Krika: What's up guys? Welcome to the rewrite of one of the first two chapters of this story. This is to show how much I have changed in terms of writing my stories. I'll do the same to my first PMD story, but that'll take a lot of time and patience. And a note is that these rewrites will remove or add stuff to/from the story. So they will be totally different from the original versions. So without further adeu, let us begin Heroes Arise: A New Journey. Also all ages of my characters will be changed to 19, so they'll be 20 at the one year time skip. Also Ryder, OC owned by PokeMaster64, will still be in this story. Read up on that guy's story to understand how he is.
Jakob groaned and opened his eyes, looking up a starry night sky. He blinked and sat up and looked at his hands, finding he was a human again. He looked around and he was in the same park he was in before being sent to the Pokemon World and saving it from the Shadow Pokemon threat. "I'm...back..." Jakob said to himself before realizing something. His teammates and friends ALSO went through the portal with him back home! He stood up and looked around before finding three figures waking up, but their voices were very familiar.
"Man, I've got a headache..." Said a young man with spiky, burnt orange hair with blue eyes, wearing brown shorts with a dark red shirt with a design of a flame on the back. This was Zack.
"Yeah, no kidding..." Another young man said, sitting up and rubbing his head. He had neat, deep blue hair along with black eyes. He wore a long-sleeved sea blue shirt with black pants with scalchop prints on the pockets with black and blue shoes. This was Luke.
"I feel weird..." Said a very dazed person as he was laying prone on the grass. He wore a black hoodie with dark red styling to it along with grey pants. He had black hair styled similar to a Zorua's at the front with some red and blue eyes. This was Jim.
"Um...guys...? That you?" Jakob asked, pretty amazed that they were also turned to humans, despite them actually being Pokemon.
Zack stood up, "Jakob...?"
Jakob smiled and helped them up, Luke having to help stable Jim, "It IS you guys! Man this is a surprise! I didn't expect you guys to become humans too!"
"This is a surprise too, but...how do you guys walk like this?! It's so difficult!" Jim complained.
"Well...besides you, we were all Pokemon that walked on two feet. You, on the other hand, were still a Zorua when we walked through that portal Rook made for us," Zack said, crossing his arms, "But I do agree about it being strange that we're all humans. Kinda weird to not have a tail"
"Or my scalchops. I cherished those, ya know?" Luke said, his head hanging low and sighing.
"Well...let's head to my place so you guys can get used to being in these forms," Jakob said, leading his team to his apartment. It wasn't much, but it was certainly big enough for all four of them. "Make yourselves at home"
Jim sat on a couch and looked around, "SO not used to this amount of tech...maybe in some parts of Eternia, but definitely nothing like this"
Zack kept looking at his hand, waving it a little, "Come on..."
"What's up?" Jakob asked.
"Trying to do a Fire Punch, what else?" Zack said.
Jakob crossed his arms and looked in thought before looking at his hand and tried forming an Aura Sphere...but failed, "Huh...guess we can't use our Pokemon abilities while we're like this"
"WHAT?!" His team screamed in shock, making Jakob gesture them to quiet down.
"Geez. Calm down you two. I know it's a shock, but you gotta think I got by in life WITHOUT special powers. Sure, the rush of having the powers of a Riolu was AMAZING, but honestly I can adjust to this relatively quickly," Jakob said, turning on the TV.
"Well not us! And certainly not ME! I walked on all fours for my entire life!" Jim complained.
"Yeah, I know that. But just calm down and I'm sure you'll be able to adjust being a human. And I'll help you guys out, so there's nothing to worry about," Jakob said, smiling a bit.
Luke sighed and rubbed the back of his head, "Well...whatever you say. I made you the leader when we made Team Heroes, and that choice was right"
"He's right. We're with you, Jakob," Zack said, smiling a little.
"Yeah...still sucks how I can't pull pranks the way I used to..." Jim said with a sigh, but smiled a little, "But...guess I can figure out different ways of doing that"
"That's the spirit," Jakob said, smiling.
*One Year Later...*
It took some time, but Jakob's team did get used to living as humans. They even all took up part-time jobs to help pay rent at the apartment. Jakob was currently on the phone on his parents. Apparently when he and his team arrived in Unova, the region Jakob lived in, hardly even an hour passed after Jakob was whisked away to the Pokemon World. "Yeah, I know. But trust me, they're great friends. They'll always have my back, no matter what. Love you too, bye"
"So...we cool with them?" Jim asked, messing with a puzzle cube.
"Well, until they meet with you guys in person. They're still kind of iffy, so there's that," Jakob answered.
"Great. Hey, how about we plan a movie night? I got tickets to a really awesome looking movie," Zack proposed.
"Hah! Do you even need to ask!?" Jim said, putting down the puzzle cube he completed.
"You sneaking in snacks again, Jim?" Luke said, grabbing a hat.
"Well, duh! Theaters barely search people to see if they have candy on them anyway, so it's perfect!" Jim said, grabbing some snacks for them for the movies before they left. (Legit how it is. And anyone reading this has done this at some point or another)
"You know...a year of peace for us. But...I do wonder what the others are doing. Everyone at the Guild," Zack said, putting his hands in his coat pockets.
"I'm sure they're doing just fine. But I agree. I do miss them," Jakob said, scratching his cheek as he remembered all the teams he and his teammates made friends with, along with all of the Pokemon from that world.
"Same here. But I'm sure they're doing quite alright now that the Shadow Pokemon are gone," Luke said, the others nodding in agreement with that statement.
"Yeah. No way they'll be coming back to mess with us again, right? Besides, I'm sure the others are really liking the peace we helped bring," Zack said, smiling a little.
*Meanwhile...*
In a dark alleyway, a portal opened up and a figure stepped out of it. This figure was a young man wearing a black trench coat with combed black hair and he had red eyes before he looked around, "So...this is where those nuisances went to. The home of the humans that keep interfering with everything that happens" This figure was Shadow, a Shadow Pokemon that Team Heroes fought while they were on Eternia. He walked and found himself in an old shipping yard and found more Shadow Pokemon that have gathered.
"Shadow, sir. We're ready to move out when you are," a Shadow Pokemon said to him.
"Just say the word...and we'll exact our revenge," Another said with a manic grin.
"Figure out where Team Heroes are. When you do, report it directly to me. Those fools won't have any powers to defend themselves with, unlike us," Shadow said, holding a hand up as a black flame appeared in it. He and the other Shadow Pokemon laughed maniacally, knowing they kept their powers when they stepped into the human world. However they were not unnoticed as a mysterious figure watched from the shadows and he pulled out a tablet that acted as a communicator.
"You were right about the spatial distortion. But these guys are searching for someone," the figure said.
"Keep an eye on them. If they're hunting someone and mean harm, you'll need to stop them, Ryder," someone said on the other end of the communicator.
"Roger that," Ryder said and disappears from the area.
Krika: That's the revised first chapter! The second chapter will follow soon after, so until then be patient. And like I said at the beginning, I'll get around to rewriting my ENTIRE first story. 25 chapters in total that were written very poorly when I look back on it. Plot holes galore. But I'll patch up all of those holes and renew the chapters one by one until the entire story is fixed up.
