Hmmm, it's strange really how long one writes a story that's long term. For the past three years I've been writing this and I'm not even halfway there. The lockdown arc was a gamble and it didn't pay off as much as I would have like it to but regardless, there's still a lot of crazier things to come and in the next chapter, OH MAN, you're gonna love it, I promise you all.
Last chapter was a strange one for me if I were to be honest cause the concept of death was a college project I was working on and it entered into the story.
But whatever, I'm rambling and jumping around all over the place. My back hurts but my fingers are still lightning when I really want it so let's get on with the show
And a happy new years to you all

Along Came A Spider Chapter 28: Some familiarity Part 1
2 years 3 months
Time went on and Peter continued to live on in a universe that was not his own.
During that time, Peter decided to start running more odd jobs from delivering Pizza like he once did to helping out in fixing Omni-tools and other devices and vehicles with his tech know-how.
Garrus had even enlisted Peter on occasion to help out on C-sec investigations as both himself and Spider-man. And he also helped around the office, meeting some of the other C-sec officers Garrus had worked with.
Some of the C-sec personnel were thoroughly impressed with Peter's capabilities, including the chief and they had offered him a position.
Peter politely declined due to his 'hectic schedule' with his multiple 'responsibilities'. However, Peter left the chief a card as a way of contacting him. That earned him odd looks from the others who had seen this resulting in Peter simply stating that he was very old fashioned.
Most humans and a few Turians laughed at that.
So Peter balanced his time on the Citadel between being Spider-man, his constantly changing jobs, helping out with C-sec, and spending time with Garrus, Liara, Ash and Kaidan whenever they were around.
During that time, Peter began extensively looking over the three pieces from the tablet of order and chaos. Studying them, 'probing' them, seeing whatever he could do to garner a reaction out of them.
He had even tried with his Symbiot to perhaps find a way influence and manipulate the stones to no avail. There were occasional sparks and flare of a glowing blue light from the stones but nothing truly solid which frustrated the wall-crawler to no end. It really began to bother Peter like no tomorrow. God know how much time had passed back in his universe. It was a constant question in his mind. Did time elapse at the same rate back home as it did here or did more time progress here over home or vice versa.
It honestly gave Peter a headache.
And he's been getting them a bit more frequently than usual. And he's also been hearing this strange vibration that was definitely not his Spider-sense. After having it for years, he has gotten a down quite a lot on just how this Omni-present ability functioned. Yet there was still more to learn.
Regardless of that, aside from one run in with Sakoln, Spider-man/Peter Parker went about his business of great power and great yadda yadda yadda.
Until…
"Where did you get the credits for this?" Peter asked in clear bemusement, staring at the tickets that Liara held up in front of him
"Well" Liara felt a bit bashful "After everything we've been through, during that time, I've submitted my multiple findings on my Prothean research that I had been conducting on the Normandy. Then when my mother had passed, I had found out that she left with me a decent some of her accumulated wealth. So after our discussion I had thought to myself why not go with it and take a trip to Earth"
Peter only stared dumbly at his friend who now looked sheepish as she looked away from him, trying to hide her blushing face.
"Wow Liara, you continue the trend amongst my friend" Peter remarked making Liara turn back to him
"Which is?"
"Them having more money than me no matter what the circumstance"
Liara blinked before giggling lightly at the joke that h ad more truth to it than most statements.
"So when are we leaving?" Peter asked
"Tomorrow" Said a voice from behind
Peter turned back and saw Garrus approaching the two.
"Garrus" Peter said jovially, the two exchanging a clap handshake between the two "I didn't know Liara got you a ticket as well"
"It was a bundle package" She said happily "So I figured we could all go together. spend some time together to take our minds off things"
Peter stared at Liara before a small grin formed on his face.
"Thanks Liara" Peter said kindly
"It was no trouble" Liara said modestly "Now let's go get ready. See if we need anything else"
The trio of friends went off on their own and together throughout the day, gathering their personal belongings and new items that they would pack on their journey to Earth.
It was strange really for Peter that he would be preparing a trip to his home planet Earth. He couldn't help but laugh at the prospect of such an idea. He wondered how much like home this version of Earth will be and how much different it is. It's not that hard to imagine the differences, so the similarities will be the challenge.
Still, it will be nice to get off the Citadel. He had begun to feel a bit to clustered on the damn thing. At least back home, every now and then he was able to easily travel out from Manhattan and Queens on his own or with the rest of the Avengers.
Here however was another matter entirely.
Maybe he should learn how to be a pilot. Get his own personalized ship so he can leave whenever and see where else he could do some good.
Regardless, he felt a sense of excitement and anxiousness as he prepped for his journey to the Earth of this universe, specifically, Manhattan itself.
The next day arrived shortly after. Liara, Garrus and Peter were seated in their own personal compartment on the transport ship that would take them to Earth.
"By the Spirits Liara, you really overextended yourself for this one" Garrus said with slight amazement at the size of their own compartment
"I…just picked what I thought would suit us best" Liara said abashedly
"Well you knocked it out of the park, Liara" Peter complimented with a laugh "Not used to travelling in style like this"
The trio settled in, each claiming their own designated bed for the trip to Manhattan. Their trip was relatively uneventful, nothing exciting or crazy happening save for several people recognizing Liara and Garrus due to their time as members on the Normandy.
Garrus was severely tempted in throwing Peter under the bus by ousting him as Spider-man. Of course he didn't do it but by god, Peter saw a glint in Garrus' eye that just screamed mischief.
Best to be on guard.
Scene Cut
Peter Parker looked as though a trance had fallen over him.
Slowly, with methodical steps, the superhero walked out from the docking bay where the transport ship hand landed and he stepped out to see it.
"Manhattan" Peter murmured to himself as he looked upon the futuristic, alternate reality version of home.
He felt a hand on his shoulder and glanced back to see Garrus with Liara beside him.
"I know this isn't the genuine article in your eyes, but Liara hopes it's the next best thing for you" Garrus said sternly
"Garrus" Liara chided, lightly nudging the Turian detective
"Thanks guys" Peter said gratefully "This means a lot"
"Well since you know where we're staying and all, we figured it'd be best for you to go out there and get yourself acquainted and reacquainted with the place" Garrus said making Peter laugh
"Garrus, I'm homesick but I'm not that homesick to the point where I'm just gonna leave the two of you high and dry with all of our luggage" Peter remarked, hefting up his bag over his shoulder "Besides, taking the train in the big apple is always an experience"
"Hmmm" Liara looked up at all the tall buildings, feeling a lot smaller than usual.
"I don't know why this feels so much bigger than the Citadel" Liara said with slight amazement
"Aw, that's just the Manhattan feel, Liara" Peter said with a chipper tone "Come on, even though this is a different universe, I'm glad to say that where we're going is in the same exact location as it thought it would be"
Garrus and Liara followed Peter to the subway down below.
"Man, this place is so much cleaner here" Peter commented on the train stations "Then again…kinda miss the stank that my subway gave off"
"You have a weird taste in nostalgia Peter" Garrus dryly stated
Eventually, the three of them made it to the hotel they were staying at.
Garrus and Liara decided to remain behind to settle in for the moment.
As for Peter…
Standing atop the building hotel they were staying at, Peter was wearing his black spider suit with his mask in his hand.
He stood at the corner of the building's rooftop, overlooking the Manhattan skyline.
Closing his eyes, Peter took a great long breath of the air of the city that never sleeps, regardless of what reality it exists in.
A sense of calm blanketed the web head, casually slipping on his mask. Turning around with his back facing the city, Spider-man looked to the skies and spread out his arms.
Leaning back, Spider-man when into a free fall down the tall building, remaining completely motionless in his descent.
His eyes had remained closed and his body was unaffected by the winds against him.
In a quick second, Spider-man's eyes snapped open and he fired off a web line and swung up into the sky like a missile.
Letting go, Peter seemingly hovered in the air with arms spread out behind him and both his legs curled up(One of his many iconic poses).
Free falling once more, Spider-man pivoted himself into a nosedive before once again firing his webbing to perform a sharp angled swing upwards.
He simply began to swing in between the buildings, cars and many other structures of this universes Manhattan.
Naturally, he got many civilians pointing up, down and around at him with mouths agape in shock at just what they saw.
A select few recognized the figure and saw that it was the Spider-man that was garnering so much fame and attention at the Citadel, if not the entire galaxy.
"YEEHAW" Spider-man exclaimed jubilantly, feeling himself go faster and faster.
A wild grin was etched on his face beneath his mask as he swung as fast as his arms could carry him.
Seeing a crossover bridge between buildings, Peter fired two webs and flipped around the bridge. He allowed himself to drop, hands grip his web lines. As he reached the bottom, Peter clenched his web strands tightly and pulled. The elasticity of the webbing stretched out then snapped upwards, sling shooting Peter up like a rocket.
While he hovered in the air, Peter spotted an iconic landmark of New York that he made an immediate beeline for.
Swinging at speeds he didn't know he was capable of, Peter shot up and stuck onto the side of the antenna of none other than the Empire State Building. He rapidly scaled the pole and made it to the top, balancing perfectly atop it.
A serene calm came over Peter as silently allowed the winds from up high brush over him, taking in all the sights and sounds of a city that's al to familiar to him.
Yes, this place had undergone technological leaps and bounds since entering the galactic community but the feel of the place remains the same.
And with that feel came a sound he was all to accustomed to.
Snapping his head downward, Peter spotted the red and blue flash accompanied by the loud blare of the NYPD sirens.
Grinning, Peter performed a leap of faith styled jump. Once he got beneath the flying cars, Peter began pursuing after the police.
Up ahead, he saw a large bus-like flying vehicle.
Narrowing his eyes, Peter recognized the truck being a transport for Element Zero.
These were some daring robbers.
Increasing his speed, Peter flung himself right at the back of the truck, crawling around it to the front.
The cops behind him just stared in bewilderment at what they just saw.
"The weird stuff's happening again Joe" The younger of the two stated
"I know, Randy…I know" Joe said in defeat "They don't pay us for this"
"Should we break off?"
"Keep in pursuit, let's see what happens"
Peter managed to get to the front and tap on the window
"Excuse me good sirs, would you mind pulling over?" Spider-man said jovially.
The bug-eyed response was all he needed to see as he quickly webbed up the steering wheel then webbed up both criminals with ease.
With the attached line from the wheel to his hand, Spider-man pivoted the car into a downward dive, aiming for a space between two buildings.
Firing out a giant web, Peter jumped onto the web he had made and quickly reinforced the webbing in time just as the stolen vehicle fell into the web and was promptly stuck there.
"And my work here is done" Peter said with a salute
Jumping away from the scene, Spider-man made a hasty getaway as NYPD surrounded the webbed up car with the criminals inside.
Soon after, Peter returned to the hotel they were staying at to see Liara and Garrus looking at him expectantly. Staring at them dumbly, Peter glanced behind them to see the rooms video screen on with who other than Spider-man on his latest heroic endeavor.
"Well that didn't take long for you now did it?" Garrus said in amusement
"What?" Peter said indignantly "I don't go looking for trouble. It usually goes looking for me"
"That's about as believable as you not blaming yourself for something that wasn't your fault" Garrus remarked
"Alright, first off, Ow that hurts" Peter quipped "Secondly, I can't run away from crime you guys, come on"
"We know Peter" Liara said kindly "It's just that we came here to relax"
"Relax? In Manhattan? Liara, I don't think you fully grasp just what this place is" Peter said in an educated tone "See, this is the city that never sleeps. We mean that in the most literal way possible"
Garrus only rolled his eyes at Peter, lightly slugging the Web-heads shoulder.
"Alright, since you know the place so well, you'll be the one to show us around" Garrus stated "Who needs a tour guide when we have the spectacular, sensational, extrapertational, Amazing Spider-man"
"Extrapertational isn't a real word"
"Sue me"
The trio departed from their suite shortly thereafter. What they failed to notice, however, was the set of glowing rocks within Peter's luggage who had yet to unpack them upon their arrival here.

The Marvel universe
Logan crouched down in an alleyway, picking up some dirt off the ground. Letting the pieces fall from his fingers, the primal mutant sniffed around the area in hopes of finding any lead that he can in that can lead him to finding Spider-man.
It has been over three months since Peter had vanished and Logan had to admit, telling his Aunt May about his disappearance was a damn hard task to do.
Whilst this wasn't necessarily the first time this had happened, this had been the longest and she was beginning to worry at the duration of him going missing. She was naturally worried to begin with but time just adds to the heartache.
Logan already had his hands full with being a member of the X-men, a teacher at the institute, training young mutants and an Avenger. But he'd be damned if he didn't put as much effort as he could in helping out a man he considers to be one of his best friends.
Becoming friends with and explicitly trusting Spider-man was one of life's greatest ironies and truly good moments that Logan had ever gone through.
He and the web-head had been through a lot together and he owed the self-loathing hero a lot, the same way that Peter believes in owing a great deal to him in turn.
The rest of the Avengers had also been chipping in their time in searching out just where Spider-man could have gone.
What truly stumped and slightly worried them was the fact that Doctor Strange himself was having a great amount of difficulty trying to find him.
Apparently, the object of Spidey's disappearance was something called the tablet of order and chaos. And according to Strange, it's magic fluctuation was frustratingly difficult to pinpoint.
That did little in deterring the clawed mutant Avenger.
Eyes narrowing, Logan tensed up as he picked up a scent he didn't recognize within the alleyway.
SNIKT
His Adamantium claws popped out between his knuckles on each hand and he crouched slightly, back hunched and hands forward.
"Eep"
Cocking a brow at the female yelp, Logan glanced over to a worn down old couch beside discarded garbage.
Taking a sniff again, while the smell of the junk permeated the air, the couch didn't smell like rundown old couch.
In fact, it smelt more like gyro that was eaten not too long ago.
That and the couch was trembling.
Cautiously, Logan moved to poke the couch with his claws when the couch jolted.
"OK WAIT A SEC!" Yelled a young female voice
Before his eyes, the couch shifted and then morphed into a young teenage girl.
She had black hair with brown skin wearing a primarily light blue and red getup with a small mask. The defining feature of her suit however was the yellow lightning bolt on the front of costume.
"Sorry for spying on you Mr. Wolverine" The young girl said sheepishly and nervously
"Who the heck are you kid?" Logan asked, eyeing the girl
"I'm Miss Marvel" She said proudly, shrinking back a moment later upon realizing how she presented herself
"Miss Marvel?" Logan repeated, a name he hadn't heard since Carol changed her name to Captain Marvel. Then, a memory clicked in his mind.
"Oh yeah, Danvers said something about a new hero using her old name in Jersey" Logan said, retracting his claws "What are ya doing out here, kid? You look like you should be in high school"
"It's a vacation" Ms. Marvel said in relief "And I kinda spotted you in between alleyways and…"
The young hero then trembled with pure adulation towards the mutant.
"I'm a huge fan" Ms. Marvel exclaimed excitedly "You are one of my favorite heroes. There's a fanfiction of you and Spider-man taking on Doctor Doom and then there's another with you with Storm as a married couple and then I have where you and Ms. Marvel"
"Kid" Wolverine swiftly interjected, cutting off her ramble "Take a breath and relax"
"Sorry" She said sheepishly
"Right" Logan nodded, looking away further down the alley
"Um…if you don't mind me asking, what are you doing Mr. Wolverine" Ms. Marvel asked tentatively
Logan snorted at her demeanor, finding it a bit endearing. Where had he seen this before? Better questions is, is how often had he seen this.
"I'm looking for someone" Logan answered "A fellow Avenger"
"Spider-man" Ms. Marvel said instantly "Is it true? Is he really missing? I heard about it on the news"
"Yeah he's missing" Wolverine said in confirmation "Been looking for him for a while now. About two months"
"What happened?" Ms. Marvel asked in concern
"Some mystic mumbo jumbo that makes very little sense and a pain in the ass to wrap my mind around" Logan answered curtly, not because of her but because of his friends unknown situation "So I'm looking for anything that I could find and I saw a flash of light here that was similar to the light that Spider-man disappeared to"
"You saw that light to?" Ms. Marvel said "I was also wondering what that was about when I saw you enter the place"
"Didn't you say you were following me?"
"That too"
"Why are you even here? Isn't your home state New Jersey?"
"Well I was hanging out with my friends today but then I saw everything and…"
"Alright" Logan grunted "You're here now. Follow my lead and only come in when necessary"
Ms. Marvel's heart practically stopped before she let out a squeal of Joy.
"I'm in aMMPH"
Logan had a hand over her mouth and deadpanned at her reaction. The young hero blushed in embarrassment, realizing her inner fangirl had taken hold of her.
"Keep quiet" Logan repeated "And follow my lead"
Kamala Khan only nodded her head vigorously.
Logan continued down the alleyway with Kamala right in step with him.
He soon spotted a metallic door on the right side of corridor and his eyes narrowed once more.
Taking a whiff of the air, Wolverine sense the danger in the air and held out his hand to stop Ms. Marvel.
"Wait at the door" Logan instructed sternly
SNIKT
Out popped one claw, carefully leveled at the small gap between the door and the hinges.
With one swift swipe, Logan cut the lock.
Not a moment too soon, a long metallic arm slammed the door open and grabbed Logan to pull him inside.
"WOLVERINE" Ms. Marvel cried out in shock, rushing in after him.
Logan was hefted up into the air and tossed away like a rag doll. He smashed into a stack of wooden crates before slumping down onto the ground.
Groaning from the sudden pain, Wolverine blearily looked up and saw a familiar face that's commonly associated with Spider-man.
"Doctor Octopus" Wolverine growled
"The legendary Wolverine" Doc Ock said in a condescending tone "How unusual it is to find someone of your stature down here"
"Funny, I would say that in turn" Logan remarked, getting up off the ground "But then again, being a street level crook is all you're really good at, aren't you?"
Doc Ock sneered at the mutant, his four mechanical claws raised and ready only for him to be abruptly swatted aside by an enlarged hand.
"AURGH" Doc Ock cried out in pain, his mechanical arms thankfully taking a brunt of the impact into the wall.
The arms steadied the mad doctor as he leveled a glare at his attacker which was a dumbfounded Ms. Marvel.
"Who in the blazes are you?!" Otto roared out
"Uh…" Kamala blinked in slight fright
"Trainee that just knocked your ass down a peg" Wolverine remarked, metal claws popping out of his knuckles "Hope that sticks with you Doc, knowing that teenagers kick your ass more so than adults"
"I have been a threat for the Avengers and the world over" Doc Ock snarled
"With help" Logan idly waved off "Even if you're smart, Spidey is more than enough to take your sorry ass down himself bub"
"You said bub" Kamala said with a sparkle in her eyes
"Aw yes" Doc Ocks demeanor changed within a second "Help"
Suddenly, a grainy, scratchy sound began echoing around the room they stood in.
Both heroes looked down to see barely noticeable trails of what looked to be…
"Sand?" Ms. Marvel said in confusion
Logan immediately knew who it was
"Sandman"
"Hey there Shorty"
The form of Flint Marko materialized in a giant way as he towered over all present in the room.
"You mentioned how without help, I am no threat" Octavius stated with a sinister grin "Then allow me to even the playing field"
Ms. Marvel let out a small squeak of terror at the prospect of facing two of Spider-man's most well-known enemies.
"I'm gonna enjoy this" Sandman said, his fist enlarging to twice the size it already was and bringing it down on Wolverine.
He quickly rolled out of the way and ran towards a frozen Ms. Marvel and tackled her out of the way of a palm swipe.
"Kid" Logan yelled out "Come on, snap out of it, we're dealing with some heavy hitters here"
"Huh?" Kamala said in a slight daze
"You wanna be a hero, well here's your first real test" Logan said, shaking her slightly
Ms. Marvels eyes trailed over Wolverines shoulder and she instinctively pushed him aside, enlarged her own hands and clapped them together to let out a powerful gale of winds that effectively blew away the sand mace that was sent towards them.
Logan saw this and grinned "Nice reflexes"
Ms. Marvel could only gape at what she pulled off. Her hands returned back to normal and she looked at them in astonishment only for her back collar to get pulled back by Wolverine in time to keep her from getting impaled by one of Ocks mechanical arms.
"Focus up kid, appreciate yourself later"
"Huh? Oh, OH! Right, right sorry" Kamala said with some humility
"You truly must be foolish if you believe you by yourself along with this novice will take us down" Doc Ock said cockily
"Believe me Bub" Wolverine growled, holding up his claws in an X fashion "Beating up punks like you is breakfast to me"
"What he said" Kamala lamely followed up, literally shrinking down a moment later when Sandman glared at her
"What do we do with the runt, Doc?" Flint asked
"Take her out"
Flint did look a bit uncomfortable in fighting someone who was clearly young but chose not to object at the moment.
"Wait a minute, why am I getting paired up with him?!" Ms. Marvel protested
"You don't get to pick your battles sometimes Ms. M" Logan said, charging forward at Doc Ock who engaged the mutant in turn.
Ms. Marvel fearfully looked up at the giant form of Sandman, until she remembered who she was with, why he was here and just what name she was trying to live up to.
Putting on a brave face, Ms. Marvel shot a determined look towards Sandman.
Concentrating on her power, Ms. Marvel shouted out "EMBIGGEN"
She then surprised the villain when she grew to three time her size, on level with him and then proceeded to slap him.
Sandman quickly reformed, holding an annoyed expression.
Realizing that her first attack failed, she let out a nervous laugh only to start, punching, kicking and slapping him apart with all her might.
It was sloppy naturally but she was giving it her all.
Wolverine in the meantime was ducking and dodging Doc Ocks metal tentacles. Every time he attempted to swipe at them, Otto expertly maneuvered them out of the way. The scientist knew that the Adamantium would easily cut through the metal so he had to play it safe.
Back to the sand slap fest, Flint was growing increasingly annoyed at Ms. Marvels constant hits that made him disintegrate only for him to reform seconds later to yet another hit.
Growling, Sandman let out a frustrated shout with an explosion of sand from him, knocking Kamala back into a setup table with scientific equipment on it.
Doc took notice of this a verbally berated Marko.
"Sandman you fool!" Octavius Raged "Do you not realized what you have done?!"
Kamala's vision was blurry as she returned back to her normal size. She felt a weight on her lap and her vision cleared.
She saw an unusual rock on her legs with intricate ruins which were glowing a bluish white color that slightly hypnotized kamala by its brightness.
Hesitantly, she picked up the stone only for it to let out a burst of energy.
Yelping, Kamala found that the stone was seemingly stuck to her as it let out another shockwave of blue energy with a white dome beginning to grow out from the rock which eventually encompassed the whole room in a manner of seconds.
Scene Cut
"Now this is a good old fashioned New York Hot Dog" Peter said, happily munching on one with Garrus and Liara who were currently standing in teched out Times Square.
"This is truly a spectacle of an area" Liara commented, slightly in awe of all the flashing lights and sounds. Sure the Citadel had its fair share of lights and sounds but Peter always boasted about Manhattan being the granddaddy of them all and it looks as though he had sold Liara and Garrus on his case.
"No matter what era or what reality, Manhattan is always the center of the universe" Peter proudly boasted
"After everything we've seen and done, I'm actually kinda curious where is the center of universe" Garrus said thoughtfully, looking up to the skies
"If Lockdowns ship hadn't blown up, I think that may have been possible" Liara noted
"Hopefully no one is aware of where it crash landed" Peter said, trying not to tempt fate
"At the very least, there's a few people who know how to handle it" Garrus said
"There's only eight people in the entire galaxy who can fight against the tech from Lockdowns ship" Peter said "And all of us are scattered around right now"
"Wonder how Tali and Wrex are?" Garrus contemplated
"What about Yondu?" Liara inquired "No one has heard anything about a blue skinned alien running around with a magic arrow and a large protruding fin on his head"
"Hmmm" Peter rubbed his chin in thought "Tony and Carol are the only two Avengers I know who have a greater deal of knowledge and experience with the Guardians of the Galaxy. They told me that they're trust worthy on their own and are just as capable as the Avengers are. So we'll just have to trust that wherever Yondu is or whatever he's doing, he's fine"
"A guy who's arrow can penetrate anything when he whistles" Garrus said the statement aloud as if it were crazy(Which it was to an extent) "Yeah, he's gonna be so helpless here"
Peter would have laughed at that had his Spider-sense not exploded out in warning. Letting out a small shout, peter clutched his head while sitting down on a nearby barrier.
Some glanced over to the loud shout while Liara and Garrus were trying to figure out what was wrong with their friend.
"Peter" Liara said worriedly "Are you alright? What's wrong?"
"Is it your spider-sense?" Garrus guessed, which got a strained nod out of Peter
"Yeah" Peter was severely troubled "Something must be up. It must be pretty big if I got this splitting headache"
It didn't help the fact that the Symbiot itself was shifting about beneath his clothes, clearly disturbed by its hosts danger sense.
He felt the headache calming down, rubbing his scalp to help alleviate the pain.
"What the hell was that?" Peter asked himself, hoping some kind of answer would appear
Garrus knew by this point that whenever Peter's Spider-sense went off, danger and trouble was not that far behind. Using his trained eyes, Garrus began scanning the area, both near and far to discern as to what caused Peter to receive such a warning. Utilizing his enhanced visor, Garrus managed to see further than any on this planet.
Peter in the meantime, began to feel a tugging sensation within his mind.
'Spider-sense?' Peter internally asked himself and as if in answer, the tugging feeling became stronger
It all pointed up.
There was a brilliant flash of light that blinded Times Square momentarily.
All heads turned in the direction of the light with three jaws dropping in complete shock and disbelief.
One individual with what looked like Four metal arms fell from the sky.
"You have got to be KIDDING ME" Peter exclaimed.
At the last second, before hitting the ground, the metal arms instinctively shot out and prevented the short portly man from impacting the ground.
The four arms then held the man above for all to see.
He looked around to a somewhat familiar sight but nonetheless was different from what he had seen before.
With no hesitation in mind, one of Doc Ocks arms shot forward and grabbed the nearest civilian in reach and held him up to his face.
People began screaming, backing away while the poor civilian struggled in the grip.
"Tell me sir" Doc Ock spoke calmly "I would like to know as to where I am"
The man only whimpered in fear and pain, crying out a moment later as the metal claws tightened their grip on the man.
"Manhattan" He yelled out in tears "You are in Manhattan"
"Manhattan you say?" Doc Ock questioned with some disbelief
Otto took the moment to briefly observe his surroundings, spotting some sights that he recognized with the others he clearly did not.
"Do you take me for some kind of fool" Doc Ock said with a sneer, throwing the man a second later.
Many cried out in horror, none more so than the poor man when a black suited figure jumped out from nowhere, catching the poor fellow.
All eyes now turned to this newcomer and a handful recognized the person immediately. One however took a few moments until realizing just who this figure was. After all, the suit may be black but that blasted emblem, those white lenses and that annoying finesse in movement was all too easy to remember.
"Spider-man" Doctor Octopus snarled venomously
"Hey Doc" Spider-man said cheerfully "So glad to see you again. And I use that term with as much a grain of salt as I can"
"Three months I have not heard your incisive, aggravating voice but it feels like only yesterday" Doc Ock spat out.
What the mad scientist didn't expect was for Spider-man to freeze up and stare at him.
There were a few moments of tense silence that perpetuated the air.
"Only three months" Spider-man murmured "It's only been three months?"
"Since you disappeared to? Yes" Doc Ock said in annoyance "But now is my chance to do it permanently"
Two metal arms shot out at Spider-man who deftly corkscrewed into the air to dodge them. In the middle of his spin, Peter fired two webs and with his movement managed to pull in Doc Ock.
Otto let out a cry which turned into a wheeze as he felt Spider-man kick him dead in the chest, feeling the wind get knocked out of him.
This kick felt a helluva lot stronger than the last several thousand times Spider-man had done before.
Thankfully however, like a muscle memory, the four arms braced Doc Ock back before he attacked once more. He went down to his own two feet and began swiping all four of his mechanical arms at the Web-head.
What Doctor Octopus had not accounted for was for Spider-man to receive aid.
His mechanical arms had a natural awareness to them, similar to Spider-man but distinct from him as well.
It was a combination of low frequency adjusted "Radar" emitters that helped detect projectiles of any form at a limited speed and were all synced up in 'sight' in order to have a complete 360 view around their creator.
So thanks to these capabilities, one of the arms deflected several shots that were directed at him.
Stumbling back, Doc Ock laid his eyes upon a bipedal alien that he did not recognize holding a gun up in his direction.
"Alright Doc, I think it's time you stop embarrassing yourself and just give up" Garrus Vakarian declared aloud "Otherwise, you'll end up losing to Spider-man to what? The nine thousandth billion time?"
Ock only snarled in defiance, ready to fight whatever had come to oppose him.
By this point, many of the surrounding civilians had fled giving the combatants a wide berth.
This was exactly what Peter wanted and needed as now there were less chances of innocent people getting hurt in the crossfire.
"It is best you surrender, Doctor Otto Octavius" Liara had stepped forward, her biotics flaring up "You are no match for the three of us"
"How does it feel Ock chop" Peter quipped "Being on the other end of the stick?"
"Oh, I may be outnumbered" Doc Ock snidely said "But I am never one to be outclassed"
"Uh…dude, you know I hold back all the time, right?"
Doc Ock seemingly didn't hear Spider-man as he mentally commanded his arms to unleash one of their newest features.
Super-heated plasma lasers.
His Spider-sense screamed for him to move and he made sure to snag both Garrus and Liara to avoid the beams that cut through anything with ease.
"What the hell man?!" Peter yelled out "You could have killed somebody!"
"That was the idMMPH" Doc Ock was effectively silenced with a well-placed web shot to the face(Insert perverted joke here).
"That always works" Peter said with a joking tone
Liara then took her chance to ensnare Doc Ock in a biotic field.
This greatly startled the doctor which resulted in his mechanical arms wildly firing off beams to disrupt what was happening.
It achieved the desired result as one of the beams cut Liara's arm and nearly sliced off Garrus's shoulder.
Garrus was fine but Liara fell to the ground, clutching her arm.
Both Peter and Garrus rushed over to her which gave Doc Ock the perfect opportunity to retreat. Tearing the webbing away from his face, Doc Ock directed his arms to go at full speed. Spider-man was about to pursue but during his escape, Otto grabbed a handful of civilians who were in his way and began throwing them up in the air.
Greatly angered by this action, Peter made sure to save each one and get them to the ground.
Peter looked back to where Doc Ock had run off to and let out a disbelieving yell.
"Oh COME ON" Spider-man exclaimed, throwing his hands up "Seriously?! How the hell do they always do that?! That is so unfair!"
"Seriously" Garrus said, helping bandage up Liara "That's ridiculous"
"It is hard to believe that someone who attracted that kind of attention would get away so easily" Liara commented, wincing after Garrus applied medi-gel.
A second later, the sounds of sirens echoed around the area and in came the NYPD.
"This is a familiar sight" Peter remarked, rubbing his head
He had the sudden reflexive urge to jump and swing away as fast as possible but Garrus was already approaching the cops with his C-sec badge and identification out for them.
This began a slightly long process of the trio being 'Interrogated' by the officers but it wasn't as bad as one would expect.
Apparently, word and footage of the crew that worked alongside the first ever Human Spectre can get you those kinds of benefits of doubt.
So they were mostly free to go but they now knew that they were being kept under a watchful eye.
It didn't take long for them to return back to their hotel save for Spider-man who immediately went out to try to find a hair or clue as to the whereabouts of one of his oldest and most enduring enemies.
"Doctor Freaking Octopus" Spider-man said to himself while he was swinging between buildings "Of course that's the reason I get a headache with the power of a bomb. I can't get a break here nor there, can I?"
He flipped in the air and landed on the edge of a roof, plopping down to sit.
"Urgh" Peter took off his mask to rub his face in disappointing frustration.
"The one sign I get from home is one of my Arch nemesis'" Peter said with a mirthful chuckle "Good old Parker luck at its finest"
Hanging his head, Peter closed his eyes in contemplation, once more on the predicament on him being here.
"Only Three months" Peter murmured softly "Only three months from home yet a year and a half here"
Peter thought back to the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, his friends in the X-men and especially Aunt May.
"God I hope everyone is ok" Spider-man looked up to the illuminated sky of the big apple.
"Hey, I know I don't talk to you that often but can you give me a sign? Anything, please" Peter said a bit desperately "I just want to know that everything back home is ok?"
…
Peter drooped his head again and sighed in defeat.
"Of course that would happen. Why did I expect any differeAURGH"
Once more, his Spider-sense assailed him with a mental pain he had never felt. His Symbiot suit rattled in a frenzy of shared pain which subsided moments after the pain had struck.
Shaking his head to get rid of the pain as quickly as possible, Peter began looking around wildly to spot the source of his Spider-sense going off.
What he found was what appeared to be a young girl plummeting to the ground with no means of stopping herself.
With no hesitation, Peter jumped, masking himself in mid fall before speedily swinging to the rescue of the falling girl.
In a snap second, Spider-man had the young lady in her arms and swung upwards to safety.
"Alright, this is more promising" Peter said "Let's get you somewhere more comfortable"
Liara sat alone in her room, her hand gently grazing over her bandaged arm.
The young Asari had a thousand thoughts running through her head when it was interrupted by the entrance of Garrus who was carrying drinks and food.
Liara looked up to the Turian and held back a laugh at seeing the Turian have an 'I Heart NY' Sticker stamped to his armor and several other souvenirs that he brought along the way back to their suite.
"This place is, AMAZING" Garrus exclaimed "I know Peter always brags about Manhattan having a bit of everything if you know where to look, but WOW, just look at all this stuff Liara"
Now she was full blown laughing at her friends enthusiasm. It was a far off sight then the usual dry character that defines him.
"Look at this" Garrus held up a snow globe with a Turian battle ship in it "That's so nifty! And look, it's that statue of liberty out on the water as an Asari"
Liara chortled as Garrus handed her the snow globe with a very well-crafted variation of an all green Asari proudly holding up the torch and tablet of Lady liberty.
"How's the arm?" Garrus asked, setting aside all of his most recent acquisitions
"It's fine" Liara answered, nodding in thanks to the food he got for her "I'm more concerned for Peter"
Garrus let out a mirthful snort of sympathy.
"Is it sad to say that I kinda expected this to happen?" Garrus asked "The second we came to Manhattan, my first thought was, what kind of shenanigans will Peter rope us in to"
"You've spent the most time with him" Liara said with a shrug "It would be fitting that you would know him best. And pick up on his own tendencies"
"Urgh, don't remind me" Garrus bemoaned "I recently learned about a case that I 'Could have helped' with and now I feel guilty about it"
Liara chortled, sympathetically patting the Turian on his shoulder.
"Pretty soon, Peter will state that he needs to calibrate his suit for improvements"
"He already has" Garrus wryly said "Only to annoy me"
Liara then laughed aloud again, shaking her head at the "crestfallen" expression of Garrus. She then began opening up her food to eat.
"Where do you think Peter is right now?" Liara asked
Garrus shrugged, opening his own food and taking a bite out of the Dextro altered Pizza.
"He's either looking around for Doctor Octopus, sitting on a building and talking to a gargoyle…" Garrus said leaving a befuddled look on Liara
Garrus then blinked "Or he could be at our window with a young girl in his arms"
Liara tilted her head at Garrus's words, before turning back to see Spider-man with a young teenage human in his arms. He maneuvered her carefully as he managed to pry the window open successfully.
"Hey guys, so have I got another story for you" Peter said whimsically.
Scene cut
It was dark.
That was the first thought that came to Kamala's mind upon regaining a semblance of consciousness.
And there were voices. Muffled but getting clearer overtime. A ringing in the ears prevented her from distinguishing just who it was that was speaking.
Several moments passed, with the ringing slowly subsiding and the voices becoming much easier to sort out.
Two were clearly male, with one have a normal pitched voice with the other having some sort of vibration in his tone. The third was distinctly female, her voice young but with a smooth, mature edge to it.
As the voices got clearer, she managed to pick up a few of the words passed between them.
"…..lue light…"
"…ll ou….the sk…"
Kamala attempted to be silent and shift her head to see if she could get a better position to hear them but sadly, it caused her to grumble out in slight discomfort, effectively silencing those conversing before her.
"She's waking up" The female voice was clearly heard
"Think she's alright?" the vibrato voice asked
"She fell out of the sky, Garrus" The first male voice stated "How do you think she feels?"
"Wasn't she unconscious?"
"…"
"Ok point taken but we don't know the exact circumstances on how she got here"
"She was alright when Liara checked her over"
"But I am not Doctor Chakwas"
Kamala finally opened her eyes to find that her vision was blurry but it was clearing up quickly.
She saw the outline of three figures become more distinguished.
When she could see them clearly and perfectly, Kamala's eyes widened exponentially in amazement and shock.
The being on the left was clearly alien, at least two heads taller than her with avian-like features. The being on the right was distinctly female in appearance and almost human save for the fact that she was blue and had an unusual wavy like crest head.
But it was the one in the middle that gained Kamala's full, undivided attention.
The costume was different, pitch black.
But the lenses, the emblem, the posture, it was undoubtedly…
"SPIDER-MAN?!" The young Hero yelled out which in turn caused the hero to bolt over to her, clamping his hand over her mouth.
"Sh" Peter desperately said, using his free hand to make the make the 'shushing' gesture. His lenses seemingly widened as Kamala made a few erratic muffled sounds of her awe in being in the presence of one of her all-time favorite heroes.
Finally she fell into silent shock and admiration.
Seeing that she had calmed down, Peter let out a sigh, removing his hand from her mouth. She let out a small eep which made Peter freeze up and in turn made Kamala slap her hands over her mouth.
When she finally got her bearings and steadied her heart rate, kamala lowered her hands and exhaled making Peter do the same in turn.
"Sorry" She let out a small squeak
"It's ok" Peter placated "Just…well, you may need to find another way to let out all your screams"
"I can't believe this" Kamala began rambling excitedly "IthoughtitwasgonnabeanormaldaybutthenIsawbrightflashthenIran into Wolverine, whowaslookingforyouthenIwenttohelpandweranintoDoc OckandSandmanandthenwewentintoafight…"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa" Garrus waved his hands rapidly, cutting off the young heroes frantic dialogue "Catch your breath kiddo, or you might lose it. And I'll p reface this by saying, we didn't catch a word of what you just said"
Liara and Peter nodded in agreement.
Kamala then inhaled a gulp of air, letting it all out to decompress and relax as much as possible. She was still jittering uncontrollably at being in the presence of Spider-man.
However something else began to set in. Kamala's expression slowly morphed from one of adulation to nervousness and fear.
"Uh…Mister Spider-man sir" Kamala spoke in a quiet tone "Where exactly are we? Are those aliens next to you?"
Peter looked back and forth between Liara and Garrus who held hesitant expressions.
"Ok" Peter hung his head, trying to figure out just what to do next. He took a moment to assess the situation again, taking note of everything happened today.
They arrived in Manhattan.
Got to their Hotel.
Went to Times Square
Faced off against Doc Ock(Talk about Deja vu)
And now there was someone else in front of him that arrived the same way Doc Ock did. And to say her suit was peculiar was to say the least. There was something about it that he had definitely seen somewhere before.
Taking a moment to really analyze it, a thought struck his head.
"That little lightning bolt you got there" Peter said, eyeing the yellow symbol intently "There's only one other person I know of who has worn that and she's a good friend of mine"
"So it is true then?" Kamala sprang up on the bed, startling the trio "You did date Carol Danvers, right?! I totally ship Spider-Marvel!"
"Man, that woman's got some die-hard fans" Spider-man said in amusement, rubbing his head at her very joyful expression "Alright, yes there was a date and we'll leave it at that(At least that's what she did). Spider-Marvel? Is that what the forums called us?"
"Well, no, I mean yes, I mean…it's kinda up in the air" Kamala said with a sheepish face, once more realizing that she just went full fan-girl again
Then a stray thought appeared in Kamala's mind, making her gasp.
"OH NO" Kamala clutched her head "I didn't bring my autograph book"
Garrus proceeded to snort and guffaw.
"I don't know who you are, but I like you already"
"Thanks mister Alien sir" Kamala said happily
"Ok, ok" Peter raised his voice a bit "Let's just, back track a bit here, alright?"
"So" Peter faced Kamala "What do you remember before waking up here?"
Kamala paused in contemplation and scrunched up her face in deep thought.
"Well…I was in Manhattan" Kamala began "I was spending the day with my friend when I saw this flash of light in an alleyway and went in to investigate. Then I ran into Wolverine who was apparently looking for you"
"Logan?!" Spider-man said in shock and jubilation "You ran into old Wolvie?"
"You call him old Wolvie?" Kamala gushed "Oh, Tamika is gonna love that. Her bro-friendship fanfiction between you and Wolverine was number one on Freaking Awesome"
"Spidey" Garrus deadpanned, making the web-head realize they had gotten off topic
"Right" Peter nodded in thanks to Garrus, looking back to Kamala "You were saying?"
"So I ran into Wolverine and then I teamed up with him cause he told me he was looking for you" Kamala went on "We ran into Doctor Octopus and the Sandman when we saw a door into a building. Wolverine was all like(In her impersonation of him) Stay here kid, I gotta go kick some butt. And then he went all SNIKT SNIKT *EEEE*"
Spider-man only shook his head, greatly amused by this young heroes blatant adoration for all things super.
"He went in and like 5 seconds later I heard all this noise and I rushed in like, HEEYAH" Kamala did a jump kick and flopped onto the bed, sitting up immediately
She went on to animatedly over exaggerate her encounter with two of Spider-man's most well-known and documented personal villains which impressed the veteran hero until she got to the point of wherein a glowing rock fell into her lap and she woke up in another Manhattan.
"One of the pieces" Liara instantly said getting nods from both Garrus and Peter.
"Uh…One of the Pieces of what?" Ms. Marvel Asked in confusion
The trio before her glanced at one another, upon realizing that they have a lot of explaining to do.
"What do I call you?" Peter asked first and foremost "Marvel-Girl? Cadet Marvel? Ms. Marvel junior?"
Kamala only placed her hands on her hips, puffed out her chest and proudly threw her head up and declared…
"You can call me…Ms. Marvel" Kamala said in the most righteous voice she could muster
Peter shook his head, slightly hesitant as to the conversation that is about to go down.
"You may wanna sit down for this one Junior M" Peter said kindly "You're in for a rough one"
Put off by the words, Kamala regardless obeyed the hero as he was one of her own idols.
"Do you want anything kid?" Garrus asked politely "I could order some room service to bring you something up"
"She could have my lunch if anything" Peter stated to both Garrus and Kamala "You like Pizza?"
"Who doesn't?"
Peter smirked beneath his mask, patting the young girl on the back as he sat down beside her.
"Alright, Marvel Girl" Peter exhaled "You're in another universe…"
Scene Cut
"Come on man, please, that's my wife's ring" A beaten down man pleaded to a group of muggers one of which held his said wife with a knife to her neck.
The head leader of this little gang only grinned maliciously at the man under his boot, proudly holding up the ring.
"And it's got a nice shine to it" He said with sick satisfaction "Like your Doll face of a wife there"
The man on the ground realized in horror at their intentions, with the rest of the men laughing evilly while the woman only paled and began to leak tears.
"No" He said desperately "You take anything, but you leave her alone"
"Now where is the fun in that?" One of the cronies mocked, getting another round of laughs
"We're gonna take our time with her" The leader said again "And you're gonna watch"
"NO" The husband struggled to get back up and was promptly shot in both legs for his troubles.
The wife cried out in pure shock, tears spilling down at the sight of her husband writhing on the ground in pain.
One held up the injured man while the rest began crowding around the struggling woman who tried to do everything her power to escape her clutches.
Just as the ring leader grabbed onto the woman's blouse, a metallic fleshy sound was heard in the alleyway that made all present pause.
"Well, well" Said a growly voice "Today's looking like it's my lucky day"
Everyone turned to the entrance of the alleyway and only saw a shadowed figure with only the six "knives" catching the light.
"So"
A man in a Black and gray suit stepped out from the shadow and gave the thugs a bone-chilling grin as he held up both hands. He scraped both claws against each other, causing sparks to fly for a shiver to run down the spines of all those in front of him.
"Which one of you sorry bubs are first?" Wolverine asked with a sharp toothed grin
And I will end it here because here's something you guys needed to know.
Originally this chapter was to be a freakishly long one, well over close to 20,000 words.
But due to time and challenge and my overwhelming sickness, I am cutting this chapter into a two parter
Yes, at long last, Peter gets more visitors from his universe.
With a dash of that Parker luck, he's got two friend and two enemies to deal with
The inclusion of Kamala Khan for me was a serious topic as I had struggled and struggled with the idea of whether or not I should include. She is the most recent newest Marvel hero that I genuinely enjoy as she is in a lot of ways like Spider-man.
And Wolverine was an eventuality. He was gonna make an appearance sooner or later and I thought why not introduce him now then? Keep the story rolling.
Sandman and Doctor Octopus were also gonna appear and enter the Mass Effect universe, something I had discussed with one of my longtime supporters and collaborator's BioshockerN7. Jebest is also been a huge contribution to this story as you'll see one of his ideas play out in the coming chapters.
I just love having people give me the inspiration needed to continue this giant of a story.
So anyway, I hope you guys all had a happy new year, cause mine was wrought with me and my family getting sick
