The night's air was crisp as a small breeze pasted through Magnolia before sweeping through the edge of the forest where a house can be found. Inside a small family slept peacefully that is until a foul smell wafted through the house waking up a certain pink haired dragon slayer at first he tried to ignore the scent so that he can once again welcome sleep, however his attempts proved to be in vain.
"Dammit, stupid dragon smell" Natsu cursed as he sat up head in his hands, looking to his alarm clock he noted the time groaning as he saw it was 2:58am cursing again he turned his head glancing at his wife who was still sleeping soundly causing a small smile to cross his lips at seeing her finally sleeping properly again, now that they were back home with the twins he understood why the hospital wanted to keep Lucy back for that extra week so that she can regain some strength and energy. However Natsu found himself to be pulled from his thoughts as his sensitive hearing picked up a soft whimper coming from the room outside, signing again he pulled himself out of the comfy bed and slowly trudged to the nursery bedroom.
Upon walking through the door into the small now fully furnished baby room thanks to Mira and Lisanna who had been obsessing over the twins to the point of paying for all of the baby basics, Natsu glanced at the two wooden cribs with the guild mark carved in the end which were located at the top corners of the room with a change table between them, he noticed that the smell and whimpering was coming from Nashi's crib, walking towards the crib he noticed that his young daughter was squirming in her sleep and that the whimpering was beginning to sound more closer to wailing, another reason that made the dragon slayer curse his strong senses, the high pitch wailing that the twins love to create made him cringe in pain thankfully Lucy had no problem dealing with the twins crying and was accepting of the fact that she has to deal with it alone, unfortunately she was not as considerate towards his poor nose. Scrunching up his face in hopes of avoiding the pungent scent Natsu leaned down and gently picked up Nashi who was now fully awake with tears forming.
"Shhh its ok Nashi, I'm here" The pinkette softly cooed to the girl as he laid her onto the change table. "at least it's you and not Kai, last thing I need is pee in my face" Natsu shuddered as he remembered the last few times he changed Kai not something he wants to experience again thankfully in the last month he had gotten better at telling if and when it'll happen, dealing with the smell however was a different story, reaching for the changing supply's Natsu swallowed the lump in his throat as he composed himself before reaching to undo the dirty diaper. "Think of something else, think of something else" He whisper to himself taking a deep breath as he undid the diaper trying to stop his gag reflex while holding his breath, as he quickly swapped the diapers throwing the used one away, and quickly lighting one of his fingers on fire to disperse the smell before he decided it was safe to breathe again. "gahh how can it smell so bad" Natsu partially yelled before quickly quieting remembering that Lucy and Kai where still sleeping, signing he turned back to Nashi who was still fussing. "Man monsters, demons even Erza I can handle so why is this so difficult" the slayer stressed as he picked the girl up and walking to the doorway and leaning against it and began to rock Nashi in hopes of calming her down instead the baby suddenly releases a loud cry causing to Natsu to cringe, suddenly whimpering can be heard from Kai's cradle which in turn caused the new father to panic. "Ahh no, c'mon Nash please, what's wrong" He panic looking between Nashi and Kai not knowing what he should do, he was about to go towards Kai's cradle went suddenly he feels something bump into his side, glancing down he noticed Lucy.
"Mmm why is the wall so soft" Lucy murmured in her half-awake state as she poked Natsu's side in sleepy curiosity, Natsu who was feeling the relief of having Lucy here to aid him couldn't help but give a small laugh as he noticed the sleepy confused look on the blonde's face.
"hey Luce, that's me your poking" Natsu laughed however was cut short as another wail ripped from Nashi's throat which caused Lucy who was now fully awake, new maternal instincts to kick in.
"Ehh Natsu what's wrong with Nashi is she ok" Lucy spoke in a fast pasted panic tone.
"Calm down Luce, Nash is fine, she needed a change, but I can't get her to settle down" Natsu answered softly as he continued to softly bounce the girl in his arms, Lucy stepped a little bit closer to Natsu allowing her to get a better view of the baby, letting out a sign of relief.
"I think she's just hungry, actually I think they both are" She stated as she walked over to the Kai's crib and picked him up cooing to him. "There's some bottles in the fridge can you get one for Nash and heat it, I'll deal with Kai" She asked as she lifted up her shirt.
"Yea sure" Natsu answered before leaving the room. Lucy sat down in the small chair that was in the nursery room's corner and flinched as Kai began to drink. 'This definably be easier if I could breastfeed both of you at one time, but I don't think I'll be able to handle it, it's already painful alternating between the two of you, I don't even want to think about what'll be like when you two begin teething, hmmm at least it'll be easier to ween though' Lucy thought to herself as she smiled at her baby boy, hearing a small noise she looked up and noticed that Natsu had retuned and was once again leaning against the room's entrance also smiling as he fed Nashi the bottle.
"You used your magic didn't you" Lucy stated in an expressionless voice, but couldn't help the small smile that appeared when Natsu tensed.
"hehe umm Busted" He laughed causing Lucy to roll her eyes as Kai released his grip on her breast, smiling she softly burped him before placing him back in his crib turning to see that Natsu was doing the same.
"Did you burp her?" Lucy asked as she walked out of the room.
"Yea, why do we need to do that anyway" Natsu softly asked as the couple entered their room.
"It stops them from vomiting" the blonde replied noticing that the alarm clock read 3:36 before sliding back into her bed.
"I'll definably remember to always do it then don't even want to think about how bad that smell's" Natsu mumbled as he got into the bed and wrapped his arms around Lucy bringing her closer.
"Yea" Lucy replied finding she no longer had the energy to come up with a better response before drifting back to sleep.

The first thing she noticed that the warm bed was cold, groaning Lucy slowly opened her eyes glancing at the clock she realized it was just past 12pm….'wait what' Lucy thought as she sprung awake looking around the room quickly noticing that Natsu wasn't present 'gahh why didn't he wake me' the stellar mage thought as she gathered some clothes and headed to the bathroom To change
After a quick refreshing shower Lucy walked through the house into the small kitchen noticing that both Natsu and Happy where currently talking about fish, 'some things never change' she smiled, hearing the blonde approach both male's looked up at her direction.
"Morni….I mean afternoon Luce, finally decided to join us" Natsu laugh as Lucy simply wacked him in the head.
"You could've woken me up you idiot" Lucy yelled in a mock anger tone.
"Wahh Lucy's scary when she wakes up late" Happy teased as he dodge the blondes hand in her attempt to swat him.
"Oh don't you start Happy, unlike you we can't just decide it's too noisy and stinky to sleep here so we'll go stay with Wendy and Charle" Lucy vented in a frustrated tone before calming herself as she turned to her husband "so I'm guessing it's not a guild day" over the last three weeks Both Natsu and Lucy have barely visited the guild at first they started by alternating between who goes to catch up and see if anything of interest has happened but the last few times they have taken the twins but have only stayed for a few hours.
"Nah figured after last night it'll be better to rest, besides that most of the guild will be out training for the s-class exams" Natsu explained.
"Yea makes sense, I hope Wendy and Romeo get chosen to participate, I know they have been working hard….hmmm hey how are Nashi and Kai" Lucy changed the topic as she noticed the twins weren't present.
"hmm they've been up most of the morning, didn't want to wake you so bottle fed them, they're currently sleeping" The pinkette answered.
"Aye we had to also change Kai it smelt worse than rotten fish" Happy added, Lucy was about to comment asking if Happy even did anything or just watch but stopped when she heard a knock on the door.
'I wonder which guild member it is today' Lucy mused as she opened the door and was somewhat taken aback when she saw Gray standing outside the door since she was expecting one of the girls.
"Yo nice bed hair Lucy" Gray teased as the Blonde realized that she had forgotten to fix her hair up.
"ahh just shut up and come inside" Lucy laughed closing the door as Gray entered she soon followed him into the kitchen where the expected fight had already started.
"Oi squinty eyes what the hell are you doing here" Natsu yelled.
"What I'm not allowed to visit my team-mate flame breath" Gray retorted, Lucy just signed blocking out the rest of the argument as she made herself a cup of coffee as she went to pour her cup she noticed the sudden difference in the temperature, one side of the room felt warm the other cold, quickly realizing that the two idiots were bringing magic into the fight she realized it was time to stop this.
"Hey both of you don't you dare use any magic in this house and if you destroy any of it, you'll be the one's fixing and paying for the damage and please remember that there are two babies in this house and for god's sake Gray put your shirt back on" The stellar mage basically yelled making the two male's immediately stop fighting in fear of the blonde's rage seeing that the two elemental mages were no longer fighting she relaxed as she turned her attention to the now clothed Gray "so Gray why are you here" Lucy questioned as she resumed back to making her coffee.
"Master asked me to come he wanted to confirm that Natsu won't be taking part in upcoming exams as a S-class mage to monitor the examines due to obvious reasons as well as confirming that Lucy won't be participating as well" Gray stated as small cries could be heard in coming from the nursery, Lucy and Natsu both exchanged glance's before silently agreeing as Natsu left the kitchen heading for the nursery with Happy following.
"That's a yes for both of us" Lucy answered drinking some of her much needed coffee "What?" She asked noticing that Gray was looking at her.
"Nothing it's just that you never really told anyone why you decided not to participate in the s-class exams at all, I mean you were chosen as a participate twice but then afterwards you told master you didn't want to be chosen anymore" Gray explained.
"Well I told Natsu" Lucy tried brushing it off taking another sip of her coffee, "Is that the only reason you came over" Lucy questioned in hopes of changing the subject, however she did not expect Gray to suddenly freeze and look away blushing, Lucy raised an eyebrow in question as Natsu re-entered the room holding Kai with Happy following "Is it about Juvia?" Lucy enquired glancing at Natsu as he sat down while Happy sat on the table both listening intently. Gray hesitantly looked around the room as if making sure it was just them.
"Umm once the exams are over I'm considering…." He paused unsure whether to finish or not "I'm considering proposingtoJuvia" He blurted the last bit out in a face pace tone before looking away from Lucy, Natsu and Happy who were all taken aback from the news.
"Wait what do you mean by considering?" Lucy asked being the first one back to reality.
"Yea are you scared ice-Prick" Natsu teased receiving a glare from Lucy. Gray however doesn't take the bait.
"Yes" He whispers in a defeated tone "But it's not it's not like I'm scared of her saying no" Gray quickly continued.
"Then why are you scared then" Happy question seeing as both Natsu and Lucy were at a loss.
"I'm more afraid at how'll she react" Gray answered as everyone excluding Kai paled, obviously all recalling how over excited Juvia was went Gray asked her out constantly screaming and sending water everywhere before fainting in disbelief and how it was the same almost every time they had hugged or kissed for the first few month's none of them wanted to see what'll be like if Gray does proposed, seeing the looks he was receiving Gray continued "Now you know my problem" He finished before placing his head on the table.
"I think you should do it" Lucy stated in a simply voice "But if you do please make sure she's somewhat calm and nowhere near water" Lucy laughed. After another hour of talking and sharing ideas, Gray decided that he should head back to the guild since master does want the s-class mage's helping with organizing the exam and were short by two since Natsu was out and Gildart's was god knows where.
"Thanks for the help guys can you promise to keep it a secret" Gray asked standing outside at the doorway eyeing Happy knowing his history of blurting out secrets.
"Aye" Both Natsu and Happy exclaimed at the same time.
"Don't worry I'll make sure they don't say a word" Lucy insured as she held Kai.
"Thanks Lucy, cya little man" Gray softly said as he gently placed a hand on Kai's head before turning to leave "oh yea master wants you present for the s-class announcements in two-day' time" He waved as he walked down the path back into town. Lucy closed the door before leaning against it
"Dodge a bullet there" She whispered.
"You know Lucy, I don't see why you decided not to tell the others why you decided not to become an S-class mage" Natsu turned to her with hands behind his head while Happy knowing that it's best to leave this convocation to the couple left the hallway.
"I don't really want to tell the others, I don't think they'll understand and think I'm just making up excuses" She whispered softly looking down at Kai who was attempting to gasp her free hand but didn't have to awareness to succeed. "Besides a lot of people are keeping secrets now"
"Eh what do you mean?" The slayer question deciding to leave the previous topic for now.
"Well Gray keeping his idea a secret and we all know of the other two who haven't told anyone about their current relationship and we only know because your both dragon slayers and I can only say that there are probably a few more closet relationships" Lucy thought to herself as Kai began to suck on one of her fingers.
"Oh yea they weren't too happy that we knew but what did he expected doing that and not expecting me to know through our Dragon instincts and senses" Natsu laughed as he recalled the faces they had "Although I feel bad for those keeping their relationship a secret" He commented, causing Lucy to look up with a surprised face.
"Eh why?"
"Cause they can't do this whenever they want" He replied placing his lips onto hers in a deep kiss before pulling away smiling at the flustered look on his wife's face.
"Idiot" She smiled placing a peck on his cheek before walking away.
"Lucy where are you going" Natsu yelled feeling a bit disappointed since he was expecting more.
"Putting Kai back to bed and then having a very late breakfast" She laugh knowing exactly that she left him wanting more.
"Meanie" Natsu muttered before following her.
