Ah, so good to be back in the game.

I am in the zone right now, nothing could stop me. Except for something called life and my two jobs.

So happy to have all you guys love the previous chapter so much and I'm really surprised at how much positive feedback I got from most reviews about the teaser for my upcoming Kingdom Hearts/Mass Effect crossover. Though I have an idea on how I wish for it to proceed, like always, I am always open for help. Give me a PM for any ideas or suggestions for the upcoming crossover.

I'm also going to begin hyping up my DC/Marvel crossover because as much as I love Mass Effect, Kingdom Hearts, Halo, Manga, Anime, movies and all that, my core knowledge or my origins in me being a geek is rooted in comic books. This is a project that I've been planning on doing for quite some time now, since I first joined this site.

But anyway, let's return back to the story.

I don't have much to say cause I don't want to give anything away. There's a lot of things to come in the next few chapters that will shake up the team.

Voting for the outcome of Virmire is still on

Kaidan alive Ashley dead

Ashley alive Kaidan dead

Both alive

Right now, it's strongly leaning to them both surviving because the main argument is plain and simple. Spider-man.

But still there a few chapter left until that time comes so keep your votes up people

Also a quick heads up, this will be a filler chapter cause meh. There will be certain points in this chapter that will lay the groundwork for future chapters. So it's going to be mostly comedic, knock off stuff. But fun stuff nonetheless.

Along Came A Spider Chapter 11: Well we've got nothing better to do

"This is it" Wrex said, staring into the open safe "I can't believe my ancestors ever wore this piece of crap, but at least I've got it back"

"Glad to help" Shepard said meaning it

"I might just be starting to like you Shepard" Wrex said with a rogue grin

Garrus, Spider-man and Ashley just stared at the armored, faces unreadable.

"…Why is it pink?" They all asked in unison

"You got a problem with that, Pyjaks?" Wrex asked with a growl

"No" the trio said quickly, waving their hands in panic

"Good" Wrex grunted

"Alright team" Shepard said, clearly amused by the exchange "Let's head home. I think it's time for a break"

"I hear that" Ashley said, exhausted

It had been a bit of a hectic few weeks for the Normandy crew. It seemed that they only increased their workload in not just pursuing Saren, but also dealing with personal problems within the crew itself.

Not in terms of in fighting. More along the lines of Shepard going out of his way to help out Garrus, Tali and Wrex with personal issues that never got resolved.

From Garrus's old vendetta against Saleon to helping out Tali and the alliance with the Geth and her pilgrimage to now aiding Wrex in retrieving his family armor.

There seemed to be no shortage of adventures between the crew.

During that time, Shepard had earned some loyal allies with Garrus and Tali and maybe even Wrex now. Heck the entire crew seemed to be becoming closer and closer. So many crazy missions, so many crazy moments, so many laughs and fights all shared together.

In all honesty, it was starting to feel like a second home to the web slinger. Sure he had a great team to rely on back home with the Avengers and they are irreplaceable.

But to think that in this past few short months, he had bonded with seven of probably the most unique individuals in this galaxy. Every single day, he had woken up to see, talk, eat, fight alongside with them and so much more.

The team of five had returned to the Normandy, tired but feeling somewhat triumphant.

"Thanks again Shepard" Wrex said to the Spectre, waiting for the decontamination process "And you too, Web-head, Pink-head"

"WHAT?!" Ashley said incredulously, Peter laughing

"Hey, what about me?" Garrus whined "I got in some pretty good headshots to help you get your armor back"

"Hmmm?" Wrex offhandedly glanced at the Turian detective "Oh yeah, forgot you were there to"

Garrus just hung his head, ignoring the laughs from Shepard, Peter and Ash.

"Hmph" Wrex said grinning "Man, I'm hungry, let's get some grub"

"Glad to have you back guys" Joker's voice greeted them over the intercom "So did you guys get Wrex's armor or whatever"

"Why don't you ask pinky" Spider-man quipped easily dodging a swipe from the Krogan

"Pinky?" They could practically feel the smile from Joker "Dear god, have I got to hear this one"

"Say a word to him Web-head and I will rip your spine out" Wrex said dangerously

"What?" Peter said innocently "I'm just gonna tell him how the mission went down"

Shepard shook his head with a smirk, addressing the Normandy pilot "Joker, set a course for the Citadel. Time to restock"

"Copy that Commander" Joker said

The team arrived at the main floor of the Normandy, greeted by Liara and Tali.

"Hey everybody" Tali waved merrily "How did the mission go?"

"Mission accomplished" Peter said with a thumbs up "No sweat to it"

"So what's our next course of action then Shepard?" Liara asked politely

"Right now, we still need to find Saren" Shepard said completely serious "But *Sigh* we've got no leads. The council is 'trying' to find something on getting a lead on the guy, but so far they've come with nothing"

"Hmph" Garrus said distastefully "Typical bureaucratic bullshit"

"You could say that again" Shepard said, glancing around "Where's Kaidan? He's usually up here"

"He had a bit of a headache" Tali said, gesturing to his head "Those L2 biotic implant of his were acting up, so he went to take a nap"

"Well, then I'm going to contact the council" Shepard said, regretting his words "See if we have any further leads"

The team split off, Wrex going to get Lunch, Garrus to calibrate his gun, Liara to the medical area while Peter and Tali went to his personal area.

"Thanks again for helping out with the data on the Geth, Peter" Tali said earnestly

"Hey, if there's anybody you should be thanking, it's Shepard" Peter said modestly "After all, he's the one who agreed to help"

"But you volunteered willingly" Tali said "You were the first to jump in to help without a second thought"

"That's what friends do Tali" Peter said light-heartedly "Kaidan and Liara also helped"

"I already thanked them as well" Tali said "And they all said the same thing"

"Cause we don't need your thanks" Peter said, slinging an arm over her shoulder. Tali squirmed a bit from the touch, a slight blush on her cheeks at the casualness of Peter

"Friends do things for each other and hardly ever ask anything in turn" Peter said "So I'm always willing to help if ya need me"

Tali just smiled "Thanks Peter"

"Now come on" Peter said a bit excited "We're starting Arc reactor lessons today, remember?"

Now Tali was walking with a jump in her step. Ever since mentioning this device and its capabilities back on the Citadel, Tali had been curious to see what it can truly do in person.

Whenever Peter spoke of this device, he always described as a true technological piece of art. That it had taken nearly two years to fully comprehend and master on his own. Not that he didn't understand it at first. No it was keeping it together, stable and strong like Tony had mastered that was the challenge. Tony may have given him a few pointers, but Peter set it upon himself to discover everything on his own, just as Stark had done.

"Say Tali" Peter said, now arriving at his little work station "Have you been sleeping well? You've been a little out of it"

"Oh...well" Tali rubbed her arm nervously bit "I guess you could say that it's been a bit to…quiet for my taste"

"What do you mean?" Spider-man asked, sitting down on one side of the table, Tali on the other

"Shepard asked something like that as well" Tali said "You see back on the Flotilla where I lived most of my life, it was always crowded and always loud. When you went to sleep, if you heard a loud whirring noise then that's the sound that everything is working fine and functional. The ship is top shape and there aren't any problems. If you don't hear anything, then you know there's a problem and you have to go and fix it"

"Man" Spider-man's respect of Tali and her species just went up a few pegs "So does is it because the Normandy engine is always silent?"

"Yes" Tali said "I find it so jarring honestly. An engine as silent as a ghost. The Normandy truly is the most piece of technology in the galaxy"

"Hmm" Spider-man hummed in agreement, pulling out multiple blueprints making Tali chortle somewhat

"Wow Peter, you really are old fashioned" Tali said

"Hey what I'm about to show you" Peter said dramatically "Is top secret. This is a little project between you and me, two friends on the road to creating one of the greatest feats in science today"

Tali giggled at Peter's 'acting' abilities. Taking a blueprint out of Peter's hand, Tali began examining the makings of an Arc reactor thoroughly.

She was surprised at how difficult it was to understand some of these terms. Being a Quarian, she was taught at a young age many different forms of science engineering. Tali knew a great deal about metals and other element and compounds that go into constructing various engines.

This however looked to be a real challenge. Some of these terms and steps she didn't even understand.

"I just want to give you a heads up Tali" Peter said "This is not a simple project. My friend and mentor had to create an entirely new element to perfect this technology. The components for materials may be simple enough but the element itself. That there will be the challenge"

Tali blinked a bit at the very serious tone in Peter's voice.

"Are you up for it?" Peter asked

Tali stared at the vigilante, shaking her head quickly

"No" Tali said determinedly "I'm ready for this"

Peter grinned at her enthusiasm

"Let's get started then"

A few days later

The Normandy at long last returned to the Citadel.

After travelling across the galaxy dealing with so many missions involving Geth, pirates, mercenaries and plants that shall not be mentioned, it was good to be finally back on the Citadel to relax.

"Ah, so good to be back" Spider-man sighed happily, sling shooting across the skyline.

'Man, I can't believe I miss this so much' Peter said, crawling up a building wall, jumping to reach the top 'Guess being out in space makes you appreciate the simple things in life'

Peter chortled to himself

'Right' he thought 'Web swinging hundreds of feet in the air is totally one of the simple things in life'

Spider-man landed atop a building, plopping down to sit on the edge.

Reaching in for his small bag e carried with him, Peter pulled out a PB and J sandwich.

"With the crusts cut off" Peter sighed in content, taking a large bite "Mmm, Not like Aunt May's magic but that always hits the spot"

Spider-man's feet dangled from the edge whilst he himself leaned onto his thighs with his arms.

Peter sighed once more, overlooking the various vehicles flying above the Citadel

'How long has it been now?' Peter thought somberly 'Four months? Six months? Man it's too hard to tell time here'

His thoughts strayed back to home, back to Aunt May, to the Avengers.

Was anyone even aware of his disappearance? He did have his Avengers ID card on him when he vanished, so shouldn't that send an immediate notification of him disappearing? He honestly hoped so.

'If anyone could find me' Peter mused with amusement 'It'd be Wolverine. Crazy guy always finds himself in these types of situations just as much as I do'

His thoughts were cut off at the familiar sound of C-sec.

"Ah, been meaning to stretch my legs" Peter said, instantly diving down to web swing towards the sound of trouble

Up ahead, Peter noticed a billowing cloud of black smoke coming from a burning building.

"Oh man" Spider-man murmured

The building was practically engulfed in flames.

Down below, multiple people were being rushed out of the building from the first floor, firefighters rushing in right into the fire.

Spider-man jumped down, landing beside a human, Turian and Salarian C-sec officers.

"Greetings officers" Spider-man said jovially

"Spider-man!" They exclaimed in shock

"That's my name, don't wear it out" Peter remarked, looking towards the burning building "What's the situation here guys?"

"An accidental miscalculation" A nearby Salarian coughed, making the four turn their head to him

"What do you mean?" The Turian officer inquired

"This is one of the various science divisions of the Citadel" The Salarian explained "I'm a scientist here. Many different experiments done here. Many new opportunities"

"But what happened?" The human officer asked

"A miscalculation on our part" The Salarian ruefully admitted "Dealing with various unknown elements. Lead to fire"

"It's ok, Doc" Peter said comfortingly "These things can happen. Trust me, I've been on the receiving ends of these situations as well"

The Salarian was about to reply when several other scientists began shouting

"BY THE GODDESS" An Asari scientist cried out in horror "THE CHILDREN ARE STILL UP THERE"

This alarmed the web head, who ran right up to the group who were panicking

"What Floor?" Peter demanded

"They were at the top floor" A human explained frantically, eyes still on the fire

"Top floor" A Salarian said "They were last seen with the head doctor of this facility"

"That's my cue" Spider-man didn't even hesitate, rushing at the building with all his might, ignoring the cries of those who told him to stop. Jumping up, Spider-man used one of the hovering 'firetrucks' to attach a web line to swing right into the top floor.

Spider-man's reflexes instantly kicked in, expertly weaving through the fallen pillars, pipes, debris and fire to land in a clear spot.

"HELLO" Spider-man shouted through the roar of the fire "IS THERE ANYONE THERE?"

The answer he got was his Spider-sense warning him to jump forward to dodge the falling rubble.

"Damn" Peter murmured, trying his best as to not to inhaling the multiple mixing fumes in the air.

Peter's eyes spotted an oddly shaped head figure using a fire extinguisher in front of a partially opened door.

Spider-man flipped and dodged his way towards what he guessed was a Salarian.

His guess was proven correct when he saw that it was a Salarian.

"Hey" Peter said, making the Salarian jump a bit from his sudden appearance "Calm down, I'm here to help"

The Salarians eyes widened momentarily before recomposing.

"Glad to see the Spider-man of the Citadel here to help" The Salarian said in his species' quick speech pattern "Came just when needed most"

"I heard there were children here, doctor" Spider-man said

"Correct you are" the Salarian opened the door behind to reveal a closet of at least a dozen clearly frightened children.

"Hey kids" Spider-man said kindly "Let's get you out of here"

"How do you intend on getting us out?" The Salarian calmly asked, taking out a nearby fire before tossing the extinguisher

"I'll lead us out" Spider-man said determinedly "Follow my lead…."

"Ah, brief introductions, of course" The Salarian said eccentrically "Mordin Solus"

"Spider-man" Peter said, looking to the children "Ok kids, follow us, stay close together, and we'll all be fine"

Though the kids were frightened, with the promising words of the hero and the scientist, they began following Mordin, while peter covered the back

"Keep going straight" Spider-man said from behind

"How so confident?" Mordin asked curiously

"Trust me, I know what I'm doing" Spider-man said back confidently

They soon saw a window ahead.

"There, that'll do" Spider-man said "Ok guys, gather around the window"

The group did as they were told, watching with some awe as Spider-man literally pushed a reinforced wall down, creating a large gaping hole in the side of the building. Granted the fire had severely weakened the infrastructure of the place, but still.

"OK kids, huddle around each other" Spider-man saw their confused and worrisome expressions

"Trust the good hero now kids" Mordin said kindly "He came here to save us"

The children obeyed their requests, all of them now grouped closely together. Spider-man instantly secured them closely together with webbing, making sure it was tight enough but not too tight as to where they could remove it immediately after.

"Ok kids" Spider-man said softly "I want you all to close your eyes and keep them closed until I tell you to open them. Can you all do that for me?"

The kids all nodded, closing their eyes tightly. Spider-man created a birdcage like net above the kids, lifting them up with his super strength. Some of them squeaked out in fright but remained silent as Spider-man successfully positioned himself on a spot outside the building wall without disturbing them too much.

Once in position, Spider-man began extending the web line connected to them lowering it down to the ground.

Mordin watch on with awe and fascination, taking multiple notes in his head.

"Truly fantastic" The scientist murmured

The little act of heroism was eventually seen by practically everyone there.

Many watched with gaping mouths and relieved expressions, especially since the parents of said children were present.

The kids at last reached the bottom and were immediately swarmed by paramedics, officers and parents as they all were carried away from the inferno.

Spider-man leapt back into the building to retrieve the last occupant.

"Truly admirable, Spider-man" Mordin said excitedly "Unparalleled strength, dexterity, balance, reflexes unlike anything I've ever seen"

"Yeah" Peter sighed in fondness "I get that a lot"

And then his Spider-sense blared

"Time to go" Spider-man said hurriedly, grabbing the scientist, jumping out of the building in time to avoid the explosive consuming fire

"A breathtaking experience" Mordin said aloud "Must do research on it"

"Yeah, you get right on that doc" Spider-man said landing before the now collapsing building

"Ha" Mordin sighed in disappoint "Such a shame. So many experiments and tests gone. All my work incinerated save for this"

Mordin held up a vial that stunned Spider-man speechless.

Within the vial was a black substance. A substance whose motion and appearance was eerily similar to that of something he had been studying back on the Normandy.

"Hey Doc" Spider-man approached the Salarian "Can you tell me where you got that?"

Mordin stared inquisitively at the arachnid hero

Later on that day

"Truly a spectacular display of heroism…."

"Just came right and literally went head first into the fire!"

"He saved all of those kids and Solus all in one go. That was incredible"

"I don't care what anyone else says about the guy, he's a hero in my book"

"He came in when we needed help most. For that, we send our thanks to him"

The multiple videos of civilians and C-sec officers talking about today's event ended, with camera blinking over to a news crew of a human male, Asari and Salarian male sitting at the desk

"Once more, the Spider-man has performed acts of heroism that simply cannot be described" The Asari news anchor began "Though his appearances have been rather sporadic in the Citadel, news of his exploits across the galaxy are being seen and heard everywhere"

"You're correct in that regard, Alia" The Human anchorman said "Just recently, Spider-man was seen alongside the first ever Human Spectre, John Shepard on Feros, saving the colony from a Geth attack"

"And now he has returned here yet again to continue his heroic actions" The Salarian now took over "It was not too long ago that Spider-man was here just a few short weeks ago taking on the super criminal Sakoln the Shocker. A brilliant Salarian who sadly turned his genius to crime. A spectacular clash occurred between the two, with Spider-man incapacitating Shocker before he was taken away by the authorities"

Now the screen turned off, the crew of the Normandy turning back to see a very bashful Spider-man.

"Aw man" Peter said in an odd voice with a red face "They said that about me? Oh, it's not that serious"

"Seriously" Ashley said with half lidded eyes, though there was smirk as well "That's your response"

"I don't know" Spider-man said half heartedly "I never got this amount of love in my life from the media. Like ever. It's usually Spider-menace this, Spider-criminal that, evil mass murderer. The usual"

"The usual?" Shepard said in clear shock "How in the hell did a guy like you get a rep like that?"

"More like a smear campaign" Spider-man said offhandedly "Where I come from they hate me no matter what I do"

"Geez Spidey" Kaidan said, his face making a curious expression "Where exactly did this take place?"

"New York" Spider-man answered "Good ole Jolly Jameson just loves trashing me, from when I first put on this mask to even now"

"And this is all from your time in this New York?" Garrus said

"Yup" Spider-man said

"Why is it that it feels like right now you have an incredibly low self-esteem" Wrex noted

Peter laughed at that "Oh I always have a low self-esteem"

Now everyone deadpanned at that, save for Liara who actually knew of Peter's thoughts on himself. She was in his mind at one point.

"Right" Garrus drawled out "Your self-confidence is so high, I can make a monument out of it….unless when it comes to girls"

"Oh you just love bringing that up" Spider-man complained gaining laughs from the group

"Still" Tali said "It's amazing what you did today. I can't imagine how happy the parents are"

"Yeah" Ashley patted him on the shoulder "Good job on that"

"Aw shucks guys" Peter rubbed the back of his neck, looking down to hide his red face "You're making me blush"

"There was a time where I would have called you tough" Wrex said "But now I can't say that anymore"

"Oh what would you know Pinky"

A tick mark appeared over Wrex's eye "What was that?"

"You heard me"

"Alright enough" Shepard said, laughing "You don't want to goad the guy into eating you Peter"

"Oh come on, like he would" Peter scoffed tauntingly before noticing Wrex's intense face "Would he?"

"Do you want a verbal or physical answer?" Wrex said calmly

"Sorry Pinkie Pie, not in the mood" Spider-man said, immediately slipping on his mask for a mad dash towards the exit

"THAT'S IT, YOU'RE DEAD" Wrex roared comically, pursuing the web head leaving everyone laughing at the rampaging Krogan chasing after the nimble Web head

Later on that day

'Weird day' Spider-man murmured, casually walking down a long white hallway with a metal box in hand.

He had entered this building through the window on the far end of this corridor.

"Well" Spider-man said to himself, standing before a door "Let's do this"

The door opened revealing a rather cluttered yet organized lab(You ever seen one of those types of rooms? I have, and it's really weird).

"Ah Spider-man" Mordin exclaimed jovially from the table from which he was currently working at "So good to see you, please, come, come, many questions and experiments to do"

"Glad to see your doing fine Doc" Spider-man said, setting down the box on the table

"Fire problematic but manageable" Mordin waved off "Time in STG trained me to be hardened, easy to handle simple fires"

"Right" Spider-man drew out

"So tell me Spider-man" Mordin chattered away "Busy being hero of the citadel, would not think you would have time for this 'important matter' as you have dubbed"

"Hey, I learned how to multi-task at a young age" Spider-man said, unclipping the locks on the box he brought "Anyhow, tell me doctor, remember that black vial that you recovered from the fire?"

"Yes, yes" Mordin said "Interesting specimen. Very difficult to analyze"

"Then have I got a surprise for you" Spider-man opened the metal box. Tentatively, Spider-man pulled out a large, circular vial containing…

"Is that…" Mordin murmured, his eyes widening with amazement and fascination

"Yeah, it's a bigger version of 'the specimen' as you call it" Spider-man said, placing the vial before Mordin

"This is truly remarkable' Mordin began speaking even more frantically "I have studied many species, sub species, plants, races, but this is truly a work of art just waiting to be understood, secrets that are waiting to be unlocked"

"Easy Doc' Spider-man interrupted with a chuckle "You don't want to give yourself an aneurism"

"But why come here?" Mordin inquired, now his tone holding a slight edge to it

"I've heard that Salarians are probably the most brilliant scientists in the galaxy" Spider-man said humbly "I've been studying this thing for some time now and I'm beginning to understand its basic functions. But I figured that I could use some help to speed t he process along"

"This is important to you?"

"Not necessarily" Spider-man admitted lamely "This is more like a side project that I've been working on while helping out Shepard in hunting down Saren"

"Hmmm" Mordins expression morphed into one of excitement "Chance to work with the Spider-man on a scientific experiment. How can I say no?"

The next day

"UGH" Spider-man whined, web swinging once more across the skyline of the Citadel "This is feeling like one of those filler episodes in a TV serial. WHY IS THERE SO LITTLE CRIME TODAY?!"

'Not that I don't mind' Spider-man thought to himself 'Hmm, guess those missions have been keeping me busy. Geez, I know I'm a thrill seeker, but my god I hope I don't become addicted'

Spider-man flipped in the air, pulling up his sleeve to check his wrist watch.

"Lunch time then" Spider-man said, switching to his Omni-tool as he landed in the middle of a crowded street, making everyone jump back in surprise at the hero's sudden appearance.

Peter casually began to walk, ignoring the stares and shouts of occasional praise from passerby's.

"Hello?" Said the voice of Garrus

"Hey Garrus" Spider-man said "You up for some lunch?"

One hour later

Currently, Spider-man and Garrus sat atop one of the building presiding over the presidium.

The two friends casually ate their lunch they'd gotten out from the Manhattan Shack, savoring the silence.

"Ah, Nothing like a good sandwich to nurse the hunger" Garrus said, chomping down on the last bite of his meal

"Mmmm" Spider-man hummed in agreement, munching down on his roast beef and pastrami sandwich.

"Why is Grimlock so good at this?" Spider-man said through a full mouth

"Seriously" Garrus agreed "Seen him there so many times and still I can't believe a Krogan chef is one of the best chefs in the galaxy"

"Wonder who else Alfonse will find" Peter pondered aloud

"Probably a Varren for a waiter" Garrus said, nudging his friend with his elbow "And a Vorcha for a host"

Peter snorted at the thought of it

"I wouldn't be surprised if he manages to pull it off" Peter said "Hell, I'm hoping he does now"

The banter between the two ended when Shepard chimed in through their comms.

"Uh…Guys" Shepard greeted weirdly

The two shared a look of 'huh? What kind of call is this?'

"Hey Shepard" Garrus said slowly, unsure of what exactly is going on "You need us for something?"

"Well…I'm here with Liara, Ash and Wrex" Shepard said "We were having a nice lunch near the Councils tower. Then we heard of some commotion happening not too far from us. So we decided to check it out and…well…I think this situations falls more into your category"

"Our category?" Garrus said "We have a category?"

"Yeah, weird and crazy" Shepard stated "Spider-man gets crazy and shit we'd rather not handle this kind of stuff"

"What the hell falls into that category?" Peter asked incredulously

"It's a work in progress. Look can you guys just get over here" Shepard said, somewhat pleadingly "I don't think this qualifies as Spectre work"

"Ok ya big baby, we're coming" Peter joked

Garrus sighed "I'm ready…kind of"

"Oh wonderful" Spider-man exclaimed, pulling his friend close before web swinging towards Shepards location using his Omni-tool as his guide

"I take that back" Garrus groaned miserably, his eyes shut tight "I'd take Shepards horrible driving skills over this"

"Oh come on. It's not that bad"

Spider-man and Garrus arrived to wherever it was Shepard was and saw him with Liara, Ashley and Wrex looking straight ahead.

"Hey guys" Spider-man went up to them "You called"

"Hmm" Shepard crossed his arms, not glancing at the web head "What do you make of that?"

Garrus and Peter had inquisitive looks before looking ahead to see…

"Huh" Garrus said, tilting his head "I….I honestly don't know what to make of that"

"I have this strange feeling that I've seen something like this before" Spider-man stated, crossing his arms in thought "But for some reason, this is still entirely new to me"

"I'm curious what that guy is on" Wrex pondered "That must be some really good shit"

And of course many would believe so. What they saw made even the C-sec second guess themselves on how to handle this scenario.

There, in the middle of a large crowd was a Volus on metal stilts a few stories high with equally long metal arms and was surrounded by a blue aura, indicating that this Volus was a biotic.

"I AM THE STILT VOLUS" The short, dwarf like alien shouted through a speaker attached to his suit "ALL TREMBLE BEFORE THE SIGHT OF MY AWE INSPIRING FORM"

"Come on" Peter said, might as well get a more up close look

By the time the gang got there, the 'Stilt Volus' was parading around in a circle making a speech about how amazing he is.

"Things just keeping getting stranger and stranger" Liara said "I am not so sure this is good for my health"

"It's ironic how I can handle the whole Sakoln thing" Shepard wryly admitted "But this? This is just a new level of ridiculousness"

"What about the Thorian?" Ashley asked with a shudder

"That was just disgusting" Shepard grimaced "Didn't we all agree to Never speak of that thing again"

"Yeah, seriously I'd rather not remember that" Wrex said, shaking his head to get the images out of his head "I'd rather keep the lunch I had in today, thank you"

"So…." Garrus said, eyes not leaving the tall Volus "What are we gonna do about this?'

"Any ideas Spidey?" Ashley asked

"Hmmm" Peter rubbed his chin in thought "This will take some serious planning and timing that require a great deal of focus as well as calculation in momentum"

Wordlessly, Spider-man stepped forward and stuck his leg out in front of the path of one of the limbs.

The limb hit Spider-man, not even budging the web head. The Volus on the other hand….

"Whoa" The Tripped up Volus waved his arms around frantically in a comedic fashion "Whoa..whoa WHOAAAAAAAAAAA"

The Volus keeled over and landed flat on his face, unmoving.

The crowd within the vicinity stared blankly at the Volus before glancing over to Spider-man.

Before long Shepard's expression dawned with realization

"Oh, you were being sarcastic"

"Yes, yes I was" Peter said proudly

"I think that fulfills our weird shit quota for the day" Garrus said in finality "Come on, Alfonse is hosting a marathon of Game of Thrones back at the Manhattan Shack. No spoilers this time Shepard, Peter. You jerks nearly ruined it for me"

"Ok ya big baby" Ashley chided playfully "We won't ruin anything for ya"

"But we will give you a heads up" Shepard said with an innocent but clearly evil smile "Prepare to cry…a lot"

Garrus blanched while Wrex huffed.

"Hmph, I'd like to see them try" Wrex said in confidence

Later on that night

"THAT SHIT EATING PYJAK" Wrex roared along with a couple of other outcries of shock and rage as Ned Stark was decapitated

"Oh this is too good" Peter said, chortling from his seat as he recorded the entire bars reaction to Game of Thrones

"This gonna make a nice album" Shepard said with a grin, taking a swig of beer

"Ah, so many memories already" Kaidan said fondly

"Man am I glad you guys brought me here" Joker said cheerfully, laughing at the priceless expressions of all aliens and some humans "Shit, I may just spend my next shore leave here just to see this"

"Can't disagree on that temptation" Ashley said clanking her beer with Joker "This is what I call entertainment"

"Still though" Joker said "Can't believe they killed off Sean Bean….again"

"I'm pretty sure he had a contract regarding that" Peter suggested

The entire shack was abuzz as every occupant spoke with one another rapidly.

"Well, I've gotta go" Peter said

"Where are you off to?" Shepard inquired

"Just some….business I gotta take care of" Peter said

"That's not vague at all" Kaidan deadpanned

"It's scientific" Peter said "Been studying a certain something that I got from Feros"

"Huh?" Ashley was somewhat alarmed "Did you take back something dangerous?"

"What?" Peter waved his hands "No, no of course not. It's nothing serious like that at all. It's a docile lifeform that….well to be honest I don't know what it is"

"Are you sure you should be studying this thing?" Shepard asked with some concern

"Hey, if anything I'm making sure that nothing happens near the Normandy or around you guys" Peter said earnestly

"What if whatever it is your studying turns out to be a face hugger?" Shepard said jokingly "It can latch on to your face and you'll be an unwilling mother"

"Ew" Peter said "Just Ew, you sicko"

The humans of the crew all laughed as Peter exited the restaurant.

"Ok" Peter glanced around, making sure the coast was clear.

He then jumped high into the air, now web swinging while changing into his Spider suit in the air. Thankfully, he had his pack on him giving him a place to put his civilian clothes. One last flip in the air, he slid his mask on and now was in full gear.

"Let's go visit the good doctor"

Later on

"This is truly a spectacular specimen Spider-man" Mordin said excitedly "It is without a doubt a living creature that has been disconnected from the galaxy for thousands of years. There could be secrets buried within its DNA for all we know"

"Wonder what we could get out of it?" Spider-man said aloud, observing the slick substance bounce about in its container. The thing seemed to briefly acknowledge that Peter was watching it before simmering down with brief movements

"Regardless, I am having a grand time with this" Mordin said honestly "Tell me, how soon do you expect to depart, Spider-man?"

"I dunno" Peter said with a shrug "Until we get a hit on Saren, we're grounded"

"Then best to use time wisely and efficiently"

"You said it Doc" Spider-man said, getting up "So, aside from my little science experiment, have you got several dozen swimming in that head of yours?'

"Ah, please Spider-man" Mordin said modestly "Better to have one or two ideas at a time. But still, have quite a few"

"We've got time" Spider-man said

Several hours later

"So if we just adjust it here" Spider-man said, tweeking a device with a small tool exuding a type of flame.

There was a small spark on the device, but now further backlash.

"Let's try it out"

Spider-man lifted up the armor piece and slid it onto his wrist nearly reached his elbow by a few inches. He locked the piece in place, shaking his arm a bit to test out how secure it was. Once seeing that it held in place, Peter raised hand and made his iconic hand gesture. Out shot a bullet of webbing that tore through the wall.

"BRAVO" Mordin exclaimed "Truly a marvelous experiment. Oh this was an experience"

"Thanks a ton for this Doc" Spider-man said "With this, I'm practically set with my new armor"

"Oh, you were the main reason I did this" Mordin admitted "A chance to work with the legendary Spider-man who happens to be a scientist. You could call this the highlight of my year"

"And for that" Spider-man pulled up his Omni-tool, bringing up a certain file before sending it to Mordin.

Mordins Omni-tool appeared. Curious, the Salarian glanced at his Omni-tool, wondering what he had just received.

Opening the file, Mordins eyes widened with shock and glee. He began stammering incoherently, or was he speaking so rapidly, Peter couldn't register what it was the mad scientist was saying. Who cares, regardless of that, it was clear that Mordin was about to have a scientific aneurism of sheer joy from what he had gotten.

"Take care Doc" Peter patted his fellow scientist on the shoulder "I'll see ya tomorrow"

The next day

"WHAT?!" Spider-man shouted in the middle of the wrecked lab he and Mordin had been in the past few days "WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT WAS ROBBED?!"

"It was not a robbery necessarily" Mordin said casually, picking up several undamaged vials. "It was more of a message. Directed towards me"

"Huh?" Spider-mans head tilted "Is this some of that past STG stuff you've told me about?"

"Yes" Mordin said grimly "Made multiple enemies over the years. A problematic occurrence but one to be expected in a career such as that"

When Mordin approached their main work bench, alarm was the first expression that appeared on his face.

"Oh dear, Oh dear!" He said a bit frantically "This is truly a tragedy"

"What?" Spider-man went up to the table to find a large shattered circular vial

Peter stared blankly at the broken vial, before casually pointing up

"Isn't that where?"

"Yes" Mordin said instantly "Yes it was"

"Oh great" Spider-man said exasperatedly "Wonderful, all that work gone in the blink of an eye"

"This is a tragedy" Mordin said dramatically "It appears that I must leave for the time being. Deal with this problem personally"

Spider-man's attention now turned to the Salarian, momentarily forgetting the missing black sentient life form.

"You sure about that Doc?" Spider-man asked "I mean, you've helped me out a lot these past few days"

Mordin smiled at the web-head

"No, you already have your concerns and missions" Mordin said "You have given me something that I value greatly"

Mordin extended his hand

"A friend"

Spider-man blinked at that. His face morphed into a smile beneath his mask. Though Mordin didn't see it, he could feel it, especially with the strong handshake he had gotten from the web head

"You ever need any help with anything Doc, don't hesitate to call"

"The same to you my friend" Mordins expression then brightened "Ah before I forget"

Mordin pulled out a data chip from a compartment in his suit. He held it up for Spider-man.

"The finished product" Mordin said with a grin "There is always room for improvement, you have your friends on the Normandy for that. But with this, it is ready"

"Sweet" Spider-man said, taking the chip out of Mordins hand with a grateful nod "Now Shepard will get off my ass about the whole armor thing"

The two shared a laugh before a brief moment of silence.

"This isn't goodbye right?"

"Hmm? Oh no no no, only see you later. Take care Spider-man. I will see you again"

"Right back at ya Doc" Spider-man said, standing on the spot whilst Mordin departed

Looking around, Spider-man sighed in disappointment

"Man, and I was having so much fun" Peter said, now shuffling over to a locker

Opening it, he grabbed his bag that contained some of the items he had brought here along with multiple new little additions to his utility belt, web shooters and armor.

What he failed to noticed was the brief slither of a black substance that went into one of the pockets of the bag.

Peter packed up whatever he had left here before leaving to return to the Normandy.

The Normandy

Peter was alone, tinkering with an odd cylinder device that was glowing. There were multiple wires coming from this odd contraption.

It was actually odd to see the Normandy so empty. He was only aware of Joker, Shepard, Garrus and maybe Wrex or Kaidan.

Either than that, the ship was practically empty….it was really weird. Like the Avengers tower being empty.

Peter sighed. It's official, he was bored shitless.

He had done a nearly three hour patrol, taking down muggers, robbers and the usual nonsense.

"Hmm, is it wrong to think that I'm craving some seriously death defying action" Spider-man murmured

"You wouldn't be wrong in that regard"

Peter looked back and saw Shepard and Garrus

The two sat down around the table Peter was working at.

"What's that?" Shepard asked, fascinated by the odd gadget before him

"A little something special I've been working on" Peter said, poking and prodding at the machine "I've been helping Tali understand it more and it's keep my science skills sharp"

"Your science skills sharp?" Garrus chortled "That's weird, but you've said weirder"

"Thanks" Peter said, chipper and all

Shepard just had a humored smirk on his face at the interaction between the two

"You know, sometimes it feels like I recruited five year olds"

"Like you're one to talk" Garrus and Peter said together.

The two looked at each other momentarily before all three of them burst into laughter.

It was a rare kind of laughter. The kind where you feel like there's nothing wrong. It's just a couple friends spending time together.

"Man, I don't know why that was so funny" Peter said, still shaking with laughter

"It was just one of those moments I guess" John said happily, wiping a tear away from the excessive chuckling

"Ah, that felt good" Garrus said with a content sight

The trio shared a moment of silence, enjoying each others presence

"So boss" Peter glanced over to the commander "What's our next move"

Shepard laced his fingers together, sighing.

"We've got nothing" Shepard shamefully admitted "No leads, no idea on his whereabouts, nada, zippo, jack shit"

"Yeesh" Garrus said "Easy there commander, we'll get Saren, we'll get him"

"If my memory serves me correctly" Shepard said with a smirk "Wasn't there a certain Turian who was a bit hell bent on bringing Saren in"

"Yes, I heard that he was quite handsome and was an amazing shot. Why?" Garrus said smugly

"Hmmm" Shepard hummed, leaving it at that

"So Peter" Garrus said, Segwaying "How's your armor coming along?"

"Actually, it's nearly done" Peter said proudly "Have nearly everything functioning, even got my color theme down"

"Really?" Shepard said with anticipation "Knowing you, it's going a be a blaring red and blue"

"You wouldn't be wrong in that regard" Peter said, wagging his finger at Shepard with a grin "But who knows, I may surprise ya"

"Hope it'll be a good one" Shepard said

"Come on Shepard" Peter said heartedly "It's me we're talking about"

"Then I know you won't let us down" Shepard said confidently "Go get some rest you guys. Who knows, tomorrow we might ship out"

"Roger that Cap" Spider-man said, catching himself in what he just referred to

"Cap?" Shepard looked at the new York native with an arched, amused eyebrow

"Well" Peter shrugged "You are technically the captain of the ship. That , and you remind of another good man"

"Oh?" Garrus said "And who is this 'other' good man?"

"You probably wouldn't know him" Peter said "His name is Steve Rogers. And he is one of the greatest men that I've ever known"

"High praise coming from you" Shepard said "Think we can meet this guy one day?"

"Hopefully" Peter said somberly "Hopefully"

Transition

Peter was fast asleep, at his work station. Thanks to his balance and dexterity, he managed to remain upright and seated on his stool while resting his head on one of his hands.

Before him was the completed suit of armor that he had been working on with meticulous detail for the past few months during his time here on the Normandy. At long last it was complete. There was some minor details that could be worked on but he'll focus on that for another time. Right now, he was just waiting for the next mission to use it.

The entire room was silent.

Splorch

A life form fell out from its resting place, raising what could be perceived to be its head. The thing glanced around the room, taking in everything it saw when its 'eyes', landed on the sleeping form of one Peter Parker.

Seeing its long awaited opportunity, the creature slowly made its way over to the superhero, easily climbing up the chair.

Then it began.

The creature latched onto Peter's leg before slowly but surely spreading itself out along Peter's body. The black slime like sentient encased his legs in a matter of seconds, now moving towards his upper body.

The whole time, Spider-man felt absolutely nothing. The life form smoothly glided upwards eventually encasing his entire body.

In an instant, the creature was bombarded with all the memories of the human that it currently encased.

The symbiote was actually stunned to what it was receiving. An alternate reality? This being had come from an alternate universe?! This will make the perfect host.

Next thing Spider-man knew, his eyes snapped open to see himself hanging upside down before a building with the mirrors showing his reflection.

"What in the…?" Peter slurred, his vision momentarily blurry as he got his bearings together "Where am I?"

Peter looked forward, taking in his new appearance.

"Oh I get it" Peter said sleepily "This must be a dream"

Then of course, the sounds of…

"Even in my dreams, I have to stop crime" Spider-man whined "Geez man, can I get just a little reprieve. Seriously, there must be somebody up there that hates me"

Descending down, Peter saw a group of Batarians harassing a human and an Asari couple. The man was on the ground, riddled with scratches and bruises whilst the Asari was held firmly in place by two of the Batarians with a gun pressed up against her temple. The Asari trembled in fear as tears poured out, her eyes never leaving the sight of her beat up boyfriend.

"So gents" The lead Batarian said with sinister glee, pulling out a blade "I say it's high time we close out the night"

There were shouts of agreement when…

"Oh but the night is still young you guys" A taunting voice from above "I think it's only fair you let these two continue their time together"

And like that, the leader of this little was suddenly snagged by a white line and pulled the alien up who screamed like a little girl.

All eyes widened with shock as Spider-man dropped down, landing before them in his new black suit.

"I know" Spider-man said cockily "I look really good in black"

With lightning speed that even Peter didn't know he was capable of, he webbed six Batarians to a building wall not too far from them

"Uh" Spider-man said "I didn't know I could do that…that easily"

Snapping out of stupor, Peter kneeled down to the human

"Hey man are you ok?" Spider-man said in clear concern

After quickly taking the two to a nearby C-sec station, Spider-man swung away in his new outfit, realization dawning onto him.

"Ok, this suit…..How in the hell am I gonna explain this to the crew?"

May feel of a bit of an abrupt turn but eh, I wasn't legitimately planning anything like crazy serious.

But I did enjoy writing this chapter as evident on how fast I updated it.

This is basically a filler and a prelude of things to come like Mordin and Peter's friendship, the symbiote cause come on, we're all spider-man fans here, the long awaited spider armor and so much more.

I don't think I need to say anything else except for you guys to keep up your votes regarding who survives Virmire.

Oh and I really want to give away something REALLY awesome but I will keep it hidden because the best surprises are worth waiting for.

And speaking of surprises

This is how I do things, call it a long annoying effect to draw out the anticipation

This world is unusual

At least, that's what he thinks of it.

But in all honesty, where he was, was the least of his concern.

What mattered was WHO he was.

'Who am I?' the figure in the black cloak and hood asked mentally 'Why am I here?'

The figure continued to walk on the path up the snowy mountain.

He had come here earlier and for some reason, just stayed. Something was calling him here. A familiar feeling from within.

"Like that makes any sense" The figure said to himself, voice devoid of emotion

He was just so confused. What hell is going on here? Where is he and why can't he remember anything?

His train of thought derailed when several red shots flew past his head.

Glancing ahead, the person saw a dozen of humanoid looking machines in front of a large complex building of sorts that went into the mountain. It's most distinguishing feature was the one glowing eye with its dome like head.

"Huh" he titled his head, the robots now charging forward weapons trained on him

It was clear that they wanted to fight.

He may as well oblige.

Channeling the latent power within, the man whipped out his left hand and then his right and from light and darkness, two weapons shaped like keys appeared in his hands.

'Oathkeeper' The words of his weapons drifted in his mind 'Oblivion….Keyblades…you…..are….the key…of Destiny'

What does it all mean?

The boy grit his teeth in frustration as he charged at the robotic humanoids, twirling Oblivion momentarily before leaping up high into the air.

With a single cross slash, the man in black sliced down two of these things in half, quickly deflecting several shots before throwing Oathkeeper with all his might followed by Oblivion on both sides.

The Keyblades spun rapidly, tearing through the machines, vanishing in midair after the last one fell before they both reappeared in his hands once more.

Seeing that the coast was clear, he called them off and they disappeared.

Of course, that's when he heard the roar of a beast that he couldn't describe. The roar was heard throughout the area, actually rattling some of the buildings a bit.

For some reason, this compelled the figure to start running towards the source of the noise.

He didn't know why but, there was something very familiar about what had done that roar.

Meanwhile

The crew of the Normandy sat in their stationary Mako, unsure of what to do.

"Please tell me you all heard that" Garrus dryly remarked

"How could we have not" Ashley quipped

"Any ideas on what that was?" Liara asked a bit nervously

"Don't know" Wrex commented, crossing his arms "Definitely ain't a thresher maw that's for sure, sounded a bit bigger"

"Right" Shepard said wryly "There's a reassuring thought. Something's up here that sounds bigger than a thresher maw"

"It could be just the echoes" Tali said lamely

"I'm going with that idea" Kaidan said quickly

"Alright team" Shepard said, now serious "Let's just focus on getting to Peak 13. We still need to apprehend Benezia"

The conversation ended when the roar from earlier was heard once more and this time it was closer

"Um…that was the wind right? I mean, it had to have been the wind" Garrus said lightly

"Do you want to stick around to find out?" Wrex questioned

"Nope" Garrus answered instantly

"Agreed" Shepard said, stepping on the acceleration at full force

"Here we go again" Kaidan moaned miserably, clutching his head

The Mako drove across the bridge in the sky that leads back to the colony of Zhu's hope.

The journey went on interrupted until.

"Hold up" Shepard stopped the Mako.

"What's wrong?" Liara asked, slightly worried

Shepard wordlessly moved to exit the Mako gesturing his head for the crew to follow.

The crew, curious, followed out to find a battalion of destroyed Geth troopers, Juggernauts, armatures and crawlers. It was one thing to find a bunch of 'dead' Geth. It was another to see them all sliced apart in pieces.

"O…k" Tali drew out "I normally have no problem in seeing an unmoving Geth, but after everything we've seen and done….this is a little scary"

"Can't disagree with you there" Garrus murmured, kneeling down to pick up a sever Geth limb

"Who in the hell slices up their enemies like this" Shepard said, examining a chopped up Geth Juggernaut

"Do you think that there could be somebody up here taking them out?" Liara suggested

"Maybe" Shepard said "But who in the hell would be up here in this kind of weather to fight Geth

"Commander" Kaidan spoke up "There's really nothing to see here. I think we should move on and get to Peak 13 already"

"You're right" Shepard said "Everybody…"

Was all Shepard managed to say when the roar they heard earlier was heard once more, this time being louder and sounding a much closer.

Ashley looked up first and her jaw dropped in shock and horror.

"Um…guys?" Ashley said weakly, pointing up with a shaky arm

Everyone glanced up and had the same response as Ashley, jaws dropping and bodies freezing in shock.

Above them flew what could only be described as something that can only be found in the most wildest, unrestrained imaginations.

It looked like a type of a large blue dragon with a long, curled tail and twisted, yellow spikes lining its back. Its wings are actually long, five-fingered hands with ornate webbing between the fingers. Each finger sported a short, white claw and the webbing is decorated by a swirling pattern. The underside of the beast was lined by two rows of something that resembled three gold cymbals. Its lower jaw was large, jagged, and yellow, its upper jaw is blue, and its eyes are glowing yellow. White hair was seen the creatures eyes and mouth as it angled down to give the crew a better look at it's face.

The entire team was completely silent as they watched the creature casually glide within the air. It looked majestic but at the same time…menacing

"By the Goddess" Liara murmured "What is that?!"

"Definitely ain't a Thresher" Wrex remarked "But damn…just damn"

"Um Shepard?" Ashley said nervously "I think…"

"Let's just get the hell out of here" Shepard said, reading the Gunnery's thoughts "I'd rather not get the attention of a monster that's a fourth of the size of the Normandy

"Damn straight" Kaidan murmured

They moved quickly towards the Mako, the creature still simply gliding in the air.

Shepard made sure his entire crew got in before he did and was about to enter when he narrowly avoided the shot of a Geth that was barley keeping itself together.

But that was all that was needed to be done as suddenly, the gigantic blue demon in the sky sharply turned to the source of the noise.

"OH SHIT" Shepard exclaimed, jumping into the Mako, rushing to the driver's seat

"Hold on tight" He said aloud and he floored the accelerator

The team barely had enough time to cling onto something as Shepard performed a sharp turn as they literally felt a large wave of sorts rock the Mako

"Oh god" Kaidan paled "Please tell me that was the wind"

"Oh yeah" Shepard said wryly "It was the wind alright"

The creature let out another roar as it now began to pursue the Mako.

As the Mako drove at full speed, the creature was pursuing the vehicle from above.

The creatures cymbals clapped together, the loud sounds being heard from the Normandy itself

"Ok that's new" Garrus said, managing to get up to the gun to see just what that dragon like monster was doing

His eyes practically bulged when he saw fiery spheres seemingly appear out of nowhere from beneath its underbelly. The first few that hit exploded

"OH FUCK" Garrus exclaimed "STEP ON IT SHEPARD"

Shepard did just that, barely managing to stay ahead of the explosion.

"Were those explosions?!" Ashley asked incredulously

"Yes it was" Garrus said fearfully "That thing just dropped explosives at us"

"It can do that?!" Tali said in disbelief

"Oh dear" Garrus squeaked "It's horns are glowing"

The monster spread his wings out with a snap and a roar, lighting bolts descending from up high down onto the ground

"Is that lightning?!" Kaidan said "LIGHTNING?!"

"What the fuck is that thing?!" Wrex asked the question on everyone's mind

"Don't know, Don't care" Shepard said "All I care about is just getting us the hell out of here"

Of course that was not meant to be as the creature began to flap its wings much harder now, getting ahead of the Mako. The clouds ahead obscured the dragon like creature from Garrus's and Shepards sights

"It's gone!" Garrus stated

"What do you mean it's gone?" Tali said in disbelief "How do you lose something that big?!"

"I didn't sign up for this" Kaidan groaned

"Welcome to the club" Shepard quipped

Back with the black cloak

It was close, he could hear and sense it.

Gripping both Oblivion and Oathkeeper tightly in both hands, the figure focused in on the power inside that he had no idea where it was coming from to expand his sense. Though the 'energy' felt familiar, the use of it to create this 'heightened sense' of sorts was new.

That's when he spotted it.

'Heartless' The word floated into his mind

That's what they were called. The beings that came from the darkness of people's hearts. From the worlds that existed.

Creatures without thought but with purpose.

And right now, this one was attempting to do just that.

Feeling a surge of power, the figure crouched down, resting his hands on his knees momentarily before springing up high into the air.

He angled himself to face downward, pointing Oathkeeper forward. The Keyblade glowed a brilliant radiance of light when it began to guide him towards the Heartless known as a Storm Rider.

Back with the crew, they were right now pinned down.

Their Mako had taken a serious hit and they were so close to the facility where Benezia was last heard to have been residing in.

They would have made a break for it had it not been for that damn monster that now "stood" before the entrance.

"Never would have thought we'd go out this early in the game" Kaidan remarked

"We're not dead yet" Shepard said strongly

"Oh sure" Garrus drawled "How much longer do you think until we are? I say five more minutes"

"Not helping Vakarian" Ashley growled right next to him.

"I just need to get into its mouth" Wrex said confidently "Kill it from the inside"

"You're seriously considering that?!" Tali said in fear "That thing will kill you with its lightning before you can even get close"

"Shepard" Liara asked as calmly as possible "Do you have any idea as to how we can get past it?"

"Don't how to kill it" Shepard said the obvious

"No shit" several of them said together

"But we can maybe distract it" Shepard said confidently, his biotics flaring up

"Garrus" Shepard called out "You and I will give the team covering fire while the rest of you guys get inside. It can't focus on all of us at once"

"Oh great" Garrus said, rolling his eyes "Just what I needed for the highlight of my day. Be live bait"

"Kaidan, Tali" Shepard said "You two get ready to run on my command"

The creatures head bobbed back and forth between the two rocks that it had last seen its prey use as hiding spots.

Its eyes snapped over to the sight of two of them running out towards another rocky cover, firing bullets and odd blue energy at it.

The creature became agitated, flaring up its lightning.

It failed to notice the other two making a break for it, successfully running around it to get into Peak 13.

"Wrex, Ash, Liara, go NOW" Shepard said over the comms as he and Garrus quickly reloaded and returned to firing at the behemoth of a beast.

The trio did just that, sprinting as fast they can in the snow to get into the facility.

Liara glanced over to Shepard and Garrus for a moment whom were working in unison to avoid and fire at the monster.

"DUCK"

Liara looked back to a large blue tail suddenly come in and hit her right across the chest and stomach, sending her flying back.

"LIARA" Ashley cried out in horror, seeing the Asari land hard and far from the others

The creature felt something had brushed its tail and turned to face a downed Liara who was struggling to get up.

Liara's vision was blurry as she attempted to sit up with her aching body. Pain was coursing through her, she could barely register as to where she was.

The Asari paleontologist heard distant voices and sounds. She couldn't make out what any of them were saying.

All she was able to make out in her line of sight was a very hazy image of a gigantic blue figure reeling up above her.

It was then that her attention snapped back into place in time to see giant jaws descending onto her.

She closed her eyes, a stray tear escaping. This was the end.

"NOOOOO" Shepard cried out in anger and horror as the monster smashed into the ground, seemingly killing Liara.

"You've got to be kidding me" Garrus murmured, his hands falling to his sides, dropping his gun

"Shepard?" a familiar female voice said from behind

The Spectre and the detective couldn't have turned fast enough to see their newest team member safe and unharmed in the arms of probably the most strangest garments they had ever seen.

The figure holding Liara Bridal style wire a pitch black cloak and hood that completely obscured the face from everyone.

The figure simply stared at them, gently placing Liara to her feet who stumbled a bit but was supported by the person in black.

"Oh" Liara rubbed her head "What happened?"

"It's best you all get out of her now" the figure spoke abruptly, his voice sounding young

"Huh?" Garrus said "what the hell are you talking about?"

"Who are you?" Shepard demanded

The figure completely ignored them as he held Liara up but had its attention focused solely on the groggy heartless who just accidently bashed its head into the ground, stunning it momentarily.

"Did you save my life?"

The man looked at Liara who seemed to be looking a lot better. He simply nodded making Shepard and Garrus relax somewhat.

"You should leave" the man said again "it's not safe here"

"Yeah" Garrus scoffed "That's an understatement"

"Hang on a second?" Shepard said, momentarily forgetting about the dazed monstrosity behind them "Just, who the hell are you? What are you doing here?"

The figure was silent for a few seconds, looking back and forth between Garrus and Shepard.

"I'm here….to take out the Heartless" the figure responded

"Heartless?" Garrus said in confusion, eyes widening with realization "Wait a second, is that what that huge thing is called?! You're here to destroy it?!"

"More or less" the boy said with a shrug

"Are you out of your mind?!" Shepard said "Look at the size of that thing! How old are you anyway? You sound like you belong in high school"

"SHEPARD"

The group were joined by the rest of the Normandy crew who warily eyed the figure in black.

"Shepard, who is this guy?" Kaidan asked, warily eyeing the cloak

"He save my life" Liara said

"He did?" Ashley pointed, unbelieving of that claim "How?"

"It doesn't matter how" The person spoke again "You all need to get inside already"

"And what are you gonna do?" Garrus said "Fight that thing?"

"Wait what?" Wrex spoke up "This little shrimp is gonna fight that freaking flying Thresher Maw?!"

"I'm pretty sure it's something else" Tali murmured

"Listen" The man said more firmly this time "I know you have no idea as to what's happening but you guys need to trust me on this. Leave the Heartless to me"

He didn't even wait for a response as he began to run toward the heartless, seeing as it had now fully recovered from its self-inflicted confusion.

It looked over to its original prey of seven when the Storm Rider spotted something of much greater value and a much greater threat than anything on this world.

That's when it confirmed that this was the threat to be feared on this world.

This person possessed a Keyblade. And not just one but two
