Ok, so the last chapter in my honest opinion was good but it could have been WAY better. There was so much cut from it and me being the idiot that I am, didn't save a separate copy of the original. FUCK ME I'M SO FUCKING STUPID.

Anywho, I am hoping by the time I update this it wouldn't have been as long as my recent chapter. What with a new job and all. College semester was a month away from being over at the time but I know things are only going to get busier. But oh well, that's just what life is all about. So We're nearing the end of the first ME campaign and once that's said and done I'm going to have a bunch of chapter of completely original material(Which isn't true Mass Effect and Spider-man belong to their respective owners).

This will be real fun when I have free reign to fill in the gaps of the three years between the first two games. And let me say this here and now, the three year gap will officially begin after the death of Shepard obviously so it will be more of a three and a half year gap between the end of Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2.

But until that time, we've still gotta finish the main story here.

Glad most of you guys liked my chapter and I'm gonna be honest here I still cannot believe how popular this has become over the past year. I'm amazed I've gotten this many followers and favorites from such a radically different idea.

I love doing these kinds of stories because they're so outside the box.

So moving along and all hope you all keep reading and enjoying what I make for ya'll

Along Came A Spider Chapter 13: I'm starting to wonder why we even consider listening

Marvel Universe: Earth 717

It was a quiet afternoon in the city of Manhattan.

Which is a bit of a surprise considering that this city was home to Earth's Mightiest Heroes, The Avengers. Their headquarters, The Avengers Tower was one of the standouts of the Manhattan skyline, the most defining feature being the giant A marking their home. There was an outdoor balcony and just above it was the landing pad for the Quinjet.

Currently, the Avengers tower had about half a dozen or more Avengers stationed there. Some were simply hanging around, eating, training or passing the time.

Three however were currently on Monitor duty. On the top floor was a large meeting for the Avengers, a circular table in the center able to seat approximately 20 people max but there was more than enough room to hold at least a hundred or more occupants. Plus since this was a high tech room designed by Stark, Banner and a multitude of other scientists and sciency Avengers, more chairs could be brought up.

Currently, the monitor duty assigned Avengers were Wolverine, Hawkeye and Ben Grimm.

Wolverine was casually leaning back in his seat, feet propped up on the table with a beer in one hand, a remote in the other. Logan was flicking through channels on the holographic screen floating before him, not finding anything of valuable interest until settling upon the sports channel, watching the same game Grimm was on the other side of the table with his snacks and all.

"Hey Ben" Wolverine held up a hand lazily "Toss me a sandwich please?"

The Thing grunted with his mouth full, grabbing several of the wrapped sandwiches. He threw them at Logan one at a time, the feral mutant catching each one with ease.

Grunting a thanks, Logan unwrapped a sandwich, promptly taking a large bite out it.

Clint was besides the claw wielding Avenger, his equipment set out on the table in front of him.

He was adjusting the frequency on a specially made trick arrow revolving around sound disruption.

Hawkeye sighed in boredom, moving onto his Kevlar gloves and wrist pieces.

"For once I'm bored" Hawkeye said aloud

"Well we did take down that mook Kang just a few days ago" Ben muffled out, chewing on an entire bag of chips "Just enjoy the break"

"I guess" Clint said, fitting his glove and wrist piece onto his hand, getting a feel for his tweaks

"Sirs" JARVIS, the Avengers personal AI helper chimed in "I have something that warrants some attention

"What have you got for us, JARVIS?" Clint leaned in, eager for some action

"It appears that there was a break in at the Museum of Natural History" JARVIS informed the three present Avengers "The super powered villain known as Elector AKA Max Dillon was seen fleeing the museum with an odd large stone tablet in hand"

"One of Spidey's baddies" Thing, stating the obvious

"Yeah" Logan said, eyeing his teammates "So what do ya guys think? Should we go out there and take care of this schmuck?"

"Nah, no need to" Clint waved off, pointing to the map and screen "Look"

And lo and behold, on the screens transmitting a live feed of Electro fleeing from the Museum of Natural history came Spider-man swinging in in hot pursuit.

"J, keep an eye on Spidey" Clint instructed the AI "We'll see how the situation plays out, See if Pete needs our help"

"Of course sir" JARVIS said respectfully before adding on "Sirs I have picked up a strange reading coming from Electro. I've pinpointed the source being the stone tablet he possesses"

"What kind of reading?" Wolverine asked

"Judging from its fluctuation and power" JARVIS paused momentarily "I have deducted that the tablet is magical in nature"

That warranted some looks of concerns from the Avengers at hand, shooting each other faces that shared similar ideas.

"What the heck does one of Pete's punching bags need a hocus pocus rock for?" Ben asked

"I'm not sure" Logan said "And frankly I don't care. But what I do know is that my gut's telling me that we should get out there and help him out"

"You read my mind" Hawkeye said already having his quiver slung over his shoulder, bow in hand

"Sirs" JARVIS spoke up loudly "I'm detecting high energy readings coming from the power plant. There are two, one from electro and the other from the tablet"

JARVIS brought up a screen displaying Electro and Spider-man violently clashing at one of Manhattan's various power grids. This one in particular was made by Tony Stark himself.

Electro fired various bolts of lightning that Spider-man expertly dodged.

Getting close enough, Spider-man positioned himself before jumping at the electric charged villain.

Swinging a punch at Dillon, the criminal instinctively held up the tablet in hand at the last second.

What followed suit was a bit of confusing shock.

The moment Peter's fist connected with the tablet, it momentarily took the punch before it shuddered then looked as though it began to form cracks. Then, the moment it seemed to burst into multiple pieces, a brilliant white and turquoise light engulfed the screen.

The three avengers looked out the window and saw it was downtown as the light was so brilliant it could be seen from here.

The trio just stared out the window when moments later, several more Avengers came rushing in.

"GUYS!" Iron Man along with Cap, Wilson, Carol, Nat and Luke Cage came running in

"What happened?" Steve asked immediately

"I just got an update that my power grid for the city just shut down" Tony exclaimed

"We need to get over there" Wolverine said seriously "Spider-man just went over there to fight Electro and he could really use our help"

"Then let's move Avengers" Steve said with authority and everybody rushed off to get to the quinjet.

Scene transition

The quinjet hovered over the powered down grid, the Avengers clearly seeing the telltale signs of Spider-man and Electros clash. The flyers of the group descended down to the ground, the quinjet hovering just a bit above the as it could not land.

Instead the ramp opened up from behind and out jumped the other Avengers.

The moment everyone assembled, Tony immediately attempted to contact Peter.

"Spider-man this is Iron man, do you copy?" Iron Man said using the comms between the Avengers ID cards. He received no response "Spider-man?"

Some of the other Avengers tried contacting the wall crawler.

"Web-head, it's Wolverine, Respond"

"Hey Wall crawler. Where are ya man?"

"Yo Peter, come on give us something"

Again, no response

"Spread out" Steve ordered "Look for him"

"JARVIS" Tony said in his armor "Run a scan of the city, see if you can get a lock-on on Pete's ID card"

"Yes sir"

Ben, Clint and Logan instantly went to what seemed to be the epicenter of where they fought one another.

"Man" Ben scratched the back of his head "I know that lightbulb can be powerful. I helped Spidey out with him one or two times. Didn't know he could get this strong"

"Must've been the power grid around him" Clint commented, taking a sweeping look around "All this power that he can tap in with ease"

"Still" Logan crouched down to the ground. He scraped a glove finger on the ground, picking up some dirt. Grinding it a bit with his thumb, Logan took a sniff, grunting a bit in frustration.

"His scent is here" Logan said "I just can't get a lock on at all"

"Really?" Ben asked, a bit put off by this info "No way of tracking him"

"Don't worry about" Clint reassured "He's got to still have Avengers ID card on him. JARVIS can easily track him with that"

"Uh, I hate to be the bearer of bad news" Said a metallic voice from above

Iron Man flew down, landing in front of the group. His helmet flipped up revealing a bit of a worried expression.

"But JARVIS can't find him" Tony announced

"What?" Logan said "What do you mean?"

"As in, he is gone" Tony said grimly "There is no sign of him at all"

"Was his Avengers ID destroyed?" Clint asked

"No, we would have known because all of our ID cards have built in functions to notify us if any suffer damage or destruction" Iron Man explained "There's also body signature that I have registered into the Avengers mainframe"

"And let me guess" Logan deadpanned "No luck on that part either"

"Pretty much" Tony said, sighing in stress

"So we're an Avenger down" Cap said in seriousness "We have to find him"

"Easier said than done Cap" Iron Man remarked

"That's how it always is" Steve pointed out

The conversation would've continued when JARVIS spoke up

"Sirs, I have not been able to find Spider-man" Jarvis said "But I have picked up on sort of energy residue in the area"

"What have you got for us, Jarvis?" Rogers asked

"Though I am not able to fully discern this reading, I have managed to compare it to that of Stephen Strange's mystical abilities"

"So magic then" Tony murmured, rubbing his chin

"Wait" Ben Grimm spoke up "Remember what J said before back at the tower? About two energy readings, one of them coming from that tablet lightbulb stole from the museum"

"That's right" Clint said in realization

"Then we have a lead on where to start" Steve said firmly "Tony, call in Stephen. Clint, Logan, you two go and investigate the museum to see what Electro stole. The rest of us will remain here, see if we can find anything that can help us"

Unbeknownst to the team of Avengers, Spider-man has already been on one hell of an insane ride with a new team of misfits…..kind of like the team back in his home universe

Normandy on route to the Citadel

Spider-man sat at his work station on the Normandy, microscope before him as he studied his own Avengers ID card bit by bit with a bunch of communications technology from this reality next to him.

"Hmm" Spider-man leaned onto his hand, observing the tech intently "If I could hook up this wire here….No that'll just create a burst of power that'll…"

"Yeesh, why did I just get a chill down my spine"

"Hey Garrus" Spider-man said, not looking up from his work

"You know, when I first met you" Garrus said, sitting down on the other end "I never would have thought you'd have a bit of mad scientist in you"

"Oh this" Peter glanced up from his work, pointing at it "This is just a regular science project for me. You'll know when I'm in mad scientist mode"

Garrus blankly stared at his friend

"And what's that, ash covered face with hair sticking up in perfect straight lines?" Garrus said with humor

"You forgot about the blood red eyes and hair covered face" Spider-man said casually, now fiddling with a corner of the ID card, returning it to the way it was before

Garrus didn't know how to respond to that so after a few moments he just chuckled.

"So what are you working on, may I ask" Garrus said, glancing over to all the tech "That's a lot of Comm stuff you got there. What, is it some kind of communicator of whatever"

"Something like that, yeah" Spider-man said, holding up his ID card "A friend of mine made these ID cards that is one of the most advanced pieces of tech I have on me. It's a comm device that has many functions that's kinda cool in the long run"

"How so?" Garrus said, now a little interested

"Well, I guess I'll just list down a few of it's functions" Peter said "Each card is directly linked up to its one user, so nobody else but themselves can use it. It also has a private line that only those who have these cards can access"

"Huh, that seems neat" Garrus said seeing the value in such a thing

"Oh yeah, this thing has pulled through on many occasions" Spider-man said "Small enough to fit anywhere, more durable than taking a boulder at a thousand miles per hour to surviving an EMP blast, this little sucker is a trooper"

"That card can withstand an EMP blast?" Garrus said in clear disbelief

"Among other things" Peter said enigmatically

"That wasn't ominous at all" Garrus said and the two laughed

"So, how soon are we going to get to the Citadel?" Spider-man asked "After Virmire, been craving more web-swinging/ I never really realized how much I love that until….joining the Normandy"

"You've got some weird needs" Garrus said

"This coming from calibrating 101" Peter shot back

"It's a habit" Garrus defended

"That's become an addiction" Peter added

"Like your web swinging?" Garrus challenged

"That is a habit" Peter said knowingly

"How so then?"

"I have something to keep me distracted"

"Really, pray tell what that is"

Peter gestured his hands to his tech, spreading his arms wide

"Science bitch" Peter said triumphantly

Garrus stared at the web-head

"Alright, touché" Garrus conceded "It's not an addiction by the way"

"Yeah, keep telling yourself that" Peter said, returning to working on the tech he had "Whatever helps you sleep at night"

"So how long until you think you'll be done with your little doo hickeys" Garrus asked

Peter shrugged, idly fiddling with one of the earpieces.

"Don't know" Peter said honestly "Maybe I could get more headway once we go back to the Citadel. Get some more tech to integrate into the cards"

"You're making them cards?" Garrus said with a snort

"Hey, don't knock on my designs" Peter said jokingly indignant "Besides, it's an homage to home for me. I'm gonna call them the Normandy ID cards. Exclusive only to us"

"That actually sounds like a good idea" Garrus said thoughtfully "Only those we trust can get one of these to get on the Normandy"

"Now you're getting it" Peter said "Probably gonna call them the Normandy ID cards. Team Normandy all the way"

"Spirits that's cheesy" Garrus chortled

"Hey it works" Spider-man defended "Short and to the point. Like you know you're a part of a family"

"Hmmm" Garrus hummed "Never really thought it like that"

The conversation ended with Joker's voice being heard over the intercom

"Coming up on the Citadel docking bay" Joker informed the crew "Landing in five"

"Finally" Garrus said, standing up to stretch "I've been pining for the Manhattan shack for weeks"

"I here ya" Peter said "You have your motorcycle on board the Normandy now, right?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Race ya there"

The crew assembled at the exit of the Normandy, the team around Shepard.

"Alright team, I know your anxious for brief break but that'll have to be put on hold for a bit longer" Shepard said garnering groans of disappointment from Garrus and Spider-man and shockingly…the entire team

"What?" Shepard asked, bewildered by his friends behavior

"Well" Tali nervously rubbed her arm

"We wanted to have a little get together at the Shack to rest up and eat" Spider-man answered on Tali's behalf "It's been a while since we all just sat down and hanged out"

Shepard blinked before shaking it off with a grin.

"Don't worry, once we get confirmation that we're at the front of that fleet on our way Ilos" Shepard said confidently "We'll have a feast on me"

"We shall hold you to that, Commander" Garrus said with a devious grin

"Then let's go" Shepard said

Scene cut

The Normandy crew arrived at the Citadel council tower, the eight entering the building in a confident stride.

They entered the main council chamber and stood before the Council now, Udina waiting on the sideline.

"Good job to you all" Udina said "Thanks to all of you, the council is finally taking real action against Saren"

"Fucking finally" Ashley murmured

"The Ambassador is correct" Councilor Tevos spoke "If Saren is foolish enough to attack the Citadel, as you believe, we will be ready for him"

"Patrols are stationed at every mass relay linking Citadel space to the Terminus system" Sparatus added

"Wait a minute" Shepard interrupted, clearly disgruntled by the news "You think a blockade is the solution here? Saren is on Ilos looking for the conduit right now! What are you going to do about that?"

"Ilos is only accessible through the Mu Relay, deep inside the Terminus system Commander" Councilor Valern answered "If we send a fleet in there, full scale war is the only outcome"

"Now is the time for discretion Commander" Udina chipped in "Saren's greatest weapon was secrecy. Exposed, he is no longer a threat. This is over"

"WHAT?!" Spider-man burst out, shocking everyone present

"Are you kidding me?! Now that he's out in the public eye, he's an even bigger threat than before" Spider-man shouted vehemently "Guys like Saren will use their exposure to their advantage because they know how. The only way to take them out is to take the fight to them!"

"He's right" Shepard said, now even more determined "One ship entering the Terminus system won't cause a war. Send me in. I'll be discreet"

"You detonated a nuclear device on Virmire" Sparatus pointed out, scolding "I wouldn't call that discreet"

"Your style served you well in the Traverse, Commander. We recognize that" Tevos said in a gentle but authoritative tone "But Ilos requires a more deft touch. We have the situation under control"

"If Saren finds the Conduit, we're all screwed" Shepard pressed on "We have to go to Ilos"

"Ambassador Udina, I get the sense that Commander Shepard isn't willing to let this go" Sparatus spoke as if speaking to a child

Udina actually obliged

"There are serious political implications here, Shepard" Udina said firmly "Humanity has made great gains thanks to you and what you're team has accomplished. But now you're becoming more trouble than your worth"

"You Bastard" Ashley seethed "You're selling us out"

"Why am I not surprised" Wrex grunted under his breath

"It's just politics" Udina said offhandedly before looking back at them with narrowed eyes "You've done your job, Now let me do mine. We've locked out the Normandy's primary system. Until further notice, you're grounded"

"You son of a bitch" Shepard said aggressively "After everything I've said and done, you still don't believe me? Are you insane? Saren is getting ready to get the last piece he needs to bring on the reapers"

"I think it's time for you and your team to leave, Commander" Udina said condescendingly now "This no longer concerns you. The council will handle this. With my help of course"

"Hey we nearly lost half our team back on Virmire" Spider-man said, shoving his way forward to face the council alarming some of the team

"And now we have a chance to take out Saren, and you're ignoring our little volunteer to finally put an end to his mad schemes"

"Uh…Peter" Garrus murmured, about to pull his friend back

Tevos answered the web-head

"Spider-man" She held more power and surprisingly, respectful tone "While some of the public view as nothing more than a vigilante, I do recognize and admire your heroics. These past few months, you have shown that humanity has champions that are willing to lay their lives down on the line, unbiased and unperturbed for any and all species. I will openly state that I support your endeavors and wish for you to continue these acts of heroism regardless of what the public says about you. However, this is not in your jurisdiction. You are not a part of this. This doesn't fall into your responsibilities"

And like that, Spider-man felt something snap, waking him up.

Lowering his head, Spider-man leaned over and gently grabbed the railings, rocking back and forth a bit. The team was a bit disturbed to see this side of Spider-man and were getting worried about his state of mind for the moment.

"You know" Spider-man said in a low tone, yet he was still heard by all "You are right in that regard. I am not a part of this"

Tevos only raised an eyebrow in response while Valern and Sparatus glanced at one another before turning back to the superhero.

"I am not a part of any of this" Spider-man said with more strength in his voice "I'm not a part of the Turian Hierarchy, System Alliance, Asari, Krogan, Salarian or any other species. I am a vigilante. Spectres may have a lot of freedom but they answer to you three. I answer to nobody but the innocent"

For some reason, the team began to stand a bit straighter as Spider-man went on

"I never asked for these powers really" Peter said, looking right at the councilors "But I learned a long time ago that when it comes to power, the with great power, there must also come great responsibility"

Those words actually resonated with the council for the moment before Peter continued.

"So regardless of whatever anybody says about me" Peter said "Publicly or privately, my responsibility is to fight for the right thing with every ounce of strength that I have when I know I can. So put up a smear campaign, turn your soldiers and forces against me. I'm going after Saren with our without my friends backing me up. I'll find a ship, threaten the owner to take me to Saren and then kick his sorry ass into that sweet goodnight"

And like that, Spider-man fired a web line and swung away at full speed leaving a dumbfounded room.

"Um….what just happened?" Ashley asked around

"I don't know" Garrus murmured rubbing his head "I can't tell if we should be embarrassed or just flat out amazed"

"You know" Liara said "I thought we got to know him over the past months. I guess there is still a lot to be seen beneath that mask"

"Guys got bigger quads then the slugs back home" Wrex stated

With Spider-man

"MY GOD, that was so STUPID" Spider-man exclaimed "Doing that in front of the COUNCIL?! Who the hell do I think I am, Captain America?! Iron Man?! THOR?! HELL Hawkeye would have done it WAY MORE awesome than I did. I'm such a fucking IDIOT. OH GREAT, NOW I'M SWEARING AND YELLING AT MYSELF"

Spider-man let go of the line he was swinging on, flipping for a bit to show off and sticked the landing perfectly in a crouch on the edge of a rooftop.

Sitting down, Spider-man removed his helmet and his symbiote mask retreated to reveal his clearly conflicted expression.

"Geez, I never let my emotions get the better of me like that" Peter said to himself, rubbing his head in frustration

"Man Cap would probably give me a father's lecture…..or a pat on the back" Peter mused "Tony would throw me a party without a doubt"

Peter sat there for the time being, forgetting about everything around him.

Meanwhile, Garrus was on his motorcycle with a transport of Tali, Wrex and Ashley behind him.

"Where do you think he went?" Ashley asked Garrus through their comm pieces

"No clue" Garrus said "He must have went off to be to himself for the moment"

"I never would have thought Peter would do something like that" Tali said "You think he's ok"

"BAH" Wrex waved off "He's fine. The son of a bitch just needs a bit to himself and he'll be back"

"What about Skipper?" Ashley asked

"Man, two big babies in our team" Garrus murmured

"Oh Like you're one to talk" Wrex barked

"Right back at ya Barney"

Wrex growled "What?"

"Oh you know it?" Garrus remarked with a gleeful grin "Great, now I know what to call you"

"Hey morons" Ashley deadpanned "In case you haven't noticed our team has been split up and I'd rather have us shooting insults at each other when we're together then looking for a lost friend"

"Right" Garrus cringed a bit "Right, hang on, I'm gonna get more air"

Garrus guided his cycle upwards while the rest remained at the steady level they had already established.

"See anything up there?" Tali asked

"Nada" Garrus said "He must be lying low"

"Or he could just be sitting on a rooftop" Wrex said, looking straight ahead "And is now swinging away somewhere else"

"Huh?" Ashley, Tali and Garrus said altogether

"He's right there….and he's gone" Wrex said pointing ahead

"I saw him" Tali said, taking control of the car "Garrus, this way"

She gunned the accelerator and Garrus swerved down from above, bringing up his flying cycle to be alongside the car. They made a few turns and luckily on the fourth turn, saw the swinging figure of Spider-man in the Citadel 'skyline'.

Ashley was the first to contact the superhero

"OI Web-head" Ashley said into their comms "Mind stopping for a few friends?"

"Ashley?" Peter responded "Wow, you guys found me faster than I thought"

"Well, slow down and land" Garrus said "We need to talk"

"Alright" Spider-man swung down to a fairly large roof that coincidentally had a landing zone

"Are we allowed to park there?' Tali asked

"Sure we can" Garrus said smugly taking out his badge "C-sec privilege"

"Hmph" Wrex said "You're actually useful every now and then Turian"

"And you're not an overbearing Jackass every day, Krogan"

The flying car and cycle landed on the pad, Spider-man standing there waiting for them.

"What's up guys?" Spider-man said casually

"You obviously" Ashley instantly replied, bonking his helmeted head

"OW" Spider-man whined comically, crouching down to rub his head "What was that for?"

"For worrying me you Jackass" Ashley exclaimed "You pull a badass speech on a couple of stiffs with boulders up their asses and then you go and swing away. I thought you were going to do something even stupider"

"Doesn't he do that like, all the time?" Garrus asked shrinking a bit from the murderous glare he got from the redhead

"Ashley, I'm not sure that hitting our friend is really going to accomplish anything?" Tali stepped in, placing a hand on the marine

"Yeah, why are we even here in the first place?" Wrex asked "Didn't those Pyjak council fucks ground the Normandy?"

"Yes, the Normandy" Spider-man said "But not us. We need to get to Ilos and finish the fight with Saren once and for all"

"Geez, you're more determined than Shepard is" Garrus noted

"Because I've faced crap like this on a weekly to daily basis" Spider-man said vehemently "We need to take out Saren NOW. Innocent lives are at stake and I am not going to let a bastard like him let people become collateral damage. Not while I could do something about it"

"And we all agree with you, Peter" Tali said kindly "But if we're going to do this, it has to be as a team. All of us as one"

"Tali is right Pete…..It feels like I'm talking to Shepard right now" Garrus said "Feels really weird"

"Tell me about it" Spider-man admitted "I'm not usually the take charge guy in a group"

"Whatever" Wrex said "Let's just meetup with the rest of the crew and get o n over to Ilos to kick Saren's ass"

By coincidence, Commander Shepard Chimed in

"Garrus, Tali, Ashley?" Shepard said "Anybody Respond"

"We're all here Skipper" Ashley responded

"By here do you mean…?"

The other four all chimed in for confirmation

"Good to know. Listen up team, Kaidan, Liara and I are on our way to a club in the wards called Flux to meet up with Captain Anderson" Shepard informed the team "I've got a gut feeling we may be getting our ticket out of here to Ilos"

"Awesome" Spider-man said "So what's the plan?"

"Right now, I'm just gonna meet with Anderson, see what h e wants to tell me" Shepard said "I Want the rest of you guys to get back to the Normandy and be on Stand by. Be prepared for anything"

"Why Can't we just go with you?" Tali asked an obvious question

She was answered surprisingly by Kaidan

"If the entire team of the Normandy is seen moving around together to speak with a high ranking officer of the System Alliance in a club in the ward, people might get a tad bit suspicious especially if we've got this mixed group with one being the first Human Spectre and the other being the vigilante superhero Spider-man"

He was met with silence by everyone

"Uh.." Shepard broke the silence "Yeah…couldn't have said it better myself….nice choice of words Lieutenant"

"Thanks Commander" Alenko sounded like he was sporting a shit eating grin right now

"Don't get an inflated ego, Kai" Spider-man said feigning offense "The only smug and stupendously confident people on this team are me, Garrus and maybe Shepard or Wrex"

Kaidan laughed whilst Wrex stared confusingly at Spider-man

"Why am I not entirely qualified?"

"Because you're Wrex" Garrus answered dryly

"What more is there to say?" Spider-man added with a shrug

Wrex of course deadpanned with Ashley and Tali giggling a little from the joke

"Hang on a second" Shepard said, pretending to be affronted "I have every right to be stupendously Cocky. I'm a Spectre, the first human Spectre mind you. I think I qualify by default"

Shepard" Liara spoke for the first time in the entire exchange. She sounded a bit bewildered at what she was witnessing and hearing

"Shouldn't we be meeting with Anderson at Flux?"

"R-right" The Spectre stammered "Let's not keep him waiting. You guys head back to the Normandy and await further commands"

"Copy that Commander" Garrus answered for the team "We're on route now"

The group quickly returned to the Normandy and patiently waited there, Spider-man choosing the time to hang out with Joker

"You know I didn't get around to actually seeing the armor" Joker said, whistling appreciatively at what Spider-man wore "Digging the look man, pretty badass"

"Why thank you" Peter said in a gallant voice, striking a pose(use your imagination(Rainbow overhead)) "It does make me look more awesome than I already am"

"Whatever qualifies as awesome in your mind" Joker shot "That Spandex makes you look like a ballerina"

"Hey, there is nothing wrong with being an interpretive dancer" Peter said indignantly, crouching into a plea before leaping up a bit to swing his legs around

"That's what a ballerina is for" Joker said grinning now

"You're just jealous that you can't pull off these awesome moves" Peter said making yet another Ballerina dance

There fun back and forth was met with the arrival of Shepard

"Alright, I've informed the team of the plan Joker accept for…"

Shepard stopped when he saw Spider-man doing a rather impressive Ballerina twirl

"Uh….I'm a little afraid to ask as to what I just walked in on" Shepard said slowly

"Oh hey Commander" Joker greeted uncaringly "Spider-man hear was just confirming his sexuality"

"Hardy Har har Marathon runner" Peter deadpanned at Joker then turning to Shepard

"So what is the plan?"

"Anderson is really sticking his neck out for us on this one" Shepard said seriously "His entire career may be on the line"

"What is he doing?" Joker asked, a bit concerned now

"He's going to Udina's office and overriding the controls that's keeping the Normandy grounded" Shepard explained "The moment the light turns green Joker, you get us the hell out of here"

The pilot stared hard at the Commander

"Copy that Commander" Joker said, wheeling around to face the controls

Spider-man came up to Shepard

"You sure about this?" Spider-man asked silently

"Not entirely" Shepard said honestly "We'll have to put our faith in Anderson"

"Here's to hoping" Spider-man said, patting his Commander and friend on the shoulder

Spider-man left the cockpit and went to his now usual spot on the Normandy and saw Tali there. She was currently overlooking the Arc reactor designs, intensively studying them.

"I see your keeping up to speed" Peter, announcing himself

Tali jolted a bit from his sudden arrival

"Keelah, don't do that" Tali said a little irked. She exhaled calming down "Yes, sorry about that. I was too focused"

"Don't blame ya, I do that just as often" Spider-man said, removing his helmet, black mask retreating back as he sat down on the opposite end of the table

"Garrus mentioned you were working on something special" Tali brought up "Something about a communication card or something like that"

"Yeah, it's a little something special for all of us" peter said proudly "Been working on it for a while now actually. Kind of a secret project since Feros"

"Wow that far back?" Tali said

"Yeah, it's never really been brought up in a conversation or whatever" Peter said with a shrug "It's not like I could openly say, 'hey guys, I've got this great new communications gizmo I've got for all of us. Trading cards!'. See?"

"I guess" Tali said with a shrug

"We're outta here" Joker exclaimed on the intercom and the ship lurched before the duo felt it was gaining speed as it left the Citadel

"No going back now" Tali murmured

"Yeah" Peter nodded in agreement "How far of is Ilos anyway?"

"Usually a week(Entirely a guess) from the Citadel considering its past the Mu Relay" Tali said "But since we're kind of at full throttle, I'd say half that time"

"So then let's pass the time with something that can turn out to be useful" Peter suggested which Tali agreed to whole heartedly

'Soon' Peter thought to himself 'This feels like it's getting to its climax soon'

AND SCENE

I meant to do this sooner but like always, a great many things interfered in doing so

This chapter was more or less a filler setup kind of thing before the Normandy reaches Ilos

Oh yeah, the whole Normandy ID card thing, if you're wondering and probably correctly assumed, was something that just dawned on me just before I began writing this. Since this crew is a lot like the avengers in more ways than you think, I figured Peter would maybe be feeling a little homesick and this new team reminds him of the Avengers so much that he decided to make a set for them.

Mind you these are just beta's or prototypes. They are easy to make and function quite well but overtime Peter and soon probably Tali and maybe even Mordin will be making constant adjustments and upgrades to them

The ID cards will become a nice sense of belonging in the future, you'll see soon enough. I have plans for this little angle

And speaking of Avengers ID cards, I've been meaning to do this since I first bought it up all those chapters ago.

What team member of the Normandy is like a team member of the Avengers?

You can use multiple choices for this one. I would suggest that you compare the current team of the Normandy rather than the later ones, but we'll get to them when we'll get to them.

And for those of you who may not understand what I'm saying here's just an example

Shepard=Captain America

Garrus=Hawkeye

Like that. So you choose which of the Normandy team member reminds you most of which Avenger

I was also originally intending on writing yet another teaser for one o f my upcoming stores flip flopping between my Marvel/DC crossover or my Kingdom Hearts/Mass effect crossover

But since this is a filler, I'll save it for the next chapter

Rate Read and Review and As Always Have Nice Day and a happy holidays, merry Christmas, Kwanza, Hanukkah, New Years to you all in case the next chapter comes out next year cause this chapter came out December 20, 2015
