Chapter IV: Called It-It's Another Poseidon Kid

Nico

"Okay, so let me get this straight—you're both telling me that mythology is real and that I'm a child of one of them." Kairi says.

"Yes." It turns out, explaining things to Kairi proved to be easy since she easily picked things up.

"Well, how do I know who my godly parent is? I came from an orphanage and they don't really want to show me my parental records." She says.

"You'll be claimed eventually." Percy answers.

"So since you're father is Poseidon, do you get any attributes from him?" she asks.

Percy nods, making the water in her glass float around then return inside the glass "Proof." I rolled my eyes, show off.

"When can I get out of bed?" Kairi asks, clearly looking much better.

"You can whenever you feel like it." I say.

As soon as I do, Kairi immediately jumps on the bed. Like a gymnast, she jumps out of bed and somersaults next to me, somehow managing to land on her two feet steadily. I however, wasn't ready for her sudden act and fall to the ground in surprise.

Percy laughed while Kairi helped me up, apologizing nonstop. I dusted myself, "It's fine." I say.

The girl grinned and ran off, "I'M GONNA EXPLORE!" she shouts. Percy and I were both startled,

"What the-?"

"Come on," I say and pull him along into my running start, "she might do something stupid and hurt herself."

When we did catch up to her we showed her around the camp. She decided to chill at the lake while Percy and I duelled until it was dinner time. After the duelling, I went back to my cabin and cleaned myself up. While walking to the pavilion, I saw Kairi along the way. I sneaked towards the girl and tapped her shoulder, "Hey."

Kairi turns around and smiles, "Hey Nico."

"You're going to eat at the Hermes table by the way. Since you haven't been claimed yet, you'll stay there."

She nods, "But where will you eat?"

"At the Hades table."

We parted our ways and ate at our respective tables. After dinner, Kairi asked what goes around at the camp. Percy, Annabeth, and I tell her the missions and the wars that we've been through. "It must have been so difficult back then. Though the camp looks more peaceful now, that's good right?" Kairi asks.

"The Fates are unpredictable but I'm pretty sure every camper here is making the most of this peace while they can before something else gets thrown in." Percy says.

"Come on, it's camp fire night. Let's indulge in the present." Annabeth says.

"Oh boy, time to sing." Percy says with an eye roll.

"That doesn't sound so bad. I heard the Apollo kids are going for some alternative rock songs." The carbon copy of Percy says.

I sat next to Kairi and listened to her singing with the music that rises to the air along with the smoke from the huge bonfire in the middle. She wasn't bad in singing—she was quite good at it. After all that singing, Chiron made some announcements. "We also have a new demigod—Kairi Wright." Kairi stands and nods in acknowledgement. Out of nowhere, something began to glow and take form on top of her head.

Here it comes... the moment of truth.

A trident appeared and I was mildly shocked since I had a hunch already. Percy however was completely surprised. Nonetheless, everyone kneeled and bowed their heads. Kairi looks at me confused, I tilt my head up slightly and give a small smile to her. "Kairi Wright, daughter of Poseidon—god of seas, earthquakes, and horses." Chiron says solemnly. When the trident faded, everyone stood up and the wise centaur clapped his hands, "Well, that's one less bed to be used in the Hermes cabin. Kairi, you'll be resting in the Poseidon cabin with Percy. Have a good night everyone—off to bed you all go." We all dispersed while the four of us walked back towards the cabins.

"I guess I'm your half-sibling then." Kairi says to Percy.

He nods, "Well with Tyson back with Dad, it'll be nice to have company again." He then looks back at Annabeth and I, "We'll see you guys tomorrow. Laters!"

We all bid our goodbyes and went to our respective cabins. I relaxed into my bed after cleaning up for the night. Today was a rather eventful day and I sleep with my thoughts on the new camper I brought.
