Silent Hill: Forgotten Sister
Chapter 3: The Secret Wall
12:30 p.m.
I finally finished the laundry and I feel relieved. Speaking of the laundry, I was down in the basement gathering all of mine and Josh's clothing.
What I plan on doing is organizing our clothes and then I will leave Josh a note saying that he has to clean the back yard. As soon as I finish putting our clothes away, I am going to eat and get ready for work. If he doesn't clean it, oh well. I'm just going to tell my parents that I had to leave for work.
I folded one last piece of cloth, placed it in the basket and made my way upstairs. As I entered my bedroom, I noticed on my bed stand that my cell phone was going off. Who could it be? I sarcastically thought.
I looked at my phone. Three missed calls from Jeff and ten-whoops! Eleven unread messages from him. He must be back in town. Laugh out loud! I thought. I totally forgot to call him. Though I did tell him I would call him when I am done. Meh! I consider myself done.
I laid the clothes basket on my bed and began to organize the clothes into the drawers. Before I continued on, I stopped for a little bit so I could call Jeff. I dialed his number and left it on speaker as the phone rang.
*ring ring ring*
Ten seconds have passed and usually when I call Jeff, that weirdo usually answers before or after the first ring. Haha did he die or something?
"Hello?" answered Jeff softly.
I kept quiet for a moment. Hold on...
"LOL YOU THOUGHT BITCH!" yelled Jeff. "Haha, well I am not available at the moment. Just leave a voicemail and I'll get to you asap. Deuces!"
I hung up. I am not that dumb. Jeff has his voicemail set up to trick people that he is available. Another thing is, when I call him, Jeff never answers softly. He either yells or makes weird ass noises or he gets too excited.
I sighed. He'll call back eventually. In the mean time, I am going to go take a cold bath to relax before work.
I reached into my underwear drawer and took out a pair of orange boxers. I grabbed my phone and entered the bathroom. As I entered the bathroom, I closed the door behind me, locked it, and turned the water on. It'll take a few minutes for the tub to fill up so in the meantime, I'll go downstairs to get a quick snack.
Downstairs, my mom was still in the lounge except this time, she was sitting in her rocking chair, reading a book. I ignored her and went into the kitchen. I feel bad about our little argument earlier but at the same time I am like whatever about it. All I wanted to do was give that doll away but mom nuts about it. Well whatever, I thought. That was the past and eventually, I'll forget about it.
I opened a cabinet and grabbed a small bag of pretzels and a bag of the fudge poptarts. After getting food, I opened the fridge and took one of Josh's fruit punch juice boxes. These snacks are usually his lunch but meh! He won't miss these.
As I made my way upstairs, my phone began to ring. Whoop! There he is! I reached into my pocket and quickly accepted the call.
"Ring ring herro," I greeted. "Welcome To Panda! How can I help you?"
"Uh yea," replied Jeff. "Can I get an order of that sweet ass?"
I chuckled.
"Aye!" I greeted. "Sorry for ignoring your calls and texts. I've been busy all morning."
"You better be," complained Jeff. "Or else I'm going to fight you."
I rolled my eyes.
"Good luck with that," I laughed.
I entered the bathroom. The tub was almost full and I decided to stop it right where it was so it doesn't overflow.
"Anyways," said Jeff as he changed the subject. "What are you doing?"
I placed my snacks on the counter, my phone as well but on speaker and I began to strip.
"About to take a bath," I replied as I took my shorts off.
"Sounds hot," replied Jeff. "Can I join ya?"
"Fuck you!" I laughed.
"When and where?" asked Jeff.
I started laughing. I literally cannot believe this guy, I thought. He can be too gay sometimes which I don't mind. Hehe.
"What about you?" I asked.
After I disposed of all of my clothes, I grabbed my snacks and entered the tub. It was so damn cold, it felt like I was in the Poles yet it felt so damn good.
"I could be with you in the tub but you rejected me and I'm unpacking my shit," replied Jeff.
"Awww," I pitied. "Poor you."
"Whatever," Jeff said with attitude. "But hey, can I come over though?"
"Sure," I replied. "But you have to do something for me."
"Anything for Alex-boo!" cooed Jeff.
I rolled my eyes.
"Can you drive me to work?" I asked. "I don't want to take my car because it needs an oil change."
"Then why didn't you change it today?" questioned Jeff.
"I've been so busy doing stupid chores around the house," I informed. "I didn't have time to take a dump. Right now is my only alone time."
"I see," said Jeff. "I'll be glad to give you a ride."
"Thank you!" I said with relief. "You're the man."
"No problemo," replied Jeff. "How long are you going to be in the tub?"
"I don't know," I stated. "Like thirty to forty minutes. Why?"
"Ok," said Jeff. "I'll be at your house in five."
With that, Jeff just hung up. This guy! I thought. He has no patients or manners. I can guarantee that Jeffery is going to give me fucking gray hairs by the end of the day.
. . .
12:52 p.m.
UGH! I screamed internally. SO MUCH FOR RELAXATION! I am so upset because I only got to take a fifteen, twenty five minute bath. The first ten minutes of my bath session, I got to enjoy. Then I got a call from Jeff saying that he has arrived at my house. I was cool with it and all but I told him, 'aye give me five minutes to finish relaxing.' Not even a second and he started bitching that he wanted to see me. UGH!
Honestly, I don't mind Jeff here at the house but not alone. Last time he was here alone, let's just say I got yelled at by my dad. So I told him to wait in my room. I rather have him destroy my bedroom than the house.
I finished drying my body and put on my orange boxers. I grabbed my phone, my dirty clothes and my garbage and made my way out of the bathroom into my bedroom. As I entered, I saw Jeff leaning back on the computer chair, looking up at the ceiling. I tossed my garbage into the trash.
"Hey ugly," I greeted. "Long time no see!"
Jeff quickly sat up. He got up and ran to me.
"About damn time!" complained my green eyed friend.
He reached towards me and we did our secret handshake and hugged each other. Ok! Let me tell you about Jeffrey real quick even though I did not earlier. He has been my best friend ever since kindergarten. We met one day when he didn't have lunch and me, being the cool kid, I shared with him. Jeff is really smart yet he can be dumb and perverted when he wants to. I like Jeff because he is just so cool and acts himself. Thought, it can be a bit too much sometimes...
A/N: Jeff is the same height and age as Alex with shoulder length dark brown hair and green eyes. He has a light skin tone but burns easily during the summer. Jeff, like Alex, is built yet he is super skinny. He wore dark jeans with gray Vans, a blue long sleeved shirt and a black jacket.
"It's great seeing you," I said. "I freaking missed you!"
"How do you think I felt in Canada?" questioned Jeff.
"Yea?" I asked. "Haha!"
I wandered over to my jean dresser and took out a pair of dark blue jeans.
"So how was it?" I asked as I began to put my pants on.
My friend went a trip to Canada for the past couple weeks because it was a birthday gift for his mom. He saved up so much money just for this and I give him credit. It's a very nice thing to do.
"It was great," replied Jeff. "My mom really enjoyed Niagara Falls."
"That's good," I stated. "What did you guys do?"
"We first went to Niagara Falls and then from there, we went to Toronto," informed Jeff. "Then we stayed at this fancy hotel called The Nights. After getting a hotel, we just wandered around Toronto and visited museums."
"Any girls?" I asked.
"A lot," replied Jeff. "They were literally something else. Oh my gosh!"
I chuckled. As Jeff was in a state of hot Canadian girls, I went over to my closet to get a shirt and my shoes. I grabbed a black shirt and my black Vans. Before I finished getting ready, I went to my dresser to get a pair of white ankle socks. Then I sat down on the bed and began to get ready.
"Have you talked to Elle?" I asked.
"I tried contacting her but she couldn't talk that long," replied my green eyed friend.
"How come?" I asked.
"Classes, remember?" replied Jeff.
"Ahh," I said.
Elle has nursing classes Monday through Friday around this time.
"Sucks that we don't get to see her that much," I informed.
"I know," agreed Jeff. "At least this will be worth it for her. She'll find a better job and move on with her life."
"Yupp," I agreed. "Hey! Can you wait here for just a bit?"
"Sure," said Jeff. "Where are you going?"
"Bathroom," I said as I exited the room.
I entered the bathroom and began to take out all of my bathroom items such as my deodorant and hair gel. I began to get ready.
7 minutes later...
"There we go," I said to myself as I finished spiking my hair up.
I closed my gel jar and washed my hands. I couldn't help but stare at myself whenever I finish getting ready because I look so damn good. Confidence booster!
After I finished washing my hands, I left the bathroom.
"Catch!" I heard Jeff yell.
I quickly turned around and a sharp object hit me in the chest. I stumbled backwards against the wall.
*crack*
Hopefully that crack was the family portrait, not the wall. Speaking of the portrait, as I regained balance, the family portrait fell to the floor and shattered.
"Really Jeff? Really?" I questioned annoyed.
"I felt the need to scare you," informed my green eyed friend.
"No it was not necessary," I said. "My chest hurts now and a picture broke. What the hell was that?"
"Josh's football," stated Jeff.
I glared at my green eyed friend.
"Boo who," Jeff said sarcastically.
Fuck you, I thought.
I knelt down and began to pick up the broken glass. I picked up a big piece of glass and it cut me on my thumb.
"Ow fuck!" I cried dropping all the glass I collected.
"What's wrong?" Jeff said overdramatically.
"I cut myself with some glass," I said.
"Oh no!" cried Jeff. "Alex-boo is going to die!"
"Oh shush," I said angrily. "Can you pick up the rest of the broken picture while I'm cleaning up my thumb?"
"Anything for you Alex," Jeff said seductively.
I rolled my eyes and entered the bathroom. I turned my sink on to warm and began to wash out my bloody thumb. After that, I wrapped it in a towel to prevent it from bleeding and I opened the cabinet to get the spraying alcohol and Band-Aids. I bit down on the towel to prevent me from screaming. I sprayed my wound.
"Fucking shit!" I yelled in the towel.
Finally, the bleeding stopped. I put on a Ninja Turtle band aid, looking one hundred percent badass.
"I'm done," I said annoyed as I walked out.
"Yo Alex!" said Jeff. "Take a look at this."
"What is it?" I asked.
My green eyed friend pointed out a burn in the family picture.
"Okay," I said. "The picture burned. What about it?"
"Nooo," said Jeff. "Look closely."
I looked closely and I noticed by my dad was a small arm.
"It's a small arm, so what?" I questioned. "That family picture was taken with my cousin Angelina. My mom said that picture got burned one day."
"Wait, so you've always known about the arm?" questioned Jeff.
"Yupp," I said. "It's no surprise."
"Well I didn't!" informed my green eyed friend.
"It sucks to suck doesn't it?" I said.
Jeff rolled his eyes.
"I also noticed something else," commented my green eyed friend.
"Haha what?" I asked. "That Toluca Lake picture right next to the portrait of me and Josh?"
I giggled and Jeff punched me in the right arm.
"OW!" I yelled as I was rubbing my right arm. "I was just messing with you! No need to hit!"
"You deserve it for being an ass ya jackass," commented Jeff.
"Says the man who scared me," I said sarcastically.
Jeff scoffed.
"Ok ok," I said. "I'm sorry. What did you notice Jeffery? Please share!"
My green eyed friend pointed out a vertical crack on the wall.
"Dude," said Jeff. "I don't think that is a wall."
"Okay?" I said unsure of. "What are you on about?"
Jeff pushed the wall very hard and it opened like a door.
"Really Jeff?" I questioned. "Do you want my dad to murder me tomorrow morning?"
"Look!" he pointed out.
"What the fuck?" I said.
It was another room. It's very dark in there and the only light in there is coming from the cracks of the boards that covered the windows. The light shined on a small well made bed. Jeff tried turning the light switch, that was by the door, on but it didn't work. The electricity to that room must be cut.
"Come on," said Jeff entering the room in further "Let's check it out."
"No," I said grabbing Jeff's arm and pulling him back. "I am not in the mood to get yelled at by my parents. Maybe some other time."
Jeff sighed.
"Look," I said. "I got ready early and I still have some time before work. Do you want to go eat somewhere?"
"Hell yea!" yelled Jeff with excitment.
I will do anything to get Jeff's mind off that bedroom. If we got caught by my mom, we're dead!
"Help me fix the wall door first," I ordered.
Jeff and I pulled on the wall and slammed it towards us. The wall/door closed, leaving white dust everywhere. My green eyed friend and I quickly cleaned up the mess. Afterwards, I grabbed the destroyed picture and threw it on the dresser that was by my parent's room. There are a few scratches on the wall due to the ball hitting it but I don't think no one will notice the crack. I hope not…
. . .
Jeff and I were sitting at a table in Pizza Palace. Pizza Palace is an arcade pizzeria that everyone in town enjoys. Every month there is a different theme like outer space, renaissance, Halloween, Christmas etc. Since the month is September, it's a cheesy fall theme.
"So what do you think is in that secret room in your house?" Jeff asked curiously.
Jesus! I thought. I was kind of hoping he'd forget but I guess not. Then again, it's Jeff and this man has ADHD.
"Probably old junk," I replied taking a sip of my large Dr. Pepper.
"Well, it won't hurt to check it out," informed Jeff. "You know, curiosity did kill the cat."
"That's true," I said. "I am curious but at the same time I really don't care. I just don't want to get in trouble."
"Come on live a little Alexander," said Jeff.
I rolled my eyes and scoffed.
"Have you met my dad?" I questioned. "A formal military colonel? Remember seeing him in uniform?"
"I know you're dad is a hardass and everything but you need to be living freely and not in fear," informed Jeff. "You're a grown man for fuck sakes!"
"No thank you," I said.
Jeff does not understand who my dad is and was. Yea I know my dad is a hardass but to this day, I am trying very hard to earn his respect and be the favorite child for once.
"Ok, whatever," said Jeff. "Anyways, why don't you sneak in that room tonight and look around? If you find anything or not, tell me tomorrow."
"I don't know," I said. "It's not really that important."
"To you it isn't but to me, I am curious," informed Jeff.
I took another sip of my soda.
"I'm curious too but at the same time I don't care," I said. "It's probably a secret room like the one in the basement."
"Fine then," said Jeff. "I'll just go to your house when you're sleeping and I'll look myself."
"How about no," I said.
The last time Jeff snuck into my house, I have never been in so much trouble before. My dad lost it very badly. Jeff did weird things and it was embarrassing. I don't even want to think about it.
"Please for me," said Jeff. "I won't bother you anymore."
"You lie," I said as I took another sip of my drink.
"Can you please do this for me?!" complained Jeff. "I don't really like to ask for much."
I rolled my eyes.
Jeff stared at me for a few seconds. He finally opened his mouth.
"Fine then," said Jeff. "You can walk to work."
Oh my god, I thought.
"Fine," I sighed. "I'll do it and I'll tell you tomorrow. Please don't come to my house again at night. You almost killed me with your weirdness. And please can you take me to work."
Jeff chuckled.
"Good times bro, good times," he laughed.
I shook my head.
"Let's talk about something else," I said changing the subject.
"Oh…okay," said Jeff. "Hmm… I saw your mom. We talked and stuff."
"Talked and stuff," I repeated. "Sounds interesting. Please tell me more."
"I just told her about my Canadian trip," informed my green eyed friend.
"That's cool," I said.
Man! I thought. I just want to go eat and go to work!
