Chapter 14

"You'll see him again", Katara sat next to Azula on Appa's back.

"See who?" Azula frowned at her.

"Haku", she smiled knowingly," You'll see him again."

"I don't care", Azula scoffed, but Katara knew it was all just for show. She knew that Azula was scared facing her father. She didn't have any doubts that Azula will betray them for how badly her father had treated her, but she knew that she was still scared. Whether that being seeing her father or that her father will kill her.

"Why such long faces?" Sokka spoke up, and everyone turned to him.

"I don't know, the fact that we might all die?" Toph answered sarcastically.

"Because we are seeing our father who hates us", Azula mumbled.

"I might never see my son again", Zuko quickly looked at Katara and then away.

"I might lose everyone I love", Katara almost teared up looking at them all.

"Okay..." Sokka tilted his head," I guess that's all good reasons, but they're not going to help us right now."

Katara gave a small smile at her brother's attempt to bring up everybody's spirits.

"We can't go into this with this attitude", Sokka stood up on Appa, trying to hold his balance," We have to be more confident than this. We have to be believe in ourselves more. We have to know that we can do this!"

"Sokka's right", Aang spoke up," I can't do this if I don't have all of you backing me up. I can't defeat Ozai if none of you believe I, we, can."

"I believe we can", Azula spoke up, surprising everybody," I know we can. Because this I, all of us, the world has suffered long enough. I can't live like this anymore."

"Me either", Zuko nodded his head," I want to be able to show Haku his Fire Nation past without it being ruined by him. I don't want to Haku to live in a world that is being ruined by our father."

"I want our people to feel safe", Katara nodded," I want justice for our tribe. I want justice for our mother."

Sokka reached over and held Katara's hand," She will be avenged Katara. We can do this. All of us. Together."

They were outside of the Fire Nation capital. Katara looked out onto the city she once knew so well. She looked over and could almost see where Fire Fountain Academy laid in the distance. The place where she met the love of her life and where she met her closest friends. The city where she had briefly ruled as Fire Lady and had lost all touch with who she was.

"Feeling a little nostalgic?" Zuko came up behind her and wrapped an arm around her.

"Something like that", Katara nodded and turned to him," Just remembering how it was in the beginning."

"I remember when I first saw you at school", Zuko smiled at her.

"You do?" she looked up at him.

"Of course I do", Zuko squeezed her a little," You took my breath away. I had never seen someone so beautiful before and I knew I had to have you."

"Oh Zuko", she teared up slightly and hugged him," I love you."

"I love you too", he hugged her back," We are going to be okay... We are going to be back with our son before you know it and everything will work out perfectly."

"Excuse me lovebirds", Toph interupted them," We are trying to save the world over here. Care to join?"

Zuko snickered and they turned towards their group.

"The palace is probably guarded to the max and Ozai is going to be in the center of it", Azula told them.

"Why would he be in the throne room and not in a safe place?" Katara asked.

"Because he is a full fledged diva", Zuko told her," He wants all eyes on him. If he hides, he doesn't get that."

"So the main goal is to get Aang into that room so he can defeat Ozai", Sokka said.

"Duh", Toph rolled her eyes.

"Princess Azula?"

She stood in the front of the palace, standing with confidence like she belonged there.

"I am here to see my father!" Azula turned her head to the side," Let me through at once!"

"Princess Azula, we can't let you in to see him", the guard walked towards her," You've been a wanted person for quite some time now. We shall arrest you before we take you to him."

"Very well", she nodded," You may arrest me."

The guards walked over to her and as soon as they reached her she punched fire at them knocking them backwards. Two more guards advanced towards her, but Zuko and Katara ran up behind her to knock them back with their own bending.

"It's a trap!" a guard yelled from the distance," Stop them!"

A swarm of guards ran towards them. Aang, Toph, and Sokka were waiting on the sidelines and ran behind the group of guards to get closer to the palace.

"Stop the avatar at all cost!" a yell came and half the group dispersed.

"We can't let them reach Aang!" Zuko yelled. He punched fire at the guards coming while Azula was striking lightening at them. Katara was whipping them with water as they came and they were taking them down easily, letting Aang progress further.

"It's working!" Katara yelled," Keep running. We have to keep up with them!"

The three of them quickly took the rest of the guards down and advanced with Aang, Sokka, and Toph. They entered the palace and saw Earth benders coming towards them. Aang and Toph jumped in front of the group and pushed away the rock walls coming towards them. They both pulled up their own walls and pushed them towards the oncoming benders. They knocked two out of the way, but there were more behind them. Toph turned her hands and turned the floor in front of into sand causing them to get their feet stuck, and then turning it back into rock. Katara took her water and washed waves over them to knock them out.

"The throne room is not that much farther ahead", Zuko told them, and they kept running towards it. Guards came at them from the sides. They fought them off, but Katara could tell they would soon be outnumbered if it kept up like this.

"Toph and I can fight the rest of them off!" Sokka yelled," You guys keep going!"

Katara nodded and looked at Zuko. He grunted as he pushed a guard off him and they clashed swords. Katara was glad he had brought his swords with him. Zuko gave him one last hit and it sent the guard down.

"Go!" Toph yelled. The four took off down the hall and pushed past the throne room doors, slamming them shut behind them.

"Lock them", Azula told them. Zuko and Aang ripped down a curtain and tied it around the door handles, making sure no one could get past them. They ran to face the throne, but Ozai was not in it.

"Where is he?" Zuko hissed.

"You said he'd be here!" Aang yelled at Zuko and Azula," Unless you were covering for him!"

"Aang!" Katara yelled at him in shock," You can't possibly be serious."

"You're joking right?" Zuko looked at Aang with shock.

"Am I?" Aang looked at them with anger," Where is he then?"

"How would we know?" Azula told him," It's not like he stays in contact with us..."

"We assumed he'd be in here", Zuko said," That's doesn't garuantee it."

They looked around with frustration and hurt. This was supposed to be the end of it. And he wasn't here.

"We need to move before we get caught", Katara finally said," Staying here is keeping us in danger longer."

"Where are we going to go?" Aang asked," We don't know where he is."

"Anywhere is better than just staying here", Zuko said, grabbing Katara's hand," Let's move."

They were about to run out of the room when Ozai walked out onto his throne. Everyone stopped and stared at the man who had been ruining their lives for years.

"Hello son and daughter."

So there it was! Leave me some love!
