Yay first update of 2014 of little light.
So as mentioned this is the big chapter that everyone has been waiting for since the start of this fanfic so hope you all enjoy this chapter

Everyone who was currently at the guild was enjoying its unusually calm atmosphere due to the fact that many of the more rowdy mages were either busy on a mission or training for the upcoming s-class exam. Lucy who was currently sipping her daily strawberry soy sauce shake sat at one of the bar stools looking at her pregnant stomach smiling her predicted due date was just over a week's time, while Mika sat next to her reading a medical textbook writing down notes, before looking up as Mira placed a plate of scrambled eggs in front of her, mouthing the word thanks, Mika went back to her studying while Mira gave her attention to the pregnant blonde.
'Neh Lucy I noticed that it was only you and Mika who came in this morning?' Mira question
'Hmm oh yea Natsu currently out in town somewhere with Wendy, I think they're doing this kind of sensory training by using her dragon senses in hope's Wendy gets a chance to participate in the exam this time round, which is rather relieving since Natsu's been glued to my side again for the last week' Lucy answered the barmaid's question as she finished she noticed that Levy was waving at her in a manner of asking her to come over. 'ahhh sorry Mira I think Levy wants me' Lucy excused herself before making her way towards the script mage taking her milkshake with her.
'So what's the deal with these s-class exams' Mika questioned Mira without looking up from her notes.
'Hmm well you see within the guilds we have S-class wizards who are known as the strongest mages in the guild and the exam is to...' Mira began.
'Ahhhh' A loud feminine gasp echoed through the guild hall followed by an equally loud bang as a cup filled with strawberry and soy shake fell to the ground splattering the drink everywhere as well as into a small puddle. Standing in the middle was an extremely wide eyed Lucy who was visibly shaking with her left arm held out while the other was resting on her stomach, breathing heavily, Lucy slowly turned her head towards Mika 'umm Mika I…I think my water just broke' She slowly gasped out in an shaky nervous voice as she began to panic. Upon hearing this Mika instantly sprang into action.
'Right everyone listen up, Erza, Bisca I need you two to go outside and get the carriage that we have prepared for this occasion and meet us out front, Levy, Mira get to Lucy keep her calm and guide her outside I will join you as soon as I can, Gajeel and Gray I need you two to go find Natsu and get him to meet us at the hospital, everyone else I need you guys to decide who gets to clean up this mess' Mika ordered as everyone followed her demands and began to prepare for the trip to the hospital, noting that everything so far was taken care of Mika pulled out her communicative Lacrima and contacted her staff on standby after dismissing their complaints of it being almost two week early she quickly demand them to get the room ready for their arrival. After hanging up Mika quickly made her way towards Lucy who was being guided slowly out of the guild hall by Levy and Mira, once she reached Lucy, Mika began walking backwards as she spoke so that she can keep eye contact with the mage. 'Ok Lucy you're doing fine right now, I just need you to control your breathing so deep breaths ok' she spoke in a soft tone.
'How is everything alright it's too early what if something is wrong..ahh' Lucy panic before cringing in slight pain.
'Shhh it's alright, we just got the prediction wrong, it's natural now just stay calm and keep breathing' Mika spoke as she signalled with her hands as she breathed in and out smiling as Lucy mimicked her actions, before turning to the two female mages guiding her 'Her contractions seem to be far apart at this stage, I suggest we get to the hospital where we can get pain killers before they happen closer to one another' Mika finished as they made their way through the guild doors, feeling relief as she saw that Erza and Bisca were already waiting with the carriage, slowly they helped Lucy into the carriage before they made the rush to the hospital, with Erza in the front driving while Lucy, Mika, Bisca and Levy where in the back supporting Lucy. Mira stayed behind planning to meet them at the hospital after collecting some supplies such as a change of clothes from Lucy's and Natsu's house.
'Good luck Lucy' Mira whispered as she watched the cart disappear.

*With Natsu and Wendy*
Natsu, Wendy and their two exceeds were currently within one of Magnolia's many parks, completely unaware of the events unfolding at the guild. Happy and Charle were leaning against one of the trees in the park as they watched Natsu and Wendy's training process. Wendy was currently standing in the middle of the grassy field with a blindfold on concentrating, while Natsu slowly walked around her.
'As we know from experience while in battle we cannot always see what is currently happening, however since we are dragon slayers we are able to easily smell and hear to locate our enemies, allowing us to sense their movements and attacks without having to see them' Natsu exclaimed as he stopped walking currently located to Wendy's right. 'Ready?' he asked smiling as the younger mage nodded 'ok than Karyū no Tekken' Natsu yelled as he sent a fiery fist towards Wendy who was quickly moved to her left avoiding the attack, causing them both to smile, Natsu was about to send another attack however they were interrupted.
'Oi flame brain attacking a young blindfolded girl in public doesn't look good' Gray panted coming to a stop followed by Gajeel and Patherlilly, who went and joined the other exceeds
'Definably suspicious salamander' Gajeel added, quickly dodging a fireball.
'Ahh sorry I just wanted Natsu-san to help with my response to hearing and smell, I didn't know that it looked so bad' Wendy apologized as she removed her blindfold
'Yea I was just helping her, and what the hell are you and Ice brains doing here interrupting training lesson' Natsu angrily yelled at the two.
'Firstly Wendy are you nuts trusting flame head to help you with fighting skills' Gray stated as he lost his shirt 'Secondly Natsu you need to get to the hospital' Gray advised in a serious tone.
'What the hell you stripper there is nothing wrong with my training and you'll be the one in the hospital once I beat you' Natsu yelled preparing for a fight.
'Oi as much as I love to have a good fight Salamander you really need to get to the hospital the stork seems to be as impatient as you are gehe' Gajeel laugh as he watch Natsu's anger turn to confusion to realization.
'You don't mean…?'
'Yea we do' Gray answered.
'Shit, Happy' Natsu yelled as the exceed who also just realized the situation flew over to the fire mage grabbing hold of him 'Happy max speed to the hospital' Natsu yelled.
'Aye sir' Happy said as the two took off leaving the others to follow behind.

After a few minutes thanks to max speed Natsu and Happy arrived at the hospital just as the others were checking in.
'Lucy!' Natsu shouted as he ran to his mate's side gripping her right hand in reassurance.
'Natsu your he...gahh' Lucy had started before another contraction jolted through her body causing the blonde to gasp in pain as she rested her head on her husband shoulder squeezing his hand, who responded by pulling her into an embrace hoping to comfort her.
'Hmm the contractions are happening closer within each other' Mika stated before calling out to the nurse who had just joined them with a wheelchair 'Kira I need you to take Lucy and Natsu to their designated room, and help Lucy change into her robes, while Natsu puts his on.' Mika directed and watched them leave before turning to the others 'There is an waiting room on the same floor, you guys are welcome to stay however child birth can last for several hours, now excuse while I go to prepare' She finished before rushing off into the same direction followed by Erza and Levy who decided to stay.

It had been over four hours since Lucy first went into labour, she had been placed in a risen bed so that she was in a sitting position, since then she had been given several pain killers however she had now reached the stage in labour where it was considered too dangerous to inject anymore into her system, resulting the pain to become almost unbearable, each time a contraction passed she could do nothing but scream in agony, tightly squeezing Natsu's hand. Natsu was also in pain, not because of his almost broken hand but because he felt so helpless, here was the women he had promised to always protect from harm right in front of him screaming in anguish right in front of him and all he could do was hold her hand and whisper words of comfort, while encouraging her to breath. Mika glanced at the two with a small stressed smile, while the other nurses prepared for the babies birth.
'Ok Lucy seems like your fully dilated are you ready to start pushing?' Mika informed the tired mage who slowly nodded her head as another jolt of pain ran though her body, while Natsu gently squeezed her hand informing her that he was still there. 'Ok on the count of three...1...2...3 push' Mika yelled as Lucy screamed forcing her aching body to respond before falling back onto the bed gasping for air, after a couple minutes of the repeated action each more painful than the last, Mika broke the rhythm. 'I see a head, just one more ready push' Mika yelled signally the other nurse to past the small white blanket they had prepared, Lucy screamed, feeling like she was pushing her body to the limit and then suddenly most the pain had disappeared as a small cry rang through the room.
"Is that?" Lucy weakly thought to herself as she watched Mika wrap a small figure into the blankets before pasting the bundle to Natsu who eagerly accepted it.
'Congratulations you two it's a girl' Mika smiled.
Lucy slowly turned her head to the side as Natsu whose smile couldn't grow any bigger lowered the bundle so she could see, suddenly it felt like the world had stopped as she saw the small baby girl as, who had a small beautiful pink tuff of hair on her head.
'She's beautiful Luce' Natsu whispered.
'Yea she certainly is..ahh' Lucy whispered back only to let out another screamed as she jolted in pain suddenly the world was moving again as pain ran through her body while Mika and the others jumped back into action.
'No time to be celebrating guys we still got another baby to deliver, c'mon Lucy just a little bit more' the violet haired women shouted as she motioned to Natsu to comfort his wife. Natsu once again took hold of his wife's hand while being conscious of the newborn girl he was holding. The dragon slayer was growing worried he could sense that Lucy was already past exhaustion and was placing much stress on her body, each time she screamed he felt shattered wishing this could all just end, suddenly Lucy let out one of the loudest and pained fill screams before falling back onto the risen bed as another cry was heard.
'It's a boy' Mika cheered as she gently passed the newborn into Lucy's arms, before walking away to the other side of the room with the other nurse's giving the new family some privacy. Lucy looked down at baby in her arms smiling, it was a little boy who had slightly dark blonde hair. She weakly looked up as she felt a familiar strong muscular arm wrapped around her shoulder pulling her into a strong embrace.
'They're amazing Luce' Natsu smiled as looked at the girl he was holding before looking at the boy.
'mmmh' Lucy softly replied feeling her eyelids grow heavy.
'the boy had blonde hair and the girl has pink, their just like us but reversed' Natsu laughed however his laughter was cut short as he noticed Lucy breathing had slowed, her skin had turned pale and it seemed like she had difficulty keeping her eyes open. 'Luce?' He questioned in concern the tone and slight panic in his voice caught Mika's attention as she looked up noticing the situation.
'Gomen I just feel so exhausted' Lucy barely whispered as the world around her turned dark.
'Luce?...Lucy!' Natsu shouted in panic as the blonde failed to respond to his calls, he had begun to panic, he felt the fire in his body begin to heat up at the thought that Lucy was…he couldn't even think about it he felt ready to explode. Suddenly two hands gasped his head forcing him to make eye contact with the person.
'Shhh listen to me Natsu, Lucy is ok, Lucy is alive, just calm down, she had just pushed both her body to its limit both physically and mentally, she just needs to rest understand' Mika informed him in a serious tone releasing her grip on his head, Natsu glanced back at Lucy before breathing out, now that he was calmer and in a more reasonable state of mind he noticed that even though they were small her breaths were even. Seeing that the male had calmed down Mika spoke again 'Now I think your friends are waiting outside and are more than eager to see the two new additions to fairy tail's family' She spoke. However Natsu frowned as he looked at the little girl he held in his arms.
'Actually I don't want anyone else to see them yet, it'll be unfair to Luce since she barely had any time with them' Natsu responded.
'Ok I understand we'll clean them up as well as Lucy and the afterbirth while you go let them know so they can go home' Mika stated as she joined the other nurses while Natsu went to inform the other guild members that the twins had been born safely as well as letting them know about Lucy's current condition and why he doesn't want them to see the twins yet.

*Two hours later*
Lucy slowly opened her eyes only to see the signature white roof of a hospital room, she groaned as she felt minor pain shoot through her lower body, since she wasn't fully awake and still under the effect of the drugs that she had been given shortly after she passed, Lucy was unable to recall the events that occurred beforehand. The blonde frowned as she felt a warm presence next to her, Lucy slowly rolled her head to her side only to see Natsu grinning at her before motioning his head to the left, frowning Lucy looked in the direction before she felt her heart stop. Attached to the bed was a small cradle that had two newborns wrapped in blankets sleeping, tears began to form in her eyes as she saw Natsu's and hers babies…their babies.
'Natsu are they?' She didn't know why she had asked the question when she already knew the answer however some part of her had to hear it to believe it.
'Yea they are' Natsu replied feeling an unknown happy emotion as he said those words, before shifting so that he was in front of the cradle, slowly and carefully he picked up the girl and passed her to Lucy who instantly cradled the girl in her arms holding her close, Natsu couldn't help but let out a small laugh at the cute scene as he picked up the boy holding him close to his body. Natsu then proceeded to sit on the bed with Lucy so that they were altogether.
'Ahh welcome back to the land of living' A familiar voice chuckled.
'jeeze Mika you know how to ruin a moment' Natsu grumbled.
'Like your one to talk' Lucy laughed.
'Hey what do you mean by that' Natsu replied in mock anger gently hitting her head with his.
'Hey hate to ruin another 'moment' but I think it'll be a good idea to name your twins' Mika laughed at the scene as Lucy instantly looked confused turning to Natsu.
'Wait you mean you haven't named them yet, even though we already agreed on names?' Lucy question in mild surprised.
'Well you kind of pasted out almost straight away and I thought it wouldn't be fair to name them without their mummy being aware' Natsu responded in a teasing tone causing Lucy to blush.
'You didn't have to…but thanks' Lucy looked down at the girl in her arms who was still sleeping, smiling she looked back up at Mika 'Nashi…Nashi Layla Dragneel' She spoke in an soft motherly like tone as Mika wrote the name down on the birth certificate.
'So Nashi for the girl, cute name and the boy?' Mika asked looking at Natsu who was staring at the little boy in his arms glancing at Lucy before answering.
'Kai..Kai Igneel Dragneel'
'Kai Igneel Dragneel' Mika repeated as she wrote the name down. 'And that's it Nashi and Kai Dragneel, Nashi born at 1:23pm and Kai born at 1:29pm, and that's that I'll leave you four alone while I go get these certified.' Mika motioned to the two documents she was holding as she left the new family.
'Nashi and Kai Dragneel' Lucy spoke testing the names, smiling at the two babies before leaning into Natsu. 'Sounds perfect' she whispered.
'Yea, I wonder if they have inherited any dragon magic' Natsu suddenly gleamed at the thought.
'They wouldn't have since they'll have celestial magic' Lucy smugly smirked.
'What no way they'll definitely have dragon slayer magic since it's more awesome' Natsu said proudly.
'What does that have to do with anything, as to what magic I guess we just have to wait' Lucy signed leaning into the bed still holding Nashi and smiling. "I just can't wait for you two to grow"

Wooo that took ages to write, have mixed feelings about this chapter, I like how some parts turned out but not to certain about other parts, hope you guys enjoyed this chapter and don't worry there will be more chapters for little light.
As to the s-class exams that have been mentioned I currently don't have any plans for them that affect the story.
