A black cloud of smoke began to swirl around his body. He chuckled to himself. Castle Town wasn't as hard to infiltrate as he'd imagined. With that though, he dissipated into the air. As he opened his eyes, he was met by the usual. A cold stone floor and big doors leading into his master's throne. He could hear the sweet screams coming from the torture chambers.
The one in Red walked up the cracked stairs. Two Moblins were guarding the doors. They both step aside, allowing him to enter. opened the door to see a mature figure sitting on a throne.
"Ah, Dark Link," The figure said. "Finally."

The Knights got on their horses and headed out towards Kakariko. The rhythm of the horses' hooves echoed. Some of the knights were talking about the sudden order by the king.
"Why do you think the king is sending us to Kakariko?" One of the knights asked.
"I don't know man." The other knight said.
"Hey! Enough chit-chat you two!" Commander Rusl barked.
"Y-yessir!" both of the knights shouted.

Right after the Council meeting
Link stormed out the throne room. Zelda, right behind him asked,
"Darling, what are you doing?" Zelda asked.
"We need to contact Midna. There is no way we're going to lose this damned war." Link said sternly.
"Excuse me, what? What are you talking about? Why do we need to contact Midna?"
Zelda asked.
"Can't you see, Zelda? I've sent out 35,000 men on out a suicide mission for what reason? I have to do this. There is no way for you to talk me out of this." Link said.
"But what about James? Or Zel or Dan-" Zelda was caught off guard when Link hugged her like he never wanted to let go of her. Link sank his head into her shoulder.
"Why do you make this so hard, Zelda? It's hard for me to do this...Making my family vulnerable to what we are fighting," Link sighed.
"Just promise me this. Promise me you will stay safe and promise me you'll keep our children safe too." Link whispered.
"Why? Where are you going?" Zelda asked. Link raised his head and stared at Zelda in the eyes.
"Alerting Midna will be difficult. I'll have to retrieve the Master Sword." Link explained.
"W-wait what?! You're going back into the Lost Woods?! What if you get hurt?" Zelda stammered. Link hushed her.
"Don't worry about me. I promise I'll stay safe. Promise me the same." Link said in a soft voice.
"I promise," Zelda whispered.
Link gave Zelda a passionate kiss on the lips and left the castle. She stared at Link as he walked down the hall. She didn't know when to tell Link. She thought it would only bring him more stress. She walked down to her dorm hoping that her husband has a safe journey.

Once they parted, Link went down to the stables to prep his horse. He turned when hearing footsteps approach and turned to see his eldest son. Before James could usher a word, Link cut him off, "No, you can't come, James. It's too dangerous."
"But I can help!" James argued.
"No." Link said.
"UGH! Why do you treat me like I'm nine?! Sooner or later you're gonna get yourself killed and I'll have to deal with an entire kingdom all by myself. Oh, that's just fine. Me becoming a king with no help but I can do it better than you. You're just letting people die you, you asshole!" James shouted. Angered by James, Link went up to James and slapped him hard. Link was even more shocked. Did he really just do that? Never had he discipline his kids in such way. James was shaking.
"J-James, I'm so sorry. I don't know what came over me." Link stammered.
"Yeah, sure you are." James managed to say before he ran back into the castle.
Link sighed. Link walked over to the horse stables. He went over to his horse, Epona's stable. Memories of his past washed over him like a tsunami. He remembered the village he grew up in. Ever since the Twilight War had ended Link still had an urge for adventuring. If Zelda ever knew what feelings he had for Ilia back then...What was he thinking? Link led Epona out of her stable. She was so energetic back then. Link cleared his head. He got on top of Epona and set out for the Lost Woods.

Zelda II POV
Zel opened her sleepy eyes when she heard the Cucco crow. She sat up and yawned.
Her mom was finally going to teach her how to use magic! She has only seen her use it for special occasions, when she sang her favorite lullaby and stories of her father during the Twilight War. Zel wasn't really interested in history. Only when she saw her father's name was she engrossed. Zel lifted up her soft, silk pink blanket and got up. She walked over to her dresser and pulled out a pouf dress and put it on. Zel headed out of her dorm. As she headed out she saw her older brother, James walking down the hallway. She noticed a small bruise on the side of his face. James, now noticing her sister, walked up to her.
"Hey Zellie, what's up?" James asked in a playful tone.
"Um, James what happened to you? You look hurt." Zel spoke.
"Oh that. I accidentally hit the corner of my nightstand." James faltered.
"You sure? That looks bigger than a golf ball." Zel protested.
"I'm sure it's nothing. I'll use some red potion to get rid of it," James said like he was talking to himself.
"You go and enjoy your day. I will definitely enjoy mine." James said as a mischievous grin started to form on his face.
"What are you doing?" Zel asked.
"Oh me? I'm just going to go to Castle Town and chill out," James grinned.
"You better not tell mom. Speaking of which, shouldn't you be going to her? You wouldn't want to miss your first magic class would you?" James guessed. He is right.
"Okay. See ya!" Zel said as she darted towards her mother's room.

James went to the Kitchen and got some red potion. He grabbed a rag and damped it with red potion. He dabbed it on his bruise. He had hoped that It would go away soon.
Once he was done, he went out of the castle and ventured off into Castle Town. He saw the usual, outside marketplaces, civilians, and carts full of goods. He had hoped to find the girl he ran into when he snuck out that one night. James wandered about. He finally found her. Alright, this is it James thought. James walked over to her and tapped her shoulder.

"So tell me, Dark Link. What information do you have?" Asked the mature figure.
"The King has sent 35,000 knights to Kakariko my lady." Dark Link said.
"You must not reveal yourself yet for I have another plan." The figure said.
"Link is headed to the Lost Woods. The idiot went alone for some apparent reason. You are to venture off to the Lost Woods. Try not to attract any attention. Your job is simple. Go to the Lost Woods and assassinate the pest before he does what can ruin my plan! If you fail me, you will be banished back into the Twilight Realm understood." The figure spoke.
"You can count on me, mistress. I will not fail." Dark Link hissed.
