Sooo hey guys, I know that it's been a long time since the last chapter was publish, and I am really sorry about that. I don't really have an excuse or a reason I just lost motivation for a while and found it hard to want to write at all.
But now I'm back with more Little Light, to any new reader's thank you for reading my fic and a big thank you to anyone who's returning. I am also going back to re edit some of my older chapters.
This chapter is set two months after 28.
Nashi and Kai – six.
Metty is five.
Aizu – recently turned four.
Ru-ne – is also four.
Despite the current situation with Blood Rose the mood at the fairy tail guild hall had yet to be affected, being the stubborn guild it was, no one was going to let the threat dampen there fun. Especially when they also had the young ones to think of, who at this current moment were all located within the hall, however not all of the parents were present at this time being. After the Wyvern attack Blood Rose had continued to make their presence known, with several attacks ranging from small theft to planned and strategized ones similar to the Wyverns, each time they managed to elude Fairy Tail leaving behind only a blacken red rose and their signature guild mark as if they were taunting them. Everyone was growing increasingly frustrated and nervous knowing that an attack on the guild itself was bound to happen soon. In order to maintain control over the situation Makarov and Laxus had agreed on sending out teams of mages to patrol while having every current Fairy Tail Mage sign in and out of the guild at set times to ensure everyone's safety. Currently three teams were out on patrol with the first consisting of Natsu,Lucy and Juvia while the second was Raijinshu minus Laxus but with Elfman and lastly the third team had Gajeel,Wendy, Romeo and Jellal whom seemed more than relieved at the opportunity to spend some time away from his pregnant cake consuming wife. Ezra however has expressed nothing but displeasure at the guild stating that just because she's almost four months pregnant doesn't mean she can't fight or patrol, while the already mothers just laughed it off while 'welcoming her to the club'. However the redhead was included in the home base team which involved planning, strategizing, keeping everyone safe and most importantly making sure the children remain happy and protected, after previous incidents no one in Fairy Tail wanted their precious next generation to suffer the childhoods they all had, filled with violence,loneliness and pain. Ironically enough the current main occupants of the home team for the day were the ones who grew up within the guild being the mentioned red head, Gray, Levy, Cana, Laxus and the Strauss sisters. The Cornwell Family were located upstairs by the Windows scouting for any possible sneak attacks.
It was late afternoon and Gray, Erza and Warren we're currently seated in one of the guilds booths which had a large map of Magnolia spread out, consisting of red pins where attacks had already occurred in an attempt to trace a pattern, as well as mini ice sculptures of each field member helping to track their movements and locations. Levy was seated at her signature table filled with books. To Metty and the other children it looked as if her mother was just reading away as usual, however what they didn't know was that the solid script Mage was using what little evidence they had to guess what kinds of magic the members of Blood Rose possessed in an attempt to give the guild an advantage should a conflict between the two guilds arise.
Laxus along with Master silently watched over the guildhall from the rails of the second floor, Makarov silently chuckled to himself as he watched Nashi and Kai run around the tables holding up a large red dragon plush between the two of them, that Juvia and Mira had made together as a previous Christmas gift. The two children were 'roaring' as they chased Ru-ne, Metty and Aizu who was being pulled along by the steel blue haired girl as they ran away from the 'oh so fearsome dragon'. Laxus attention however was aimed at his wife who held their tiny two month old daughter and the newest addition to the guild within her arms as she chatted away with her sister from her seat on a barstool. As the Lightning slayer looked down at the small baby he gave a soft smile, he still remembered how surprised everyone was when they're child came out as a girl since doctors had said that they were expecting a boy, but to them it didn't really matter except for the fact that they hadn't really thought of any female names, after a lot of back and forth banter and having their baby go two full days without a name they finally settled on the name 'Kira' ,none of them remembered where the name came from just that once it was mentioned it just fitted the young infant. Kira was born with pale skin similar to her mothers, she also had what appeared to be snow white hair but in the right light it seemed to shine a pale shade of blonde, she had also inherited her father's brown eyes. After observing his baby, the Mage turned his attention to Mira who after handing Lissana a freshly warmed bottle of milk and had also tossed Cana her own special 'bottle'. The card Mage was trying to use her cards in an attempt to predict any movements but so far had been unsuccessful. A high pitched squeal quickly caught the lighting slayers attention as he turned his head with a frown to where Nashi along with the other children was standing, he released a sign of relief as it seemed the kids were just having one of their more or less 'pointless fights' about something being unfair or not in the made up rules they had.
"You can't do that" Nashi expressed pointing an accusing finger at Ru-Ne while her other hand was supporting the toy dragon's front body on her head.
"Who says I can't' Ru-Ne "maturely" responded.
"Yea, Ru-Ne's daddy can make invisible walls so why can't he" Metty added with her little hands on her hips.
"Because he can't do it" Kai added stepping forward bringing the dragons back body with him, only to be gently moved backwards by Aizu.
"Sorry Kai, but Ru-Ne's thing says no dragons" the youngest of the group spoke softly stepping backwards outside the pretend barrier marked by a crack in one of the floorboards the blonde looked back at Ru-Ne
"Well how do you know that you'll be able to use you daddy's magic" he questioned.
"Yea what if you get your mums instead" Nashi stated loudly with a smirk as she dropped the dragon to cross her arms, not noticing how her brother had stumbled at the sudden extra weight, be forced to drop the toy as well in order to maintain his balance, this cause several small chuckles from the older members who were watching the so call fight as Kai sent his sister an angry glare which she ignored.
"Cause Metty told me that I would be getting Daddy's magic" Ru-Ne declared as Metty smirked at the recognition, at the mint haired boys statement all of the other guild members had immediately stopped their previous actions all with curious and confused looks questioning how the girl could predict such a thing, while Levy closed her current book watching her daughter with a confused and concerned frown.
"Wow really Metty" Nashi exclaimed in an impressed surprise voice previously forgetting the fact that she was just angry at the girl who was now proudly smirking showcasing her small fangs.
"Ah huh, just like how I can tell that Aizu will use ice magic" Metty finished with a cocky smile. At this Gray now watched on with full attention wondering how Gajeel's daughter would know this, while the rest of the guild was beginning to question if Metty by chance possessed a magical gift, in the midst of all this no one has noticed Cana change her cards around nor how said tarot Mage seemed to be trying her best to restrain a fit of laughter.
"Well then what about you Metty, do you know what magic you'll use" Kai asked a look of wonder on his face, Nashi and Ru-Ne watched they're friend with wide eyes waiting for her response, while Aizu just looked down with a small frown on his face, which did not go unnoticed by his father.
"Why I'll use both mummy's and daddy's magic of course" Metty bragged as she laughed while the rest of the guild looked shocked at this statement, exactly how powerful could Metty potential be. While the rest of the adults responded in shock, Levy had a different reaction to her daughter's statement.
"Oooook" the script mage said loudly dragging out the O, as she stood up and walked towards the group of children before picking her daughter up. 'Metty sweetheart, could you please tell me how you know what magic you guys will use?' Levy asked in a sweet motherly voice while everyone else leaned in anticipation as the girl in question looked up at her mother still wearing her proud smile.
"It's easy to tell mummy, I thought everyone else would've known as well' seeing at how her mother still looked a bit confused the five year old continued 'it's because of our hair Gi-hi" she finished with a innocent laugh.
"WHAT" almost everyone excluding the kids shouted before falling over in shock, as Levy stared at her daughter with a look of bewilderment.
"Umm ok, can you me why you think that" the mother slowly asked.
"Well it's because Nashi has pink hair and can use fire magic and Kai's hair is blonde and can use celestial magic that's kind of like Lucy's, and Natsu has pink hair, so because mine is steel blue I'll be able to learn both iron and book magic" the girl explained happily unaware of the adults reactions which was a mixture of slight annoyance or amusement at the child's logic. Levy just continued to stare at her daughter with a dumbfounded look before signing with a soft smile as she kneeled downwards to match the height of the kids, with Metty now resting in her lap, as Gray, Erza and Mira had decided to make their way towards the group.
"Metty sweetie, firstly it's called solid script magic not book magic ok" Levy started sweetly before making sure she has all of the kids attention 'secondly that's not how magic works, it's a lot more complicated than that ok guys' the bluenette finished with a smile.
"So then it's not connected to our hair colour" Kai asked turning his head slightly, emerald green eyes wide with curiosity.
"Sorry kid, but it isn't" Gray answered giving the blondes hair a small ruffle before turning to stand by Aizu.
"So does means I won't get to use daddy's magic" Ru-Ne looked up at his mother with worry look, who offered a soft look as she picked him up.
"Who knows Ru-Ne maybe one day you'll be able to uses dads rune magic, or my take over magic, or maybe you'll use a totally different magic, it's all up to what you want to learn if you want to use magic of course" Mira finished as she bopped the boy on the noise causing him to laugh slightly forgetting about his worries.
Kai turned to his sister noticing that she hadn't said anything in a small while which to him was weird since she was the more talkative one of the two, it seemed as if she was in her own world as she stared at the abandon dragon plush.
"Nashi?" He questioned silently trying to get her attention, the small question caught the attention of the surrounding parents as they also looked at the young Dragneel with mild concern at her unusually still form. Suddenly a huge grin broke out on the girl's face as she turned to her brother excitedly.
"Kai do you know what this means, if we swap our hair colours then I'll be able to use mummy's magic and you can see how cool using fire is" she screamed excitedly.
'"...was she even listening just now" everyone thought as they stared at the youngest Mage.
"Ehh but Levy just said" Kai had started before being cut off by his sister.
"And then because there are magic lacrima that can change hair instantly we can learn both and become the strongest" Nashi screamed happily grabbing both of Kai's hands who was now smiling at the idea completely forgetting what the adults just said about magic not working like that.
"If we master both and become the strongest mages then we can beat all the baddies and go on the best adventures" Kai exclaimed grinning back at his sister, both of them now lost in their own little world imagining the possibilities together.
"They're totally ignoring all logic and reasoning" Levy dead panned in an amused voice as she watched the two causing Mira and Erza to chuckle.
"No doubt they're definably Natsu's kids" Erza joked.
"What you mean with how they're basically ignoring logic and using their own" Gray added with a teasing smirk.
"Well as least they have Lucy's creativity" Mira finished as amusement ran through the guild.
"I don't get it" a small timid voice added, looking up at Gray.
"don't worry Aizu, it's a grown up joke ok' the father answered softly watching the young boy nod 'good now c'mon your looking rather tired" Gray finished as he picked Aizu up and began to walk back to the table with the map.
"Not really" the boy replied in his quite voice resting his head against hits fathers chest, eyes half opened, evidence that the just four year old was lying.
"Hmm ok then" Gray mused as he sat at the booth with his son in his lap as Erza sat on the other side looking at the pair.
"He really has taken after Juvia a lot mood wise" the scarlet mage stated fondly remembering how timid and quiet the water Mage was when she first joined the guild, well at least when she wasn't obsessing over Gray or threatening a love rival, the only difference is that Aizu seems to choose to be soft natured and isn't as timid as he may come across.
"Yea" Gray simply replied recalling Juvia's old self, while also wondering how Aizu could be so quite when growing up with such a noisy guild especially when flame brains spawn are almost always with him in the guild. The two soon returned to work as Warren approached them with an update from the patrol teams.
Mira and Levy had watched the interaction between Gray and Aizu before both mothers turned back to the twins who were still excitedly lost in their own world together as the talked back and forwards waving their arms around as Ru-Ne and Metty stared at them unsure on how to react, noticing this Levy acted.
"Hey Metty would you like to look through some magic books with me" she offered laughing as her daughters eyes grew wide while nodding enthusiastically before the pair went back to the table. Following the small mages lead Mira decided that it was time to get back to work, while still holding her son, the takeover Mage gave one last glance the twins before heading back to the bar, placing Ru-Ne in the bar stool next to her sister so that they boy could get to know his new baby cousin better.
For the next ten or so minutes the guild hall had remained peacefully quiet, however by now everyone knows that it never last that long in Fairy Tail.
"MIRA!" Two young voices shouted out together, said barmaid looked up to see a blur of yellow and pink run towards her direction, it had seemed that the two siblings had decided to re-join the real world again.
"Yes" Mira replied simply as she began to stack some plates.
"Can we have the hair lacrima" Kia asked excitedly bouncing on the spot, causing the demon Mage to freeze.
"What?" she questioned the two.
"Oh, sorry, can we Please use the hair lacrima" Kai corrected himself thinking his lack of please was the reason for Mira's reaction.
"Yea we know you have one, mummy says you keep one in the guild for
inco...incogn..umm" Nashi interrupted before trailing off looking down in concentration
"Incognito" Mira offered kindly.
"Yea that, missions where you have to look different" the pinkette finished.
"But dad says that they can also be used for fun stuff to, like playing ninjas" Kai added
"Sooooo..." Nashi started looking at Kai.
"CAN WE PLEASE USE IT" the pair asked in unison leaning forward as Mira gave an amused frown.
"Is this still about your hair colour relating to magic?" She questioned at which both of the children nodded 'you know it won't work though' she added with a frown, resting her head on her hand worried about disappointing the two especially when they looked so happy.
"Of course it will work" the two insisted replying in unison again.
"Persistent, positive and stubborn very much like their parents" Mira smiled at her thought.
"Besides even if it doesn't work, how else would we know without trying" Kai added as Mira gave a fake sigh.
"Alright then, if you two insist on this so much then I guess I have no choice but to let you try, just don't let your parents know it was me" Mira beamed as the twins whooped and cheered at their small victory while Mira moved around the bar to a small locked cupboard, once opened it was filled with several basic magic lacrima that were often helpful on missions. "Alright, now I want you two in the middle of the guild hall where's there's the most empty space ok"
"Yes Mira" the two replied saluting before bolting to the middle of the hall bouncing excitedly on the spot almost unable to maintain their nerves and excitement. By the time the two Dragneels had reached there designated spot they were once again the centre of attention both beaming as they watched Mira walk over holding a circular lacrima.
"right, before we start I need to explain how the rules' Mira started firmly making sure she had both sets of eyes on her, before continuing 'number one, I have given the lacrima enough of my power so that each "transformation" will last only 12hrs, unless it is manually turned off got it" the silver haired Mage stopped to watch as the children nodded "secondly to get the precise colour we want I'm gonna need a few strands of each of you or your parents hair" Mira finish trying her best to stay "serious" as both Nashi and Kai pulled slightly scared faces at the idea of one of their hairs being pulled out, briefly remembering to when she was their age, before she had the responsibility of being an older sister or a Mage, there age where any sort of pain no matter how small was viewed as the worst, after a few moments the takeover Mage decided to continue 'fortunately for you guys I just so happen to already have a some of your mum and dads hair' she beamed holding up a couple of small glass cases marked Natsu and Lucy.
"Ummm Mira exactly why do you have some of flame brains and Lucy's hair" Gray called out with mild concern.
"Hmmm oh it's part of the leftover items, I have from my good old match making days, don't worry about feeling left out though I have something from almost every guild member" Mira innocently replied ignoring the applaud and disgusted looks she was receiving, while Master chuckled and Laxus just smirked.
"Mira exactly what type of dark crap were you trying to do back then" Erza started pulling out a sword ready to fight for everyone's innocence, only to be perplexed as her old rival laughed.
"Haha ok ok, relax guys" the takeover Mage started holding her hands up "these are just from the guilds files, we make sure to keep some sort of DNA recognition for each guild member in case of an enemy attempts to fools us with their own transformation or disguise, although having access to it did help me out with my match making" Mira finished muttering the last part to herself with a smirk
"Mirrrrrraaaaaaaaa" a slightly annoyed whiny voice started, catching said mages attention as she instantly realised that she had momentarily forgotten about the two kids
"Oh dear sorry Kai and Nashi, I got a bit distracted, thirdly for this to work I'll need to put in the settings before handing it to you where you will then press this big button here which will activate the transformation, upon this you guys may feel a small tingle but don't worry it doesn't hurt, it's similar to when you shiver from the cold and now for the final rule unfortunately I can't do you both at the same time so one you will have to wait to the side for a few minutes OK" she finished as the fire and pseudo-celestial Mages looked at each other.
"I want to go first "they both shouted in unison before glaring at one another
"Nah uh, I'm going first" they had again spoken at the same time still glaring.
"It was my idea so I go first" Nashi stated crossing her arms, glaring at her brother who looked at if he was about to retort before Mira stepped in quickly, bending over to their height.
"Ok, Kai, this was Nashi's idea so it's only fair for her to go first understand" she spoke softly to the now pouting boy.
"OK" he muttered "but she can't try any attacks before we're both ready" he added before walking off to the side near where Laki and Reedus where watching.
"I think that's fair don't you Nash?"
"I won't, celestial promise" The pinkette answered while trying to hold her excitement as she watch Mira fidget with the lacrima before looking up as it began to faintly glow as she gently passed it to the excited girl.
"OK ready Nash I'll count you down...3...2...1" Mira counted finished just as Nashi pressed lacrima.
Nashi unconsciously winced as her world was temporally blinded by a bright light that originated from the device in her hand, just as the light began to fade she felt the tingle Mira had describe, smiling as she was relieved that it did in fact not hurt at all, but the smile faded into a small frown as she realised, she didn't feel any different, looking up she heard several small gasp and awes as the light fully faded. Slowly the young girl moved her hands to grab a handful of her hair pulling it ribbons out and bringing it to the front of her face, eyes widening when she saw yellow instead of her usual pink, it had worked.
"Mira, Kai, everyone it worked" she yelled happily giddily running around the area before running up to Mira "thank you "she beamed at her 'aunt' while Kai joined them.
"Oh my god you look so adorable like a tiny Lucy but with emerald eyes" the squeal was all the warning the temporary blonde got as she was suddenly engulf in Mira's arms being swung back and forward.
"OK Sis I think that's enough" Lisanna laugh as she gracefully stole Nashi from sisters arms an art in which Freed and herself had become masters at considering how often they had to save poor Ru-Ne from overly affectionate mum attacks, before placing the girl back down who was instantly admired and complemented on her new hair, with most stating how much more closely she resembled Lucy.
"Lis, where's Kira and Ru-Ne?" Erza questioned as she re-joined the group.
"In the guilds nursery, It was getting a bit too noisy out here for Kira and Ru-Ne wanted to stay with her" Lisanna paused with a soft smile "don't worry though Laxus is keeping an ear out for them and Alzack and Trent are watching them, Alzack came down saying that they were taking a brief break to gather their senses, butttt I think Trent and Asuka may have gotten into a sibling argument again" she finished as the others nodded turning back to Nashi "she does look a lot like Lucy just with a few differences obviously from Natsu, I'm actually rather excited to see what Kai will look like"
"Yea I wanna see what I'll look like as well now" Kai interjected as Nashi broke off from the small crowd and rushed over to him
"And I want to try and use my new powers" Nashi added happily as the adults stood up.
"Of course, now same as last time Nash can you go wait by the side and Kai come stand in front of me" Mira started as Lisanna walked Nashi to the side as the rest of the adults looked on with curiosity, while Mira passed the lacrima to Kai and counted him down before he pressed the button and the half was again engulfed in lights. As the shine began to fade everyone gasp at what they saw.
"Holy crap".
"Woah".
"Omg".
Was the general response, while Nashi may have looked similar to Lucy, those in the guild never actually saw her as a child, but Natsu on the other hand they grew up with and as they looked at the boy in front of the now with salmon pink hair like his father, apart from the eyes they swore there was no difference between the dragon slayer and Kai, to some it felt as if they were taken back to their younger guild days.
"I can't, I mean, how didn't I ever notice before" Lisanna stutter as she looked at Kai who was currently occupied being excited over his new look.
"But he, I mean with blonde hair, there had always been the similarities but now it's like there exactly the same" Mira added.
"If I didn't actually see his hair changed, I would've sworn that I've may have finally had too much booze" Cana muttered still nursing her bottle before looking up towards the second floor of the guild "hey guys you should check out the Master" the card Mage shouted with a smirk, causing everyone to turn to see the fairy Tail master turning pale.
"Oi gramps you doing ok" Laxus asked turning to his kin, breaking the old man out of his trance.
"Urgh yea I'll be fine just having some scary flashbacks...so much damage and fire" the man whispered.
"Err mum?" Metty questioned as the book she had been viewing was pulled away from her site, glancing upwards she saw her mum had for some reason gathered all of the books on the table so that they were in front of her while the bluenette was sheltering them within her arms, with the words from her daughter, Levy quickly realise what she had done.
"Hahaha sorry sweetie" Levy nervously laugh as she handed the book back 'mum was just acting on an old reflex' the Mage finished "so many lost and burnt or frozen books, and I never got to finish some of them" she thought to herself crying on the inside as she remembering her childhood in the guild fill with trying to protect her books from everyone. Noticing that neither had said a word after their initial reaction the bluenette turned her attention towards Gray and Erza half expecting Gray to feel like fighting the poor boy on instinct with Erza trying to stop him, however while currently apart, both shared the same soft happy expression as many different memories of their younger days flashed in their minds.
"Mira did it work? Or did something go wrong" Kai questioned noticing everyone was looking at him and acting weird while he was trying to pull his short spiky hair down to peak at the colour, making an annoyed face as the boy realised his hair was too short.
"Eh? Oh umm yea Kai it worked completely see?" Mira replied as she pulled out a pocket mirror showing the young Dragneel his new look. Said boy's eyes widen as he took in his new look.
"Wow it's really pink now, just like dads, but why is everyone looking so weird" he excitedly exclaimed before questioning the adults
"Kai! You don't think the lacrima accidentally broke everyone" Nashi yelled as she ran up to her brother leaning on her toes as she used his shoulders to support her arms causing the boy to slightly fall forward at the sudden weight before sporting a horrified look, as Mira laughed shaking her head in a light-hearted manner.
"Hahaha its ok you two, I guess everyone is just shocked at how you both look now" Mira laughed as she gently ruffled each of their brand new hair colours as Erza walked towards the small group.
"I agree with Mira, with having your hair colours swapped you've both look so similar to your parents, I believe everyone is staring or looking "weird" as you to say because it brings back memories from when we were all kids" Erza smiled as the twins looked around thinking about the reequips mage's words before a smile broke out across Kai's face as he looked back into the mirror the takeover Mage was still holding up.
"So if changing my hair makes me look even more like Dad than I should defiantly use cool fire like him too" he finished throwing a fist in the air excitedly.
"And then that means I'll be able to use mummy's magic as well' Nashi added excitedly shuffling from toe to toe 'C'mon Kai I'm wanna use celestial magic" she shouted before skipping a few steps away bouncing excitedly more than ready to start.
"Ahh yea I can wait to use fire and say dad's favourite line" Kai enthused while also moving in position mimicking his sisters so that they were both standing next to each other while facing forward so that their attack will go straight and not hurt anyone nor damage the guild.
Erza gave the two a small sad smile as she saw how excited and convinced they were about being able to use each other's magic, she was unsure as to why Mira would play along with the idea when everyone already knew that outcome won't be in the twins favour, but as she observed the guild the mood has seemed to have lifted as the Dragneel twins acted on their curiosity. Turning to her long-time friend she noticed how the white haired mother looked visible more relaxed than she had been in the last few days, that's when she got her answer to her own question even though it was small, creating this set up had provided a distraction for everyone letting them forget just for a moment the looming threat of Blood Rose in favour of letting kids to just be kids and enjoy themselves. The scarlet Mage allowed her smile to widen as this realisation came over her walking to position herself between the twins catching their attention.
"Ok than both of you listen up now" Erza stated with a slight demanding tone causing Nashi and Kai to straighten showcasing slight fear as the pregnant Mage spoke to them. "Good now before we start I want to cover a few things understand" she continued.
"Yes" both Nashi and Kai immediately stiffly replied.
"Yes what?" The Mage questioned while the two looked confused.
"Ummm pleased?" Kai hesitantly replied not knowing what Erza wanted but knew that most times that's the word adults wanted meanwhile several of the guild members looked on in horror at his reply fearing that the boy may have accidentally summoned demon Erza. Erza let out an amused sigh much to everyone's relief.
"Right I see both Natsu and Lucy have neglected to teach you proper members, Natsu I've would've suspected but not Lucy" she paused before turning her attention back to the twins. "Yes Ma'm is what I want ok" she finished facing them.
"ohhh yes Ma'm" they shouted in unison.
"Good, now firstly I want you two to keep your positions facing forward away from anyone"
"Yes Ma'm"
"Secondly to make this better I want you to both to have something to shout as you use your magic" she smiled as a small laugh ran through the guild at the minor sillyness. "So do you both have something to say" she questioned.
"Yes Ma'm" Kai giggled as he knew exactly what he wanted to say while Nashi hesitated before she answered.
"Good now thirdly I want you both to know that there is still a chance that you won't be able to use each other's magic" Erza finished feeling slightly guilty knowing that this wasn't going to work, despite that the twins were still determined 'do you understand?
"Yes Ma'm" came their reply both sounding less confident than before but still wanting to continued.
"Right lastly I will count you both down from three so you both go at the same time on one so are you ready?"
Kai sent a nervous glanced over at his sister who had a determined face catching his eyes she gave a small nod with an excited smile easing his nerves.
"Yes Ma'm" both finally replied getting into position.
"Ok ready...three...two...one" Erza's voice grew before coming a shout at the "one"
"Celestialll blasttttt" Nashi yelled holding her arms out as she gathered her magic energy, before shooting out a small blow of flames
"I'm all fired up" Kai shouting shooting an arm forward expecting fire to shoot out while instead a ball of golden light was created before launching forwards.
"What" Kai frowned looking at his hands sending his magic through like his mother has taught him only be disappointed when only a ball of golden glittering energy appeared before fading.
"No, I don't want fire" Nashi growled pushing her arms outwards again 'celestial blast' she roars only again to be met with flames, small tears started in the corner of her eyes "but...but" the girl fretted looking at her hands than her hair before feeling a light touch on her right shoulder turning in that direction she saw her brother staring at her slowly shaking his head looking equally upset.
"Wow you two I've never seen your magic look so strong before" Lissana gushed caching everyone's attention "Ne Mira did you see how strong Kai's celestial magic looked especially since he's only just started using it and Nashi I've never seen your flames look so big" Lissana continued looking amazed almost instantly lifting both Nashi's and Kai's mood. While both Erza and Mira looked on feeling grateful for Lissana's actions as everyone else caught on to what the animal take over Mage was doing.
"Lis you're right I don't think I've ever seen their magic look as awesome as just now" Mira responded cheerfully with a small clap.
"Yea almost as if the different hair colour made them stronger instead" Gray shouted towards the group from his seat at the table.
"Woah you really think so" Kai exclaimed looking up at the adults.
"We don't think so, we know so" Erza added before crouching down as far as her small bump would let her "Your both becoming strong mage's" she added.
"Kai! Kai! Did you hear that" Nashi said eyes wide.
"Yea we're gonna be strong mage's" was his replied as the two celebrated causing everyone else to celebrate which almost became a full on guild celebration as Cana tried to bring out the alcohol before it was put to a halt as Erza quickly switched into her demon persona reminding everyone that they had a job to do and could not afford the time to party before she returned back to the table as the Strauss siblings continued to entertain the twins, everything was just returning back to normal as the guild door opened.
"Hey guys we're back...what the hel..heck" Natsu's voice boomed across the hall before stopping short as he was caught off guard at his children's sudden new appearance. Behind him Lucy stood frozen with an equally confused expression as her husbands while Juvia stopped behind them with a frown.
"Mummy, daddy look we're just like you now" Nashi scream excitedly as she ran towards her parents followed closely behind by Kai, seeing his now blonde daughter running towards him Natsu broke out of his stupor as he bent downwards before scooping Nashi up as Kai ran past heading towards Lucy.
"Yea but we can't use your magic though, but that doesn't matter now because it makes our magic stronger" the boy explained stopping in front of his mother who was still caught a bit off guard as she stared as her son who had pink hair now.
"Wow that's so cool" Natsu finally spoke confusion in his tone evident that he had no idea what the hell was going on as so many questions ran through his mind such as "why are the twins hair different" "what do they mean about not using their magic" "how did changing their hair colour make them stronger" glancing at his wife in hopes of getting some help however her confusion expression dashed that as it was evident she also had no idea, exactly what did the guild do to their kids while they were gone.
"Soo umm kids why exactly your hair like that is" Lucy asked finally finding her words.
"Well we were playing and Ru-Ne was cheating by pretending he could make walls like his dad and then we were fighting cause he doesn't know that he'll use that magic..."
Nashi started from Natsu's arms as she began to recount everything while Kai nodded every now and again. Knowing that this may take a small while before the girl gets to the point Juvia let a small chuckle as she leaned over to Lucy who was just staring at her daughter, gently tapping the celestial mage's shoulder to get her attention.
"Since love rival and Natsu are gonna be busy for a bit, do you want Juvia to report to Laxus "the water Mage whispered into Lucy's ear.
"Yeah that'll be helpful thanks" was her reply as Lucy pasted a small notebook to Juvia to take to Laxus and Master.
Leaving the entrance of the Fairy Tail, the water Mage sent a small wave to her lovely Gray-Sama her face taking a soft look as her eyes caught their lovely adorable son dozing in her husband's arms before continuing across the guild travelling up the stairs making eye contact with the two strong mage's at the stairs railings before the three headed into an office.

"Ok so you both thought that by changing your hair colour than you could use my fire magic" Natsu started looking at Kai standing next to his mother than towards Nashi who was still in his arms 'and that you'll be able to use Lucy's' he finished as the family began to walk to the booth near Erza's, Gray's and Warren's.
"so you had Mira' Lucy started before pausing as she sent a playful annoyed glance at said Mage who had returned to the bar since Ru-ne had left the nursery saying it got boring since Kira did nothing but sleep and wanted to stay with his mother instead, in seeing he gaze Mira returned it with her signature innocent smile. "Use a lacrima to change you hair, but it didn't work" Lucy fished as she took a seat opposite to Natsu and Nashi while Kai sat next to her leaning into his mother's side.
"Exactly but now our magic is stronger look" Nashi stated wiggling out of her dads arms so she was standing by the table before rubbing her arms together gathering warms opening then so a flame sat in her hands before flickering out "see it's never been that big before or has it lasted that long" the pinkette stated proudly.
"And I can do the same but with mine" Kai mimicked summoning his own magic.
"Wow Nashi,Kai that's so impressive" Lucy started with an impressed expressing glancing at Natsu who held a proud face as he watched his children 'we're so proud of you both' The celestial mage finished as she encased her twins in an tight embraced as their father watched on.
"Although you two I hope know that your increased magic isn't just because of your changed hair" Natsu add wrapping an arm around Lucy's shoulders, as two sets of curious eyes looked up at him.
"Huh it doesn't" Kai questioned as he turned towards his sister whose expression was the same as his.
"Well Kai since you and Nashi have started using magic, both of you have been training with your father and myself, becoming stronger and understanding the magic you process, so that amount of magic you used just now is the result of all that training" Lucy explained carefully making sure the young children were listening and judging at how they're eyes widen.
"So does that mean that when the spell goes away and our hair goes back to normal our magic will still be this cool" the current blonde girl exclaimed as she ignited a small flame on her pointer finger before it faded.
"Yup and in time it'll become even cooler like this" Natsu added setting his fist alight.
"Oohhh that's so awesome" Kai cheered "mummy does that mean I'll one day be able to use your golden keys" he asked with a hopeful.
"That's the plan but you're going to be needing a lot more training first mister" Lucy answered ruffling the boy's hair, leaving her hand there for a second as she observed the pink hair. "You know sweetie" she started slowly "I will admit it is weird looking at you with pink hair you look so much like your father" Lucy finished staring at her son.
"I know everyone was saying that earlier and they said Nashi looked like you as well"
The boy answered pointing towards his mother as Natsu turned to them.
"Hmmm yea but somethings missing" the fire slayer started removing his arm from Lucy's shoulders as he moved them to his scarf untangling it from his neck before placing it around his sons. "There now you're like me" he cheered standing next to Kai turning to Nashi to and Lucy 'what do you reckon you two, you can't even tell the difference' he cheered lifting boy with them making everyone else laugh.
"Ohh really well I have to say the noses look a bit different" Lucy teased as she gently booped Kai's noise "although I think two can play at that game don't you think Nashi" she finished turning to Nashi, Lucy gently pulled her blue ribbon from her hair gently tying the girls hair up into a side ponytail exactly like she used to wear her own hair back when she first joined the guild all those years back before picking Nashi up into her arms "see now don't you reckon we're one of the sam"' Lucy finished before whispering into Nashi's ears making her laugh before turning to her father and brother
"And even our noses are the same" Nashi laughed.
"Oh really now, say Kai I don't know about you but I think we more identical than mummy and Nashi" Natsu smirked.
"Yea at least our clothes match" Kai started pointing out at how Nashi was in a dress and stockings while his mother was wearing a shirt, skirt, and boots. The family continued their childish silly banter towards the each other for a while longer. After another few minutes lately Natsu's sensitive hearing picked up a door creaking, turning towards the sound the slayer saw Master, Laxus, and Juvia leaving the office meaning that she had finished giving their report. Noticing that her husband's attention was no longer focused on their "arguing" Lucy turned to where he was looking seeing the same site.
"Yo gramps if everything all good with the report than are me and Luce good to checkout for the night or do you still need us around" Natsu shouted towards the master as he took notice at how late it had gotten knowing that the twins should be getting tired soon. Makarov looked at the small family before turning to Laxus letting him know that it's his decision.
"Natsu you guys should be fine to leave, however I still have my team on patrol and after listening to the report Juvia gave us as well as the other I'm going to send them to follow you from a distance, at this point in time I don't want to take any chances understand" Laxus stated taking control.
"That's more than fair and thanks for watching out for us Laxus" Lucy replied still holding her daughter.
"Ok we'll cya all tomorrow guys" Natsu waved, just wanting to get home for once after the long day.

The night was still as the small family walked home Lucy and Natsu walked together with Natsu holding Lucy's right hand as she walked along the wall, while Kai and Nashi walked a few steps ahead talking amongst themselves. Both parents were taking advantage of the chance to walk home with little worry for the first time since Blood Rose made themselves known, although they would admit it was weird knowing that they being watched and followed from a distance regardless of them being guild members although they were thankful that they kept enough distance to be out of hearing range.
"I've missed nights like these walking home with little care" Lucy signed peacefully glancing up at the clear night sky.
"Yea although don't get to relaxed Luce" Natsu teased with a hint of seriousness as he unconsciously looked around for any trouble only catching a brief glance of Elfman between the buildings.
"Yea" was the reply she gave as the family continue to walk peacefully for a while longer it wasn't until they were reaching the field just outside their little house when Lucy brought their silence "you know at first it was weird seeing Nashi and Kai like with their hair like that, but I have to say if that's how you looked when you were younger than you certainly were a cute kid" she teased knowing that Natsu and Happy didn't particularly enjoy being called cute, she was faced with minor disappointment as Natsu didn't react to the name as he usually does but instead turned to face her as they passed the barrier outside the house once making sure that the kids had entered the home he spoke.
"Well than I can say the same Luce, looking at Nashi today with blonde hair it turns out that you were always beautiful" he smirks leaving a small kiss on their joined hands giving a laugh at Lucy's red face as she blush before shaking her head in amusement.
'Even after all these years he still makes my heart skip a beat' was her last thought before they headed inside giving a small wave goodnight to the group of mage's that were now returning to the guild.

Juvia lets out a soft sigh as she excited the guilds office feeling exhaustion take over her body, between patrolling Magnolia, taking notes on any suspicious activity or people and then having to provide the report to Master and Laxus had really taken its toll however as she descended the stairs glancing around the guild before spotting her adorable son and ever handsome Gray-Sama she decided that the exhaustion was worth it if it meant keeping her special boys safe.
Walking over to the booth with the map, Juvia offered a greeting smile towards Erza and Warren who both returned the gesture before returning their conversation. Reaching the booth the blue haired Mage leaned over towards Gray giving a light kiss on his cheek in greeting before gently removing the dozing Aizu from the man's arms bringing the boy to her chest in a cradling hug.
"Mmmm mum?" Aizu muttered sleepily halt awake looking up at his mother who grinned at him in a welcoming and apologetic manner as she moved to sit down on the bench next to her husband positioning herself next to him while cradling sleepy four year old.
"Hey sweetie" Juvia softly whispered stroking his hair gently as he rested his head on her chest dozing off back to sleep. With Aizu dosing and Gray continuing his conversation about the patrols, the water Mage decided to relax into the seat allowing herself to lean against Gray before resting her head on the back of the seat removing her hand from Aizu's hair to rest on the seat, she slowly closed her eyes listening to the ambiance of her guild before snapping them back open looking down at her free hand only to find it in the icy yet warm embrace of Gray's hand smiling she returned his grip before closing her own eyes again.
It wasn't until a good hour had passed that the water Mage had noticed a fair amount of noise in the guild had died down, opening her eyes to look around she saw that most of the members had left the building glancing at the clock she took note at how it was passed seven 'hmm looks like it's going to be a late dinner' she absentmindedly thought, turning to the right she took note that Warren was no longer at the table and the patrol map only showed Gajeel's team.
"Juvia apologises for interrupting but she is wondering if we'll be needed for much longer, it's getting a bit late for Aizu" the water lady questioned gently shifting her son in her arms hoping that they'll be able to leave soon if it wasn't for the threat of Blood Rose or the current guild rules than she would've already taken the young boy home.
"Yea sorry Juvia we shouldn't be too much longer" Gray answered stroking her hand that he was still holding.
"At the moment we are just waiting on Jellal, Gajeel, Wendy and Romeo to return they are currently making their way back although I do wish Jellal would hurry there is a strawberry cake back at home waiting for my return"' Erza added "actually I think there may be a cake that I left at the bar" the requip Mage thought for a second "if you would excuse me" Erza finished leaving the booth heading to the bar.
"Laxus has already taken control over the Rajinshu so we don't have to worry about them, also don't worry about dinner Mira is making something for us and everyone else in the guild, she shouldn't be too long" Gray finished hovering his free hand over the map allowing the ice figures to disappear since they were longer tracking the groups before settling into a comfortable silence with his wife while they waited for the last patrol to return so they can sign out.
Once a couple more minutes had passed in the silence Gray glanced towards Aizu in Juvia's arms looking away thinking to himself for a moment sending another look the boy his odd actions did not go unnoticed by his wife.
"Hmmm Gray" Juvia questions removing her hand from Gray's gently placing it on his cheek directing his face to hers making eye contact as she silently asked what's wrong, letting out a long breath looking around making sure those who were left in the guild were out of earshot
"Juvia what do you thing about Aizu and his potential magic" he whispered, seeing the water mage's confused expression over his statement the man decides to continue. "Earlier when he was playing with the other guild children, Metty had this bizarre idea that magic was based on hair colour" he couldn't help but give a small chuckle as the amused expression Juvia made at the statement before continuing his voice taking a hint of seriousness "but as she was going on saying what magic they may have but when she got to Aizu's saying that he'll have my ice magic since you know he has my black hair, instead of being excited he just looked down and it looked as him he was frowning and I don't know it just got me thinking, what if he doesn't want to learn magic or what if he'll disappointed if he can use ice magic" Gray started turning away as he finished feeling mild embarrassment and not wanting to look at his wife. Juvia was giving him a soft look as she turned her attention to her dozing son brushing his hair gently.
"It could be something or it could be nothing, but Juvia highly doubts Aizu would be upset if he had ice magic" she stated hoping to comfort Gray. "But you know Juvia feels a bit bad because she finds this funny" finishing her sentence she couldn't help but want to chuckle as the mixed expression Gray was giving her.
"I hope that it's nothing than, but what exactly about this funny though" Gray questioned feeling a bit better than before but is now curious as to what could be funny about this situation.
"Well you know when Juvia first found out that she was starting a family with her Gray Sama, she always thought that she would be the one continuously fretting about her Aizu and every little thing he does but turns out Gray likes to panic just as easily" she teased receiving a mock hurt look from the ice mage.
"Well than Juvia sorry for caring" Gray stated in a pretend hurt voice before being brought into a quick but passionate kiss, pulling away Juvia started talking again.
"But Juvia is still very glad that her Gray-Sama cares so much, however I know that Aizu would never be upset if his magic was the same as yours" switching to first people letting her husband know that she was being serious.
"How can you be so sure about that" Gray asked worriedly.
"Because you don't see how he looks at you whenever you're fighting with Natsu"
"Looks at me?" He repeated raising an eyebrow at this new information.
"Yes" Juvia nodded as she continued to softly pet the sleeping Aizu's hair a peaceful smile gracing her face as he unconsciously cuddled into her "every time you use your ice magic while fighting, he always looks so amazed at it and watches you the whole time, the truth is that he absolutely adores his daddy, just like his mummy does" she finished leaning into her husband, smiling widely at him as he embraced her with one hand curling around her back settling on her waist while the other was placed over her arm that was holding their boy.
"Thank you Juvia, I really needed to hear that" Gray softly answered looking down at his small family feeling a rush of relief and pride through him as he heard how Aizu admired him, before placing a small kiss on her forehead as the family settled back into a comfortable silence.
