Postscript

When I first began posting Back and Forth, I was terrified that no one would like it. However, this story has been welcomed by you, and I wanted to take a minute to give you all a heart-felt thank you. Writing fiction and things like this story are my pastime―what I do when I need a break from my daily obligations or stresses. Writing like this is also one of the things that I do for pure, unadulterated fun! But before this, my writing has been only for me.

Posting the story was a leap for me, but I am so happy I made it.

I want to thank my reviewers publicly. Many of you posted on almost every chapter or gave me interesting feedback that caused me to think. In the sea of wonderful reviews that I received, I was often encouraged and heartened. It is always a gift to hear that other people like something you do―that others are listening.

I felt gifted by each review.

As of right now, I have two story ideas fighting for dominance in my brain, and I'd like to ask you all for your opinion one last time. You may remember that my writing process will require that I finish a story (except for the final revisions and edits) before I begin posting, so it will be a while (probably a few months or more) before I begin sharing another story, but I am interested in seeing what you would most like for me to work on. I'm excited about both of these ideas, and I'd love to know your preference.

Option One: A sequel to Back and Forth. Cdb33, a fellow cat lover, said something about the kitten a while back in one of her reviews, and I realized that the little creature didn't have a name yet. That little detail spurred me to start thinking about a sequel. As of right now, I have quite a few ideas for it, but you all might be tired of B&F after 300,000 words.

Option Two: A whole new Eric/Sookie story. It would pick up right after Bill attacks Sookie in the van. I want to rewrite the whole fairy thing and take that aspect of the story into a different direction. I also want to re-envision the Russell confrontation and the second half of Season 3 onward.

So those are my fledgling children. Do you have a preference?

As you may remember, my feeble, one-track mind can only work on one thing at a time. Over the winter holidays, I will actually have time to write a bit, so if you have a vote about which story you'd prefer I work on, let me know! Either way, I hope you will stay tuned and read my future work. I will try to keep my profile page updated every week or two to let you know the status of whatever story I'm working on.

And one last personal note: I would ask for your best wishes one last time. I have another minor medical procedure tomorrow (another reason why I wanted to finish the story before then). My body seems to rebel at times, so I hope that this procedure will yield answers to the questions that my doctors have been unable to decipher. Any well wishes, karma, prayers, etc. that you can give are most welcome. At this point, I will take all the help I can get.

Once again – Thanks! Thanks for everything.
