Little light chapter 20

It was a calm day as everyone was gathered at the within the guild, undertaking their usual daily antics, at this current moment team Natsu as well as Levy and Lisanna were currently residing at one of the guild tables. Lucy was holding Kai in her lap while the he was happily repeating his new word 'Tael' , while Nashi was currently sitting on her father's lap playing with Natsu's scarf trying to suck on it as she played however Natsu kept moving it out of reach whenever she tried to, as the group conversed among each other.
"Natsu, Lucy have you two considered taking longer and more serious missions yet" Erza questioned the young parents. True since the twins were around six months of age both Lucy and Natsu have been taking small missions, while Natsu generally took missions outside of town that would last about a day, Lucy had stuck to taken local and simple missions in Magnolia since she didn't feel comfortable at the idea of leaving the twins alone for long, not that she didn't trust Natsu but the thought of being far from them just caused worry to stir within the blonde mage.
"Yea we have thought about it since the savings we had are beginning to get low, and while we have taken some jobs the reward generally doesn't last long" Lucy signed resting her head in the palm of her hand, "Taking longer missions with a greater reward does seem appealing especially since it's been a long time since I had a good fight, but…" She trailed off looking down at her son.
"I understand" Erza smiled.
"Besides it's not like there's any rush, we still have plenty of jewels" Natsu added with a grin.
"But with your destructive habits it wouldn't last long" Gray teased.
"You wanna go Ice freak" Natsu retorted lighted his fist, handing Nashi over to Lisanna who beamed at having the young child, however said child started whimpering as her grip on the scarf was lost, causing Natsu to stop on his assault to look at the girl, before removing his scarf and handing it to Lisanna so that it was in Nashi's reach again. "Don't let her suck on it" He spoke at seeing the take-over mage nodded he quickly turned his attention back to the ice mage "Now where were we" He smirked as he cracked his knuckles. Gray who was momentarily shocked at the salamanders 'mature' actions snapped out of it.
"I believe I was about to freeze that stupid brain of yours" Gray spoke freezing his hand however before either could make contact both mages were abruptly cut off as an armored fist banged into both of the male mages.
"There will be no fighting, especially since BEST friends don't fight right" Erza spoke in a harsh tone eyeing both of the males.
"Aye, best friends never fight right Gray" Natsu quickly whimpered.
"Yea of course best friend" Gray replied looking at Erza.
"Idiots" Lucy muttered under her breath watching as Lissanna tried to surpress her laughter at the scene, before Turing her attention back to the blunette who was glancing continuously at the guild doors. 'that's right, Gajeel and Lilly are due back today from their mission' the blonde thought to herself as she watched her nervous friend, over the last few days Levy had been taking more test each wth the same result, positive and as if things weren't stressful enough for the poor petite girl, Natsu now knew about the situation.

Flashback
Both girls we're sitting at the kitchen table in Lucy's house, Levy was at the time proof reading one of Lucy's newest chapters for the new novel she was working on, the blonde was concentrating on the draft for the next chapter. Both of the women were doing these activities in an attempt calm down as well as occupy themselves since another one of Levy's test had came back positive and they had both given into the fact that Levy was pregnant. Meanwhile Natsu who had just finished putting the twins in for a nap and happy who decided to join the two in a catnap, was leaning agaist the kitchen wall eyeing Levy curioursly.
"Say Levy are you pregnant" the fire mage blurted out with little understanding on the currently situation, both of the female mages however simultaneity dropped what they were doing and just stared at the Pinkette with wide eyes.
"….."
"What!" they both screamed in unison, causing the fire slayer to jolt backwards hitting the wall.
"Hey why are you yelling" He retorted in annoyance rubbing his head.
" Because how the hell do you know ahh" Levy yelled in response before covering her mouth as her eyes watered, it was the first time she spoke in acceptance that she is pregnant.
"Right enough with the shouting" Lucy quickly intervened, taking a calming breath she continued "remember Nash, Kai and happy are sleeping and right now the last thing we need is grouchy crying babies and Happy who isn't isn't the best with these subjects or secretived to get involved" Lucy finished sending an apolgitic look towards the hallway where the twins room was. After a moment of silence Levy spoke up.
"So just how do you know" Her voice was soft and timid.
"Because theres a small change in your scent"
"Eh" both female mages looked at the male in confusion waiting for him to elaborate, upon realizing this he continued.
"Well when Bisca was pregnant with Trent, I noticed that her scent was…umm..off? yea, but I never really concentrated on Bisca's scent so I passed it off as nothing, but then it happened with Lucy at first I ignored it thinking it was just" He paused looking at the two, "well you know, when theres a strong scent of blood" He looked away awkwardly as realization crossed the other's faces "Yea, but after Luce told me about the twins" a small smile formed "I realized it was different but similar to how Bisca smelt so I thought there was a connection" He finshed looking back the two who seemed to be processing the information before a look mixed of fear crossed script mages face.
"Then does that mean that Gajeel would know to" She whispered
"Hmm probably but he was never around Bisca nor was ever with Lucy in a secluded enough area to just get her scent, so it's likely that he thought it was that other thng" Natsu mulled while Lucy nodded in confirmation.
"Ok so he doesnt know, meaning it's still a surprise, although i'm not sure that, that is any better" Levy whispered looking downwards in dismay.

The blonde signed at the memory, glancing downwards at Kai who was happily sucking on her arm. It was at that moment when the guild doors opened to reveal Gajeel and Lilly walking in with large grins on their faces signalling their success in their mission.
"Eep!" Lucy quickly turned her attention to the source of the shrill squeak only to just witness her best girlfriend ducking under the table, leaving the rest of the group rather confused staring at the now empty spot, while Lucy just huffed before pulling both herself and Kai under the table causing more confusion among the others to arise.
"Levy what the heck" the stellar mage harshly whispered as she pulled her son closer to her
"I don't know, I just saw Gajeel and panicked, Lu-chan I cant do this, I can't tell him" Levy stressed.
"Well you kinda have to otherwise things will get difficult in nine months time, so you gonna have to tell him" she harshly whispered back.
"Tell who what?" both girls physically jumped before turning to see that Erza had joined them while Lissana was leaning under so that she could still firmly hold Nash.
"Nothing nothing at all" Levy piped.
"oh no, Levy this isn't nothing" Lucy retorted.
"Hey Luce, Gajeels coming over" Natsu warned.
"What" Levy screeched before doing her best to scramble out from the table and rush away.
"Ah Levy" Lucy called herself before climbing out from the table pausing briefly "Here Gray take Kai" she passed the young boy onto the confused ice mage before running to grab her friends wrist. "Levy listen stop running and calm down"
"Oi what the hell is going on here" Gajeel finally spoke up frustrated to at seeing his mate assumedly trying to run from him, the iron slayer's shout caused the guild to go silent while the pettit mage only stiffened.
"n..nothing is going on Gajeel" she squeaked out as Lucy let go of her allowing her to slowly turn facing the taller mage.
"Like hell nothing is going on" He spoke in a sharp tone, one that caused jet and droy to get up from their seats in order to save 'their precious levy however where stopped when Mira placed a hand on each of their shoulders and shook her head causing them to reluctantly sit back down.
"Fine we'll talk later them" Levy responded with a annoyed tone.
"No shrimp we talk now" Gajeel held the same tone.
"What"
"You been weird lately as well as having as little to do with me, we talk now cause otherwise i can't be sure that we'll even end up talking later" His tone both harsher and rose at the same time as both forgot that they we're still in the guildhall, who were watching them silently scared to make a sound alerting the two of their presence.
"Are you serious right now, well maybe if you weren't so stoic and a bit more emotionally caring i wouldn't find the near to distance myself from you" Levy shouted back as Gajeel closed the gap between them and grabbed her arm
"And what the hell is that suppose to mean" his voice lowered in a threatening manner.
"It means that maybe if you were more easy going it wouldn't be so difficult to tell you that im..." She quickly cut herself off from.
"That your Fucking what huh" Gajeel shouted sick of this pointless annoying banter, that was it tho the last straw and with that Levy cracked.
"THAT IM FUCKING PREGNANT OK" She shouted with all her might loud enough for the whole guild to hear and right into his face, leaving the slayer shell shocked. It was after a few moments pasted in silence that Erza decided to intervened.
"So you're telling me that both of you have engaged in unprotected interaction before marriage" The reequip mage started with an deadly aura already beginning to surround her.
"We're fucking mated for god sakes, meaning we're already technically married" Levy who was still riled up shouted fearlessly at the scarlet haired mage revealing the couples well kept secret to everyone in the guild.
"Wait what, you mean to tell me that after all my efforts to get you and Gajeel together havent worked because you to where already mated and you never told any of us" Mira joined in a mixed tone unsure weather to be happy or angered at the fact this information was kept from her. However this only caused the pissed mage to flare again.
"Oh im keeping secrets about my relationship what about you huh, why don't you tell the guild about your SECRET relationship with Freed' Levy yelled emphasising on 'secret' while Mira and the rest of the guild was still shocked. It was at this point that Lucy quickly retrieved Kai from Gray and headed to the upstairs infirmany signally Natsu to do the same knowing that a loud verbal fight was about to start, one in which she didn't want to get involved in. After they left shit hit the fan, even up in the infimatery they could hear everything as the aurgument shifted from target to target including the budding relationship between Lissanna and Laxus, Cana having some one night stands, at one point the fight was even directed at Lilly and how he was constantly sneaking to the exceed village to see his girlfriend. Lucy sighed
"So much for private live's" she muttered.

Back downstairs.
Wendy watch in distress as her friends seem to be turning on one another and shouting out secrets, she felt that this had to stop before important lines were cross and friendships were broken forever. she took a deep breath.
"EVERYONE SHUT UP" she yelled immediately catching everyone attention especially when it was so unlike the older teen to draw attention to herself "ok so yes some of us have been keeping secrets but it's not always wrong to" Wendy stopped looking down as she remember her time in Cait shelter smiling she continued "and well to say my bit yes i do lov...ah like definitely like someone here, and i know that some of us have said some things but right now that doesn't matter so forgive and forget right" She offered a timid smile as her shyness from her younger years was beginning to arise from the attention on her "but umm right now i think it's best to allow Levy and Gajeel to talk...ok" She trailed up suddenly feeling intimidated and then blushed ten fold realizing what she just said about her love life. Finally snapping back to reality Gajeel looked towards his prettified mate as realization hit her over what she just started beforehand.
"Shrimp outside now" He gently order before picking her and and walking outside the guild building before placing her on the ground against the wall, he leaned next to her.
"I screwed up didn't i" Levy whimpered out softly trying to withhold tears "I mean not only did I blow our secret but…..thats not how I wanted to tell you" she couldn't hold the tears any longer and started to silently cry.
only to stop when she felt a large hand placed on her head.
"how long" Gajeel asked in a gentle voice not making eye contact.
"a couple of weeks" she whimpered
"why didn't you tell me" he sighed.
"i was scared"
"about?"
"rejection" she spoke so sofly even he had to strain to hear it
"i see"
"yea"
silence followed as the two refused to look at each other finally Gajeel broke it.
"Sorry" he spoke akwardly
"For what" She knew there were many things he could be referring to so she had to know what he meant.
"That i lead you to believe that i'd reject you"
"oh i see" she looked down at her feet "So, what do you think" Levy finally gained the courage to look at him "and even if it hurts i want the truth please" she whispered but refused to look away.
"Honestly i never thought about it, having a kid, can't say i ever desired to have one, but also can say i was ever repulsed at the idea of it, the whole thing just never crossed my mind" He finished staring back at her letting her know this is what he really thought "although i guess since it's with you the idea of it doesn't seem that bad" He softly smiled as their hands entwined.
"Thanks, that's a lot off of my shoulder" levy whispered back. Gajeel looked her up and down before smirking.
"Although are you sure you're not to small for this shrimp"
"What ahh Gajeel" Levy huffed as he once again pointed fun at her size
"Gihi"
"That's it im leaving" Levy pulled her hand from his before heading back towards the guild
"where are you going shorty" Gajeel called back in a playful tone.
"Im leaving you" was her reply.
"Sure you are" he answered sarcastically.
"yup cya, bye" She waved her hand, Gajeel only rolled his eyes as he walked towards the mage and grabbed her by the waist.
"no your not" he grinned evily as she pouted
"Well i was trying to"
"well then stop" He pulled her into a hug smirking when she accidentally laughed.
"gah you're so annoying sometimes" she gave in leaning into him, they stood there for awhile holding onto each other as they expressed their love in their own little way.
"Hey didnt Cana say something about Lilly having a girlfriend" The slayer asked.
"now that you mention it she did"
"want to get some revenge and tease him" Gajeel smiled excitedly, Levy only roled her eyes at the immaturity before the couple headed inside the guild where the rest of the night was spent full of questions about their now open relationship and of course alot of teasing towards Lilly and other members of the guild.

And that was chapter 20 of little light I hope you all enjoyed it , I do like Gale but I can imagine them vocally saying I love or sweet names at least not yet. Also as you may of noticed I used it to set up some other couples so they just don't appear out of the blue in the future chapters, speaking of which next chapter will invlovle the first major timeskip I'm currently debationg for it to be 4 or 5 years in the future.
Also with ships I do prefer Mira and Laxus over freed and Mira but I do still find the Mira x freed cute and wanted to write it , I also felt like writing Laxus and lissana i don't majorly ship them i just find them cute
also for future refermnce do you guys want sting and yukino or rogue and yukino I like them both
