The Queen's Medical Center. Honolulu, Hawaii.
Kono felt restless, it had been a few days but her body was still healing from the trauma of being shot, and the pain was almost nonstop. She nearly jumped out of her own skin when she heard the door open, and she turned over to see Adam walking into the room. She couldn't help but eye him, "Nurse let snuck me in," He said as he held up a bag of food for her, "Hungry?" He asked her as he sat down next to the bed, and she gave a small smile. "Very." She admitted as she wasn't really sure where they stood. Adam nodded before setting the bag of food down on the table, opening it. "Any idea when you can leave?" He asked as he looked over at her, he had been in and out of the hospital checking up on her. "Hopefully tomorrow as long as everything checks out." She told him as she eyed him before looking away, trying to hide the blush creeping up on her cheek. Adam tried to hide the smile as he had noticed the blush but he decided on not saying anything. "Everyone will be happy that you are home." He said as it wasn't a secret that Kono leaving had left everyone struggling more than they wanted to admit. Kono looked back over at him, "It feels good to be home." She said as she had missed the island, "How is the case?" She asked as she wanted to know how much they have progressed. "It's rough, not much to really work with. Even with the case files that your team from Nevada brought over. It feels like more dead ends." Adam admitted to her as they had combed through every detail and nothing was making any sense to any of them. "It never really made sense back in Carson City either." Kono admitted as she leaned her head back, looking at Adam before taking a bite of the food. "McGarrett decided to pause the investigation until you can help." Adam admitted to her, "He wants you and Foster taking the lead on this." He explained to her and Kono simply nodded.
Emily Foster's Hotel Room. Honolulu, Hawaii.
Emily ran a hand through her thick curls and sat down on the bed, she let out a sigh, before looking over at the time. She hadn't slept in days, nor felt any desire to do anything but work on this case before somebody else ended up dead. Her niece's mother was no help, nor was she easy to be around. She laid back on the bed and closed her eyes, trying to take in a few moments of sleep but that was quickly interrupted when she felt a hand wrap around her throat and squeeze, her eyes flew open and she tried her best to hit to the person. During this struggle Emily managed to kick the person back and grab her gun from the nightstand, pointing it at the person but that didn't seem to stop her attacker as the gun was kicked out of her hand. Emili fought back with every ounce of strength that she had before feeling the blade of a knife pierce her skin. She let out a cry out of pain and watched as her attacker escaped. She looked down to find that her tank top was starting to soak in her blood. It took her a moment to snap out of it before finding her phone and calling for help. Emily dropped her phone before collapsing on the floor. Danny waited on the elevator as he had decided to check in on the outsider, he had a case of beer and some pizza. He stepped off the elevator and headed to Emily's room before noticing that the door was wide open. He quickly sat the stuff down and pulled out his gun, he stepped inside before finding Emily. "Shit." He ran over to the unconscious cop and looked around for any sign of the attacker, he dropped to his knees and placed his hands on her stomach to help with the bleeding. "Hey, hey.." He said before he dialed 911 and called for help, before tossing the phone aside and carefully smacking Emily's face to try waking her up. "Foster? Hey." He said as time suddenly felt like it was slowing down.
