A/N: Thanks to boaflower6575 for reviewing! :)

This is the final chapter of the story, the closing words of the guide. While perhaps not telling a gripping narrative, I hope that this fic has given the Third Quarter Quell a little more colour.

Anyway, I hope that you enjoy today's chapter :)

A Word From the President

The Thoughts of Coriolanus Snow, Twenty-Sixth President of Panem

Another year has come to pass, and the Games are back again. I must confess that sometimes, at my age, it feels as though they've barely left before the carnival begins once more.

But we all know that the Hunger Games is about more than just competition.

This year, perhaps more than any other at such a notable anniversary of the Dark Days that once tore through our lands, the Hunger Games will cause us to look backwards, to our history. Seventy-five years ago, President Shawcross oversaw the writing of the Treaty of Treason, to guarantee that Panem would never suffer the way it did in those unfortunate years. As we all know, with the Treaty of Treason came the Hunger Games.

As I read my predecessor's writing on the card I selected for the Third Quarter Quell, it became clear that this year's Games would be more important and powerful than ever, in every sense. Hard-core fans of the Games may tell me what a dream come true this year's Games are going to be, while others might not be ready to part with their champions just yet.

I do not know why Shawcross chose for previous victors to go into the 75th Games when he wrote that card. Perhaps, in forcing us to give away our most beloved victors to the arena, we may be experiencing a small token of the loss that each of Panem's twelve districts feel every year. Perhaps a reminder for us politicians not to rock the boat, as much as every year the Games serve the same reminder to the districts.

In light of recent tensions, it can never be stressed more that the unity our country holds is our salvation. We are far weaker divided than we are when working as a whole. In the current climate, it seems to me that we should never forget that the Hunger Games is, primarily, a reminder of the desperate times we suffered through when Panem was forced apart.

Through thick and thin, the Hunger Games have given us all a perspective on the horrors of a return to the dangerous times of the Dark Days. For seventy-five years, this annual reminder of our loss has led to order, stability and cohesion never before seen in our proud nation. United for so long, we have achieved great things this century, things that many of us would never have dreamed of.

The Hunger Games, that powerful memorial to rebellion, has driven us into this wonderful age.

Here's to the next seventy-five years.

A/N: Hopefully that sounded presidential enough...

Finally, after many chapters (and a long, unexpected hiatus), this story is complete! Hopefully it's been an entertaining read :)

If you have enjoyed this chapter (or, indeed, the story as a whole), please review! I'll always welcome criticism, and will probably be spending some time going back and improving on this story when I see changes that need making :)

I also want to give another reminder that if you are interested in the victors shown in this fic, they are featured further in the fic they were created for: 75 Games, 75 Victors, 75 Oneshots. You can find it on my profile if you're interested!

Finally, I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to read, review, follow and favourite this fic - the interest and the support has made writing this fanfic worthwhile :)
