Sooo this chapter took a long time….and i am really sorry

There are many reasons why firstly the length yea this at one point was meant to be a "mini chapter" that kinda grew and changed a lot, the ending changed about three times, another reason for the wait is that I noticed with the chapter order I had for the future kinda focuses a lot of Lucy with the twins and doesn't change to Natsu so there was the problem over whether or not if I should change the time of events to fix this and I didn't want to write anything until I had this problem figured out in the end i've decided to stick with the orginal so sorry in advance if theres little natsu and twins interaction until another 2 chapters (24) anyway onto chatper 22

The summer sun was just starting to rise over the horizon early the morning, even though the sun had just started its climb into the sky it's heat that it brings with its presences had already hit with no mercy.
Lucy groaned in her sleep as she pushed herself away from a heat source before shifting positions constantly trying to find an escape from the uncomfortable warmth.
'Hmm hot' she muttered as she gave in and opened her eyes staring the ceiling tilting her head to her side she found the main source of the annoying heat, sleeping peacefully not even feeling the weather.
'Gahh idiot' she moaned sitting up placing her hand on her forehead, before looking towards the clock reading 5:23am and groaned at the fact that she had been awoken at such an early hour, before thinking of her options that usually follow her unpleasant awakenings on these intensive summer mornings that had occurred since the start of her and natsu's relationship, those being eithier kick the damn idiot out of the bed, move to the couch or suck it up and just get up, groaning again lucy opted option 3 since both Natsu and Happy, who was curled up on a pillow that she assumed he place on one of the drawers at some point last night in an attempt to avoid the heat.
'Might as well get some training done' she moaned, getting out of the bed and grabbed some clothes before proceeding to the bathroom where she splashed water on her face in an attempt to wash the sleepiness away, before changing.
As Lucy left the bathroom she proceeded to grab her keys from her bedside table and her old whip that was dangling from the end of the bed.
'Be back soon' Lucy whispered even though both the dragon slayer and the blue exceed were both still asleep and wouldn't hear her. After leaving the room and headed to the front entrance of the their small house, the blonde mage was just by the front door when she heard rustling and hushed whispering coming from the twins room. Frowning she turned around and headed towards the kids room

'What the' the celestial mage said in a low hushed tone as both her son and daughter were up and awake and bit poorly dressed with untidy hair who making a mess of their room
'Huh ah Mummy is up' Kai yell with joyful amusement as he turned his head towards the door dropping the yellow dragon plush he was holding
'Yay mummy's up mummy's up' Nashi cheered throwing her hands in the air accidently throwing a red dragon plushie. Lucy inwardly cringed as the toy nearly caused a lamp to fall.
'Yes I'm up, but what on earth are you two up so early' she inquired leaning on the door frame raising an eye brow.
'Cause umm daddy got us up earlier ye...ye umm' Nashi started but than began to stumble on the word
'Yesterday? Lucy added
'Yea, so we can go fishing' Nashi finished beaming
'So are we doing something now cause you are up mummy' Kai asked as both of them turned to her with jade eyes looking at her with hopeful excitement.
'Eh well umm er' The mother stumbled looking for an answer since she wasn't expecting the two to be and active this early in the morning.
"dammit Natsu why did you them out so early yesterday, sure it made things easier at night but now they Probably going to get up this early everyday"Lucy cursed in her mind before realizing she hadn't answered yet 'Well you see I was planning on doing some self training this morning'
'Can we come' both shouted excitedly in unison as soon as their mother had finished her sentence.
' If you two do come you'll only be watching ok' Lucy stated kneeling down so that she was at their eye level making sure they understood.
'WhAt' Nashi complained with a high squeak in her voice
'But when daddy took us we did stuff' Kai added to the complaint
'What kind of stuff was this' Lucy inquired with curiosity.
' this weird stretching oh and punching and ummm kicking' Kai replied loudly as he punched the air
'And then daddy and happy showed us how to be ninjas' Nashi added pulling her blanket over her head.
' I see then' Lucy laughed standing up as she walked towards her daughter before pulling the blanket of her head ruffling her long messy bed hair 'but that's daddy's training style, mummy's training is' Lucy paused as she tried to think of the best way to say what she wanted 'less physical and more magic focused' Lucy finished standing up and walked towards the doorway of the room.

'What do you mean magic focused' Nashi asked tilting her head as both her and Kai follow their mother.

'Well you know how daddy and mummy have different magic' Lucy paused as the twins nodded before continuing ' well daddy's magic is more focused on movement and body strength while mine is more focused my magic energy' the small group started to head out of the door before walking through the small forest that surrounded the house 'Now because im a celestial spirit mage I have to focus on moving the necessary amount of my magic needed to opened the chosen gate key so that the gate can be opened' Lucy tried to explained in simply way to make sure they both understood.

'Whoa so a mage can move their magic through their bodies' Kai exclaimed his bright eyes with wonder

'Yes that how mages can turn there energy into a physical attack' Lucy added before looking downwards as she felt a slight tug on her hand.

'But then why do you need to train your magic but Daddy doesn't' Nashi inquired as Lucy stopped.

'Because your dad uses magic from himself so his energy is flowing through his body, while my magic is summoner magic so I'm transferring mine from my body to another object,however when i concentrate purely on my magic i am able to create a physical attack" Lucy explained with a cheer momentarily forgetting that it was her five year old twins she was talking to and that they wouldnt understand the massive achievement of creating a pure physical presence of celestial magic as a basic attack without it draining a large portion of her magic like urano metria did whenever she didnt use gemini however her mood changed as she remembered the second part of using a physical attack 'unfortunately I haven't really been able to use it in battle yet since I haven't figured out how to use properly and its currently a choice between using my spirits who I know I can trust and rely on or using a small physical attack that at the moment can only deal a small amount of damage' The blonde stopped making sure both Nashi and Kai where listening to what she had to say next 'and when in a battle it is always, ALWAYS important to go with the best option you have meaning i'm better off using my spirits and whip rather than using the attack, do you both understand' she finished while the twins nodded in confirmation 'Good, anyway we're here'

'Hey this is where we went fishing' Nashi pointed out while Kai ran towards a area filled with burnt, scorch and broken tree's

'Yea and this is where dad took us for training and that weird stretching stuff' Kai yelled excitedly, while Lucy smiled at the two.

'well we're not going to that burnt up area for my kind of training however we are going to be sitting by the river since concentration is need and the sound of the water creates a calming effect' Lucy stated before thinking if it was the best option to let the two come if she needed to concentrate however passed the worry of knowing that while the two can be active and may be distracting that both Kai and Nashi are interesting in both Natsu's and her own magic so it's more likely they would be queit and allow her to concentrate but decided to reassure.

'ok since i do need to concentrate i will need both of you two to be quiet and before you complain i did say that you'll only be watching' She added on seeing the children going to protest before they both looked to the ground.

'Ok' Nashi and Kai muttered sadly causing their mother to sign

"dammit im weak" the celestial mage thought to herself before kneeling in front of the two placing a hand on each of their heads causing them to look at her with depressed jade eyes only breaking the young mothers resolve more.

'if you promise to be quiet i'll let you try something special with magic' Lucy smiled trying to cheer the kids up knowing that the job was done as both of their eyes lit up.

'Promise'

'yea, now lets go get started ok' Lucy finished walking away from the two before sitting down cross legged while Nashi and Kai watched on with interested as they watch their mum close her eyes and moves her hands above her lap so that they are barely touching while her breathing slowed, after a few minutes a small golden glow began to form in an orb in between her hands after growing growing to a certain size Lucy slowly stood up before focusing on a tree as she launch the golden orb at it causing a small explosion resulting the tree to break in half with little effort.

'Wow that was cool' Nash expressed

'you blew up the whole tree' Kai exaggerated. Lucy simply laughed at how impressed the twins were forgetting that the two young children had fortunately yet to experience a proper battle and has only witness training and the guild brawls something Lucy wished to never changed but already knowing that being in Fairy Tail as well as the actions of her and Natsu's past meant it was impossible for them to never be part of a real battle and the only thing that Natsu and herself can do is be there, protect them and when the there old enough train them enough so that even if they decided not to persuade the life of a mage they can at least defend themselves.

'as cool as it is that the best i can so far, but lets see if i've gotten better tho' Lucy added pulling virgo's key from her pouch opening the gate.

'Virgo' cried joyfully at the appearance of the spirit

'Punishment Hime' the maiden greeted while nodding towards the pinkette and male blonde.

'No Virgo, can you please hang around so that i can see if i have gotten any better while i have gate opened' The mage denied kindly before starting the process again however as she launch the orb into another tree creating a smaller impact leaving only a scorch marking on the tree.

'woah it got smaller' The two younger members yelled in amazement not being able to comprehend how it was really a sign of doing worse than before.

'Yea it did' Lucy muttered in an upset manner before turning to Virgo. 'Thanks for coming even though there was really anything to do' she continued in a disappointed manner

'Hime although it isnt visible the damage was stronger than last time' Virgo state causing Lucy to smile

'Thanks'

'Punishment?'

'No' Lucy chuckled rolling her eyes as she gave up on trying to break Virgo's need for punishment a long time ago while Virgo returned to the celestial plain.

'I don't get why Virgo always asking for punishment, especially when she did nothing wrong' Nashi mentioned.

'Yea and why would you want to be punished it scary and not nice' Kai finished with a shiver remembering the last time he got in trouble.

'Well that's just her own little quirk' Lucy answered the two glad.

'Whats a quirk' they both asked.

'Hmmm well its something that someone does continuously and its usually only done by that one person' she explained.

'Oh like how Happy rolls his tongue' Nashi added

'Exactly'

There was a moment of silence before Kai looked up at his mum.

'Hey mum if you can do that with your magic would we be able to do it one day to if we get magic' He inquired

Yes it's very likely that both you and your sister will be able to, actually the thing that I promised that I'll let you try is very similar to what I just did' Lucy explained

'Woah really what is it' Kai questioned wide eyed.

'It's an excersise that wil allow the user and those around them to acess any magical energy they have and release some, this is a common technique that is used by many magic teachers to judge the ability of using magic' Lucy finished noticing that both Kai and Nashi had a confused looks, sighing she added 'Basically it allows someone to tell if they can become a magic user' She finished trying to put the explanation in simpler terms.

'Can we try to please you promised' Nashi begged jumping in excitement.

'Since you and your brother well well behaved than a promise is a promise and a celestial mage never breaks their promises' Lucy kneeled down before placing a hand on Nashi's head stopping her from jumping 'But first both of you need to settle down, if you want to do this you'll have to concentrate and sit quietly like I was before hand ok?' She finished with a smile

'ok' both agreed in unsion.

'Right firstly I will need both of you to sit down with your legs cross' Lucy instructed in a soft tone waiting for her son and daughter to follow the instruction before continuing 'Now place both your hands in your lap and close your eyes' She finished smiling as they both excitedly followed the steps, she did roll her eyes as she noticed the two struggling to sit still "Courtsy of Natsu's genes, no one who has him in them will ever be able to sit still" Lucy joked to herself shaking her head.

"Now i want you both to clear your heads...errrm don't think of anything" The mage quickly corrected herself making sure to speak in more child friendly terms before continuing in a soft slow tone 'ok now imagine a large orb similar to the one you saw me make before, once you have imagine the orb pretend that it's inside you in your chest, slowly moving through your body separating it into two as each one travels through you arms into your hands building up" She paused watching the Nashi and Kai feeling proud noticing that they were both concentrating hardly...well as hard as a five year old can, Lucy also took note of the fact that she could faintly detect a small and weak magical buildup coming from both of them 'and now release the energy of the orb through your hands' She finished eye's widening as a sudden and quick rush of warm air flew through the area along with the magic energy she felt before "that...was more than i expected...maybe because their's two doing the exercise rather than one...but than the problems with my magic when i was pregnant...so could that mean that their magic could become stronger?"

'Awww nothing happened' Nashi suddenly shouted in dismay stomping her feet pulling her mother from her thoughts.

'Yea there's no orb or magic' Kai muttered sadly looking down 'does that mean i can never learn magic." he added immediately catching Lucy's attention who walked over to him and leaned down so they were eye level and gently placed her hands on his face wiping a stray tear before making direct eye contact.

'shh calm down the both of you ok, listen just because nothing physical...nothing that you can see happened doesn't mean that nothing happened ok' she directed her eyes to nashi as well as releasing her hold on Kai 'i'm impressed with both of you when you finished i could feel a rush of magical energy that was strong for someone of your age' again changing her attention to Kai 'which is more than enough proof that one day if you choose to be you'll both be strong and powerful mages" Lucy exclaimed with a gently smile.

'Like you and Daddy' Kai questioned.

'maybe even stronger' sh ruffled his hair before standing looking at the sky taking note of the change in light judging that it'll most likely be seven or a bit later meaning Natsu and Happy will wake up soon and she mistakenly forgot to leave a note. 'Speaking of which we better head back up before Na..Dad and Happy wake up hmm'

'AYE' Nashi and Kai shouted lifting a hand up into the air, for reason's Lucy herself will never understand she just assumed they copied the action from whenever Natsu and Gray got caught fighting she was grateful that the two didn't start dancing.

The group of three started walking home with Kai and Nashi slightly ahead of there mother suddenly Nashi ran ahead before stopping in front of her brother with a giddy look

'Hey Kai guess what'

'What?' Kai looked at his sister curiously

'We got magic' She shouted before running ahead.

'Yea we do' Kai replied running with her

'WE GOT MAGIC, WE GOT MAGIC' they both cheer as they ran around in circles and backwards and forwards making sure they were still close to their mum.

'HEY don't get to far ahead' Lucy warned she was about to warned them again as they began to slowly go farther than before however something else caught her attention out of the corner of her eye that concerned her, as she walked closer she noticed it was an deep imprint in the dirt her eyes widen with concern as she realization dawned on her.

'A wyvern's footprint' she whispered looking at the print for a few more seconds she let out a sign of relief 'It's old' so the wyvern wasn't around but the fact it was here was wrong, sure they often wondered closer than usual but this was close, to close 'Better let Natsu and the guild know hopefully nothing will come of this.

'Mummmy whatcha looking at' Nashi yelled from what seemed to be a distance causing Lucy to look up and frowned noticing how far ahead the two were, to far to do anything if something we're to happen she was about to tell them to come back when she suddenly saw a shadow in the tree's heading towards the two children.

'No' she whispered preparing to run while reaching for her keys however immediately stopped when she heard a loud whisper in a familiar voice.

'Lushiii shhh'

Turning her head she could see Happy hovering by the tree's with a smirk on his face.

'Happy? so is that' she pointed to she moving shadow now with less panic she noticed the tint of pink hair.

'Yea'

Now calmed down and knowing that her children were safe she release her death grip on her keys knowing where this is going and she for once was fine with it a lesson needed to be learned here but they do deserve one more chance.

'Nash and Kai come back here now or a monster may attack you' She stated in a firm voice.

'Na uh i've never seen a monster here' Kai retorted.

'Neither have i..ahhhh' Nashi started but suddenly screamed along with Kai as they were both grabbed and pulled to the ground before rolling on the ground before being pinned down as both were barraged with tickles

'Ahh no stoppp' the two begged scrambling.

'Natsu that's enough' The stellar mage spoke as she tapped her hand on his should as he released his hold on the two and sat up 'Now do you understand why it's important not to go ahead if that was anything else but your father than i wouldn't have been able to react quickly enough to protect the both of' Lucy lectured as Nashi and Kai turned to Natsu hoping that their father would bail them.

'That's the same with me, we live in a dangerous world with fast and powerful creatures and if either one of you are hurt because you wandered to far than...just don't go to far ahead ok' Natsu started before pausing as his tone became harsh when he finished causing the children to turn to Happy.

'Aye especially when we live by the forest'

'we're sorry we wont go far' the two pouted still lying on the ground'

Well good now c'mon i need to get to the guild' Natsu flashed his famous grin before picking the two up onto there feet.

they walked together towards the guild as Nashi and Kai after calming down talked about the events of their morning it wasn't until they we're almost in front of the guild when Lucy asked if he can take the twins to the guild leaving her and Natsu alone.

'Luce what's wrong' Natsu could tell that something had been bothering her for a while now.

'It may have seemed harsh but it had to be done...and it's a good thing we did because there was a wyvern's footprint near the clearing but don't worry it's old so it's probably nothing' she quickly reassured noticing her husband stiffen.

'Shit' he whispered.

'Natsu?'

'yesterday i noticed an weak scent in the area,after i told happen to watch the kids so i could follow it, i didn't have to go far that's when i decided to take them home after coming back...but there was no footprint when we we're there' He finished in a stern tone Lucy paled upon realization sometime yesterday one was at there clearing.

'But they never come this close' She whispered.

'Yea...seems we have to tell it to back off' Natsu cracked his fist.

'After your mission figuring out this dark guild is important while the wyvern may be getting closer the clearing is still a fair distance from the house and path to the guild, so it should still be safe for all we know it was probably hunting something that caused it to come closer, but i'll ask Freed to put runes around the outside of the house and a trip rune so I know if it's close and to prevent it from coming to close ok' Lucy finished pulling him into a reassuring hug which was instantly returned.

'Ok' he whisper pulling apart and walking towards the guild to meet with Gray, Erza and Jellal however he couldnt shrug the feeling of unease.

"First the dark guild and now the Wyvern something is not right"

Again I apologise for the long wait.

So something is begining to happen in the story will it end badly or will everything turn out all right?

Another positive is that Uni is almost over for the year just have to more test and then I'll have a lot more free time so yay especially since there are a few one shot ideas that I want to try and well as an idea for a nalu threeshot
