Draco looked around for Sidney. When he did find Sidney, he found Harry too! Sidney looked up and brightened immediately, "Draco!" He smiled, "Sidney!" Harry got out of the way, looking disgruntled. Then Granger entered the room, and Potter looked contented.
He ran to Sidney, who was taking a shaky hand out of her coat. He saw a piece of paper in her hand, a letter. He said, "What's that, Sidney?" She looked into his eyes, "A letter." He said, "May I see it?" Sidney's eyes were fearful, "I guess so." Harry's head spun around, "What?!" Sidney handed Draco the letter. When he finished reading it, he stared at her. She looked so scared and sad. He said, "It's okay..." She looked at him, "It is?" Draco said, "Yeah. I know how you feel; scared I won't be your friend anymore."
Sidney nodded at him, "I felt that way, yes." He said, "This will only make our friendship stronger, Sidney. I don't want to leave you alone to put up with this." She started to smile, "Draco..." He noticed she wasn't looking into his eyes anymore; she was looking at something just above his eyes. He said, "What?" She chuckled, "You're sweating." He finally noticed the beads of sweat over his forehead, "I had to carry Ronald Weasley to the hospital wing." She started to laugh, "Really? How heavy was he?" He laughed too, "A ton!" The two Slytherins were cheerfully laughing soon enough. He wiped the sweat off his face with his sleeve.
Harry and Hermione looked into each other's eyes. Harry said, "Okay...Maybe I was a little hurt by the Dursleys while I have lived with them." Hermione said, "Oh, Harry. No need to try to say anything." She kissed his forehead. He was dazed. He stuttered, "Uh...I-I uh..." Hermione smiled sweetly at Harry.
Harry smiled at Hermione, "Whoa..."
Draco knew Sidney well enough to know she was still hiding one last secret. She didn't seem ready to tell him yet, though. He was patient; he would let her tell him when she was ready. He smiled at her softly; she said, "I have something to show you." He watched as she slowly took off her bandage from her hand. He gasped; the burn was horrible.
He put a hand on her burn; she cried out. He took it off, though. Sidney's burn was shaped as the burner's shape. She had a large spiral from the middle of her hand to her fingertips. Draco's pale skin paled even more as he stared, horrified, at the wound her uncle had obviously given her.
He watched her as she took the collar off her throat; he nearly screamed. There were scars all around it; it looked like someone had put their fingers around her neck and it burned into her. He said, "Oh, Sidney!" She said, "Draco...I don't want to go back. I never have; Harry and I have never liked being there. As long as Uncle Vernon is there, we're never going to be happy." Draco hugged her tightly, "I won't let anything happen to you; I promise."
I just started another story on The Hobbit. It's called The Dwarf Girl. Please read and review! I hope you consider reading it too.
