Disclaimer: I don't own anything from the Dragonball franchise. They all belong to Akira Toriyama while GT is owned by Toei Animation due to Toriyama having nothing to do with that anime only series despite doing the character designs and artwork for it plus there were a few things I do like about GT but I won't get into all the details. thedarkpokemaster owns his OC Shamano and Martian Tempest is the owner of Tempest, Xeno, Sheila and their respective families.
PS: I am liking the Future Trunks saga a lot and glad the present time Zamasu got what he deserved, which only leaves Future Zamasu and Black Goku (or Goku Black whichever you prefer) to deal with since it is possible that Black may possibly be a God of Destruction (and it was also surprising when they had him transform into Super Saiyan Rose when he and Future Zamasu fought Goku, Vegeta and Trunks in Trunks' Timeline).
Something Worth Fighting For
Tense Moments
By EmperorDraco7
On the Sacred World of the Kais, both Shin and Old Kai were watching the moment between Goten, Trunks and Tapion from Old Kai's crystal ball. Needless to say, the latter is somewhat unimpressed with how the famous hero that the strange old man convinced the Z-Fighters to release. "So this is the hero who the others had set free huh?" began the Old Kai, having a further inspection on the image being shown to him and Shin. "Well at least he wasn't old, but then again he wasn't accidentally fused with an old witch and in all honesty, he sure has a real attitude."
The Kibito Kai remained silent for a brief moment because he had his suspicions on why Tapion is hostile towards the others along with how he didn't look happy about being freed from the music box that Hoi brought to Earth with him, however it's too soon to confirm the details given the darkened glance Videl gave to Hoi. "I don't blame him, from what I have heard… he was not thrilled with being freed from the music box and he took off before Shamano's arrival," he spoke, he and Old Kai were also well aware of what happened to Shamano and how Bulla had become another causality to Baby's dominance in the timeline that Pan originated from, including the way things got worse following Gohan's and Videl's future daughter coming back in time just to warn them about what will happen before dying of her fatal injuries. "Unfortunately, things have gotten much worse with the revelation Shamano revealed when he returned from the terrible future that Pan came from."
"I don't blame him, after all Baby is quite powerful and Vegeta is technically one of the strongest Saiyans in the universe aside from Goku and Gohan," said Old Kai with a shrug, knowing the Z-Fighters are doing everything in their power to train themselves for the eventual arrival of that damned Tuffle Parasite when he strike in the Main Timeline. "Here I thought that Majin Buu was the biggest threat we had, guess I'm wrong…"
Nodding in agreement, Shin only hoped that the hellish events that transpired in that future can be averted in their era and cringed at the thought of Baby ruling with an iron-fist and nobody having the will to oppose him. "The good news is, the Z Sword has not only been restored to its former glory but Gohan and Goten are planning to go into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for some intense training and to make turning into their Super Saiyan 2 forms become natural." he informed his elder, piping the Old Kai's interest upon hearing Gohan taking his rigorous training more seriously.
"Is that so?" he asked Shin, a smile formed on his face as he did see the older Half-Saiyan put an end to Kid Buu's terror during what was believed to be the final battle to decide the fate of the entire universe so if he can become stronger then he may even surpass Goku, the strongest Saiyan out there. "Well glad to hear that he won't be softening up and end up how his alternate timeline self did since it'll take more than just Goku this time to stop Baby."
"Indeed… and Piccolo having fused with his past-life King Piccolo also made him much stronger along with his second time training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber," added Shin, glad that the Namekian Fusion with King Piccolo made Piccolo the complete Nameless Namekian again and how it would aid in the upcoming confrontation to come. "Let's pray that it will be enough…"
"Kiiii!"
Shin and Old Kai were caught off-guard at the sound of a bird coming from above, causing them to look up and saw that it was a bird that they've never seen before. "What is that?" wondered the Kibito Kai, confused by the site of the strange creature and before anything else could be said, they saw it headed in the direction of what appeared to be a pretty young looking female Kaioshin with pinkish-red hair, and pink/purple skin. She also wore a pair of Potara earrings, matching the ones that Shin himself wore, and robes similar to the ones worn by Shin and Old Kai, though it had a more casual design. Her outfit also sported a pair of high heeled boots, which served to compensate for her short stature.
"Hello!" she said, surprising both Kaoshins and made them unsure of how to respond to her… on the other hand, Shin thought she looked kinda cute then immediately shook it out of his head because now wasn't the time to be thinking this.
"Ah… Hello there." he began, not wanting to be seen as rude even though he and Old Kai haven't the single clue on who she was exactly then immediately stood up in order to give her a proper greeting. "May I ask who you are and how you're here on our planet?"
"Oh me I'm the Supreme Kai of Time and I'm here because I saw a time displacement and it was a big one, something I'm not all that happy about." She said with a frown looking at both Old Kai and Kibito Kai.
The two male Kai just looked at each other and both knew full well what she was talking about and knew that this had to do with Pan and now Bulla. "Well you see something bad is coming." Kibito Kai began as he told her what was going on and why Pan had come back in time.
However she was still not pleased by this after all she had no idea on what this might do or have caused as so many knew what was going to happen now, heck Pan had said it best Videl and the others were never meant to leave Earth but die on the planet. "While that may be true you all know that there are still rules." She said with a frown on her face.
"Well you may need to take that up with them as Gohan and Videl and the others are none too pleased right now with what is going on, not only that something else is happened on Earth right now." Old Kai said as he watched what was going on and had a feeling that she would be heading to Earth very soon.
"I know it looks bad but they did help kill Majin Buu and I think that we own them this at least." Kibito Kai said as he saw the pain that both Gohan and Videl where in when Pan had died.
"Well I will need to talk them about this as well." She answered as she looked at Kibito Kai and Old Kai knowing they were going to come with her to get some answers. "Maybe even King Kai if necessary since his planet was restored by now, I mean it was already bad enough that one split in the timeline took place and now another split had occurred?"
Shin and the Old Kai remained silent, having a feeling that she was referring to Future Trunks' previous trips to the past which led to his role in the deaths of Mecha Frieza and King Cold, Goku surviving his Heart Virus, Cell using Future Trunks' alternate self's stolen Time Machine to go to the past when Android 17 and Android 18 were still alive, allowing Cell to achieve his Perfect Form and the events of the Cell Games. "Still, it's been eons since I last saw you, Chronoa" began the latter, causing the former to turn his attention towards the older Kai with him.
"Wait a second, you mean…."
"Of course Shin, when we saw each other she was just a tiny little brat back then!" responded Old Kai before Shin can finish his sentence, then cleared his throat so he can better explain it to the Kibito Kai just so he'll be better informed with hopes that he wouldn't have to repeat himself. "Apparently the Trunks that went back in time from the alternate future he came from had no idea that the act of using a Time Machine to alter the past and prevent his future timeline ended up increasing the number of timelines… which includes the one Pan and Bulla came from."
"Are you serious?!" exclaimed Shin in complete dismay, feeling as if he's having some trouble processing all this with the fact there is another surviving Supreme Kai that Majin Buu wasn't aware of when he killed the other Supreme Kais in the past then saw that strange bird landing on the crystal ball that they've been previously looking through. "And that bird?"
"That's Tokitoki, he's the reason I even got the position as the Supreme Kai of Time in the first place ever since raising him into an adult" answered Chronoa with a stern expression on her face, shocking Shin even more so than ever while Old Kai silently nodded his head with his arms crossed. "Fortunately I am not stupid enough to give him tainted bird seed unlike a certain Turtle Hermit did with his Immortal Phoenix which begs the question… how can an Immortal Phoenix die from food poisoning anyway?"
"We wouldn't know…" responded Old Kai with a shrug, despite the fact the Immortal Phoenix before its death was the reason Master Roshi's immortal, it didn't mean he couldn't die from unnatural causes such as his death in his failed attempt to reseal King Piccolo away using the Evil Containment Wave and then his second death when Super Buu turned almost everyone at Dende's Lookout into chocolate.
"Anyway I need to head to Earth so we can all talk about this Baby that will be coming to Earth." Chronoa said knowing that the ones who had helped needed to know a few things as well, and that knowing what was going to happen was bad.
Shin nodded as he was going to head there anyway and knew she was going to say something to them, he was just not sure what she was going to say to them, but he and Old Kai both knew that she had no idea just who was there right now either.
"Well then…" Chronoa began with a smile as she looked at the two. "Let's head to Earth." She said while Tokitoki landed on her head at that moment. "Why do you always have to do that?" She yelled to Tokitoki.
"Sir I think she doesn't know about Shamano or what his ship can do." Shin began knowing that Chronoa might not be pleased with this or with the fact that Bulma could still have the one that Cell had used to come back in time.
Old Kai nodded but knew that they had very little time to fill her in, so it was best to just wait till they at least got to Earth. Plus Old Kai still wanted that kiss his was promised and never got, and he getting to see more Earth woman as well all he could do was laugh a little while Shin knew what his elder was thinking about and gave a sigh.
Meanwhile on Earth it was already getting late and Bulma was tending to Shamano. "You don't have to do this you know." He said knowing it was hard for the woman seeing her child die like that.
"No I have too I need to take my mind off what happened after all." Bulma said as she gave a light sniff knowing that he needed to be treated from what happened to him. "Videl can you hand be then bandages."
Videl nodded at this as she got the bandages that were on the side as she handed them over to Bulma and looked at Shamano as she saw he was still in pain from losing an arm, everyone was still shocked that he had lost a lot of blood but was thankful that he was holding on. "Here you go Bulma."
Bulma just smiled light at Videl and the younger girl could see the look that Bulma had on her face and knew it was hard for her, after all it happened to her and Gohan as well after all and Videl wished she knew what she could say to her.
Yet Videl was also still worried on what Hoi was up too as she didn't really trust him and why he wanted Tapion freed, as of right now something was telling her that Hoi wanted something and it was nothing good either. "I guess I'll have to wait and see then, I just hope we can all deal with it."
"I hope that the egg you brought back will just work in stopping that monster." Bulma said, cutting Videl off from her thought as she looked up towards the two.
Videl had to admit she hopped that Bulma was right as she still didn't like the thought of what could happen to her and knowing what Pan said that Baby could do then none of them were safe if they had to fight him, at least until they found away to stop Baby from going into their body and stop him from placing an egg in their head.
Both woman tired they eyes at the egg that Shamano had brought back with him and Bulma knew she would be working on this to see what she could do and just how it works. "I hope so, was a bitch to get." he said with a frown knowing it was not good at all with what Baby was doing to every living thing in Pan's timeline.
"We will stop this version of him Bulma no matter what it take we are going to stop him." Videl said placing a hand to comfort Bulma, knowing that she will want to keep her daughter to be safe too and she had a feeling that both Vegeta and Trunks will be doing the same.
"I know what you two are going though as well." Shamano said as both Bulma and Videl looked at him wondering what he was talking about and saw the look that he had on his face. "I had a family as well once a wife, children and grandchildren but that was a long, long time ago." He said with a frown on his face even if he didn't show it the look that he had in his eyes was showing it all he was in pain and missed them.
"And unlike us, you can never see them again." Videl said after all she knew death would come for them all since they were all mortal but from what she knew of Shamano and his people old age didn't kill them.
"Yeah I need to live on, even if at times I don't want to, I've seen a lot more than most have sometimes living the life I have is a curse." He said silently but looked at them both and the egg with hate. "But I will not let some Tuffle scum win and do what he wants."
"I just hope I get a shot at him is all I know Gohan feels the same as well." Videl said with a growl and tightened her fist with anger at what Baby had done to so many lives. "Then he can burn in hell I just wish we could stop him from being born, but we have no idea the Planet he is on right now."
"You will Videl I know Gohan will make sure that Baby will not get what he wants in this time line." Bulma said as she knew he will be stopped, still she wondered how Trunks was doing right now as she heard he and Goten went off to see Tapion.
"I'll say, plus both Sharpner and Erasa are aware of this as well as what's really been happening the entire time," added Videl, she and the raven-haired young man she fell in love with decided not just to reveal the truth to Erasa but also Sharpner since he was still their friend plus the fact he and Erasa remembered the events that transpired despite Porunga erasing the memories of Majin Buu from everyone except the Z-Fighters and their closest friends and families added to this. "We'll need all the support we can get after all, I'm glad Sharpner understands everything even though like with Erasa, it's taking him a lot of time to process this."
With a nod, Gohan knew that Sharpner and Erasa would both be great in helping stop Baby as in a way; they were his and Videl's closest friends from Orange Star High School. "Guess I better be going, I'm still new to using the Instant Transmission though so I need to concentrate in pinpointing the location of the Lookout," he informed Videl, glad that Goku was teaching him and Piccolo on how to effectively use the Instant Transmission. The good thing is, sensing Mr. Popo and Dende wouldn't be a hard thing to do and he took a glance at Mr. Satan's daughter again. "Goten already knows to be at the Lookout, otherwise let him know I'll be waiting for him okay?"
"Okay, just be careful Gohan," explained the raven-haired girl, understanding that it's for the best that Gohan and Goten do their best in mastering Super Saiyan 2 into a natural state… hopefully it won't just be worth it, but it'll also make them even more powerful than they were before. Then noticed something was off, Hoi's nowhere to be seen since Shamano's arrival back in their era and none of the Z-Fighters knew where he went. "If Hoi comes back, I'll keep an eye on him. I still have this bad feeling whenever he's nearby."
Gohan didn't blame Videl for not trusting Hoi, though they don't know all the facts until they find out more of this threat he's been speaking of… something that made them wonder if this wasn't just Baby they'd need to be ready for with the fact the red-skinned old alien having no clue on the Tuffle Parasite or on Majin Buu. Without another thought, he placed his index and middle fingers onto his forehead to help him concentrate on Dende's and Mr. Popo's ki signature in order to lock onto it. "Got it!" he said before vanishing from Capsule Corp.
Shamano watched in slight surprise, it was his first time seeing someone other than Goku use the Instant Transmission… on the other hand, he knew that Goku learned it from the Yardrats as they were the original race to have invented the technique prior to the pure-hearted Saiyan Warrior and later the Meta-Coolers and Super Perfect Cell learning it themselves. "Did I miss something?" he spoke after a brief silence.
"If you mean Gohan finding the time to learn the Instant Transmission?" began Videl, no matter how hard it was to believe herself but in a way it made sense because Gohan wanted to be better prepared to deal with that damned parasite in the next 14 and a half years. "He and Piccolo requested they learn how to use it effectively in battle or otherwise, the problem is they haven't properly mastered it so we don't know how that will go show Earth be attacked beforehand."
"Makes sense, seeing how Goku was the only one able to use it in battle to its full potential so it'll be harder for Gohan and Piccolo due to just having learned it." responded the Trimonight, even if he was still in pain over the loss of his arm it won't hinder him from helping the others in any way he can.
"Not only this but Piccolo merged with his father King Piccolo and Trunks apparently achieved Super Saiyan 2nd Grade and Super Saiyan 3rd Grade." said Videl, still not getting over the fact that there were other stages of the normal Super Saiyan form as she was initially only aware of Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2 and Super Saiyan 3 which the Super Saiyan 3 state was supposed to be the strongest form of Super Saiyan but if that wasn't enough to stop Baby then he's gotta be much more powerful than Majin Buu. Then again, Goku was turned back into a kid in Pan's era so everyone still doesn't know the true extent of the Tuffle Parasite's powers.
"I see, Gohan did mention how Super Saiyan 2nd Grade and 3rd Grade were given their names to differentiate them from Super Saiyan 2 due to the fact the 3rd Grade form is like signing an immediate death warrant given how it slows the user down when using it," commented Shamano with a shrug, being well aware of the negative effects to using the 2nd Grade and 3rd Grade forms. "However, he also brought up how Broly in his Legendary Super Saiyan form managed to easily handle himself against him even in his Super Saiyan 2 state before the 25th World Tournament. He said it was due to him not training for 7 years after the Cell Games and the conflict with Bojack along with the fact Broly got a Zenkai Boost from barely surviving his initial defeat on New Vegeta."
"Don't ever bring up Broly again, he and Spopovich are two people I refuse to remember," said the female teen with a small shiver, knowing how powerful those two were when she fought them and both instances involved her nearly being killed as a result of a losing battle… Broly could make give Spopovich and Yamu a run for their money due to being way more powerful than the two combined. "I'm just glad those two and Yamu stayed dead."
"Indeed, I wouldn't want to tangle with the Legendary Super Saiyan and can understand why Vegeta feared him," added Shamano, hearing how Gohan, Goten and the spirit of Goku used a Family Kamehameha to blast Broly into the sun with some help from Krillin, Trunks and Videl as otherwise the Earth would've been destroyed faster than how Kid Buu eventually did so. "I'm glad Babidi never knew about this, otherwise he would've used his magic to try and turn him into his loyal servant at least until seeing Goku makes him go ape-shit again."
Videl nodded her head, not liking the idea herself given the current circumstances and their dealing with Broly was before the Z-Fighters even found out about Babidi and Majin Buu in the first place then immediately remembered something important. "Oh yeah, I brought a Senzu Bean… one that Gohan had left over from his rigorous training under 1000x Gravity with Goten," she said, revealing a whole Senzu Bean that she had in her pocket although it does have its share of limits such as being unable to heal injuries that have already healed over or cure aliments. "I'm not sure if it will restore your lost arm, but it will heal you up faster since it saved my life after Spopovich nearly killed me at the World Tournament."
Shamano looked unsure at the Senzu Bean that placed into his hand then glanced back at Videl, showing a look of gratitude. "Thanks…" he said, feeling as while it may not regenerate his arm at least he will be better healed which is better than slowly healing in the hospital or in the infirmary of his spaceship and placed the bean into his mouth.
As he ate the Senzu Bean, he waited for a few seconds before its healing capabilities kicked in and much to his surprise… his missing arm was suddenly restored as well which made both Bulma and Videl relieved to see him feeling a lot better with his energy and physical health restored to their fullest. "I guess that answers the theory about restoring missing limbs…" he spoke, giving a light smile and glad to have two arms again rather than living with just one. "Now I can be of better use to you guys since I have two hands to work with, but I still have to say…. my visit to Pan's timeline was worth it despite how worse thing had gotten there."
"Thank god for that, I never thought they would have the ability to restore limbs and I never found out beforehand due to not wanting myself or anyone I cared about to lose part of their body… at least Piccolo won't need it because of his ability to regenerate," Videl spoke up, feeling sorry for Shamano and wanted to see if she could at least help him feel better physically and yet she understood how he felt losing his family in a way…. not wanting to feel the pain again now that she's starting to become close to Gohan and the others. "Gohan, please come back to me once your training with Goten is finished… odds are things might become worse before they get better even before we even get a chance to deal with Baby."
Speaking of Goten and Trunks, they tensed a bit the moment Tapion armed himself with his sword as he still didn't trust the raven-haired boy plus he wasn't exactly thrilled to see that the Half-Saiyan brought someone with him either. "Uh… hi, here you go," began the purple-haired male Half-Saiyan, placing a plate of food onto a steel barrel because he thought Tapion was hungry from being sealed up there for so long and was glad that Goten brought it along after telling him about the warrior that the others freed. "Help yourself."
Tapion remained silent and having his sword placed back into its scabbard the moment he heard that the two boys brought him some food, yet he didn't look at them at all despite this. "You, uh… can't save the world on an empty stomach right?" continued Trunks at a loss of words right now, unsure of how he can interact with the warrior he learned of and frowned as he saw that Tapion wasn't in the mood to talk then figured he and Goten should rejoin the others right away. "Well enjoy… Goten and I will be right outside if you need us."
Then as they left he realized that Goten can't stay for long, causing him to mentally curse at the fact he neglected to remember what his best friend mentioned earlier on the way to this place. "Oh man!" he muttered, having his hand on his forehead and groaned. "I forget that you need to go back as soon as possible"
"Knowing Gohan, he'd probably be heading for the Lookout by now," added Goten, having lost track of time and knew that he needed to meet with his older brother right away so they can start their training as soon as possible for the worst case scenario. "You'll be sure to give Tapion some company, won't you?"
"Yeah, you don't have to worry about me," Trunks replied with a nod, knowing that while they work better as a team, there would be instances when they'd need to handle things on their own so they're not always depending on fusion unless there was no other alternative… but deep down, he and his best friend wondered how they would fare against Gogeta in a real match as Gotenks since both fusions were the result of the Fusion Dance being performed successfully. "Now get going, you don't want to keep your brother waiting!"
Nodding his head, Goten had a feeling that Trunks was right then prepared to take to the skies once again. "Alright, see you later!" he said before soaring off to Dende's Lookout in hopes to begin his training with Gohan in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber without worrying that the door would get destroyed again like when Piccolo attempted to keep Super Buu trapped with Gotenks and himself in an effort to keep the surviving population safe.
Yet right now Trunks wanted to know more of Tapion and who he was since he thought that he was very cool and liked the look of his sword as well. "You know you don't have to stay here you know as I'm sure that my mom wouldn't mind."
Tapion just looked over to Trunks and said nothing to the young child, while Trunks continued to look at Tapion and decided it was best to just wait for an answer, but until he got one he would bring him food that he knew he would need.
The villainous leader didn't know what to do anymore. First he thought to have had the upper hand on the two up-start teens whom have bested them before and sent his men back at them for a measure of revenge. But here he was, watching as his men were almost effortlessly dispatched by said teens, although the two did suffer some injuries of their own. Strangely, it seemed the two not in the least bothered by the few bruises and cuts they got from the battle, as if they were ignoring the pain and worked together as a team to take down their adversaries, using speed and agility to their advantage, going so far as even using the mooks' own sizes against them in a way. Were they freaks or something?! Yeah, that had to be it; they have to be freaks! Usually some trash talking young male was put down with ease, leaving the female at their mercy, but here the case was different!
"No… this is impossible! You two should be at our mercy, not like this!" He exclaimed, causing Tempest to narrow his eyes.
"Your presence alone disgusts me; it shames me that we have to share this planet with filth like you. Then again, your state of mind has already evaporated your common sense, given the way you act." He said.
Xeno nodded in agreement, rolling her head around to pop her neck a bit, before spitting to the side, as if the time she spent training with Tempest has boosted her self-confidence and allowed her to grow a spine, something she could have never done before in the past.
The villainous leader growled, now going mad as he charged at the couple, who narrowed their eyes, cupping their hands behind them and firing a combined Hadouken towards the leader himself, striking him in the chest and sending him flying backwards, causing him to crash against a wall behind him, knocking him out cold. After checking his pulse to confirm that he was still alive, Tempest and Xeno picked the unconscious goon up and tossed him into a nearby trash bin, as if adding insult to injury by putting him through such a humiliating experience, as if to show what he exactly was: trash.
After that, both Tempest and Xeno left, leaving the other goons behind, evidently wanting to clear out before someone else would come by and take things the wrong way. They decided to keep things on the down-low for the time being to get the heat off of them. "I'm surprised we didn't outright kill him…" she said as they went into a park to relax.
"There are some reasons I tend to hold back," Tempest said, "first, the style I'm practicing was meant for self-defense only, so while I have studied a great deal of it, I've still much to learn. Besides, my sensei told that the original style was actually meant for inflicting fatalities on the opponent back when it was more widely practiced. Second, I don't want to stoop down to their level, even though I feel that some people simply cannot learn from their mistakes and have to be dealt with accordingly. I usually tend to leave that to the law enforcement agencies."
"Fair enough." Xeno said, before letting out a sigh.
"What's the matter, Xeno?" Tempest asked.
"I've been getting more on edge lately. It's not because of you; the times I'm spending with you is nothing more than amazing… it's just…" Xeno began, shaking a little.
Seeing as this was something Xeno hated to bring up, Tempest directed her to a bench where they both sat down. Strangely, Tempest didn't make any sudden moves, other than just sitting next to her. "I can tell something is clearly bothering you. If it's not of my business or you just don't want to talk about it, or at least not until you're ready, I understand. I just want you to know that I'm here if you want something off your chest." He said, concern visible in his eyes.
Xeno could tell that there was no sense of malice or mocking in his tone… she found it rather touching that he was genuinely concerned about her, yet left it up to her to make the choice. She was clearly in a mental struggle about wanting to tell him about her past or not, given what she has gone through. For a moment there was a bit of uncomfortable silence. Tempest just looked around for a moment, not wanting to make Xeno believe he was staring at her as if wanting her to tell him what was on her mind.
"It… it's my… 'father'… I'm worried about…" Xeno said, her voice straining a bit at the word 'father'.
Tempest could tell that there was sarcasm at that word, so he remained silent and let her continue.
"Ever since I've come back to life, I found the house empty without him… at first I thought it was the usual thing, 'him' being at work or doing something of his stupid interests… but as he remained absent… I got increasingly paranoid… getting scared out of my mind the longer he was absent… as if knowing he could come back anytime… it even got me little sleep…" Xeno said, her voice low yet audible for Tempest to hear since it's clear that her father was not among those resurrected by Porunga at all which in a way worried her.
Tempest remained silent, deciding to let her speak, but he gently put a hand on her shoulder to show that he was listening.
"All these years I have resented him for what he did to me, making me live in fear for even the littlest things he considered 'out of the line with his vision'… and with these few months without him… I continued to live with that fear… until you showed up… you brought back some happiness into my life, making me enjoy life again… I… just…"
Being torn with her own self-doubt and her current situation, Xeno felt her emotions having bottled up to the max, right before she felt Tempest pulling her into a gentle hug. This sense of comfort as well as him listening to her without even making a comment was more than enough for Xeno to hold Tempest tightly, buried her face within the crook of his neck… and wept, throwing everything she had bottled up out. Tempest didn't expect this, but gently held her close to him, gently rubbing the back of her head, encouraging her to let it all out.
At the Lookout, Dende and Mr. Popo were hoping that everything was alright with the others ever since Trunks had previously finished his training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and surely enough Gohan appeared from out of nowhere thanks to his newly taught Instant Transmission. "Sorry I'm late Dende, still new to using the technique my father taught to me and Piccolo." he informed the young guardian of the Earth.
"Well I'm glad you made it here at least," responded Dende, somewhat surprised that Goku had gone out of his way to teach both Gohan and Piccolo the Instant Transmission, then again he did teach the Fusion Dance first to Goten and Trunks before Piccolo took over in teaching the technique, then Vegeta, Yamcha and Tien ended up learning it in order to aid them for the upcoming confrontation with the Tuffle Parasite that Pan warned them about before dying. "We heard what happened from Shin not long after he, Piccolo and Buu teleported to where you guys were via the Instantaneous Movement…."
"I see…." began Gohan, having a feeling that Shin may have made telepathic contact with Dende and Mr. Popo in order to get them up to date on how worse Pan's timeline had gotten because of Baby infecting almost everyone on the planet into Neo Tuffles and how Bulla, Bulma's future daughter, became another casualty that couldn't have been prevented along with the fact Shamano lost his own arm in a battle. "Goten should be arriving soon so I need to be ready for us to begin our training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber when he's here."
"It makes sense because Piccolo and Trunks each already had a turn in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber earlier which I'm sure you already know by now," added Mr. Popo, understanding where Gohan was getting at because it helped him and Goku become much more powerful before the Cell Games were even announced. "I take it your training under 1000x Gravity with him has gone well."
"Yes it has, which made me glad we had some Senzu Beans from Korrin's Tower before we started the harsh training," answered Gohan with a slight nod, knowing that it's needed in order to help the older Half-Saiyan make up for not training in the past 7 years after both the Cell Games and the events involving Bojack. "The Zenkai Boost did help, which goes to show it can still be useful in life threatening situations though I feel the training might not be enough…."
"What do you mean?" asked Dende, somewhat confused by what his friend was talking about as he saw the stern expression that formed as he reflected on the previous battles he'd been involved in from Raditz, to Vegeta and Nappa, to the Saibamen, to the Ginyu Force, to Frieza, to Garlic Jr and his Spice Boys, to Cooler and his Armored Squadrons, to the Androids, to the Big Gete Star, to Paragus and Broly, to the Cell Games, to Bojack and his Galaxy Soldiers, even to the 25th World Tournament, Dabura and Majin Buu.
"I'm saying that it's time that Goten and I use our training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber in order to make turning into our Super Saiyan 2 forms become natural… all thanks to the plan our dad came up with in an effort to master becoming a Super Saiyan," responded Gohan, a small confident look formed on his face… the same one he had when he confronted Super Buu in order to save Piccolo, Goten, Trunks and Videl after Gotenks' fusion ended before he could properly finish the creature off. "My younger brother is getting the hang of using his new form but mastering it into a natural state would take a lot of effort and that includes doing our best to stay in our Super Saiyan 2 forms during the entire day inside the Time Chamber."
Mr. Popo remained silent, giving Gohan a nod of approval as he and Goku achieving the Full-Power Super Saiyan state in the Time Chamber did help in their chances of saving Earth from Cell at the Cell Games so it may aid the two Half-Saiyan children in better defeating Baby. "In all honesty, I actually wish I still had my tail…" continued the eldest son of Goku and Chi-Chi, the final time he had a tail was around the moment before Cooler and his Armored Squadrons attacked the Earth as the Z-Fighters were preparing for their battle against the Androids when it happened. "Maybe if Dad and I had a means of regrowing them combined with our training, it might better benefit in saving our timeline."
Mr. Popo and Dende took this into consideration, which would explain why Goten and Trunks are keeping their tails ever since they grew back during the closing stages of the battles against the evil Super Buu, who had become Kid Buu the moment that the Good Buu was separated from inside of his body. "There might be a way, however it has never been done before" began Mr. Popo, reflecting on the fact that Kami was the one who permanently removed Goku's tail before restoring the moon and how Goku's tail has not grown back even during the 23rd World Tournament, the only World Tournament that Goku managed to win after losing the final round of the previous two tournaments to Master Roshi and Tien respectively. "Unfortunately, it would also be more painful than the training that you and Goten will go through."
"I see…" said Gohan, understanding there were risks because the moon was restored again since the Earth would no longer be threatened by evil Saiyans let alone the chance of them turning into Great-Apes when looking at it or at a Power Ball like the one Vegeta made during his initial battle against Goku on Earth. "I've been through far worse, so I think by now I can handle any sort of pain."
"Are you sure?"
Gohan shifted his attention towards Dende, as much as his friend was concerned for his well being… aside from the training that he and Goten still intend to go through when the younger Half-Saiyan arrives at the Lookout, he wanted to show he will not let Pan down again. "I'm positive, we don't know for sure if our timeline's Baby would become far stronger than the one we were warned about" he replied, his face darkened as he remembered Pan's last words to him and Videl before dying in their arms on the Sacred Kai Planet. "I'd be damned if I allowed history to repeat itself because of my inability to make a difference."
"Okay, in that case… we will begin the tail regrowing process at once" said Mr. Popo before heading to see if he could find something to better aid in the task, even though he warned Gohan that it would be painful, unbelievably painful.
"Thank you Mr. Popo." Gohan gave him a nod of approval, knowing it could increase their chances of winning and ensuring a better future if it is successful…. though he only prayed that the Earth won't be attacked while he and Goten were absent because there wouldn't be a way to properly defend it should that be the case, at least the others were doing what they can in looking out for any possible threats during the Half-Saiyans' absence. "Let's hope the others can handle any possible threat while Goten and I are getting prepared for our training… At least it won't be like when I had to go through Old Kai's ritual."
Back at Capsule Corp, Bulma knew that she needed to call someone on the phone in order to let them know about the situation and as much as it pained her to do so, she needed to tell the person of what happened to Bulla. "Oh my god… that's horrible…" came a female voice from the other end of the phone, which the bluenette slowly nodded her head.
"It's true, if it wasn't for Baby then not only would Gohan and Videl's future daughter not died but mine as well…" she responded, knowing that she refused to see anyone else she cared about perishing and it sickened her at the memories of learning not only did Vegeta become Baby's permanent host in Pan's timeline but she apparently became the queen of the Neo-Tuffles on the newly restored Tuffle Planet all thanks to Baby using the Black Star Dragonballs to recreate his home planet. "My husband is even more pissed off than ever because of the revelation that Shamano revealed… and he's certain to make Baby suffer for what happened."
"Great… and here I thought things were going to get better now that the evil Majin Buu had been dealt with by your friends. I still can't believe I missed the whole thing, let alone your trip to Namek, the World Martial Arts Tournament that you saw, the events with the Red Ribbon Army, King Piccolo and the Saiyans, the tournament that took place where Bojack and his minions struck, among others but I did see the Cell Games and I was surprised that your friends were the ones who defeated Cell not Mr. Satan."
"Well you weren't missing out on much that's all you need to know" said Bulma with a frown, having even revealed the fact that her husband was the Saiyan Prince and their son Trunks is Half-Saiyan, though she had a feeling Trunks will need to tap into his Hidden Powers somehow like Gohan and Goten did because of their being hybrids. "How's Jaco doing?"
"So far so good, then again… it was funny how you ended up switching bodies with a frog" responded the female voice in a joking tone which made Bulma scowl at the fact she brought up when Ginyu managed to switch bodies with her on Namek and made her regret befriend with him let alone putting that damned universal translator she invented around his neck.
"You had to bring that up didn't you Tights?" she replied, not too pleased with the moment even though thanks to Gohan, she managed to get back into her own body when Ginyu attempted to switch bodies with Piccolo during Goku's battle against Frieza. "Besides, you're one to talk as you were not only killed by the evil Majin Buu when he was a threat to the universe but I have a feeling you were also infected by Garlic Jr's Black Water Mist along with the rest of the Earth back when he escaped from the Dead Zone and in the timeline that both Gohan and Videl's future daughter as well as my own future daughter came from, I bet you were turned into a Neo-Tuffle by Baby."
Tights looked at her younger sister and knew this must be hard for her seeing how upset Bulma is and wished that there was something that she could do or say to help her. "Bulma I know that this future will not happen and shall be stopped."
After a few minutes of crying bitter tears, Xeno finally calmed down enough to look up at her new boyfriend Tempest, whom still held her in a gentle embrace, slowly stroking her head as if to give her the one thing she needed right now; comfort. Comfort and support, something she lacked for the most part back when her 'father' was still around, where people were afraid of associating with her, lest they'd risk the ire of that political madman. She shuddered at the thought of him managing to make it far into politics, perhaps planning along to stage a coup d'état and take over the planet by dethroning King Furry and declaring himself the new King… or better yet 'Emperor' of the Earth. Xeno growled a little at the thought; her father always liked the sound of his own voice and envisioned himself as Emperor… but she had the strange feeling in her gut that those plans have been ruined in some way…
"Do you feel any better?" Tempest asked in a soft spoken voice, evidently not wanting to antagonize her now.
"Yes, I am… thank you, I really needed that." Xeno replied with a smile, as Tempest gently wiped a tear from her face.
"At times it is just for the best to let it all out. Keeping things bottled up isn't always good for a person, no matter how much one would care to admit. While I can understand the turmoil and the belief that one would think emotions are for the weak, they forget that emotion can also be a source of strength." Tempest said.
"And how would you know?" Xeno asked.
"Believe me when I say that even I have faced my own personal demons on multiple occasions," Tempest said, "being driven by emotions can be of great benefit, as it can help you to break the chains which supposedly contain you and limit your potential."
Xeno remained silent as Tempest continued. "It is something my sensei once said to me: power comes for the call of need, NOT a desire. Back then, I was in an emotional turmoil myself as I mourned the death of my parents at the time." He said.
Xeno nodded her head in understanding, having heard the story from Tempest himself shortly after they met. "Back then I still wondered why I managed to survive and yet my parents had to perish… I know they did their best to protect me, but…"
Tempest fell silent, only to suddenly feel Xeno wrapping an arm around him. Looking up, he noticed that it was Xeno who did that. "You still miss them…" She stated.
"Yes, to this very day in fact… my sensei told me that I should use the memory of them to try my best and make them proud… through that I've been using that particular drive to try my best on everything, and if I happen to screw up on things, I'll do my best to fix it or try harder to become better… and yet I can't help but think that my ordeals are far from over… my path is long…" He replied.
"Then let me help you," Xeno said, "together we should be able to overcome what will be waiting for us."
"Thank you for your faith, Xeno. I only hope you can forgive me if I fall short along the way." Tempest replied.
"Don't worry about it; we're both in this together, so we will have to work together if we are to conquer the dangers ahead." Xeno replied.
Tempest smiled at the sudden determination Xeno showed, it almost felt like it was some kind of reward; he had helped her in her time of need a couple of times, now she is about to return the favor. Xeno on her turn also felt relieved that Tempest was so understanding of her situation. On top of that, their current close contact allowed her to get a close look at him, staring into his eyes. She noticed that his eyes were green, almost as green as emeralds. This sudden realization made her blink, as he had complimented her on her eyes before due to them being like rubies for him. As she got lost in his eyes for a moment, Tempest was equally lost in hers, a moment of silence passing between them. It was on that moment, time seemed to slow down and everything else around them seemed to vanish. Neither of them realized that, as this happened, their hearts began to beat in complete synchronization with each other and their breathing was aligning itself as well. As if through some unspoken agreement, both Tempest and Xeno gently embraced each other, the anticipation growing with the second as their heads came closer together… and then their lips met each other in a soft, yet passionate kiss…
Later that night with everyone sleeping, or as best as they could do with what has happened and going on, yet Videl was not sleeping well at all. As in her bed she was tossing and turning at the nightmare that she was having right now.
Videl soon found herself on another planet and she was not sure where she was, but she heard a voice cry out as she looked around and saw many, many people around her. "Mom please take this, it will make you feel better."
The younger Videl simply looked over as she saw her future daughter. "Oh no Pan!" Videl cried out as she saw her older self as well.
Needless to say, she saw the poor girl being slapped across the face much to the shock of the younger Videl. "Mom, it's me… it's Pan…" she pleased, hoping to try and at least make her mother remember who she really is but the younger Videl knew better as it wasn't going to have any effect on those controlled by Baby from what she learned. "Don't you remember me?"
"Of course I remember you… Daughter…" began the older Videl, an evil grin forming on her face as she glanced down at her daughter.
"I'm glad you're here, Pan…" came another voice that Pan and the younger Videl recognized as Gohan, he looked much older than the Gohan the younger version of Videl knew, as well as more evil than the boy she fell in love with. "Your mother and I have been worried about you."
Pan felt rather relieved at seeing her father, embracing him in her arms. "Daddy…" she sobbed, wanting this nightmare to go away ever since the death of her Saiyan grandfather at the hands of that damned Tuffle Parasite.
"Pan, it's okay as soon as you join us, your pain will go away…" he informed the quarter Saiyan, his grin growing wider and the younger Videl knew it wasn't a good sign.
"You leave her alone!" yelled the younger Videl, delivering a punch to the older one's face but to her shock, her fist went right through the older woman as if it was like a ghost trying to hit a living person and to make matters worse, neither the older Gohan, older Videl nor Pan noticed her presence. "The hell?!"
"Please don't let them do this to us, dad…" Pan once again pleased while grinning onto the business outfit her father wore, wanting to do her best in snapping her parents out of Baby's control but to no avail. "Fight, fight! You can do it!"
"Pan, that's enough!" snapped the older Videl, coldly glaring at the 9 year old girl. "We're quite happy with this new arrangement as will you be."
Anger getting the better of her, the younger Videl continued to attack the older Gohan and Videl, noticing as before, none of her moves were even landing a mark let alone hitting without fazing through without any damage done to her opponents. "What the hell is happening?!" she exclaimed, her hatred towards Baby increasing ever since she and Gohan learned of what happened not just to Pan but to Bulla as well. "Dammit!"
She already lost her mother during her childhood, plus hearing from Goku of Gohan possibly being dead in a way reminded her of that fateful day… while she was relieved to see her boyfriend was indeed alive as she thought he was, what ruined the moment following Kid Buu's defeat was the death of their future daughter. "Why can't I hit them?" she asked herself, sending a kick that went through her head.
Unfortunately things were about to get worse as Baby soon appeared alongside his servants, which were older versions of Goten and Trunks the moment he saw this moment between the three. "We have no use for this one," he informed the older Gohan and Videl. "Kill her!"
"Sir!"
Hearing this, the younger Videl turned to see the one who ruined the future that Pan and Bulla originated from. "You… murderous bastard!" she yelled, throwing a punch right at Baby which caused her to faze right through again and it seemed nobody was noticing she's even there. "I'll kill you!"
She tried her best to take Baby on, but to no avail and she soon saw below that the older Gohan and Videl were going to make good on their assigned task. "Dad, don't do it..." Pan tried to plead again, though it was no use as nothing she could say will stop them as she slowly backed away. "Please Daddy…"
Needless to say, the older Videl was approaching her from behind. "Pan, look out!" yelled the younger Videl, hoping that her future daughter would hear her. However, it seemed that not only can she not be seen but she also couldn't be heard either by anybody on this planet.
Soon enough, the older Gohan began grabbing Pan by the throat and horrified the younger Videl at the scene she's forced to watch. "You let her go!" she screamed, again trying her best to kick the older Gohan in the face… though she again fazed right through him, refusing to let this happen.
"Daddy… Stop…" Pan barely spoke, feeling his hand tightening on her neck even further as the older Gohan's eyes started to glow bright red while the older Videl watched in delight as did Baby, the older Trunks and the older Goten. "You're hurting me…"
The younger Videl just watched in anger at what she was seeing as she wanted to help or do something, anything really to stop what Gohan and her older self were doing.
"You're not my Daddy… he'd never do this…"
It was then that a pink ball of Ki energy formed in the older Gohan's left hand as he's about ready to put the light out on his daughter… permanently. "Oh my god…" muttered the younger Videl, even more terrified than ever at what the raven-haired half-Saiyan was about ready to do and she was unable to prevent it from happening.
"Die." he said, moments before preparing to end the life of his only daughter. Yet just as he was about to the older Gohan was sent flying away from Pan who landed on the ground gasping for air as she looked up and saw that it was Uub, while the younger Videl was thankful that someone had arrived to save Pan.
"Uub…" Pan said with a happy smile.
The younger Videl was quite conflicted at the sight of this. How could her older self and Gohan be so willing to harm their only child?! Didn't they have any sort of will of their own to protect her instead, but have become mindless slaves whom Baby has at his backing call? Didn't they care in the slightest that they were about to off their own offspring? The mere implication, thought and sight of this, coupled with the memory of what has happened to Future Pan after seeing her emerging from the Time Machine was more than enough to make Videl sick to her stomach, as if she felt herself denouncing her only family for not joining her… it made her want to scream, to beat her older counterpart senseless… but how could she do that? Wouldn't that attract attention of the others? Wouldn't they turn on her and end her just as quickly as they wanted to end her daughter? Why wouldn't her counterpart and her husband act like how a Mama Bear and Papa Wolf would act when their own offspring was threatened? It made her want to throw up as it made her absolutely livid, knowing that Baby had just made her into a mindless Tuffle without any thought or reasoning…
As this was happening, Goten managed to reach Dende's Lookout and hoped he wasn't too late for the training with his older brother Gohan but then again, part of him prayed the door to the Time Chamber wouldn't be destroyed again like when Piccolo blasted it to smithereens in an effort o trap Super Buu inside when him, Goten and Trunks for the rest of their lives, even as the two young Half-Saiyans were still fused as Gotenks and were waiting for the right moment to use their secret trick. "Gohan, you there?" he called out, hoping that his brother will hear him. "Great, just my luck… Guess he decided not to wait…"
"I'm right here!"
He heard Gohan calling out and upon turning to see his older brother, he saw that there was a small change, yes he was still wearing the same orange gi w/ weighted clothing from when he fought Super Buu and Kid Buu but the thing that surprised the younger Half-Saiyan was the tail that was now on Gohan's rear. "You have a tail?" he muttered in slight shock, realizing that the older Half-Saiyan managed to somehow regrow it by the time he arrived. "How did you manage to…"
"You can thank Dende and Mr. Popo for that, I don't want to get into the details right now" explained Gohan as they needed to start their training session as soon as possible, in case something else was about to happen while the two brothers were busy in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and the others should be able to handle things for the time being. On the other hand, Vegeta never used the power he gained from his first time using the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to get stronger in order to finish Cell off for good before he obtained his Perfect Form and it led to the Cell Games taking as a result. "For now, what do you say we get started on our training?"
Nodding his head, Goten knew not to argue as he looked forward to doing a proper year of rigorous training in one day inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and hopefully it would not only help the two become stronger but also to making transforming into a Super Saiyan 2 become natural. As they were about to head for the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Shin arrived at the Lookout, surprising them by the sudden appearance of the Kibito Kai. "Kibito Kai?" the younger Half-Saiyan asked out of slight disbelief, though he and his older brother knew he had a reason for showing up the way he did.
Even Dende and Mr. Popo were surprised to see him again so soon since he should be back on the Sacred World with Old Kai at this very moment. "I'm sorry to interrupt your training, but there's someone who would like to speak with you and the other…" he explained, still shocked at the fact there was another Supreme Kai who survived the evil Buu's genocide aside from himself and Old Kai but it would be best if the four came with him to Capsule Corp as it'll be better for them to see the Supreme Kai of Time in person.
"Oh?" began Gohan, somewhat confused since it couldn't be Old Kai due to him not being present with Shin at all and he was still worried for Shamano due to the male Trimonight having returned to their era with a missing arm and hoped that their new friend would be okay. "Who might that be exactly?"
"You'll see, but for now I need you to come with me to Capsule Corp, she said that she'll meet us there for some matters that needed to be addressed, at least I think she does."
The moment the four heard Shin mention she, it made them completely rule Old Kai out and Goten had been hoping to tell Gohan about his and Trunks' visit to Tapion earlier but it'll have to wait until they find out who they'll be meeting with. Then again, he hoped Trunks will do alright keeping an eye on Tapion on his own for a while… unless he too was asked to meet with them at Capsule Corp. "Okay, hopefully it won't take too long" said Dende with a slight frown on his face.
"Yeah, so do I.. Old Kai knows her since they met before" explained Shin, which in turn surprised Gohan, Goten, Dende and Mr. Popo completely at the fact whoever was coming to meet with them was someone whom Old Kai knew personally.
"Old Kai met her before?" asked the older Half-Saiyan with a somewhat confused expression forming on his face since that was something Old Kai never brought up ever since the events involving Majin Buu let alone the fact when Baby was brought up following his future daughter coming back in time to warn them about the threat the Tuffle Parasite would bring forth." I just hope Old Kai doesn't bring up that kiss he wants…"
Shin nodded, answering his friend's question and saw that there was something different about him though he will ask that later... especially as it's not everyday that a Saiyan would have their tail restored at some point, since Goten and Trunks' respective tails grew back while they were in Super Buu's body though it made him wonder how come their alternate timeline counterparts let alone Vegeta and Bulma's own future daughter never had their tails despite being Half-Saiyan. "Yes, it was eons ago that their first time meeting took place but I can't get into too much on the details" he explained, knowing there wasn't time to waste revealing everything right now. "You'll learn more when we get to Capsule Corp, I'm sorry if it would delay your training."
Gohan sighed, it wasn't that uncommon for something to come their way just when they least expected it and with Baby, Tapion, Hoi and this Hirudegarn, there was a lot going on his mind and yet, he still couldn't get over the fact Videl has been getting a bad vibe when it came to the old red-skinned man they stopped from ending his own life. "Don't worry about it, we have plenty of time to spare" he replied to the Kibito Kai, although all things considered while he never got a chance to fuse with his father due to wanting to be absorbed by Super Buu to rescue Videl, Goten, Trunks and Piccolo, he did wonder what would happen if he was to fuse with someone via the Potarra Earrings but that'll be for another time.
"Gohan's right, besides I'm still a bit nervous about going into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber again since the door got destroyed last time and all…" added Goten while scratching the back of his head sheepishly since he didn't want to end up stuck in there for good and this time not having Trunks to fuse with in order to get them out of there. "Not that I'm worried it would mind you, I was just stating how I feel…"
"Understandable, alright we better get going!" said Shin before he and the others teleported to Capsule Corp via his Instantaneous Movement, hoping that Chronoa wouldn't do anything too drastic concerning the distortion in time caused by Pan traveling to the past in the Time Machine.
Tempest and Xeno eventually decided they needed fresh air and ended their kiss, but it was clear that they were falling in love with each other. "That… that was amazing." she said, blushing furiously.
"I agree," Tempest said with a smile, "more amazing than I could possibly imagine."
Xeno giggled at this, amused by Tempest's own awkwardness. Tempest on his turn smiled at Xeno, evidently happy at the situation and hoped they could truly work together on becoming gradually stronger. "Thank you again," she said, "I would have gone nuts of anxiety the longer 'he' remained absent from our home…"
"I take it because you feared making a slip-up and began to do things you wanted to do, only to be caught and punished by him the moment he made his return, huh?" Tempest replied.
"Exactly… it's almost as if his spirit has been haunting me in some way…" Xeno said.
"Don't worry. Once we've conquered our personal demons together, he won't be able to do anything to you anymore, should you encounter him one day. You'll be completely free as your fear of him will be gone." Tempest said.
Xeno nodded at this with a light smile on her face. "It's getting late in the day; I'll take you home before your mother gets worried if you wish." Tempest then offered.
"I'd like that, but can we meet up again tomorrow?" Xeno asked.
"Of course, I'll be waiting for you at the usual spot to continue our training." Tempest said, making Xeno smile.
Videl woke up with a shock and covered in sweat over the dream she had of her daughter and what she had seen, remembering what had happened she couldn't help but let a tear come from her eye over that nightmare she had. "I will not let this happen." she thought as she remembered the dream that she had and what she saw happen to her daughter to be.
"Gohan I hope that you're doing okay, as I miss you so much right now." Videl said as she wished that Gohan was with her to comfort her over the nightmare.
Knowing that she couldn't go back to sleep Videl soon decided to walk outside in order to get some fresh air, and she made sure that she was quite since she didn't want to wake anyone else up right now yet once she was she saw she was not alone. "Shamano, I thought that you would have been sleeping?"
The last Trimonight just gave a smile at Videl a shock his head at the young woman. "Well that may be true but I don't need that much sleep as humans do, Videl." He said as he looked up at the night sky. "Plus I don't like sleeping that much really."
Videl hearing this tilted her head wondering what he was talking about and then knew why. "You have nightmares as well then?" She asked as she watched him node his head. "Had one as well that damn Tuffle, I never hated anything this much in my life." Videl said as she looked up at the night sky.
"Yeah all the time when I sleep remember I was a solider before my planet's destruction, it's just when I sleep I hear all the cries way to many to even count," Shamano began as Videl looks on wondering what kind of war this was as she nor has the Kai as far as she knew said something about a war. "Trust me Videl you don't want to know the horrors that I faced in that war the lives lost and planets destroyed even the Gods of Destruction were shocked."
Videl tilted her head at this wondering what he meant by that. "Gods of what…?"
"Well someone who you don't want to meet Videl trust me on this, the God of Destruction from this universe is powerful and can blow up Earth with no trouble and no one would be able to stop him, so best hope he never comes to Earth." Shamano said as he went a little pale. "It's just a good thing Lord Beerus is still sleeping."
"Okay if you say so, but sounds like someone to have on our side." Videl said with a worried look on her face as she was going to ask more if this God was evil, "So he is evil then I mean blowing up planets like that?" She then asked as she looked at the alien.
"Actually no he isn't, it's complicated really," he explained to the raven-haired female human, especially as he felt that she needed to at least know about how the Gods of Destruction works so she doesn't get the wrong idea about the Gods of Destruction in general. "There are actually a total of twelve Gods of Destruction, each one from a different universe, with their purpose being to maintain balance between creation and destruction since the Supreme Kais had the purpose of creating life while the Gods of Destruction was to destroy and the universe we reside in right now is known as Universe 7."
"I see…" she replied, still finding it hard to believe there were twelve Gods of Destruction in total and makes her wonder about the one of Universe 7 right now but on the other hand, if he was even stronger than everyone here then one question came to mind. "If he's this powerful, then I wonder how come he never showed up in my future daughter's timeline as he would've easily made quick work of Baby."
That question made Shamano frown, especially as his knowledge on different timelines was limited when it came to the Gods of Destruction. "No clue, on the other hand he never came during the time Future Trunks had to deal with the Androids of his timeline so even I'm not so sure on how to answer your question," he responded back, especially as part of him hoped there wouldn't be a chance that the young girl will ever meet a God of Destruction. "I mean, even the Kais have their share of limits in certain instances and this being one of them." Shamano said with a thoughtful look on his face and soon snapped his fingers. "Well he might be sleeping."
Videl stayed silent, not knowing what else to say though she reflected on seeing Goten and Trunks performing the Fusion Dance to merge into Gotenks at the Lookout as well as when Goku and Vegeta managed to fuse into Gogeta via the same dance which made her wonder if she and Gohan could attempt to do a fusion. "What if Gohan and I were to do a fusion with one another?" she asked, getting Shamano's attention since he wanted to hear what made her ask such a question. "I mean Goku and Vegeta are pretty much partners in a way as Goten and Trunks, even Yamcha and Tien were partnered to do fusion so I don't see why Gohan and I can attempt to do Fusion."
"Hmmmm…. That's a good question, it might be an interesting idea though it might be risky…" said the Trimonight, especially knowing that the two different Fusions were useful in their own way but they weren't without their flaws either after witnessing what happened when Gotenks' fusion ended in Super Buu's body during his fight against Gohan. "Shin did mention how he was told to give his Potarra Earrings to Goku and Vegeta but there was no long any need to do so while learning the Fusion Dance would take a lot of practice in order to get it right, one mess up in attempting to do the dance and disastrous consequences could occur."
"Yeah, kinda happened with Goten and Trunks when they messed up the Fusion Dance twice in a row before perfecting it the third time which was a slight relief even though it wasn't enough to stop Buu at the time" she explained, referring to how the two young boys became a fat Gotenks the first time they messed up the Fusion Dance and then a skinny Gotenks the second time they messed it up before eventually becoming the true Gotenks. "We'll worry about that later, for now let's concentrate on something more important… Like where exactly Hoi is right now."
"Beats me, he hasn't been seen since Trunks and Goten left to check on Tapion," responded Shamano with a shrug, noticing the expression on Videl's face as she still didn't like the red-skinned wizard one bit but who could blame her? Another thing odd is this story on Tapion and whether there was more to freeing him from the music box than they originally thought. "The two boys and even you and the others from what I can tell are serious about becoming stronger since I sensed your power not long after I got treated at Capsule Corp."
"We've been training a lot lately, plus Gohan and Goten were kinda pushing it when they were training under 1000x Gravity…" she explained, then again they at least brought some Senzu Beans with them before they started training in case the two male Half-Saiyans were to hurt themselves severely during the Training Session and the Zenkai Boosts they got whenever they healed from near fatal injuries was an added bonus. "Erasa, Sharpner and I were worried they could get themselves killed doing so… then again, I had did similar training but I started with 10x Gravity and slowly worked my way up to 100x Gravity and I've gotten used to it since."
"I'm not surprised, Gohan and Goten are Half-Saiyan and they needed to push themselves to the limit if they're to stand a better chance against the upcoming threat in the next 14 and a half years" Shamano just shrugged, having heard that Vegeta pushed himself so much that he ended up destroying the space ship he was training on and injuring himself during the preparations for the Androids. "Glad they know when to have healing items with them just to be on the safe side."
"I'll say, at least Goten got himself a girlfriend now."
"Oh really?" Shamano asked the raven-haired girl out of curiosity as a slight grin formed on his face the moment he heard Goten had found himself a very lovely girl at a young age though he had a pretty good idea on who it was due to having learned of her from Pan. "It wouldn't happen to be Valese would it?"
"Yeah!" answered Videl, somewhat surprised that Shamano immediately figured it out on his first try because she, Gohan and Goten only just recently encountered Valese at the park prior to Hoi's suicidal attempt though the brown-haired female was pretty cute and she might help with keeping Goten from completely losing his innocent side… something that Baby took away in that terrible future. "Odds are we might see a lot more of her sometime."
"Indeed, who knows maybe she might be a reason for him wanting to become even stronger than ever before" he commented with a light chuckle, knowing it wasn't that uncommon to see people fighting to protect something they truly care about as demonstrated when Videl risked her life to help Gohan during the final battle against Kid Buu. "Who knows, I could imagine how things would go had you met Gohan sooner than you did."
"Oh?"
"Think about it… Gohan mentioned how if Future Trunks never came back in time from his era to warn him and the others about the Androids let alone Cell making his appearance by stealing the time machine from his era's Future Trunks then there was a chance you would never have met Gohan," explained Shamano, reflecting back to what he heard Gohan mentioning how things would've been a lot different had history not changed. "So what's to say there wouldn't be changes if you met Gohan during his childhood days before the Cell Games even took place?"
Remaining silent, Videl started going into deep thought as Shamano was starting to make a very valid point on the matter regarding if she and Gohan were to meet much sooner than at Orange Star High School. "Good question, plus it would depend on how sooner before the Cell Games you are referring to though it would've been good to see how things would've been if that were the case" she replied after thinking it through.
"Yeah because there are many paths whether it is timelines or otherwise, we don't know where it would lead us unless we choose to take it" he commented, even the future isn't set in stone and everyone was in charge of their own destiny and if they'd wish to change it or not.
"I just hope Gohan's Training with Goten in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber goes well…" began Videl, her concern for the raven-haired Half-Saiyan she fell in a love with and his younger brother started to show because she hadn't forgotten when Piccolo and Gotenks were nearly trapped forever inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber when the Namekian Warrior destroyed the only door leading out in an effort to keep the evil Buu from harming the last surviving Z-Fighters and their friends. "Sure Gohan had gone through that kind of training before with his father, but still…"
"I'm sure Gohan and Goten will be fine, besides had it not been for training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber then Cell would have most definitely won the Cell Games" commented Shamano, having been curious on if Videl had tried to train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber herself or not. "Also you did say that you will want to do two years of rigorous training in two days inside the Time Chamber last I checked."
Videl frowned; sometimes she wondered why Shamano would have to bring up that notion but she wanted to show a human is capable of training in the Time Chamber and survive it. "Yeah, plus Gohan said that he will come with me on my first time entering so I don't hurt myself…" she said, wanting to be certain that her boyfriend was willing to let her go into the Chamber to train since he was to accompany her on her first time. "That's why I started to undergo gravity training myself and right now I am up to 400x gravity right now though still trying to get used to the harsher intensity."
"It's never easy to survive training under intense gravity, hell it is even more so with humans than with Saiyans let alone Half-Saiyans but at least you are showing that you're willing to start small and work your way up," Shamano replied, his arms were crossed especially as Videl's personality would never change regardless of her bond with Gohan and his family which was something that made the raven-haired girl who she was. "If you're lucky, you might even surpass the strongest human Z-Fighters like Tien, Chiaotzu, Krillin and Yamcha though in Yamcha's case, I'd say you'd be surpassing him almost right away if not immediately with your progress."
"Well I hope so I have a promise to keep after all now won't I," Videl said as she looked up at the stars knowing that monster may be out there or being made. "I only hope that…" she didn't get to finish as both were interrupted by a female voice.
"Hello!" the two looked back and Shamano sort of knew who this was the Supreme Kai of Time or Chorona. "Look we need to talk okay so can you go and wake the other up." She said with a smile while Videl just noted how short she was and the owl that was on her head.
"Um sure I'll be right back." He said knowing that this must be important that she had arrived but this would just also mean more of a pain as well as she was not going to like what Pan and Bulla had done mainly Pan, heck he broken a rule as well in going to the future and bringing Bulla back.
Videl was still confused by all of this as she just helped her head and gave a sigh. "Can't we just have one normal day." She said as she knew that this had yet to know who this was yet had a feeling she was a Kai from the way that she was dressed and looked as well.
"Well it's very important after all I know what your daughter has died, she broke a very big law you know in coming back to the past," the Kai in front of her said as she placed her hands on her hips knowing that Videl and the others needed to hear this. "Well unless Shamano tell me off for telling them off."
Soon the others all arrived all yawning with Vegeta not being too pleased at being woken up like this. "Wow if looks could kill." Videl thought as she looked at how pissed Vegeta was right now and was happy she didn't go to wake him up.
"Alright then why the hell have you woken us all up?!" Vegeta yelled just moments before Gohan, Dende, Mr. Popo, Goten and Shin arrived to meet with the others as he looked over to what was going on and wanted answers from both the Kibito Kai and the Supreme Kai of Time right now. "And who the hell is this anyway?"
Shin frowned as he had just reached the Capsule Corp with Gohan, Goten, Dende and Mr. Popo in tow since they needed to know too, yet he was aware there were be matters to properly discuss concerning Time Travel and such that the Z-Fighter never knew about prior. "Well, it's a long story but you'll never me when I say this…" he explained to the angry Saiyan Prince, knowing it had to be said. "She's Chronoa, the Supreme Kai of Time."
A/Ns: As much as I hate to do this, I'm going to have to stop the chapter right here especially as a lot is going on as it is other than the plot involving Hirudegarn. Also don't threat, the main Wrath of the Dragon story will continue but I felt that the Supreme Kai of Time along with Tokitoki being included into saga could make things a bit more interesting especially for the events soon to come.
Plus it does coincide with the fact Future Trunks in Dragonball Xenoverse mentioned that when he went back in time during the Trunks Saga events, he ended up increasing the number of timelines that came to be and one of them being where Dragonball GT pretty much takes place. Anyway hope you enjoy what I have written and will do more fairly soon.
