Well folks, it's time that the little one shot that could has it's happily ever after. I am so very appreciative of all of you who have taken an interest in this story. I tried hard to work in as many requests as possible as we all had some fluffy Doccubus fun. Thanks for encouraging me to do more than the one shot. I am surprised at how long it lasted, but I have to admit I've petered out, sorry. Check out wantedstrangers on twitter to see what me and Sydney563 are up to. Chapter 20
6 months later
"Babe, I am so proud of you." Bo pulls Lauren into her, locking her hands behind and placing a chaste kiss on her girlfriend's lips. "Your validectorian speech was amazing and you look so damn hot in your cap and gown," she smiles brightly.
Bo couldn't hold back the brilliant smile even if she wanted to at the sight of her girlfriend at the podium delivering her speech to a room full of largely over privileged men and women. She had worked her ass off to graduate top in her class. Bo is well aware of the long hours and commutes, nights and weekends, that Lauren put herself through with barely any time for herself. She is forever grateful that Lauren made some time for her to be a part of her life.
As she hold the love of her life in her arms, she glances around at the loving smiles of their friends and family. Who would have though that she found all this in a strip club? They did finally tell Mary about the dancing job and how they really met. After a few hours of being understandably upset that her daughter had to do such a job, Mary came to the decision that it was all part of her journey and that she was just happy that her daughter was finally whole again. Lauren and Trick formed a bond and keep in touch regularly. He has been nothing short of her biggest cheerleader, saying he knew the first time he saw her that she was special and he had to get her out of the dump she was working in.
Kenzi pushes in between them, breaking Bo's bubble and crushing her best friend with a tight hug. "Yeah, Doc, you were awesome sauce up there and you are definitely rockin' that big ass drapey thing your wearing."
"Definitely," Hale follows with enthusiasm.
"Lauren, or should I say Dr. Lewis, you were wonderful indeed," Trick adds.
Lauren rolls her eyes and feels the blush rise up her cheeks. It's as much from the compliments as it is from Bo admiring her form unabashedly in front of the others. "Thanks you guys." She looks around questioningly. "Where's Tamsin?"
"Oh, umm, she said she had something to pick up and would meet us at the apartment. She's extremely proud of you and the fact that I snagged myself a doctor," Bo laughs. She sandwiches Kenzi between them and kisses Lauren again.
"Eww, gross! Let me out. I said no three ways you guys," the girl whines, struggling to get free as Bo and Lauren press tighter for a moment.
Mary shakes her head and laughs at the craziness. She takes her daughter by both hands and moves to face her. "You are going to be such a fantastic doctor Lauren, I just know it. You are going to do so much for the medical profeesion and change lives." Mary gushes, giving her daughter a warm hug and whispering into her ear, "I know your father is watching and he is so proud of you dear."
Her mom pulls away, both of them holding back tears of joy and sadness. "Thanks mom. I love you."
"I love you too, Lauren. I believe it's time for that celebration Kenzi has been planning. What do you guys think?"
"Hell's yes!" Kenzi hops up and down, dragging Hale by the hand toward the apartment.
Bo slips her hand into Lauren's as they begin to walk home. They turn around when they hear a woman's voice call out, "Dr. Lewis!"
Lauren's eyes widen in surprise when she sees who it is. "Evony? What are you doing here?"
The woman strides up elegantly in her dark designer dress and heels. She definitely has a commanding presence regardless of her surroundings and the new doctor feels herself stiffen as the woman approaches. Bo drapes an arm protectively around her girlfriend's waist, a look of confused concern on her face. Mary whispers out of the side of her mouth, "Who is this woman?"
"Bo, Dr. Lewis, so glad I caught you. I'm afraid that I was a bit late arriving." The threesome look on, waiting to hear how Evony has come to be at Yale today. She catches onto their questioning glares and props her hands on her hips, giving them her "you know I know everything" look. "Oh honey, do you really think that I would miss this very important day in my favorite ad exec's special lady's life?" She quirks her brow in challenge.
Bo is flabbargasted that the woman has taken an interest in them. She looks at Lauren, who is now staring at Evony with her professional mask and polite smile that she wears when dealing with the higher ups at events they have attended. "Umm, I'm sorry, I didn't know you cared that much Evony or I would have sent you an invite," she says with embarrassment.
Lauren pipes in with her political prowess, knowing that the woman is all about appearances and the need to be fawned over. "I am honored that you that you would take the time from your very busy schedule for us. That is a grand gesture and only reinforces what I already know, that you are wildly successful because you know how to take care of the people that take care of you."
"See now Dr. Lewis, that is what I love about you. You understand me. You understand what it takes to navigate the hoity-toidy bullshit by appealing to my narcissistic nature." She smirks at Bo, "You better take good care of this one, Bo."
It was Lauren who answered with her own smirk, stopping Bo before she could get a word in. "You are always the sweet talker Evony, but I can assure you Bo takes very good care of me," she lowers her voice, "in every way possible."
Lauren winks and Bo finds herself blushing while mom watches the exchange curiously. She's never seen her daughter interact with anyone like this, but she is struck by her typically shy and reserved daughter's composure and confidence. She knows right away that Lauren will go places with her knack for smoozing the high rollers. It's a trait that makes the difference between being a talented surgeon and being a talented surgeon who gets to the top of their field. It's as much about rubbing elbows as it is being good at your job and with Lauren's ambitions, it's good to see that she has all the tools to achieve her dreams.
Evony throws her head back and lets out a salacious laugh. "Lauren, that is exactly why I am going to have my eye on your every move during your seven year residency here at Yale Neuro. I know talent and I know who can make me money," she nods at Bo. "I told you that I can get you into any research project or hospital you desire. You want to help people and I want you to do that while fronting my fundraising team. I always get what I want doctor."
"We shall see, but I am flattered by your interest. Right now, I am focused on spending a little time with my family and preparing for a very hectic seven years. Oh, I'm sorry. I've been very rude, Evony this is my mother Dr. Mary Lewis. Mom, Evony is part owner of Morrigan liquors and head of several multi-billion dollar business ventures."
"Dr. Lewis, it is my pleasure to meet you. I'm sure I don't have to tell you how amazing your daughter is."
"No, but I like hearing it anyway," Mary smiles. "Thank you and the pleasure is all mine. Would you be joining us for a few drinks? We are headed home to toast the new doctor."
"I'm afraid not, but far be it from me to show up empty handed. I know you have many long days ahead of you and a person of your newly acquired stature shouldn't be driving that old jalopy of yours. You've worked hard doctor, as have you Bo. Our new rum just beat out Bacardi for top sales in the U.S. thanks to her hard work, so in honor of the new power couple," she pulls out two sets of keys, "my little gift to the two of you. I'll let you fight over the colors."
All three ladies stand there with their mouths agape.
"Wow!" That's all Mary can muster.
"Umm, Evony, I don't know what to say. You know I won't commit to anything right now, "Lauren cautions.
"Nonsense. I think of it in an investment in the future. Enjoy the cars. They are both outside the apartment. Titles are in the glovebox and ready to go. Just know that I really do believe that you are meant for great things and those are the people I want working with me."
"Thank you Evony," Bo and Lauren say in tandem.
"You're welcome. Now, I must take my leave. I promised I wouldn't leave Dyson tied to the bed too long this time, but I wish you all a wonderful day." She tosses the keys to them with a mischievous smirk, whirling around extravagantly.
She doesn't have to go far before a black Bentley pulls up beside her. A man hurries out to open the door for her. With a nod back at the ladies, she disappears behind dark tinted windows.
"Holy crap! Did that just happen?" Bo studies the keys in her hand. "She bought us BMW's, Lauren."
When they arrive at the apartments, they see black and ice blue BMW M6 series coupes parked outside. Bo turns to look at Lauren who wastes no time calling dibs, "I call black!"
"Aww babe," Bo pouts and slumps in defeat.
"Just kidding, Bo. I like the blue," Lauren kisses her cheek and giggles. "You should have seen the look on your face."
"That's mean, Lauren. You are a mean woman," Bo huffs with a smirk.
"Yeah, but you love me."
"Yes, I do."
Mary laughs as her daughter runs up to the car and opens the door. She pulls out her phone and dials Kenzi.
"What up doc? And why aren't you guys here getting your drink on already?"
"Kenz, you gotta come down stairs. You're not going to believe what happened after you left."
"What?"
"Just get down here."
Ten seconds later the goth and Hale are downstairs looking at Bo and Lauren leaning on the cars.
"I probably wouldn't do that. You know how Beamer owners are, especially the pompous assholes at this school," Kenzi warns.
"Oh, I know how they are, because I am one now." Lauren smirks.
'Holy ball sauce! How?"
"Evony gave us matching cars. She caught us right after you left. It's unbelievable."
Kenzi and Lauren run around and hop inside, opening the sun roof and playing with the radio. Bo takes Mary by the hand, "Come on." She puts her in the passenger seat of her car as they play with the gadgets as well.
"Lauren, this is an M series. That's like, over a hundred grand each."
Lauren swallows hard, she had no idea. She didn't even look at the model.
"That Evony, she never ceases to surprise," Hale says with a smile. "She comes off all bitch, but she's a good one, as long as you're on her good side."

Later that evening, Trick, Hale, Kenzi and Mary are trading Lauren stories in the living room. Mary was surprised to hear Hale's tale of the time she gave Dyson a piece of her mind, which once again earned a raucous applause. Trick shares stories of Lauren helping the other dancers and studying in the back before her shift. The guys laugh as Kenzi and Mary share a few of Lauren's more embarrassing moments growing up. Kenzi pulls Mary into her shoulder and kisses her cheek.
"Momma Lewis, it feels so good to have a family back, to have you and Lauren happy again."
"It does, doesn't it? Seeing you guys so happy and in love makes me happy Kenz."
Over in the dining room, the ladies are carrying on as they relax from the days events and get a few drinks in them.
"Lauren, I just want to say how happy I am for you. That's no easy feat. You're definitely the smartest person I've ever met, even if you did choose Bo," Tamsin chuckles and nudges the brunette.
"Har har, Tam," Bo responds cheekily.
"Thanks Tamsin. I suppose I should thank you for guiding her in the right direction so we even had a chance to meet," Lauren clinks her glass to Tamsin's as the older blonde gives her a smile and appreciative nod.
Suddenly Bo asks for everyone's attention. The crew gathers around and Tamsin hands them each a glass of champagne.
"First, I want to congratulate the amazing Dr. Lauren Lewis for achieving her goal of graduating at the top of her class. We all know ho much work she put into it and we are all extremely proud of you."
"Hear, hear!" Everyone salutes as Bo puts her glass down.
"Second," she turns to face Lauren and drops to her knee. Mary gasps and Lauren's mouth falls open in shock. "I know you said you didn't want to think about anything while you were in school. Well, now you are officially out of school. Lauren, you have touched everyone in this room's life in one way or another, but none more than mine. I never believed that I was worthy of being happy. Even as I became successful in work, something was missing. That something was you. You made me whole and from that very first kiss, you made me believe that there were good things in life and that I could really have it all. But of all the things in the world that I could have, the only one I want is you. Dr. Lauren Lewis, would you do me the honor of letting me be your wife, to have and to hold until death do us part?"
Bo finishes and holds out the ring box with a trembling hand. She opens it to reveal a beautiful diamond encrusted band, one that Lauren wouldn't have to take on and off at work all the time. She remembered her girlfriend saying that large gaudy rings were a nuisance when you spend all day taking latex gloves on and off. Through happy tears, Lauren bends down and cups Bo's face, kissing her passionately.
"Yes, Bo. I want nothing more than for you to be my wife," she smiles and pulls her up by the hand. Bo slips the ring on, fitting perfectly. She kisses Lauren again as everyone cheers and toasts the newly engaged couple.
"You can thank Tamsin for running to pick it up. I was hoping it would be ready today."
"Thank you. It truly is beautiful. Mom?" Lauren turns, looking for her mother, who comes running over with Kenzi, both of them teary eyed.
"Did you know about this mom?"
"Kind of. Bo asked my permission last week, but I didn't know when she was going to ask. I couldn't be happier. You two are absolutely perfect for one another."
"Yeah, what momma Lewis said," Kenzi echoed and pulled the all four of them into a group hug.

With the residency about to begin, there is be little time to deal with weddings or honeymoons and neither of them wanted a seven year engagement. If they were honest, they both would have gotten married the night of the proposal if they could have. Lauren never wanted to do the whole wedding thing, but she knows her mom and Kenzi would like some kind of ceremony. Both she and Bo loved the Hamptons, so Hale offers his beach house for the ceremony. Three weeks later, they are all gathered on the private beach on a picture perfect summer evening. It is simple and intimate. Everyone is barefoot and wearing off white dresses for the ladies and linen suits for the men. Lauren, Bo, Mary, Kenzi, Tamsin, Evony, Trick, Hale and the minister are lined accordingly on the beach as the vows are spoken and rings exchanged. They pose for pictures and have a larger reception for other's to attend. It is another moment that Bo has burned into her mind as a moment to remember. The love in Lauren's eyes as she held her hand and repeated the vows filled Bo's heart in a way she couldn't verbally explain. There really is something about taking that step with the person you cherish that changes everything. You think you're committed to them before, but as you look into one another's souls in the presence of your loved ones and promise forever, it has a much deeper meaning than you can comprehend until you do it.
Lauren finally feels complete. She has let go of her insecurities and surrendered to Bo. Letting her in was the best thing she ever did as the woman healed her, her mother and brought this whole group together. She never wanted to open herself again, but something about Bo seemed inevitable. Just as Bo said when she proposed, something was missing and for her it was Bo. Feeling that cool metal ring on her finger feels indescribably amazing and she feels like a queen on a pedestal when Bo looks at her. She's pretty sure that is not something that will ever change given the way their bodies seem to hum when they are together.
She feels that tingle in her hand as Bo laces their fingers together and walks her to the limo. They say their goodbyes and hop inside, anxious to begin their honeymoon. Their wedding gift was the gang renting a comfortably sized, fully stocked yacht to spend the week on. Their was a chef and a captain and it was large enough that the master bedroom would be at the opposite end of the crew's cabins. Kenzi said that was mandatory given her experience with their sexcapades.
Bo and Lauren hold one another in their arms as the boat pulls away from shore. The sunset is breathtaking. There is a comfortable silence as they snuggle into one another and bask in the quiet moment, their first as a married couple. In a matter of minutes the sun disappears, leaving them standing in the dark. The boat comes to a stop several hundred yards off shore for the night.
"What are you thinking," Lauren whispers.
"That this day is like a dream. I'm almost afraid that I will wake up tomorrow and find out all of this was a dream. I still can't believe that I'm yours."
Lauren can relate to Bo's words, but it is somehow shocking to hear them spoken back to her. It's funny how the two of them continue to voice feeling so unworthy all of the time. She laughs inwardly, projecting an adoring smile to her seemingly nervous wife. Funny how sometimes you get what you need even when it is the last thing you were looking for.
"I know what you mean, but I am yours and you are mine. Somehow the universe knew to bring us together. If I did ever wake up and this was all just a dream, I'd spend everyday of my life looking for you."
Lauren slides her hands up Bo's back, pressing their lips together softly as she lowers her onto the sofa on the back deck. She paid the crew extra and gave them a good bottle of scotch to stay away for the evening, which they happily oblige. Bo lets out a low moan as her wife's body presses down on her own, her heart racing as she feels all of the emotions pouring through their kisses. It feels almost like their first time, but this is new, it's different, something deeper. It's not hurried and needy. This is about appreciation and love and every little touch seems to be amplified as Lauren's fingers find their way under Bo's dress. She drags her nails gently along the outer thigh, causing Bo to whimper and open her legs slightly, inviting her lover to see how badly she wants her. No matter how Lauren touches her, it always feels like an electricity going right to all the parts that make her crave so much more of the woman.
"God Lauren, the things you do to me," she pants heavily. "I love you so much."
Lauren works the dress upward, placing open mouth kisses along Bo's soft stomach while her fingers mindlessly teases her nipples. Bo writhes beneath her in pleasure. Lauren takes her time worshipping every inch of her wife's perfect body, despite her pleading for more. She can feel Bo's pulse quicken and breathing become shallow as she nears her release. Lauren wants to go slow, relishing every sound she is able to draw out of Bo as she brings her near the edge several times before bringing her back down. She knows just how to touch her wife to drive her wild without even going where Bo wants her most. Even in her frustration, Bo can admit that she has never felt more loved. Her back arches, her head pushing back into the pillows as she aches for more contact. Finally relenting, Lauren groans in pleasure when she feels the pool of desire at Bo's core waiting for her. She bites her lip, fighting her own wants and needs, allowing her fingers to swirl in the delicious wetness. She licks her lips knowing the way Bo tastes and all that is waiting for her to indulge in if she should so desire. This woman is now her wife, her life long partner, a body that she can spend the rest of her days honoring over and over. Staring into Bo's eyes as she gently slides her fingers inside, she smiles when Bo's eyes roll back and moans, "Yes, Lauren. Please don't stop."
Her fingers move and curl in rhythm with Bo's thrusts. She leans down and captures the heated sounds with her mouth as Bo quickly reaches her peak. Her name never sounded as good as it does right now, being screamed out in the throes of passion into the dark emptiness around them several times over. She pulls Bo up to her, devouring her mouth until her body finally relaxes. Lauren wraps her arms tightly around her wife's sweat soaked body and kisses her lobe. "I love you too, Bo. Always and forever."

10 years later
Lauren stands out on the balcony overlooking the Atlantic Ocean on Saturday morning in late June. She finds the sun coming up over the calm sea refreshes her soul. A pair of warm arms wrap around her waist from behind and Bo's face nuzzles in her neck placing light kisses there.
"Mmm, morning baby," Lauren soothes, her body naturally melting back into Bo's. "I hope I didn't wake you."
"I woke up and you were gone," Bo moves her kisses a little higher up the neck causing Lauren to shiver at her touch. "I knew you'd be out here. Are you happy?"
"So happy. I never imagined we'd have this place so soon. I thought it would be a retirement thing, you know?" Lauren turns around, not breaking Bo's hold on her. She drapes her arms around Bo's neck loosely and kisses her softly but with passion.
"I do. Everything has just worked out beautifully for us. You are making big waves just three years out of residency. You know you'll soon be one of the youngest heads of neuro in the country. I'm a full partner with Hale and then there's Evony always looking for ways to show the world how amazing you are so she can flaunt how she discovered you, " she chuckles. "Now, we have that weekend beach house we've always talked about. Happy Anniversary babe."
"It's perfect." Lauren smiles. Her eyes sparkling as she radiates peace and happiness.
"Just like you."
Bo leans in again, capturing Lauren's lips in a searing kiss. Lauren tangles her fingers through dark hair as the heat between them rises, both experiencing that familiar longing to feel the other's skin against their own. Bo breaks her hold, sliding her hands down to grip her wife's hips, eliminating the distance between them by pulling her tightly against her own. Lauren moans at the contact. Feeling her own urge to take her wife surging, she deepens the kiss, needing to taste more of the woman she loves so much it hurts. Their tongues touch and tease as they struggle for air between kisses. Lauren brings her hands along both sides of Bo's face, holding her in place as she pulls away leaving them both breathless and aching for more.
Staring deep into Bo's chocolate eyes, Lauren manages a whisper, "You are still the most beautiful thing I've ever seen, Bo. I am so thankful that you came into my life that day."
Bo smiles softly, her eyes locked with the soft browns looking adoringly back at her. There is never a question of the love between them. She can see it in every glance, feel it everytime they touch. "And I'm thankful you decided to go out with me. I loved you the first moment I saw you and I still marvel at the fact that this brilliant, beautiful woman settled for me."
"Bo, I would never say that I settled. You challenge me in ways that science never can and I look forward to every moment with you. Why don't we go back inside and christen this place in style."
"Well doctor, I have a challenge for you."
"Oh yeah?" Lauren raises her brow. "What's that?"
"You'll find out in a minute."
The glint in Bo's eyes and the seductive grin tells Lauren all she needs to know as she is pulled forward anxoiusly by her wife. Ten years of marriage and she still feels that tingle inside when her wife looks at her that way. To think she never imagined a love like this until the day she laid eyes on Bo at the Dal. That was the day everything changed and everyday since has been an adventure in the best possible way.
