Hey guys. Firstly I am so sorry about the long wait for this chapter.
I had a lot of trouble with a university assignment that really killed my writing mood for both fiction and assignments. There is also a lot happening in this chapter that I wanted to make sure in correct, anyway I do hope you enjoy it.
Starts at Dragneel House
Lucy slowly stirred as the smell of food drafted through the room, however the blonde grown as a sharp pain goes through her head.
'Dammit Gray, how strong was that stuff' Lucy questioned as she sat up in her bed holding her head in her hands.
wait...in bed?
With a brief panic the mage flips the blankets off of her, letting out a slight sound of relief but groaned again placing her head back into her hands as the sudden movement caused her headache to worsen.
'Lucy?' said person looked up slowly, slightly surprised.
'Natsu? When did you get back' Lucy questioned tiredly from the hangover but signed when she saw the suspicious look on his face 'I'm not drunk anymore sorry' she said 'got one bloody hell of a headache though' she added sarcastically before sending a glare in her husband's direction as he chuckled.
'Hey I brought some painkillers' he offered in an amused manner causing Lucy to roll her eyes.
'Hmm what's the time?' she questioned as Natsu walked over to the bed before sitting on the bed edge.
'Around 2:40ish afternoon' he answered leaning over to look at the clock as Lucy stiffened.
'oh no the twins, we got to..' Lucy began to panic before being silenced by Natsu.
'Dont worry, Gray gone to the guild to get them, so they're either at the guild or at Gray and Juvia's ' the pinkette reassured with a smile.
'fine the bastard is redeemed for now for this stupid headache' Lucy mused as she felt the pain killers working.
'So what was last night about' Natsu asked absent mindlessly as his wife thought trying to remember what she could.
'Nothing to worry about, we had some talk about the kids, like weather Aizu is interested in magic or not and how Nashi and Kai been since the..incident ummm...oh we did talk about how we missed the casual mission just you,Gray,Erza, Happy and myself and possibly wendy if she wants to join..like before' Lucy replied with a small smile.
'That sounds awesome Luce, when Happy and Charle returned we can see if we can get everyone together and..' He stopped body stiffening.
'Natsu?' Lucy questioned slightly concerned at Natsu's sudden change in body language however her unasked question was soon answered.
*BAM*
'LUCY' a familiar feminine voice rung through the house, causing the blonde to cringe in slight pain before Erza appeared at the door to the bedroom appearing determined.
'What the hell Erza' Natsu stood before realizing who he just spoke to fortunately for him the scarlet hair mage chose to ignore him as she turned to the celestial mage.
'Lucy we are going out to lunch now' she declared.
'Umm Erza its way past lunch' Lucy stated feeling irritated at the dull return of her headache.
'Fine then we're going to a late lunch' Erza added before grabbing the mother's wrist pulling her from the bed, causing Lucy to wince at the sudden movement as Natsu grabbed Erza's arm stopping her movements making the knight goes to pull her sword as he continues to glare.
'Natsu do you dare stop me' Erza threatened as both refused to back down, sensing the tense moment Lucy decided to intervened after noticing that Erza was adding a bit off..for Erza at least.
'A late lunch does sound nice Erza' Lucy spoke placing a hand on Natsu's 'Could you just give me a couple of minutes for me to freshen up and let my painkillers kick in' Lucy offered picking up some clothes while Natsu pouted.
'Very well I will wait for you outside' Erza nodded before leaving the room.
'Lucy was Erza adding weird?' Natsu asked still pounty as Lucy walked by.
'Yea she seemed stressed and worried?' Lucy added 'Sorry that I didn't eat the breakfast' Lucy smirked at his pouting.
'was going to stay in bed, have a lazy day,no kids home..hmmm stupid Erza' Natsu grumbled annoyed.
'Aww c'mon you big baby, it's likely that Nashi and Kai had a late night so they'll go to sleep earlier which means i'll make it up to you then' Lucy smirk pecking his cheek.
'still not the same as a laid back and all day sex day' He mumbled.
'Hey take it or leave it' Lucy laughed fixing her hair.
'ah fine' Natsu sighed feigning disappointment as Lucy grabbed her bag.
'Well i'm heading out now bye love you and don't forget to get Nash and Kai.' Lucy went to leave before being pulled into a hard chest.
'Love you to' Natsu smiled kissing her before letting Lucy leave.
After meeting Erza outside the house the two female mages headed towards 'Latte Cafe' for their late lunch, throughout the walk towards the restaurant Lucy couldn't help but noticed how tense and quiet Erza was, the silence remained up until the moment both girls we're sitting at a small , table in the cafe. Knowing that asking directly wouldn't get her anywhere with the girl, so she decided to try and coax the experienced mage into telling her what's going on.
'Hey Erza isn't Jellal back in town, from his last scouting mission,I thought you two would be together today, you know before something unexpected comes up?' Lucy asked curiously watching for any unusual body language from Erza who stiffened at the question.
'Err well you see, Oh look our food is here' The scarlet mage avoided the questioned causing the blonde to sighed as she took her food from the waiter. After several attempts at starting conversations throughout the meal and failing each time, Lucy was growing frustrated so decided to just get straight to the point.
'Erza what's wrong' She put bluntly 'and please no excuses this time Lucy added in a gentle tone, looking away briefly Erza signed.
'I honestly don't know, Lucy, this isn't how I thought i'll feel about this, or how'll react to it, i mean this is something I always wanted but never thought i'll have, so why do I feel so uncertain' Erza finished placing her head in her hands, leaving Lucy shocked and confused by her teammates actions.
'Erza, I'm sure everything will be fine and the problem, whatever it may be will sort itself out right' Lucy said offering a small smile, after a few seconds passed the requip mage took a deep breath and changed her posture so that she was staring straight at her fellow mage.
'Lucy...I'm pregnant' her tone was stiff and nervous but kept her eye contact.
'...'
'...'
'..oh' Was the celestial mage's response to the news, not sure how she should react considering the way Erza herself is reacting to it. 'Have you told Jellal?' Lucy questioned hoping it was the right thing to say. At the question though her friend's face turned as red as her hair.
'Well no...not yet' Erza stated in an embarrassed manner.
'eh..then why are you telling me before him' Lucy stated shocked as Erza looked away nervously.
'I...we...this isn't something we both thought would happen so we never took the correct cautions so..I...' She trailed off not knowing how to continue as the blonde stared at her.
'Wait so you, Erza Scarlet, the one who is always keeping Fairy Tail in line, that Erza didn't use protection and so your now pregnant' Lucy stuttered trying to figure out how Erza of all people never practiced safe sex.
Erza on the other hand sighed once again she expected something like this when she told someone especially when they don't know everything.
'Listen Lucy and look' Erza instructed as she pull her shirt over her stomach revealing a variety of scars 'I have been in many battles and taken many hits, many to my stomach or more specific my womb, so both Jellal and myself also assumed that…..that my body was...' She was silenced before she could continue as she felt her friend's arms gently touch her scared belly and place the shirt down, signally that she understood. 'So in truth I don't know how, since after many years of being active this is a first' Erza finished looking up to see Lucy's face twisted in thought before the key holder began to speak.
'Well maybe, and please remember i'm no expert in this but it's possible that you were born as one of those women who has like one in a million chance of getting pregnant?' Lucy theorized as Erza smiled 'But I may not be correct I'm just guessing here' she finished.
'I guess that could be a possibility' The scarlet mage said with a soft smile. 'Thank you Lucy, I feel a bit better now, although there's still the concern of informing Jellal that he'll be a father' She mused as Lucy grinned.
'Well we still have sometime to figure something out' Lucy added while pulling out her spare pen and paper which she carries around in case of sudden inspiration.
*meanwhile with Natsu at the Guild*
Natsu had just reach the guildhall in about ten minutes since parting ways with Lucy. It had been quite a while since he was alone without even Happy and after the last few missions and the hassle of dealing with Blood Rose, the walk without any concerns was tranquil, however the silence was broken as the fire mage opened the guild doors and walked in. At this time of day the guild was rather empty since many of the members have already left on a mission and the lunch rush had just passed, so it was mostly silent, however he not only did he see the hidden smirks on some of his nakama but Natsu also hear the hush whispering from behind him planning an attack.
'Daddy' Two voices were heard as Natsu felt a sudden weight on his back, acting surprised the fire mage fell to the floor pretending to scream in shock from the oncoming 'assault' as Nashi and Kai cheered celebrating their attack.
'We got you' they both yelled as they held their dad down..
'Oh really' Natsu smirked before rolling over and grabbing both of his kids before attacking them with tickles 'Did you two really think you could just sneak up on me and get away with it' Natsu laughed
'Ahh no stop' Nashi laughed while Kai squirmed trying to get out of Natsu's grasps while the other members who were in guildhall watched on joking on how evil Natsu is or how Nashi and Kai deserved there 'torture'.
'So have you two learnt you lesson, or do I need to punish you more hmm' The slayer smirked down at his two children as they both squirmed to get away while giggling.
'We're sorry' Kai laughed
'We'll never do it again' Nashi giggled.
"hmmm well ok then if you say so' Natsu beamed as he sat up pulling the two along with him into a hug 'Now we're heading home soon, so go get your things ok' He instructed as the two nodded before running off. As Natsu watched them leave he noticed that Gray was still in the guild sitting at one of the tables, with his head leaning on the wood in one arm while the other was wrapped around Aizu who was sitting next to his dad.
'So much for going home huh' Natsu questioned as he took a seat opposite to Gray.
'Shut up larva head, my hangover is hurting like crazy' Gray lazily replied before feeling a drench cloth on his head, brows furrowed he looked to his left to see that Aizu had been the one to place the cloth.
'Mummy gave me a wet towel on my head when I felt bad' Aizu spoke softly looking directly at his dad who smiled.
'Thanks bud, I already feel better' Gray replied calmly as he ruffled the boy's hair. As Natsu watched the interaction he himself felt as he was being watched turning towards the bar he saw Lisanna looking at them before freaking out and looking in another direction. Rolling his eyes Natsu excused himself from the ice princess before heading towards the bar.
'Ok Lis what's up with the staring' He teased as he reached the pregnant takeover mage who jumped at his suddenly approached.
'Who me staring, why never' She nervously responded earning a laugh from Mira who was serving drinks and a raised eyebrow from Natsu. 'Ok, I was staring, but only because I find it interesting with how you and Gray interact with the kids and how you're both different and..and..ok in truth i'm just kinda nervous since my due date is soon that's all, so since your hear any advice' Lisanna spoke in a rush manner making it difficult for Natsu to keep up.
'do you mean like how to interact' Natsu questioned tilting his head.
'Yea everyone just does it so differently and it's confusing, like what if I do something wrong' Lisanna mentioned looking concerned.
'oh well that's easy, I mean you're growing up with the kid so you know what they like and don't like since for the first few years you're with them all the time' The pinkette reassured as he cast a glance over at Nashi and Kai who were now with Ru-ne playing with some of the plushies that 'live' at the guild. Before Lisanna could ask the fire dragon what he meant, the guild doors suddenly open loudly as if the person opening them applied a lot of force and a surprise gasped went throughout the hall as Sting walked in with several cuts and scratches indicating that he was just in a fight, meanwhile walking behind the light slayer holding his hand was a young girl at around the age of four, she had blue eyes and pale blonde hair and currently wore a white dress however what was strange was the small cuts on her arm as if she was caught up in a battle causing alarm bells to ring.
'Hikari' Nashi yelled as Kai,Metty, Ru-ne and herself ran towards the saber girl all blissfully unaware of the concern looks Hikari and Sting were receiving. After a brief hesitation Sting let go of his daughter's hand before heading straight to the bar, ignoring the greetings from Fairy Tail members.
'I need to speak to your master now, along with whomever he chooses to attend' Sting informed Mira who nodded and rushed to find the master who invited the Saber guild master along with Mira, Jellal and Laxus into his office, as Natsu and Lisanna stared at the group in concerned confusion.
'I hope nothing bad has happened' Lisanna whispered feeling as if she couldn't speak any louder as Natsu silently turned his head to the kids surrounding Hikari, I concerned look on his face
In Master office
'I assume you all know what this is about' The Saber master spoke his voice stern as he looked over the at the four Fairy Tail mages in the room.
'Something has happened with Blood Rose' Makarov stated his face passive as everyone in the room remained silent as Sting continued after the statement.
'They Attack Sabertooth last night, at first we thought they just wanted to launch a surprise attack on us to take them us down but as the battle continued we realized that they were only sending their weaker members, they had a...second objective' Sting spoke looking away in anger as he finished the sentenced turning his attention to the window overlooking the guildhall, watching as Hikari who was showing of her arm with the scratches, telling the Fairy Tail kids about how awesome her mum was with her keys all of them were innocently oblivious to the real danger. As the other mages in the room saw where Sting was staring they began to connect the dots with Mira coming to the conclusion first.
'Sting..how exactly did Hikari get injured' Mira nervously asked scared of what the answer could be.
'The attack was set as a distraction to draw the stronger members from the children, once the battle was underway they went after the' He paused taking a deep breath before continuing 'they went after the kids, more specifically the younger ones who were born into the guild' he stopped staring blankly through the window into the guild hall, while the others just looked on with the horrified expressions at the concept of what Blood Rose really wants. 'From what Yukino told me along with Pisces and Libra they attacked first but it didn't seem like it was their intent to kill, it was more like they were..testing them to see who could injure a hit, or how they reacted before targeting someone' Sting stopped finding it difficult to say anything else about the manner.
'But why go after the children, that's just low and dirty and considering the way Blood Rose has presented themselves so far they have been more concerned with tactics and well thought out plans, this doesn't make sense for them' Laxus added in confusion trying to figure out the reasoning for their actions.
''And why go for those younger ones and those who were born into the guild' Mira added looking down.
'Because' Jellal started not wanting to believe his own conclusion before continuing 'it's because a those born into the guild are likely to be stronger as for them being younger' He paused 'Its because the younger someone is the more likely they are to forget, where they come from' Jellal finished with a grim face as realization took over the faces of the others in the room.
'So you're saying that that there intention is to not only destroy the guilds but to also take the younger children to raise as dark mages' Makarov restated as Jellal nodded to confirm the theory as everyone else looking at the Fairy Tail guild master grimly awaiting their next order.
'From now on until Blood Rose has been defeated I don't want any of our Fairy Tail kids to go anywhere without at least their parents or two high ranked mages understand' the master ordered as everyone nodded.
'Sting thank you for reporting to us with this information, I do hope everyone at your guild is doing ok' Makarov thanked the other master before turning to Mira 'Mirajane I want you to contact the magic council before letting all the other guilds in the area aware of this new information' Master finished as everyone left the room
*with Natsu and Lisanna*
A few minutes have passed since Sting and the others headed to the masters office and the guild was already back to its old self with members argueing and cheering while drinking. Natsu and Lisanna were still sitting at the bar, with the dragon slayers attention still drawn to the group of kids before speaking.
'I haven't seen Gajeel or Levy yet' Natsu questioned.
'Yea, they sent a message earlier, apparently there was more than one beast they were meant to take down for the village, so they've been delayed until tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest. 'I see' Natsu answered staring at the twins and Metty, despite the way they were acting now he could tell that all three including Ru-ne and Aisu were tired.
'If you want I'm sure me and Luce can take Metty for tonight, they all seemed to be a bit exhausted and in need of a good sleep or at least a nap somewhere other than a noisy guildhall.
'Really, I think sounds like a nice idea, I think i'm in need of a nap as well, but I can just go to the infirmary since the noise wouldn't bother me as much' Lisanna giggled as she slowly got up along with Natsu after saying their goodbyes, the father headed over the group of kids.
'Nashi, Kai c'mon we're heading home, Metty since your Mum and Dad won't be back till later, and Rippie is with her mother, do you want to come back with us' Natsu offered with a smirk.
'Really yay' Metty cheered with the twins at being able to go to her friends place.
'Then c'mon you three, we better get going' Natsu cheered as they headed out of the building.
After walking down the streets of Magnolia, it wasn't until they had reach the outskirts of the city when Natsu smelt a familiar scent and smiled as he heard the voice.
'NATTTSUUUUU' Happy called as he flew down towards the group of four.
'Happy' Everyone cheered as the blue exceed stopped in front of them.
'Hey buddy, how you been and where Charle' Natsu questioned noticing the exceed was alone.
'She kept getting moody, so I thought i'll leave for a bit' Happy whined as the group continued walking while Natsu shook his head.
'You know that's probably only going make her more angry buddy' Natsu replied shaking his head at the cat's clueless.
'Maybe but maybe she'll also get better' Happy answered before flying over to Nashi and Metty who were walking ahead while Kai was to Natsu's left trying to catch a dragonfly, while Natsu was making sure none of them got too far from him.
They had continued to walk along the forest path for a few minutes longer before reaching the large clearing just before their house, while Nashi,Kai and Metty continued playing, Natsu has slowed down along with Happy who was still by the girls. Natsu tensed as he thought he saw something running in the woods by the clearing along with strange sounds something was wrong.
He was about to call out the twins and Metty to get back closer to him, but before he could he felt a huge mass of weight crash into him. Fortunately Natsu was able to react quickly and was able to steady himself to stare straight at the large Wyvern that had knocked him down.
'Shit' He swore as more emerged from the forest line looking at the ready to attack, sparing a glance to his left he saw that Happy had placed himself in front of the girls his fur prickling in a defensive manner while Kai was further from them completely frozen as the large creatures bounced from one foot, seeing the slayer distracted two went towards him almost catching Natsu off guard as he at the last moment turn and launch a 'Fire Dragon's Iron fist' successfully knocking one back into another before another one ran towards the girls 'Don't even try, Fire Dragon's Roar' Natsu roared before landing in front of the group of three 'Happy can you get both of them out of here' He growled.
'Aye' The exceed agreed as he grabbed onto both of the scared girls and carried them high up before heading in the direction of the guild, as soon as Happy had grabbed the two Natsu launched another attack at a Wyvern who tried to follow them before turning on his heel and heading in Kai's direction who was to far for Happy to safely grab. Pure panic rushed through him as he saw a wyvern lunged for the boy, shit, dammit, no Natsu continuously cursed in fear, he was to far to stop the oncoming attack aimed at the trembling boy.
'KAI' It was all Natsu could do was yell out his son's name hoping that something would stop the attack as he continued running as fast as he could. Hearing the shout Kai snapped out of his panic and looked forward still fearful and scared.
'No' he whimpered crying in fright as an unknown feeling of energy began to stir within him while the beast came closer and was about to hit.
'NO!' He shouted as the unknown energy bursted forwarded in a blast of golden light and was strong enough to knock the wyvern back who was immediately hit in the side by a blast of fire as Natsu skidded in between the beast and his son.
'Don't you fucking dare' He growled in pure anger, with a roar he lit his fist and punched it into the ground causing a flame wall to arise, momentarily stopping the assault, before he quickly turned around.
'Daddy' Kai whimpered wobbling before falling to the ground.
'Kai' Natsu shouted in concern before moving quickly catching the boy on his arm before he hit the ground. 'Kai' he shouted worried as the boy was unconscious and he didn't know what was wrong with him. Natsu was in a panic he didn't know what that light just was nor why the wyverns were suddenly attacking this wasn't part of their territory or had anything provoked them, turning to the hissing sounds Natsu saw that the wall of fire had begun to die down and the group of Wyverns were beginning to advance on the two, growling Natsu held Kai closer to him trying to figure out his best options considering he was surrounded and now had to make sure Kai stayed out of danger, it wasn't until the wyverns were closer did he noticed a younger one that was bleeding from a cut, more specifically a cut that was shaped like the guild mark of Blood Rose, Natsu narrowed his eyes dangerously as he realized that this was a set up done by the dark guild and was the reason why the beast were attacking. At that moment the leader jumped towards them and Natsu prepared to defend his son no matter how badly it ended for him, suddenly the wyvern jumping was knocked back by a gush of water while a swirl of wind hit the others.
'Natsu-san are you and Kai ok' Wendy called as she ran towards them with Juvia by her side her arms covered in water ready to attack.
'Wendy and Juvia had just got back from our mission when Happy informed us, we came straight away' Juvia spoke not tearing her gaze from the monsters.
At seeing the additional mages and the amount of magic energy flowing from them the leader Wyvern roared before turning and leaving with the others.
'Juvia will go make sure they leave the area' The water women stated before chasing after the group.
'Wendy, I need you now' Natsu yelled falling to his knees cradling Kai to his chest shaking while looking for any injuries on unconscious boy.
'Natsu what happened?' Wendy asked as she rushed over to them instantly activating her magic on Kai.
'I don't know, one went after him and this burst of light appear kinda like Lu...' Natsu paused wide eye, while Wendy signed in relief.
'Natsu...it's ok Kai's not hurt, I think that light was'
'Magic' Natsu finished 'That light was a form of celestial magic' Natsu whispered looking down at the boy.
'Yes, by the looks of it he fainted due to using too much magical energy, after resting he should be fine' Wendy smiled in relief, as well as Natsu who let out a relieved laugh as he stood up.
'Wendy I'm going home, would you like to come with' He muttered walking forward.
'Yea thanks for the invite' Wendy agreed knowing that he wanted her there in case something else was wrong.
Many hours had passed since the incident in the clearing. Kai was placed in his parents king bed while Both Natsu and Lucy sat next to him with Nashi sleeping in Lucy's lap and Happy curled up against his head. Kai had briefly woken up a little afterwards the attack and was now just sleeping peacefully in the bed however the two parents couldn't find any peace, both still riled up and shocked about what happened.
'At least we know that Kai can definitely use magic now' Lucy stated breaking the silence.
'Yea but I hadn't seen anything like that before, it was like your celestial magic when you make it physically but different' Natsu silently spoke deep in thought before a small familiar light shone.
'If a may interrupt' Loke spoked as he appeared.
'Loke, hey, wait do you have an idea' Lucy greeted her spirit silently while Natsu listened in.
'Well it's possible that what Kai used was a physical form of celestial magic that was made possible due to Natsu's magic being physical based' Loke finished.
'So like a magic hybrid' Natsu suggested knowing that while uncommon this sought of thing was possible.
'Yea but celestial based so he won't be able to use fire' Loke added as the parents mulled on the idea.
'That does make sense, thank you Loke' Lucy smiled weakly.
'Always a pleasure princess' Loke playfully bowed before disappearing.
'You still worried' Lucy asked looking to Natsu.
'Lucy, if Kai didn't use his power then I' He stopped as Lucy leaned over and pulled her husband into a hug being mindful of the girl in her arms.
'shh, it's ok, everything's ok now, the guild is on lockdown for now and we need to be more careful for now' Lucy spoke softly carefully adjusting them so they were all laying down onto off the bed.
'Lucy I promise I won't let anything like this ever happen again, I WILL protect all three of you' Natsu promised with a serious face, while Lucy at first stunned smiled softly.
'You always have Natsu' Lucy stated before kissing him on the forehead before settling down for the night.

So tension with Blood Rose is beginning to rise with their attacks starting. I do apologize if Erza is out of character I do find her a bit hard to write.
Again I'm sorry for my absents i'll try to update faster next time, especially with things beginning to get more serious.
