said snow. great I'll get you some clothes um you feed Emma. Then we can get the day started. oh, and don't worry about money this shopping trip is on me. um Ingrid when we get me a new identity. do I get to pick my name? Ya you can pick your name. do you have one picked out? What do you think about the name Mary? I love it said Ingrid Do you want to change Emma's name as well? no that was the last thing my husband and I did together before we got separated. He loves her name. so no, I don't want to change it. Ok then we will leave it as Emma said Ingrid. Now let's start the day before all the good costumes are gone. Snow was fascinated by everything but tried to not look like she hadn't seen stuff like this before. She was supposed to be from this realm. She was ok for the most part but when they got to the costume store. Snow had seen a costume named snow white. Hey Ingrid? Ya honey? Is snow white a real person? I like to think she was once. Her movie doesn't do her book counterparts justice. But as far as I know she's not real. Oh, I would love to read all the books about her said snow. was she your favorite Disney princess? Not knowing what Disney is. but not wanting to let Ingrid know that she said yes. I can see why she would be your favorite said Ingrid. Whys that? Said snow. Ingrid chuckled a bit and then said, you're the real-life version of her your skin is white as snow and your lips are naturally red and your hair is as black as night. All though your hair is longer than hers. She has short hair and yours is to your mid back and its curly. You might like all the non-Disney snow white stories. We can go to the library tomorrow and see what they have. That sounds great. Said snow. they looked around the store for a bit longer and then they left without a costume. I'm sorry that the trip was a bust. I guess the newborn costumes sell out fast. But its ok we can get some candy for the trick or treaters and come Halloween decorations and watch some scary movies to get us in the Halloween mood. They all got back in the car and drove back to Ingrid's apartment snow put Emma down for a nap and went out to talk to Ingrid.
Wow today has been an adventure said snow. Ya, it has been said Ingrid. But it was fun and exhausting, so I want to order in for dinner. What do you want? Um I don't care why don't you pick? Said snow. ok how about pizza? Ya sounds good to me. great I like meat lovers' pizza are you ok with that? Ya, I love meat said snow.
The pizza was ordered and as they waited snow picked out a movie. She chose poltergeist snow and Ingrid had a fun night. As the movie ended Emma woke up. Oh, she's hungry said snow. I'm going to go feed her and then go to sleep if she lets me. ok Mary see Ya tomorrow we will get started on your new identity.
