That following Tuesday and Wednesday, Linka got up before everyone else and left just as the other Louds were getting up. Paige's mom gave her rides on both days in the morning. Lincoln had decided to sleep on the couch for the next few days, so Linka wouldn't have to see him if she didn't want to. And she really didn't want to see Lincoln.
That Tuesday, Linka and Paige arrived before the doors opened. They sat around the playground, just talking, until the doors opened and they were let inside. Linka and Paige entered Mr. Jones class.
"Hello, girls. You're here rather early, aren't you?"
The girls jumped. Mr. Jones was sitting at his desk in the far corner of the classroom.
"Is something wrong, Linka? You look like you've been crying."
"Everything's fine, Mr. Jones. It's just I've been having a fight with my brother, that's all." Mr. Jones wasn't convinced. The little girl had her head down the entire time she said that.
"Well, if you want, since I know Paige is a really good friend of yours, I won't switch your seats until next Monday."
"Thank you so much, Mr. Jones!" The snowcapped girl looked like she could hug him.
"No problem."
And so Linka didn't have to worry about the other kids in her class for another week. Tuesday came with no other changes to any situation she was in at that moment. She still avoided Lincoln, and her twin still avoided her. At lunch, her and Paige sat with Cristina and her friends. For the most part, her sisters took her side, even though the older sisters, save Lynn, were the only ones who knew what the fight was about.
That Wednesday began in the same way as well. Linka woke up early and left before Lincoln came down. She sat with Cristina at lunch. However, that afternoon, she had art club with Cristina. She went to Mrs. Williams classroom at 2:30, right after school ended. She didn't get out of art club until 4:00. When art club ended, she and Cristina left the school. They both lived on the same general direction of the school and if Linka took a longer route that took her through the park, she could walk with Cristina for a while. So she did. They meandered through the park, saying hi to Lynn, who was in the middle of soccer practice, and getting ice cream from the ice cream parlour at the edge of the park.
The two were walking through the park when Chandler approached them.
"Hello, Linka. I have a surprise for you."
This did not bode well. Linka was starting to breathe hard. Then the surprise revealed itself. Out of the woods came all the girls that bullied her in the orphanage. They came from all sides, surrounding Linka and Cristina
"Wondering how they got here?" Chandler asked, a smug smirk on his face. "Well, Amanda found out who I was, my cousin got adopted from the same orphanage, and when she realized that you and I were going to the same school…"
"I decided that we need pay back," said Amanda. Her voice was very, very cold.
"Payback? For what?" Linka tried to sound brave, but her voice shook. The girls realized this and started to laugh.
"For not letting us pummel you, of course."
"Wait. You guys are going to beat her up?" Chandler sounded puzzled.
"Yup. You got a problem with it?" Devon asked.
"Yes, I kind of do. I might be a bully, but even I don't like to beat up the disabled. That's low, even for me."
"Then scram. We were planning on beating up Linka for all the trouble she caused us after she left. They expect us to do our own laundry! If you're not with us, you're against us."
Linka was frozen in place, tears streaming down her cheeks. Cristina, however, was thinking. She remembered seeing Lynn earlier. While the girls were arguing with Chandler, she slipped away. Linka tried slipping away as well, but they noticed her. Shoving Chandler to one side, they jumped on Linka and started pummeling her. Cristina took one look at that scene of Linka being beaten with her own prosthetic leg and booked it to the sports complex. She saw Lynn and the rest of the soccer team in the middle of practice but ran inside the field anyways.
"Coach! I need to talk to Lynn!"
"Alright. Loud! Come here!"
"Yeah? Oh, hey Cristina. What's up?"
"Its Linka! They got her, and they're beating her and you have to call the police and Lori and everything and its all going down and –"
"Alright. Calm down and tell me everything again."
"Linka's bullies from the orphanage are in the park near the lake and their beating her up. Linka told me to tell you to call the cops and call Lori."
Lynn called both of those numbers and her parents and told them the situation. The siblings, her parents, and the cops all said they would be at the lake in the park within 6 minutes. Then she turned to her coach.
"Coach, can I be excused?"
The coach, who had heard the entire thing, nodded. "Of course you can, Loud."
"Thanks, coach." She turned to Cristina. "Take me there."
"You're not gonna get involved, are you?" Cristina looked very doubtful.
"Of course I am. That's my sister there getting beaten up, and I am going to do something about it."
Cristina reluctantly led the belligerent Loud through the park until they reached the lake. Lynn saw all the girls were ganging up on Linka, and Chandler sitting at the side, watching in fear. Lynn jumped into the ball of violence. Cristina and Chandler just watched, fearfully, as the girls, who there appeared to be 7 of, started beating up both Lynn and Linka.
Finally, after 4 minutes of agonizing fighting, the cops and the paramedics arrived from one side, and the entire Loud family from the other.
"What's going on here?" asked the cop.
The fighting stopped, and the girls got off of Lynn and Linka.
"Yeah, I'd like to know that too." Mr. Loud said. The cop glared at him. "Sorry."
"These girls ambushed Linka, Lynn, and I, and started fighting us."
The paramedics began loading unconscious Linka and semiconscious Lynn into different ambulances. Both girls came out of the fight very poorly. Linka's left arm and right leg were in very unnatural positions, and her prosthetic leg was almost unrecognizable as a leg, it was that mangled.
"I'll go with Linka. Rita, can you go with Lynn? Lori and Leni, you're in charge."
It was a very subdued Loud family that left the park, even as the orphan girls were put in police cars and driven somewhere. The cop said that he'd contact the Louds about a trial.
"Are Linka and Lynn going to be alright?" a very concerned Lana asked.
"Lynn will be fine. Linka, we'll see."
Another short quick chapter. This was the second half to the last one, but I felt it made more sense to split them up. The next chapter might be coming out soon, might be after 3 weeks. I don't know for sure yet.
