Disclaimer: I do not own the movie Takers but I do own Alyssa Mendez and SOME of the plot
A.N: Remember guys I am revising this story to improve grammar and make the story better so it can make more sense. Please bear with me.
Jake had forgiven Alyssa over the incident that had happened due to the fact that she was actually doing good in school. He couldn't be mad at her because he knew she was trying her best to impress him. Jake was like a brother to her that acted more like a father at times, but she respected him a lot for taking her under his wing. G was also like a father figure to her, together he and Jake would get mad when she would come home late, they gave her curfews, and they never liked a single guy she dated which was understandable since "they only wanted sex" from her as they would put it. Most of the time Aly noticed that it was true so she always ended it up dumping them.
Lilli was like a sister and mother. She adored Lilli so much that she felt like she owed her life to her. Lilli always advised her on what was right and what was wrong, she gave her boy tips and she also helped Aly be more feminine. Jesse became like a brother to her he always would make her laugh when she was upset, he would give her guy advice, and she would give him girl advice. Jesse was the one who always made her have a smile in her face.
John was just John. He and AJ were the biggest playboys of the group. However, John knew that he was so he would always tell her, "stay away from guys like me." Aly would just laugh and brush it off, but deep down she knew that he was being serious. She was also starting to noticed that Jesse was starting to hang with John and AJ more. At times they would leave the club and Aly would watch them talking with a groups of girls, other times girls would swarm over them trying to get their attention.
Then there was AJ. She wasn't quite sure about her feeling for him yet, all she knew was that AJ was the one who made her pickup smoking, her arrogant ways, she always found herself laughing at his jokes and wanting to have his attention.
Lilli and Jake were not really that happy that she picked up smoking and drinking in fact that was the only thing Lilli ever disagree with her. They would tell her that she was young and that she shouldn't be doing those things, but she would tell that that she was sure they did much worse than her at her age. They way Aly seen it, she was still a virgin, she got good grades in school, she was a cheerleader, and a volleyball player. Therefore, if she wanted to have a drink and have a smoke occasionally there really shouldn't be a problem.
Aly also made a friend, Jessica, who she met at her public school (she didn't want to go to a private). Aly remember the first day she met her, it was Aly first day of school when she opened the door to her first class Aly and Jessica clicked right away and since that day on they did everything together. If Aly tried out for volleyball Jessica tried out for volleyball. Jessica tried out for cheerleading then Aly went along and tried out for cheerleading.
It was evening time and Aly had just dropped off her friend at her house after cheerleading practice. She made her way to the club, and parked her silver 2010 BMW M3. She stepped out of her car still wearing her cheerleading uniform. She locked the car by the remote control in her keychain then opened the door to the club and went in hanging her keys in the key hanger. The club wasn't opened to the public yet, the people there were only the takers (as the guys like to call themselves), Lilli, and the trusted bartenders that were busy preparing the club for the night.
AJ peeked from the top floor to see who had came into the club, and grinned when he noticed it was only Aly. "Oh, it's just feisty," he said blowing out the smoke of his cigarette very sexily. Aly rolled her eyes and gave him the finger. He chuckled and checked her out in her cheerleading uniform as she headed for that steps that leads to the top of the club.
"Did you guys hear about the bank robb-e-ry," she stopped when she saw a whole table full with money loitered everywhere in the room. John, G, and Jake stop the process of shoving money into a black duffle bag, while Jesse came out of a back room with another duffle bag full of ski masks, and fully loaded assault rifles.
The bank robbery that took place while she was in school was all over the news. She had first heard it when she and Jessica stopped to get a smoothie at their favorite cafe. Everyone was gather around the tv listening to the news. The news anchor talked about how the robbers got away, and they suspect it's the same robbers that have been terrorizing banks in the tri-state area.
"These bank robbers are highly elite, they know what they are doing they leave no trace." The reporter said. "But what is more interesting is that they do not harm-"
Aly smiled as she watched the news. She could tell that whoever these people where they were awesome.
"Gosh, how can people do these type of crimes?" Jessica said walking out the cafe with Aly.
Aly sipped on her froze drink and smirked, "Well everyone gotta get paid one way or another."
Jessica shrugged, "True."
Aly's mouth was wide opened as she scanned the room. All over the room were mountains of bundled hard cash stacked on top each other. AJ just casually leaned against the railing smoking his cigarette. Her shocked face quickly changed into a smirked which got bigger by the second.
"I KNEW IT," was all she said then grabbed a whole wad of money and flipped through it. The guys just looked at one another.
"Dammit AJ," Jake got up angrily. "I told you to stall her."
"Wait," Aly glared at him. "You was going to try to keep hiding this from me?"
Everyone stood shut.
"I really don't care about all of this," Aly chuckled. "I kinda already knew you guys were doing something illegal. I just wasn't sure what. It was either drug trafficking or money laundering."
"What made you think that way?" Jake asked still angry but a little more calmer since G wasn't outbursting.
"The day I met you I heard you whisper to Lilli if I was a cop." Aly said. "I want in."
"No, I don't want you involved," Jake said shaking his head and going back to counting the money on the table.
"Please, Jake now that I know it's going to be hard to keep me away from all this. Besides all i'm going to do is keep asking until you say yes."
"You weren't even supposed to find out like this," he said disappointedly and angry. He felt like he was having the same conversation with Jesse when he found out and wanted to be part of the takers.
"I'm smart, Jake. I very keen into details, and I know how to protect myself. I'm not a rookie either. I have done countless of robberies." Everyone looked at Jake for confirmation.
"It's true I pulled out her record. BUT," he said his eyes never leaving Aly. "She was arrested a couple of time for hacking, breaking an entry, and other minor misdemeanors."
It was G's turn to talk, "You never mentioned all of this."
"I had a rough childhood." Aly said her eyes beginning to softened.
"Tell us," G said.
Aly pulled up a chair and sat down, and began telling her story. A story that she hopped she never had to tell anyone. She didn't want pity she just wanted respect and comprehension.
"My father died when I was 6 in war duty he was a French man. He was my hero."
Memories of her father flooded Aly's mind. Little tears formed in the corner of her eyes a lumpy feeling was starting to form in the back of her throat.
"I can still remember my mami opening the door of our house and finding a man dressed in a military suite with a tons of badges handing the American flag folded in a neat triangle to her. She shouted, and cried to heavily. She even collapse in the strangers arms." Aly's cheek was completely wet from her tears. She hadn't noticed when Lilli came into the room and sat on Jake's lap. Everyone's eyes were glued on her.
"Aly if you don't want to tell us-" Lilli began tears also forming in her eyes.
"NO. I need to. I need to build trust. No more secrets." Aly said sniffling and wiping her tears with the back of her hands.
Aly chuckled a bit "You know that Eminem song when he said- Have you ever loved someone so much, you'd give an arm for? Not the expression, literally give an arm for? When they know they're your heart and you know you were their armor and you will destroy anyone who would try to harm them. But what happens when karma, turns right around and bites you? And everything you stand for, turns on you to spite you? What happens when you become the main source of her pain? That's how I felt about my mother. I watched her single-handedly ruin her life. She stopped being my mother after my father was buried. I literally had to care for her for the first few months. I didn't blame her then. I was only 10 and had to give up school! The bills were starting to accumulate on our table. Then the next thing you know we couldn't afford the lush life that my father provided for us. We had to move out to the projects. That's where things went downhill for us. My mother become a prostitute just so she can pay for the bills, I didn't blame her then."
Aly didn't blame her mother for doing whatever she could to get food on the table, or clothes on her back. She'll be angry if she didn't do anything. "My mom would always tuck me into bed and would tell me 'Don't ever, ever make the same mistakes your mother did' and would leave to go to work. I always knew where she was going. The school had stepped in one day and called DHS on my mother. She explained the situation and they took me away to foster care. They said it was only until my mother sobered up but she ran away. She left me to be in the care of some really religious couple who shoved their beliefs down my throat." Aly stopped to laugh a little their eye were still glue on her.
"Then what happen?" Lilli said.
"What didn't happen? My mom eventually checked into a mental institute, not being able to see her own child for 2 years in a crazy hospital she forgot that she even had a daughter. When she saw me she was so neutral. When I started to live with her again she wouldn't even give me hugs she didn't ask me how was school... nothing. Until one day she snapped, she said 'I had to give up the life that I had for you and you're not even my daughter they are trying to make me take care of a kid that's not mine' no matter how much I cried she wouldn't love me like I wanted her to love me. There was always a new man in the house they all wanted my mother but they also wanted her 12 year old daughter. My life of crime started when I turned 13 hacking computer, stealing from the rich and juvenile detention. They enlisted me in an early boot camp for the military for troubled teens."
"Jesus." G said getting up from his seat on the sofa and walking around the room angrily.
"I met Mac for the first time went I came out of Juvie. He was my mom's new boyfriend. Ugh, how much I hated that fat bastard, fucking freeloader, motherfucking rapist…" all of their eyes went wide "Not me, my mother, he rapped her when she didn't want to have sex with him he even fucked her right in my face. He would sit next to me on purpose and touch my legs while we sat in our fucked up dinner table. In our fucked up little house. He not only wanted to fuck my mother he wanted to fuck her 16 year old too. So one night he went into my room to rape me, he tried to rape me so many times that I can't even count but of course I always threaten him. Well, this time he came to my room and opened my legs I kicked him in his balls. I took a gun that belonged to him and blew that fuckers brain off. I didn't go to jail, because it turns out that the jackass was a America's most wanted. Ever since then I been in the streets. The end." Aly said sighting.
"Well, don't worry nobody is gonna hurt you now." Jake said pulling Aly to a hug.
"Thank you, Jake."
That same night Jake proposed to Lilli. Everyone clapped for them and they did a toast. After the toast Aly went outside for a smoke AJ following her. Aly looked at AJ and took a cigarette out trying to light it with her lighter that didn't work so AJ lighted it for her.
"Thanks." She said taking a long puff of her cigarette making the smoke dance in her lungs before letting all the smoke out.
"Welcome. You should really consider quitting," he said looking down at her. Aly could feel a little smile forming in the side of her lips.
"You care about me?" Aly asked.
"Of course I do," he said not looking at her anymore. Aly laughed, AJ smirked something that Aly thought that was attractive.
"Did I ever told you that you look a little tempting in that uniform?" AJ said checking her out again, Aly laughed.
"Take a good look at it cuz that's all you ever gonna get."
"So you like to tease me?" AJ ask his mind running pictures of her doing her little cheer dances in her uniform.
"I'm a jail bait like you say." Aly said walking back inside not answering his question with her cigarette in her hand. Once inside she sat at the piano and started pressing on some keys.
"AJ can you come up here for a minute." Jesse said from upstairs. AJ walked back upstairs and sat at the couch.
"AJ what do you think about letting Aly join the group?" asked John.
"I think it could be fun," he said putting the cigarettes ashes on the ashtray.
"She might be of use to us." John said turning back to G and Jake.
Jesse cut into the conversation, "Yeah we could use her small figures in small places, and she knows how to defend herself."
"His right and we could use her." G said looking at Jake. Jake shook his head and got up in frustration.
"This is not we do gentleman. We can't risk Aly getting hurt." Jake said. "I won't allow it."
"Jake she's made up her mind," John said. "She's hard headed, and you heard her story. She'd not new to this. She doesn't want our sympathy, she doesn't want us to treat her like a china doll. Life has dealt her shitty hands, don't make it any shittier for her."
Jake thought for a minute and gulped down the brandy in his glass in one gulp. "If something happens to her that's on y'all."
With that Jake took a seat. He looked at Jesse who was busy in conversation with AJ. He has dedicated his life to the the taker job but it has now took his brother and now taking Aly. Jake felt like he was losing grip of what he love the most.
While they were upstairs drinking and talking they got interrupted by the piano playing they looked at each other and went downstairs to their surprise Aly was playing the piano and Lilli across from her listening to her play Good Enough by Evanescence.
Everyone was amazed they all clapped for her and smiled. Lilli went over to Aly and hugged her, "That was amazing!"
